What could I say that haven't been said about Frascas Food and Wine. We've been here twice, both for special occasions. The first time, we snagged a chef's table in the kitchen and the second, we got a dining room table and went with th tasting menu, which is pictured. The service is impeccable, as is expected of a Michelin starred restaurant, and the food is quiet exceptional. Frascas serves Italian food that is both inventive but traditional. Every dish is well crafted and beautifully presented. The taste is reminiscent of classic Italian flavors but creatively presented. Because of its ever changing seasonal course menu, I don't think it's fair to really review dishes that may not be on the next course menu. However, just know that the food here literally could not miss, and it is a food experience that is a must in the Denver area. To really put it to perspective, we've been to every single Michelin starred restaurant in this area - from Alma Fonda Fina to Wolf's Tailor to Bruto. When it was announced that Michelin will award a restaurant with 2 stars, I fully expected it to be Frascas. And still now, I fully believe that the food here deserves such an award.

We dined here as a family of four for the Feast of the Seven Fishes Christmas Eve dinner. This was not our first time having dinner here, but it was our first time back since the restaurant earn its star. It lived up to expectations in terms of Michelin service and quality. We all enjoyed the variety of the courses and the special attention that was put into this annual event. I think the Arancini Neri and the Crudo were my favorites. We also had the wine pairing which was very good. The owner visited each table and discussed with ours his family history of hosting this dinner and how much it means to him since his father's passing. While I think this special event was memorable for my family, I don't think we'll make a tradition out of it, and I think the regular menu has more to offer than this event menu did.

We dined here after Frasca was announced to have won a star. Truly the food was incredible and our service from Jay and Edmond (?) at the bar was outstanding. The whole menu was lovely and expertly prepared. The manager also stopped by and chatted with us briefly and thanked us for coming in. I also appreciated that they had Aesop soap in the restrooms, such nice soap! From the presentations to the chef skill to the service, everything was great. It is a hefty price to justify for a meal but if you are looking for a dining experience for a special occasion, you cannot go wrong with Frasca.

Excellent service and even better food. Truly enjoyed our dining experience here. We opted for the Quattro piatti and my husband added on the pasta of the day. The only thing I was disappointed about was all dishes that were a part of the fruilano menu (9courses) weren't available of your quarto piatti menu - and I really wanted to try the gnocchi from the fruilano menu. Everything here is amazing and this is truly a special place if you're celebrating something. Highly recommend and I will be back

A truly unique experience in terms of the food. So many dishes felt innovative and you could tell the chef put a lot of thought and planning into each course. However, nothing really stood out in terms of taste. Everything tasted good, but not to the point that I was still thinking about it the next day. The staff did an excellent job and even with a full house, we never felt underserved. The interior is also intimate with a warm atmosphere that makes Frasca a great spot to celebrate a special occasion.

Finally got to treat ourselves to Frasca for my bday! From the moment we entered the restaurant it was like a portal to a luxury experience. The lighting and decor were simple yet elegant. The pheasant wallpaper was my favorite. The staff were all attendant. The food came out prompt. The wine pairings were superb. More about the food: I chose the Quattro Piatti with the half glass wine pairing. The first dish was the blue fin tuna. It was light refreshing, with so much flavor. The next was the Australian wagyu in pasta. The candied mushrooms alongside the sauce and pasta was a savory explosion. We got the chefs pasta which was a braised veal and truffle. Again, stellar. My entree was the monkfish. Again, light, refreshing and flavorful. Dessert was the ciaramacola, which right on par was light, flavorful and refreshing. Our experience here was EPIC. The attention to detail, the finesse of the dishes, the wine pairings were all exceptional. The only thing I regret is not visiting sooner.

Just unreal. Everything we had was 12/10. We had no idea the treat we were in for. We did the four course dinner for $150/pp + one chefs course for the two of us which was perfect Each course was made with love and finesse. Dishes shown in pictures. I don't have one complaint except I wish my belly fit more. Also our friends got the A5 and WOW it was insanely delicious. We were so lucky to get to try a bite. Highly recommend. Service was perfection and the whole inside was adorable. We had a wonderful time! We will be back.

