I've never experienced such unprofessional behavior from restaurant staff. We never even got the chance to order food because the service was so bad. We definitely won't be back.

Though the business has only been around for a few years, one of the cars was built in 1906, and all of them have a unique story to their name. The best part of this place is checking out the various train cars, all different with various types of seating options. We ordered coffees, sandwiches, and their self-proclaimed "world famous" mini donuts. The sandwiches came out piping hot. I was actually impressed with the bacon egg and cheese. Generous serving of egg, especially. Much better than the bagel spot around the corner! The donuts were good, but you really need to eat them right away while they're hot. Since they're part of the CamelBak and Stanley cup generation, they hadn't seen anything like them before. My son was impressed by the size of the kids' burger, and the fries were great. I ended up ordering the Colorado trout filet, and it was definitely the highlight for me. The trout was cooked well, very flavorful, and topped with a cilantro-lime sauce that paired well with it. It came with roasted corn and potatoes, which were both tasty, although I do wish there had been a little more of each. My fiancée ordered the beets and Bibb salad and added chicken. Unfortunately, the chicken was probably the weakest part of the meal. It was fairly dry and didn't have much flavor. Overall, though, we had a good experience at Bird & Jim. The trout was exactly what I was looking for: light, healthy, & flavorful. There are quite a few other things on the menu I'd like to try, so we'd open to returning next time we are in the area.

This was my 3rd or 4th time going. Clearly, I am a slow learner, and forgave the experience but this was the last straw. The service is ALWAYS terrible and the food is even worse. I have ordered a different dish every time and everyone them was either cold (left on the cooks counter for the waiter too long) or bland or just plain bad! Last night I ordered tacos. It took forever to even get service, or our food, and there was 6 customers in the whole place. The food came cold but before I knew it was cold, I asked for salsa (it came with none) and took forever to come back. The moment they left for salsa, I took a bite and realized the food was cold (all of it, beans, rice, tacos). I had to go search for them to come back and told them it was cold. They had it remade (took forever) and they salsa was literally stewed tomatoes from the can. This time, the plate was scalding hot and the waitress gave no warning! Now, it was hot and terrible with canned tomatoes for salsa. Ridiculous and they still charged us! I will go to Johnny Z's but will not ever again eat at the Grill!
