Great patio up top. Went for happy hour. Had really good street tacos and Margaritas. Service staff was fun, nice, quick.

After jumping into, then out of, Waterloo, named after a major station on the London Underground (subway), the conclusion was they need another name: "Few TV's." Especially concerning was that none of the few TV's were even on when it was under 30 minutes before England v France WORLD CUP SOCCER match on a Saturday afternoon! Seriously??? The atmosphere of ignorance, in a joint called Waterloo (NAMED after the LOCATION where ENGLISH HELPED DEFEATED THE FRENCH), made me wonder if similar inattention was in the kitchen and the behind the bar? I may return to find out. The bar service seemed friendly, sympathetic, and attractive. read more

Came here for Dolly night with a group of friends and since it was advertised as being a community event, you would think they would've staffed it for that. We arrived 40 minutes late and our friends had been seated the entire time and barely ordered drinks. They warned us so we decided to go direct to the bar and order and the bar tender was very put off. She was rude and made it clear that she was irritated that we went to the bar to order with a few rude remarks. A friend at the table ordered a red beer which is basically a michelada which is on the menu. He got a bottle of beer so he asked for the tomato juice to go with it. We could see the bar tender snapping at the server that they don't have tomato juice. She came back with a glass just a little taller than a shot glass filled with (I'm guessing) clamato, which was totally fine....so now he has a full beer and a full shot glass of red juice - not a glass to mix them in. We would NOT come back based on how she treated our friends. We understand they were probably understaffed that night but the way she handled it was awful. read more

We visited Waterloo with a party of six. First time here, but it felt like we got one of the best seats in the house. A long natural wood table on the second floor - indoor seating with a nice evening breeze coming from the windows. The appetizers we shared were all really good and the entrees were solid. Artichoke Dippin - Spinach and Artichoke Dip - the dip was cheesy and seasoned well to go with bread, cucumber slices, and carrot sticks. Big visible pieces of spinach and artichoke. Not Your Average Pickle - Fried Pickles - nice crispy batter but the pickles still had crunch Onion Rings or French Fries? - I thought these were both well fried, but giving it to the onion rings - these were perfect - couldn't have asked for a better one. Crispy Fish Sandwich - reminiscent of a fillet o' fish but with better ingredients. Comes with Thousand Island dipping sauce. Colorado Bison Burger - cooked nicely to medium, good flavor - wish the patty was salted a little more. Fried Okra - standard fried okra item - solid Worth noting - a dish I didn't try, but one of my friends ordered a Steak Street Mac & Cheese and barely touched it - they said the steak was overcooked and significantly under-seasoned. Our server (Ren?) was extremely attentive and just a fun person. Thanks for the awesome service. I thought Waterloo did a great job with standard pub fare and sprinkled in some fun twists and unique dishes to their menu. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. read more

Mostly great things on our first visit here. bison burger - proper portion for the price and cooked perfectly med rare pastrami sand - 5 stars : I'm pretty picky with pastrami, it was excellent! the marbled rye was 'real' (aka the good stuff) and the pastrami had a nice smoke on it. chicken and waffles - 3 stars : good portion, pretty much the 'standard' stuff here, over cooked the fried chicken bbq platter - 4 stars : proper portion for the price, nice flavor on the meat. Service - 4.5 stars : table servers were fantastic (Mike is a great guy!). Looses half star since the kitchen is pretty slow, 40 mins to get our meal and they were not busy when we got there. I think they were also understaffed since the servers were crazy all over busy. Ambience - 5 stars : really cool setup overall, visually interesting too. read more

Everything was good here we had a great time. The ambiance was really cool! Johnny Cash and blues inspired with a nice rooftop. Our Server Emma was very polite, attentive and provided outstanding service. The food was really good. Chicken wings and a burger you cant go wrong. Blueberry habanero margaritas made by the amazing Michelle. Sammy even hopped in for nice recommendations and great conversation. 10's all around Hope to see everyone again soon. read more