The most underwhelming fine dining experience I've ever had. As a native of Denver for the past 15 years, Frasca in Boulder has always been recommended as a great place to have an amazing meal. I hadn't yet made it out to the restaurant, but once Frasca won this year's James Beard Award for Outstanding Restaurant, I knew we had to book this place! My husband and I have dined in some of the finest restaurants in the world--Noma in Copenhagen; Le Bernadin in NYC; Jose Avillez's restaurantes in Lisbon, the former Casino in Madrid, etc., so we were elated to have a James Beard winning restaurant right in our backyard! We are also big wine lovers, my husband has a WSET Level II wine certification, and we'd heard the wine list here was amazing, so we were excited! This place also has a Michelin star, so we were expecting a wonderful meal. The positives of our experience: the plates were pretty, and the bread service was nice. Service was friendly and pleasant, and they explained each course well. We sat at the bar, and the ambience was good. Overall, however, we were very disappointed with the actual meal. We ordered off the Quattro Piatti menu. Overall, we found most of the dishes to be lacking in flavor--dare I say, they seemed almost directionless when it came to the flavor profiles that were being attempted. We were quite surprised at this outcome, given all the accolades Frasca has garnered as of late. Here are the dishes we experienced, below - The amberjack, which was served carpaccio-style - Reginette di primavera (mafaldine pasta) - Risotto alle nerano - Alaskan halibut - Quail As far as the drinks, my husband found the two wines he ordered to be quite basic--very short of the exceptional wine experience you would expect from such a high-end place serving wine for $30 per glass. I found my cocktails to be underwhelming and poorly mixed as well. I respect the fine dining industry and I understand that individuals work extremely hard to create a fantastic experience. We are also happy to travel and to pay well for an exceptional fine dining experience. Unfortunately, we found the flavor profiles in each of the dishes we experienced at Frasca to be muddled and lacking in depth and complexity. Frasca feels like the type of restaurant that may have been exciting 20 years ago, but with all of the exciting new restaurants popping up on the scene, felt like a relic of an older time. Frasca may be the best fine dining restaurant in Boulder, CO, but it certainly would not win my vote for most outstanding restaurant in America!

I've long loved celebrating the restaurant industry by attending the James Beard Awards, so when Frasca Food and Wine in Boulder was named Outstanding Restaurateur at this year's ceremony on June 16 in Chicago, I knew a return visit was in order. As luck would have it, a 5:00pm reservation popped up for June 28--right when I'd be in Denver--so I grabbed it. From the moment we walked in, the hospitality was on point. General Manager Sergei Kiefel greeted us warmly and escorted us to our table. I mentioned we had just been at the Beard Awards and were thrilled to dine with the Frasca team again. After he left, my daughter leaned over and said, "I think he was sitting in front of us at the ceremony." Sure enough, I pulled up a photo--and there was Sergei, in the exact same suit he was wearing tonight. When I mentioned it, he smiled and said it was his lucky suit. Turns out Bobby Stuckey, Frasca's partner and Master Sommelier, wore his own lucky suit to the awards, too. I'd say those suits did their job. With five of us at the table, we each went for the four-course tasting menu--antipasti, primi, secondi, and dolci--and added the chef's pasta course to make it five. I chose: * Ricciola (amberjack) * Cappeletto Affondato (green and white asparagus) * Ippoglosso (Alaskan halibut) * Braised rabbit rigatoni (chef's pasta) * Mango e Ananas (pineapple dessert) As always at Frasca, every dish showcased the kitchen's precision, artistry, and restraint. The ingredients were pristine, the presentations thoughtful, and the flavors perfectly balanced. Service, led by the outstanding Sarah, elevated the whole experience. Attentive, gracious, and knowledgeable--everything you want when you're celebrating something special. Before you leave, make sure to peek at the wall near the restrooms--lined with two decades' worth of James Beard recognitions. It's a quiet reminder that Frasca isn't just one of Colorado's best--it's among the best in the country.

Frasca Food and Wine Exceptional hospitality--even from the bar We dined at Frasca and ended up sitting at the bar, and honestly, it turned out to be a great way to experience the restaurant. While Frasca is known for its elegant dining room, the bar offered a more relaxed, intimate vantage point without sacrificing any of the quality or attention that makes the place special. The service was warm, knowledgeable, and engaging. Sitting at the bar gave us the chance to interact more directly with the staff, ask questions, and really enjoy the rhythm of the room. We never felt like we were getting a "lesser" experience--if anything, it felt more personal. The food was outstanding, as expected. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared, balanced, and rooted in Northern Italian tradition, with beautiful restraint and precision. Portions were well-paced, flavors were clean and layered, and nothing felt overworked. The wine program is world-class, and even at the bar, the guidance and care around wine was impeccable. Pairings and recommendations felt tailored, not scripted. Frasca manages to feel both refined and welcoming at the same time--a rare balance. Sitting at the bar didn't detract from the experience at all; it simply offered a different, equally enjoyable perspective. A memorable evening, and a reminder that great restaurants shine no matter where you sit.

