Do not order the rot chicken sandwich, expensive and toilet paper would taste better. Long wait, the cashier rude. Not worthy.

You haven't truly had green chili until you've had it at The Canteen in Breckenridge. The flavor is unreal. On top of that, the ambiance is fantastic and the customer service is impressive. Walking in on a cold February day, the mood and ambiance were warm and inviting. The downstairs bar was lively, and the wood ceiling and decor definitely gave off a classic aged lodge feel. We were seated upstairs per our Yelp reservations. A collection of canteens hung on the wall, which sparked a fun conversation and history lesson for my twins. Since they're part of the CamelBak and Stanley cup generation, they hadn't seen anything like them before. My son was impressed by the size of the kids' burger, and the fries were great. The rest of us had the NY Strip. I'd say it was good, but not great--though I did appreciate the blackened seasoning and the chimichurri. The grilled asparagus, however, was simply fantastic. The showstopper was the upside-down apple pie with what seemed to be homemade vanilla ice cream. Both were generous portions and kindly comped by our server for my birthday. I ordered my standard Ranch Water, though it unfortunately didn't come in their traditional canteen cup. Overall, it's a great spot. I look forward to visiting again on our next trip to Colorado.

We came here for brunch before heading to the hot springs and it was a great stop…read more I got the Main Street Benedict, super yummy! The only thing I didn't like as much was the hashbrowns, they were just okay. I also ordered the jalapeño bread French toast (recommended by our server). I love jalapeño flavor, but I remember thinking it sounded kind of weird for French toast... but I'm glad I tried it because it was so good. They make their breads in-house and I would definitely get that again. I also tried some of my friend's banana bread and that was really delicious too. Didn't get a chance to try these since we had to get to the hot springs soon so thought it's too much food to finish in time, but they had a French toast flight and a Benedict flight, which I've never seen before. Pretty cool, I love anything where you can try multiple flavors. Overall, would reccomend this brunch spot in Idaho Springs. Would come back!

A Fun, Bustling Spot with a Fantastic Breakfast!…read more We had a great breakfast at Main Street Restaurant. It's a fun, cozy little place with a lot of hustle and bustle--you can tell it's a popular spot! The staff was friendly and working hard, keeping tables moving. The food was fantastic. Their breakfast menu is impressive, especially if you're an Eggs Benedict fan. I had the Brazilian Benedict, which was creative and delicious, and my wife loved her Pancake Flight--a fun way to try a few different kinds. They have over ten types of Benedicts, including a "Flight of the Benedicts" and a huge list of specialty omelets and creative pancakes. It's clear they focus on quality, using organic eggs and homemade English muffins. We really enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back next time we're passing through Idaho Springs.

Love this place and will be thinking about it on our next trip through town. Wow! What a vibe!…read more Things were picking up by the time we got there for lunch. We were greeted by a really nice blonde girl that showed us our seats. She was down to earth and was just beaming with great vibes. Then we got Matt. As if the experience wasn't already great from hanging out with friends, Matt invited us with an amount of aloha that is only found in Hawaii! We ordered chips and onion dip. The ramekin that the onion dip came with was really small compared to the amount of chips we received. It was delicious! Maybe substitute toasted bread next time? I ordered the poke and that was outstanding! It came with a creamy ginger dip that tied things together. For being landlocked and in the mountains, this is a dish I will remember! Matt also brought out a Hong Kong sriacha that definitely elevated everything. The reggae (music), positive vibes, and down to earth feel was a great way to end our trip before getting back to the grind. What a place! The scenery speaks for itself too and the staff is top notch!

For entrees, we selected carnivore and sweet potato gnocchi. One major thing I liked about their dishes is the variety of vegetables within the soup and entrees. Carnivore had freshly sautéed broccoli, and Gnocchi had zucchini, onions, and cauliflowers. It makes the whole meal feel more healthy and balanced. We finished our meal with lady bird bread pudding. Overall the service was great and welcoming. Highly recommend! PS. They also offer to send out a postcard for you. I enjoyed writing the postcard in the restaurant!

This was my 3rd or 4th time going. Clearly, I am a slow learner, and forgave the experience but this was the last straw. The service is ALWAYS terrible and the food is even worse. I have ordered a different dish every time and everyone them was either cold (left on the cooks counter for the waiter too long) or bland or just plain bad! Last night I ordered tacos. It took forever to even get service, or our food, and there was 6 customers in the whole place. The food came cold but before I knew it was cold, I asked for salsa (it came with none) and took forever to come back. The moment they left for salsa, I took a bite and realized the food was cold (all of it, beans, rice, tacos). I had to go search for them to come back and told them it was cold. They had it remade (took forever) and they salsa was literally stewed tomatoes from the can. This time, the plate was scalding hot and the waitress gave no warning! Now, it was hot and terrible with canned tomatoes for salsa. Ridiculous and they still charged us! I will go to Johnny Z's but will not ever again eat at the Grill!