So NOM! Everything on the menu is delicious. Great happy hour. And the staff is so friendly. I wish I took photos of the upstairs patio.. it's so beautiful. Great place to get a drink and meal on Main Street Louisville. This is a great bar to visit any day of the week. They treat you like family which I know is hard to find sometimes. I will come in solo and feel totally comfortable.. everyone knows each other and are so welcoming. They smoke their own brisket... and other shit. Enough said. Just go. read more

Came here after the Louisville Festival of Lights, what a friendly and fun atmosphere! We loved the balcony upstairs and how well decorated the place is for the holidays. Went with the filet which was cooked perfectly and paired very well with the mashed potatoes and asparagus. I loved the sauce it came with too, one of the better steaks I've had out here. Our server recommended the special cookie and ice cream which I got and was immediately wowed by. Perfect end to the meal. Our server was very friendly and frequently checked in despite it being very busy! Love this spot and you need to check it out if you're in Louisville. read more

The food and drinks are decent, it's a chill and casual spot. However, the service is not good. I came in to meet a friend about 10 min to 8:30, and she had already ordered food since they'd told her the kitchen "would close soon" but didn't specify when. She told them that one more person was coming as well. Of course, I had no idea when their kitchen closed, especially since the whole place closes at 10. In those ten minutes, I received no service until exactly 8:30. At that time, the waitress came over and I tried to order. She insincerely informed me of their kitchen hours and said I couldn't place an order. Mind you, she'd been chatting with her coworkers that entire time. Still, that was easier to brush off than what we heard on the way out. The pair were loudly making fun of someone and (not so secretly) calling her a fat b*tch. This is not the kind of behavior I expect or appreciate from those in the service industry, especially having worked in it for so long. My friend and I agreed we won't be returning after that experience. read more

The Waterloo never disappoints. Every visit feels consistent in the best way--great food, attentive service, and cocktails that are always perfectly made. Everything was on point from start to finish. It's one of those places you can count on for a solid experience every time, whether you're going out for a casual night or something a little more special. Highly recommend! read more

Girlfriend and I stopped by for dinner. I opted for a normal burger, it was great! Cooked exactly the way I wanted it. For my side I picked the mac & cheese. Let me tell you something. If you go anywhere else and order a 'side' of mac & cheese they give you the tiniest ramequin of the side. Waterloo will fill up the rest of your plate with mac & cheese, I was delighted to see a nice portion of mac & cheese. Girlfriend got the Fuego burger and she loved it too. She also got a massive side of fries, so we were both happy. Service was great too. We arrived and were seated within 5 minutes. Multiple people stopped by to make sure we were all taken care of throughout our time there. The inside looks wonderful as well. Guitars and other music/band related things are on the walls. When you first walk in you're greeted with an autograph from Johnny Cash, which is freaking awesome. It has the feel of a Hard Rock Cafe without the Hard Rock cafe. It's much more chill - and that's a great thing - after all the place is inspired by a record label. Come by, have a drink, and enjoy a meal! read more

Great place for libations and dinner. Very casual dining experience. Service was fast and friendly and establishment was clean. I had the Adult Corn Dogs with Caesar Salad and Fried Okra. Okra was typical battered-type but acceptable and the Caesar Salad good. Corn Dogs were perhaps the best I'd ever had, not the type you get in a gas station for sure! It was at this moment I knew I had to visit Texas before heading back to Vegas. I need to see if all my friends who have been pushing me to go there to find my wife are wrong. I know now I can never deal with the cold, and my house has to be located in a purple or solid red state. I would have been in Texas sooner but their cannabis laws scare the shit out of me. I get hurt too often with extreme sports and avoid opioids. My inner child likes to take a stack of edibles and play in Area 15 too. I'll never get old. Still debating if I should settle down, but no one has been worth it. My journey will take me through Dallas, Midland, and Austin. I can't wait to see friends I haven't seen in ages, and sample as much BBQ and tacos my stomach can handle. I plan on joining Lifetime Fitness too when I'm there to keep off the weight. I'm down 15 pounds as of today, another 10 to break 200. What about @waterloolouisville? I've been here twice now for the brisket sandwich and never skip their fried pickles. Having a conversation with the creator from Texas was icing on the cake. It's the most authentic spot I've found around town and their rooftop deck is perfect for dates and live music when it's not freezing cold. If you're passing through add it to your list. To my friends in the great state I'll be seeing you soon! read more