This was an incredible meal, start to finish. We went with the 9-course tasting menu, and were blown away by the flavors, technique, and service level. Everything was wonderful, but some standout dishes: -White asparagus and preserved citrus topped with sea buckthorn sabayon, langostine butter, and caviar. -Beet penned pasta with smoked eel and trout roe. -American Wagyu with carrot and pistachio purees, morel mushrooms, and berry jus. We opted to do craft cocktails instead of the wine pairing, and they were interesting, imaginative, and complex. Bartenders were informative and attentive. Can't recommend this place enough. I've been to Michelin star restaurants all over the world and this is a top 5 meal for me. Well deserving of the James Beard nomination for best restaurant - I hope they get it.

The food is overall good but quality and portion size don't quite match the price. Had to send back my risotto as it was super undercooked, and the second plate of risotto was as undercooked as the one before. They said that this is how they do it in Italy and as a born and raised Italian that is definitely not how we do it... they did not charge me for it but it was overall a subpar experience with it. The frico, the steak, and the boar ravioli were definitely the best things we tried. The location is very loud, and the space is quite cold. Definitely not a cozy environment, specifically for the price you pay. Excellent service overall though. I don't think it is up to par with other Michelin star restaurants. Also several Italian food items misspelled in the menu... We most likely won't be back.

This was a 7 out of 5-star experience and it was entirely serendipitous. Almost 2 months ago my friend and I planned a 4-day wknd exploring Boulder 7/10--13. These were dates picked because they synched with our schedules. We penciled in some hikes and restaurants (Frasca) along with the perfunctory shopping on Pearl St. About 2 weeks later I bought my $200 rt plane ticket. Days later the James Beard awards were announced and the name Frasca jumped out... winner of THE best restaurant in the U.S. for 2025. A few days later I showed that to my friend and we promptly called to book. Despite being open seven days/week and this being nearly a month out, the only time they still had available was Friday at 5pm (their first seating). We put down a credit card (as they require) and reserved it. A few weeks later I read/learned that Frasca is also one of the few Michelin-starred restaurants in the U.S. At that point I looked up the menu... whoa nelly! The highly recommended 9-course tasting menu is $215 (or about $300/person with tax, tip, and 1 drink). We pondered that for all of 5 minutes. Note: for an additional $175 the 9-course comes with half-glass wine pairings. We are both light drinkers and had plans afterwards, so we opted for a cocktail instead. We arrived 4:50pm and found that half of the metered street parking was vacant. There is no private lot or valet, so this was crucial. There were 3 other small parties waiting and the doors opened just before 5pm. Several men in suits greeted and then escorted us to our corner table. Our main waiter was charming and well-versed in the details of tonight's (otherwise rotating) menu. He explained that all of the dishes and ingredients are designed to conjure the chef's origins - northern Italy and western Slovenia and Croatia. There was the 9-course tasting menu and also a 4-course ($150) option ($80 wine pairings) - but with different dishes which gave us brief pause - before we confirmed the 9-course ensemble. We chuckled at the polite advisory on the menu urging a 2 hr 15 min time limit for dinner. Lending to the elegance of the occasion, every waiter was dressed in a blue suit, and there was a small army of them. They checked in periodically - never annoyingly - ensuring you were never left wanting for anything. Crumbs were scooped, dirty dishes were promptly removed, glasses never ran dry - all as it should be at this quality point. We asked our head waiter which of their craft cocktails he'd recommend that were unconventional. Without hesitation he nominated Ali Di Nettare $22 (gin based with florals and citrus additions) and the Il Mulo Rosso $18 (their riff on the mule with hibiscus and blood orange). Both were excellent, though we slightly preferred the vodka mule. About 10 minutes later the first of our 9 courses arrived. I won't describe each as the menu pics cover that amply but suffice to say we had our favorites. Note: while we arrived deliberately empty-stomached, this meal will not leave you "stuffed" (it's a tasting menu) but you will be satisfied. Her favorites were the peekytoe crab with long green string-bean-shaped pasta; the pork secreto with blueberry and white asparagus; and of course both deserts. My faves were the lobster w/ zucchini custard; the small warm sourdough loaf w/ French butter (x2 :) braised rabbit "ravioli"; and venison medallion. The lone "complaint" we agreed was that the rabbit was too salty. Keep in mind that several of these tastings include 3-4 very different items on that one plate (e.g., the Assaggi appetizers and the pasticcini desserts). So this lone miss was almost trivial overall. Each of the 9-courses were served on very unusual/elegant dishes - prompting us to finally ask about them. We were enthusiastically told that they, too, all originate from the same regions as the food, often custom made (see pics of all 9 courses). Overall, such a rare but worthy treat. Upon finishing we were provided with the bill but told not to rush. We glanced at our watches and noted 2 hours and 10 min had passed... completely unaware. We marveled at how this $600 outing could rival the same "entertainment value" as catching La Traviata in Santa Fe for the same price. We also chuckled at how half of the crowd at Frasca that evening was in their 30s and 40s (techies? dot.comers?) Pro tips: the street parking nearby was full by 6pm and cars were being ticketed. Walking is no biggie for us, but the monsoon rains had just stopped when our dinner ended, so gents, bring some running shoes just in case! Also, they do charge for all of their waters - $10/bottle Pelligrino or Acqua Panna but Boulder's tap is delicious and free.

