Looooved our brunch at The Kitchen! We walked in with no reservation at around 11:30 and were able to snag a table right away. The space is cozy and bright. I loved the big chandeliers and brick wall. Our server, Skylar, was fantastic. She was personable, welcoming, and enhanced the entire dining experience. My friend and I started with the churro donuts to share. These were the perfect sweet treat (because who can have brunch without something sweet for the table?) It comes with a dulce de leche and a coffee anglaise that was so delicious. For my main I went with the fireside eggs. This was exceptional! Flavourful shakshuka with perfectly poached eggs, avocado and feta served alongside naan bread. This meal was comforting and delicious without being overly filling. I can't recommend The Kitchen enough! If I'm ever back in Boulder I will definitely be back. I would love to try the lunch or dinner menu! read more

The Kitchen is an American farm-to-table restaurant with an interesting gimmick: everything on the menu is meant to be shared from the appetizers to the main courses to the desserts. I came here for dinner with my husband for a work dinner and our party had seven people total. The Kitchen had a modern and rustic feel to it and the server was quick to show us to our table once our party arrived. We weren't really sure where to start, so a server recommended a few dishes for us to share and everyone ended up picking 1-3 dishes each. We started with a few appetizers: carrots which were slow roasted until they were tender and served on a bed of fluffy, whipped feta, crispy cauliflower which was fried until the exterior was nice and crunchy and served alongside tender carrots and a sweet tamarind chutney. My husband ordered a rigatoni which doused in a fresh bolognese, slices of parmesan, and fragrant herbs. We also had scallops as per the waiter's recommendation, but we were disappointed when only two scallops came out. It would have been nice if the waiter had mentioned that there would only be two scallops served, especially knowing that our party had 7 people. We also had crab fried rice, which I wasn't much of a fan of due to the saltiness of the dish. I ended up ordering the trout, which seemed to be a favorite around the table because of the crispiness of the skin. The sweetness of the candied pine nut crumble contrasted so nicely with the fish and the creaminess of the dashi yogurt paired well with everything. We also ordered a few meat dishes: pork belly which was incredibly fatty and tender and had a sweetness due to the brown sugar curing, espresso-rubbed wagyu skirt steak which ended up being fairly disappointing to everyone (the marbling of the wagyu steak wasn't quite as rich and fatty as I'd expect for a wagyu), and a double-cut pork chop, which was also incredibly tender and delicious. We also ordered a side of fries and everyone was so surprised by how large and thick the fries were, although it wasn't too different from other fries you could order elsewhere. It was a fun and interesting experience eating here, although I'm not sure I'd recommend it as it's rather pricey. It's fun to eat with a large party, though. The service can also be incredibly slow. It took a while for us to get the check or to flag down staff to inquire about the menu. We also had to fill our own water, which was a little disappointing considering the price point of the restaurant. read more

This was a pretty good meal unexpectedly after the BOLDERBoulder run last weekend! We thought the area would be too packed to find a table, but surprisingly there were plenty of open seats at around noon on Memorial Day. There are only two tables on their patio that have an umbrella, so we were sitting in the sun at first and it was getting really hot (but then we were able to snag a shaded table when it freed up shortly after) All of the menu options sounded so good, we started with drinks, I can't remember the name of my cocktail, but it had egg white in it and was so delicious. We ordered the burrata appetizer and all of our means at the same time. Unfortunately, the appetizer never came out, our server for that to put it in. I ended up going with the Bolognese and it was really good so was the steak frites and street cart chicken that my friends had. Their fries are pretty good. The server felt really bad for forgetting about our appetizer and offered us a free dessert instead, so we tried the churro donuts which were ok. I'm still it was a good meal and I would definitely come back if I'm in the Boulder area again soon read more

So freaking good! Went for lunch yesterday. Literally everything my husband and I tried was delicious. We started with the puffs- bursting with flavor and beautiful presentation- so creative. Then had the lobster rolls - perfection. And a cubano sandwich. Service was attentive and fast. Atmosphere was nice inside- pretty lights, not too crowded or loud. Will definitely be back - loved the flavorful creative twists on food. read more