Great service! Nice ambiance! Had a Blood Orange Margarita! Simply outstanding. A great place for a cocktail. Food was mediocre at best. Ordered a burger, fries and onion rings. Burger while cooked the perfect temperature had no flavor at all. Bun could use some steam or grilling. Dry dry bun. Frys were not edible and the onion rings came out cold and unspectacular. I came for brunch with a friend. I was greeted promptly and the place wasn't too busy. They had a separate brunch menu from their regular menu. I ordered. Their waffle with eggs and chorizo. I was a little disappointed to find a half of a dry waffle was what was presented. The flavor was actually really good but it was overcooked. The eggs I asked to be scrambled with the chorizo. I was thinking it wasn't going to be what I got. It was ok. It didn't taste or look like chorizo to me. The frustrating thing was at the end I was charged extra for chorizo and that was included as one of the choices of the dish and not listed as an extra charge. They corrected it but it was embarrassing to have to ask. I don't know if I'll be back. read more

The service was wonderful and they accommodated our hunger needs, even with the kitchen closing in 5 minutes. Great ambiance too. Cool spot and vibe. We generally dine at the upstairs bar or on the patio outside. Sometimes we don't make it past a few apps. The spinach artichoke dip is awesome. Add chips or extra bread because they don't give you enough. Beer and spirit collection is excellent. I've had some solid cocktails mixed up for me here. Usually I order the fish sandwich which is excellent. I wish they had a bit more variety and vege options but overall solid restaurant and vibe at the bars and patio. read more

Excellent customer service! But the real reason for the review is because of the Smoke Pastrami Sandwich! I apologize for not taking a picture because it deserves to be seen! I absolutely love Waterloo. Despite living in Boulder, this was always my go-to restaurante spot whenever people came to town. They have a rotating menu but something that's always on the menu is their spicy margaritas - which are drinkable but actually spicy, I wouldn't recommend it if you don't like a kick. I've had several of their sandwiches, all of which have been delicious - burgers included. Their sweet potato friends are amazing, sometimes if my meal doesn't come with them (which you can substitute), I'll order a side. The food is good year round, but they have fun rooftop patio seating in the summer months. read more

Ambience good...had a nice shaded area outdoors in front of restaurant. It was hot weather so not that many customers outside, but did not get good service from our waiter. There were 3 of us--we all got fries as a side. All of us agreed they were subpar---and small portions. My bbq brisket sandwich had a gross amount of fat! I wish I had sent it back so they could know it was not acceptable. I'm from Texas and I know good barbecue. Try trimming the excessive amount of fat next time! read more

I really enjoyed this spot. I love the whole ambiance and location. I generally don't care for fried pickles but these were the best I have ever had and the nachos were pretty fantastic. Nice atmosphere, friendly service, and great selection of food and drinks. The heated patio upstairs is very pleasant and convenient if you worry about indoor seating during Covid (masks required inside and surfaces are disinfected between visits). I also appreciate that the staff is always friendly and has no problem giving us separate checks. I only wish Waterloo would take reservations. Last night I had the Wednesday special, Brisket stuffed avocado, delicious (although the beans that came with it were a little boring). I also had the Blueberry-Habanero Margarita, very good and a little spicy as expected. Looking forward to going back! read more