For steak, it's all about your preference. We opted for the dry-aged cowboy. Super smooth and not very fatty compared to some Chicago steaks we've had recently. Don't skip on the jamon fat fries or the sunchokes! We were too full for dessert but everything looked so delicious - and they use seasonal ingredients!

We went for apps/lunch and drinks. The view is so gorgeous and who doesn't love seeing mountains while enjoying a perfect red sangria? I mean, such good vibes and what a perfect spot to enjoy an afternoon. I can only imagine sunset. We got the pimiento peppers which were so good--the sauce is out of this world. The salad had the best vinaigrette and while I didn't take a picture (I was so excited to eat that I forgot), the steak frites was out of this world. The jamon fat fries were insane. So crispy and so flavorful. But the steak? Woah. Not a big portion, but that's not surprising for tapas! Cooked perfectly, seasoned perfectly-- aka, perfection. I'm so sad I don't live closer to Boulder. If I did, I'd be a regular. You have to go here!! Plus, the service was so good and fast! Our waiter was very kind and attentive. Again, it's tapas so expect dishes to come out when they're ready. So glad we went here. It was the best choice for us to enjoy a little lunch/app/happy hour. Can't wait to come back once I'm in Boulder again!

Booked this for a monday evening for a business dinner. i really wanted to like this restaurant…read moreand there were several things that i did like, but the food was just OK from my perspective. Ambience - this isn't the best place for a business dinner. very quiet/romantic and i felt like our group was out of place there, but no one looked at us oddly. It felt more like we might have been interfering with their romantic vibe as we were talking business. The restaurant and staff present a very inviting atmosphere. Food, this is where i was disappointed. the Bread at the beginning was very good/ with salted butter. I ordered the salted radish appetizer and it honestly just felt like salted radishes on top of a puree that i didn't really care for. So would put this as a 5/10 in terms of rating. I got the rabbit, which was recommended as being the best entree option. i have never had rabbit previously and wanted to try it. I thought it was OK, but not very memorable. It did taste like dark meat chicken. however the chick peas they were served with were underdone (crunchy in texture) and simply not that good. Our dessert, blueberry Tres Leches, was the best of the 3. My dining companions had a variety of things (striped bass, meatballs), but no one was raving about their food. Service was quite nice. would give this more like a 3.5 out of 5, as the atmosphere and service were good. Sadly won't be returning.

What a disappointment - food wise. The concept -- a farm to table restaurant sourced from a local…read more500-acre farm with 430+ varietals is so appealing. However, the kitchen fails to deliver quality or good tasting meals, despite the well-sourced food. The menu is prix fixe. 2 appetizers and an entree, or 1 appetizer, entree and dessert. The salmon tartare was salty, too salty. The kefta balls were over salted as well. The onion tarte shell was so hard it could barely be chipped away to eat. When we mentioned this to our server, the response was we get more complaints about the tarte than any other appetizer. I was surprised to see that the appetizers were all served at the same time, so by the time, I ate the cold salmon, the warm kefta, besides being salty was also cool - might have been more appealing if warmer. The rabbit entree was dry, overcooked and tasteless. The accompanying garbanzo beans were undercooked, crunchy and too salty. The food highlight was the family style vegetables. Beets, onions, asparagus were alright; the sugar snap peas which still had strings were not as good. The dessert were disappointing as the rest of the meal. The macaron was brick hard, so hard, we had to ask for a fork and knife to chip hunks off of it. Tasteless. After we departed, my dinner companion said she wished we had sent the dessert back, it was so hard and inedible that we left most of it. Bramble & Hare has a few things going for it: Service was spot on, attentive, helpful and friendly. The wine list is very good. Ambience is pleasant and the dining room is quiet. I really wanted to like Bramble & Hare as the farm to table concept appeals, but with the poor food preparation, this is a tough restaurant to like.