So many Yelpers raved about the carrots here so I knew I had to try it myself and boy was everyone right! It was honestly some of the best tasting, perfectly charred carrots I've ever had. Even though our table shared a variety of dishes, which included the ceviche, gnocchi, rigatoni, mussels, the carrots were still #1! We also had their special tomahawk steak which was cooked fantastically and to our liking (medium rare). Great service too and our server was super helpful in recommendations for both food and drinks. However, everything was definitely quite pricey for what we got. Though every ounce of food was delicious and top quality, the meal was definitely a splurge and more of a once-in-awhile treat. read more

Ambiance and service were great. However most of the food was mediocre or too salty. Out of 7 people, half of us thought our food was fine but not great. Dessert had mixed reviews as well as a couple drinks. read more

I love coming for dinner so decided to try their brunch this weekend! The place was packed! We split the lemon ricotta pancakes which were incredible!! I ordered the Turkish eggs and my friend ordered the farmers plate. The Turkish eggs lacked flavor and I wasn't a fan of the consistency however I know it's one of their popular items so maybe just wasn't for me. My friend enjoyed the farmers plate which is your typical eggs, meat and toast option read more

Cozy atmosphere with attentive and friendly service! The food was delicious overall. The only minor issue was that the Crab Fried Rice was a bit saltier than I prefer. Otherwise, it was a wonderful dining experience. I would definitely come back. read more

Such a delectable restaurant to eat! Nestled at the bustling Pearl Street, this was a gem of a find for us looking for brunch. We ordered three items, the Turkish Eggs, Southern Fried Chicken Sandwich, and the very popular Carrots. Yes, carrots. Trust me, they're worth it! The Turkish Eggs was a delight, no pun intended, with its savory poached egg floating on top of the smokey urfa chile-peppered labneh yogurt. The zaatar spiced naan makes a perfect pairing as well. The Southern Fried Chicken Sandwich is good, but not as memorable. Nevertheless, it was still quite good. The fries were good, too. The carrot, however is really worth the hype! It may simply be called just "carrots" on the menu, but the taste is far more than its humble title. It's almost like sweet potatoes in its subtle sweetness but better. The combination of that urfa chile, whipped feta, pistachio, sesame, cilantro, and mint made for an exciting combination of spicy and sweetness. Yes, we had to wait until 2:30pm (we came at 1:45) to get it since it's technically not on the Brunch menu, but it was worth it. All in all, the food was great, and the service was just as great. Next time I'm in Boulder, I'll have to come here for more tasty dining! read more

Stopped in for brunch after a hike with the kids. Can't believe we've effectively skipped winter. We sat outside on the patio and enjoyed a lovely meal. The staff were all upbeat and attentive. The Lemon ricotta pancakes were so good. Fluffy with the perfect balance of sweet and sour. The lemon compote that went with it was also phenomenal. The fried chicken sandwich was amazing. The fried chicken was the best I've had on this side of the Mason Dixon line. So juicy and full of flavor. Glad we stopped in. I'd come back to try the dinner menu. read more

Had a really nice dinner here. Came on a Tuesday night and it wasn't too crowded. Some of the standout dishes were the pork belly, crispy cauliflower, and my family also really liked the pork chop with spetzel. Everything we got was good though, nothing fell short. My family also loved the chocolate dome dessert. Our server was soo friendly also, amazing customer service. I forget his name but he was really tall and had long hair. He was great. Nice vibe in here too. Good for a special occasion or date night. read more

The kitchen is one of my favorite restaurants. Everything is amazing can't recommend enough I'd give 6 starts if I could. Best tomato soup on the planet accompanied by fresh, perfectly crusty bread. This location is my third favorite. First is Fort Collins, CO and Chicago, IL is second. It never disappoints and this location is consistent - always a great meal with service to match the food quality. Top Notch. Fresh, simple and delicious. Excellent service and a splendid wine selection. You can't go wrong I've had everything on the menu and truly love it all. Crisp ambiance, beautifully lit with a relaxed feel. Late lunch/early dinner recommended as parking in Boulder can be a drag, especially in this area. read more

Loved this fun spot on Pearl Street in downtown Boulder! There were quite a few restaurants along Pearl Street to choose from, but the large patio and the fresh food at The Kitchen really caught our eye. We did not have a reservation and ended up waiting about 45 minutes on a weeknight to get a table outside, but they gave us a pager and we enjoyed shopping in the local boutiques while we waited. Service was attentive and very friendly. The food was presented beautifully and we enjoyed our dishes. My colleague and I decided to share a few items from the menu with some wine. The cauliflower and carrots came out on top, followed by the crab fried rice, which somehow wasn't as good as we imagined it could have been so I might try something different but I would definitely come here again! read more