Hmm... this place stumps me. It's by no means bad, but it's not great. Let's start with the positives, and why you may choose this place over others in the area/depending on what your day or night looks like. If you needed a place to grab a beer and a bar appetizer, I'd totally recommend it. The atmosphere is 10 for 10. You can sit inside, out front on the street turned patio or on their rooftop. They've done an excellent job with hiring kind and attentive servers. And, they've never failed on having the best background music playing. Whoever runs their playlist, should get a raise and never be let go. Plus, the onion rings, french fries and jalapeño poppers won't let you down. They will come out crispy, fried and ready to get friendly with some ranch. Now, if you're looking for a meal to write home about, this is not the place. I've had dinner there twice now... each time I've left unimpressed with the meal. There is a chance I may be ordering wrong, so if so, please give me a suggestion on what to try for an entree. I really do want to like this place! This last time we ordered two different burgers from the menu. They both came out under seasoned, drier than a bone, and on standard bland buns. It was a very flavorless experience, and not worth $15. read more

I wish I could give 3.5 stars. This place isn't bad, but I did not find it incredible either. I think it is probably wonderful if you're a drinker, but I'm not. The food was just ok. I ordered the turkey BLT, and they were out of turkey. I did not realize when I ordered, but it has a very interesting mayo and personally was not loving the flavor. Last thing about the sandwich, the bread wasn't toasted and was very crumbly. The restaurant itself has a really cool, eclectic vibe. There's a lot to look at. The space is really large and they even have a rooftop patio. The decor was probably my favorite part. The service was not the best, but I always try to be understanding because you never know what is going on behind the scenes. I ordered a coke and it took at least 30 minutes and pretty sure it was sitting at the bar for awhile but the server was just not remembering. It was hard to get condiments or any extras. It could have just been busy, so not trying to be too harsh on the service aspect. I would love to see some fun, non-alcoholic drinks on the menu!! Also, the table we sat at only had stools and there were no places to put your purse. Would be great to add some hooks under the table or something. read more

This is an adorable spot with a ton of character and I thoroughly enjoyed the decor. I had the opportunity to try their open face brisket sandwich before they sold out for the day and I will note that the brisket was melt in your mouth level and the sweet potato fries hit just the right spot. However I was not a fan of the bread used. It had a bit of an odd flavor for me. All in all still quite the amazing dish. Fully interested in coming back on my next yearly trip out to Louisville read more

Overall / Recommendation: Decent bar food. Decent beer selection. Cute interior, with plenty of seating on lower and upper levels. Nothing pulling you back here though for another visit. Bison Burger: Cooked well. Crispy exterior with medium rare interior. Bun was standard. Fries were on the crispier side, which we preferred. Arugula Salad: Standard. Grilled chicken was the highlight here. Dressing was on the heavier side. Felt like it needed more fillings outside of arugula, beets, and chicken. Other: Service was a bit off-putting and visited our table sparingly, despite the restaurant being at half capacity. read more

I'm giving 3 stars for one reason only. We drove a long way to have a burger which came highly recommended to us. When we got there, we were told that Sundays have a limited menu of only appetizers and burritos. We ended up having wings and a breakfast burrito, which were good, but not what we wanted by any means. I wanted to verify that this is not mentioned anywhere on the website before I left my review. Burritos are listed as a Sunday special, but no mention of the limited menu. While we were there, another two parties left because they didn't know about the special menu. I feel like this should be mentioned more clearly, it was a disappointment, and I don't think we will take another trip up again. read more

Excellent food, service, atmosphere, conversation! We almost left town without eating, but the Texas state flag and Johnny Cash picture outside drew us inside this place. Service was okay, ambiance fine, but the food was another story. I ordered the Waterloo burger which was supposed to be cooked medium per menu unless otherwise specified. I happen to like my burgers medium so that was fine with me. I also asked for extra pickle and onion. My burger came out very well done on a dried out bun, with 3 pickles and 3 onion rings. Price $17.00 My husband ordered this oriental noodle dish $14.00, when they asked what protein he would like with the noodles he said chicken, not even considered they were going to charge another $6.00 on top of the $14.00. So for $20.00 my husband got what looked like a cereal bowl of food (not a full bowl) very little noodles and chicken. He walked out of there still hungry. The amount of food was appropriate for a child serving. Needless to say we will not be back. Go a few doors down to Lulu's BBQ and you'll get a good meal for a good price.