The Kitchen was my go to for a quality dinner in Boulder when I lived in this area. It's been a few years and some dishes still hit the mark. 1. The carrots - unique and delicious, this time consists of roasted carrots with a delicious cream sauce. 5/5 stars 2. Roasted chicken over fries - this dish used to be prepared as a half chicken served over garlic potato wedges baked in an iron pan, it was huge and amazing. The resturant now serves this as grilled chicken with a garlic cream sauce and fries. I preferred the prior presentation, but this was still tasty. 4/5 stars. 3. Crab fried rice - A fried egg over fried rice served with shredded crab meat. Good portion of crab, soy sauce, and rice. Basic, could have used some sort of hot sauce or peppers to add dimension. 3/5 The service was exceptional, our server was Sierra and she made our meal feel like a special occasion. My main critique regarding the food is that all the dishes were a bit too salty and could have used more spices to balance the flavors. read more

Visited The Kitchen for dinner after hiking the Rocky Mountains! My partner and I started with the tiradito and carrots - both were absolutely delicious! The carrots are a must must try, I've never had carrots that tasted quite as delicious as these. We shared the crab fried rice which was good but had a few bites that were grainy (probably fragment of crab shells). I had the crispy cod as my main dish and my partner had the steak. My crispy cod was enjoyable but the starts we had were stars of the meal. read more

My husband and I live in Milwaukee, WI and went to The Kitchen American Bistro in Boulder for a NYE dinner. We had an 8:45PM reservation and were seated right away at a high-top table near the bar. We were glad to be seated at the high-top because it seemed to have more energy than the tables in the back dining room. To start, we shared the carrots, rigatoni, and Parker house rolls. The carrots were delicious with the whipped feta. We both really enjoyed the texture and flavor. The Parker house rolls were soft on the inside and had a nice toasted texture on the top with the perfect amount of salt. We both did not like the butter it was served with, it was way too garlicky for our liking. My husband said it made him "curl his toes". The rigatoni was one of our favorites of the night, it was amazing, creamy, and flavorful. We were considering getting another order of the rigatoni to-go for a late night snack! For our main dishes, we shared the Pork chop and the Denver Steak. The pork chop was honestly one of the best pork chops I've ever had!!! 10/10 hands down! All of the flavors on the plate paired well together and we loved the rye spatzle and bourbon-apple glaze it was served with. The Denver Steak is not something we'd order again. While we liked the quality of meat, we did not like all of the intense seasonings and the hominy. My husband wasn't a fan of the cilantro and did not like this entree. To end our evening, we shared the chocolate mousse dome. It was spectacular!! Creamy, smooth, and decadent. My husband said "it was a surprise at every turn". The flavor profile was somewhere between a Drumstick icecream cone and a smore. We both loved it and it was a great way to end the night. I highly recommend eating at The Kitchen American Bistro and we are looking forward to our next visit! read more

Very hard to review. Really is partly a 3 star and partly a 5 star. Some dishes were executed marvelously some were not. We sent two dishes back! The tar tar was amazing. Some of the best I have had! The chicken dish with the truffle cream was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. Maybe the best chicken I have ever had. We sent the oysters back because one oyster shell had something in it the size of a baby fingernail. We sent the gnocchietti back because it came out ice cold. When it came back the gnocchi were mushy and hard to find in the midst of the sauce. The sauce was good. But I did not order just sauce. I could not eat them. We ordered that with the steak and it came out way before the steak. The new one also came out before the steak. Weird timing. The steak was ordered medium rare and came out rare. Which I am ok with but seemed to be another example of poor execution. Great imagination in creating beautiful dishes but this night a lot of poor execution! read more

We did actually totally enjoy our experience here! The serving sizes and pace of service were a little confusing. The carrots were the star for sure. We also loved the waygu and crème brûlée. And the cocktails were great! The hamachi crudo was BIZARRE though. The coconut ruined it. It was only edible by pulling the fish out and scraping it off. That being said, we would like to come back and try more. We've been wanting to try this restaurant for a long time and it was mostly a positive experience. read more

I'll start with the good: the carrots! Absolutely delicious! Definitely a dish I'm looking forward to recreating at home because I enjoyed the flavor profiles of the al dente carrots, whipped feta, pistachios, and seasoning. I also ordered the black caesar, which was ok, but under-seasoned and dry. The kale was more bitter than usual, like it hadn't been well-massaged and seasoned. There were also some pieces of stem left in, so it seemed a bit sloppy. It also just needed more dressing, which wasn't apparent in the pictures or at first look, but it had dry spots. The flavor profile of this dish was interesting, but needed to be better balanced to be more enjoyable. The cucumber squeeze mocktail that I ordered was almost all ice and ginger beer, so it was disappointing. I was looking for more flavors of cucumber, lime, or mint. It kind of tasted like a canned one-note mocktail. Not a huge deal, but definitely not worth ordering. Now the biggest issue was the service. I was eating alone (traveling by myself, something I'm comfortable doing) and it was clear my waitress thought this was weird. She ignored me for stretches of time and didn't check to see how my food was, which was very different than how she was treating other tables nearby. When I got up to use the restroom (and left some of my belongings at the table to indicate I was definitely coming back), she purposely intercepted me to make sure I wasn't leaving. I think this was the only time she asked how I was the whole time. The restroom is at the back of the restaurant, so it was very clear I was going there not the front door. The whole experience was just odd and uncomfortable, and I am used to eating alone, so it was definitely her not me. While I did have one good dish here, I definitely wouldn't come back. The prices were quite high for what I got and the service was disproportionate. read more

First off: pretentious feel, the servers not only held themselves like soldiers, but also had a feeling of fear to them? Our server, tall guy, was nice, but I saw him getting yelled at by what I can assume was a manager, little woman. Not sure what that was but It was very sad to see while trying to enjoy my familys dinner. The food was bland, crab fried rice salty and hard, the eggplant panisse was one of the worst dishes ive ever had in a restaurant. The kicker for me though, the thing that really mad this experience bad, was the bill. Of course I knew what I ordered, but geez, this place is robbing people. Overall, uptight, underwhelming, overpriced. read more

Gluten free heaven!!! The Kitchen is absolutely delicious! They have so many gluten free options and gluten free adjustments. The arancini is a crunchy, smooth, cheesy dream! I still have 10 things I need to try on their menu. The seasoning to everything is robustly, perfectly balanced and all the ingredients just seem, FRESH :)) The staff is fantastic, the bar tenders let you taste the wine if you're not sure and the manager always checks in. I can't comment on food. I'll start with that. I tried to get a seat at the bar and at first there was nothing and the hostess said no there is no seating available. Then I walked by about 2 minutes later and there were 2 seats available, so I walked up to it cause the hostess said it's first come first serve. I believe it was was the front of house manager that told me "no. Please go up front and wait for me to clean it" I said "ok no problem." Then a patron came up to me and told me the seats were claimed and I said "ok that's fine you can have them." And she said " yes I already told the hostess that those are ours." I get that the patrons rude behavior is not a reflection on the restaurant but the front of house manager was rude. The hostess could've told me to wait a minute. Instead she basically just said sorry. No options. To be honest, it felt like a racist atmosphere. I guess if you're a white woman, they are nicer to you... but I felt a little disrespected. I just wanted to sit at the bar and grab some food and a rose for my birthday. Too bad I guess. read more

I've gone to the kitchen a couple of times now and have always had a great experience. It's a great place if you're going to hang out with friends and family or if you're trying to go on a date. The restaurant has 2 floors and both are dimly lit. They have some nice decor and most of the waiters/waitresses are college kids that are pretty attentive and nice. The food is pretty good too for the most part. We got their Denver Steak, Oven Roasted chicken with Garlic Fries, Crispy Cod, and their Crab Fried Rice. The crab fried rice was pretty good, lots of flavor and the crab was cooked well. The steak was also great as well, full of flavor. The chicken however was over salted to the point where it overpowered the rest of the flavors. All you could taste was salt even on the fries as well. The cod was also okay. It tasted good but it was overcooked a bit and was a bit dry. Overall decent spot and the food is good for the most part. read more

Was in Boulder for a football game, and while strolling around Pearl Street, we found The Kitchen and stopped for lunch. This was a fantastic spot! We each ordered something different and all three of us thoroughly enjoyed our food and craft cocktails! I believe the menu is changed regularly. We sat out on their patio, under umbrellas on a beautiful August afternoon and it was perfect! Our server was fantastic - made great food and drink recommendations and was very attentive and friendly without constantly bugging us. If I'm ever back in Boulder, I want to check out their dinner menu! Definitely check them out! read more

Fantastic food! Tried the carrots, lamb arayas, crispy cauliflower, cast iron roasted chicken. It's impressive how simple carrots are, and they made the dish so intricate and flavorful. A warning on the cauliflower dish, it may come piping hot on the inside. Be careful biting in those! This dish reminds me of a cauliflower dish I've had in Indian restaurants. Very tasty. Note: for the roasted chicken, I would ask for an extra side of sauce. My favorite dishes were the carrots, crispy cauliflower, desserts and lamb arayas. For dessert we tried the Mousse Dome and the Pot De Creme. Both were wonderful! MOUSSE DOME peanut butter mousse, peanut caramel black cocoa cake, dulce-peanut rocher. POT DE CREME v chocolate custard, black currant, amarena cherries, espresso bean. My only recommendation to the restaurant is to put details on their receipts. We had an unknown charge/fee on our bill. The bartender is a friendly guy, appreciate his demeanor. The restaurant is nice and modern. Parking is meters. read more

The Kitchen American Bistro is located at one end of Pearl Street Mall and a great dining option for when you're in the Boulder area! We had had a pretty large brunch, so when we came here for an (early) dinner, we weren't all that hungry so didn't end up ordering much. But I absolutely loved the ambiance of this restaurant, it has both a first and second floor and we were seated on the second floor by the windows overlooking the mall, so it was great for people watching! It also seems like this space used to be a bookstore of some sort, and it's been stunningly renovated into a restaurant space now, but the windows still have the signs of the old bookstore on it, which is very charming! Honestly, the service was amazing and our waiter was so friendly and patient with us as we perused the menu and everything we ended up ordering here was delicious! My two favorite showstoppers were the Denver Steak (truly did not know that such a thing existed until we saw it on the menu here and it does taste different than a normal steak and highly recommend!) and the gnocchetti - tossed by roasted mushrooms, arugula, parmesan, and watercress! A+ vibes all around, both with the food and drink (delightful mocktail options available!) and the ambiance! Can't go wrong with a meal at the Kitchen! read more

was super excited to take my family to the kitchen with them in town for the weekend. Had never been to the kitchen before, menu looked amazing. We ordered a few things off the menu to start, one being the burrata. I have a nut allergy and took a bite of the burrata and it tasted like there was a nut in it. I stopped eating and asked our waitress.... come to find out there's pistachios in the burrata but it wasn't listed on the menu. SUPER dangerous to not have this listed. Solid ingredients and great menu however the food was way oversalted. The Kitchen is a great place to get a some elevated food in a casual / relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant is less than a block from my office so much to easy to satisfy the Kitchen Craving! The food is on the higher price side but being right of Pearl most places tend to be a bit on the more expensive side. I like going for lunch where I can get a decent meal for a relatively good price. The burger is top notch and sometimes a get a craving just for this burger at a perfect medium rare with all the fixings. Another go to is the fried chicken sandwich, oh so crunchy and oh so tasty. I stumbled upon this breakfast spot while walking through the pearl street mall. The menu posted outside lured me in and I brought my appetite. The ambiance is phenomenal and offers a high end feel; I felt underdressed in my hiking attire. Even the bathroom had a relaxing spa feel with a fragrant candle burning. Now let's get to the food. They offer many gluten free, vegan, and vegetarian options for brunch. I choose the farmers breakfast and substituted the bacon for fresh fruit. I often find that sides of fruit are underwhelming...a few soggy pieces of melon and some grapes. This fruit bowl delivered happiness and was piled high with fresh pineapple, blackberries, and melon! It was refreshing and delicious. The toast and jam were delightful, although I couldn't quite figure out what flavor the jam was...maybe strawberry cardamom? Eggs phenomenal, but the French toast was truly the star of the show. My friend and I shared the order because we had to try it. It was monkey bread style, lots of maple and nuts and scrumptious whipped cream dollop. Our server was prompt and friendly and offered great suggestions throughout. Also, it's not listed on the drink menu but they do have a full coffee bar! I would highly recommend the kitchen for a nice brunch. read more
