This is our second time to eat here since they opened and we are thrilled to have a lively, classy, and amazing Italian restaurant in South Boulder. The Caesar Salad is delicious and fresh. The focaccia is a dinner all by itself with butter and olive oil. We've also had 3 different pizzas that are all fabulous: hot honey, mushroom and clam. Even the Mozzarella stick is a twist on the old stand-by and is delicious! The Negronis are fabulous and I had wonderful Falanghina that will be my new white go-to! We are always greeted and welcomed by friendly staff and when it's your neighbor that's even better! Our server answered our questions and made great recommendations. We will be back until we've tried everything on the menu! Way to go!

Figures a restaurant owned by black belly would be top notch all around. Tiramisu with orange liqueur is amazing. The gf crust is nice, toppings are lovely. Our waitress was professional and kind! Space is busy and popular, a little loud. Food was pricey for what we got though, excited to try other dishes, hopefully they are worth the price.

If Sunday is your thing , know that there's good bar seating availability. Morso vodka rigatoni was great, especially spicy. Enjoy this place especially when the light lessens because bright can be a little much. Olivia, Mae and Maya are so energetic behind the bar and make you feel welcome! Michael showed me how good the soft serve, drizzled w olive oil and flake salt. Bomb. I do want a piccata on the menu. Probably veal is insensitive in Boulder but chicken would fly. Thumbs up, 5 stars, Josea.

Had a fabulous meal here It was nice to see the action of the bar and kitchen, the house was full and the space was quite noisy... Had several apps all of which were great, I enjoyed the meat balls and the calamari. Fooled by a proud of pizzas, one hot honey and a clam pie, both were enjoyable with a great wood fire crust. For entrees we got eggplant parm, chicken parm, chicken Scarpariello and short rib pasta... all were very well excited and I particularly enjoyed the eggplant parm. For dessert we got one of each and shared, the raspberry sorbet and Tiramisu were standouts. Wait staff was on top of everything and the only thing missed in rotation was my wife's wine order which was brought as soon as we mentioned it again. Over all 4.9 stars.

The new Italian restaurant South Boulder is a welcome addition to the restaurant scene down here as there are a lot of ok places but nothing higher end like Morso. I had the chicken marsala which was good and tasty and the Caesar salad, which I thought was excellent. My wife had trout puttanesca which was also excellent. Our only complaint with each of them is that they should come with a starch since it is a Italian restaurant so maybe rather than charge an extra seven bucks for the pasta, just make the meat portion maybe a little less and just include the Pasta.

I loved the big chandeliers and brick wall. Our server, Skylar, was fantastic. She was personable, welcoming, and enhanced the entire dining experience. My friend and I started with the churro donuts to share. These were the perfect sweet treat (because who can have brunch without something sweet for the table?) It comes with a dulce de leche and a coffee anglaise that was so delicious. For my main I went with the fireside eggs. This was exceptional! Flavourful shakshuka with perfectly poached eggs, avocado and feta served alongside naan bread. This meal was comforting and delicious without being overly filling. I can't recommend The Kitchen enough! If I'm ever back in Boulder I will definitely be back. I would love to try the lunch or dinner menu!

There are only two tables on their patio that have an umbrella, so we were sitting in the sun at first and it was getting really hot (but then we were able to snag a shaded table when it freed up shortly after) All of the menu options sounded so good, we started with drinks, I can't remember the name of my cocktail, but it had egg white in it and was so delicious. We ordered the burrata appetizer and all of our means at the same time. Unfortunately, the appetizer never came out, our server for that to put it in. I ended up going with the Bolognese and it was really good so was the steak frites and street cart chicken that my friends had. Their fries are pretty good. The server felt really bad for forgetting about our appetizer and offered us a free dessert instead, so we tried the churro donuts which were ok. I'm still it was a good meal and I would definitely come back if I'm in the Boulder area again soon

River and…read moreWoods has that very specific cozy Boulder atmosphere that somehow feels both rustic and intimate without trying too hard. The whole space feels warm and relaxed in a way that makes you want to stay longer than planned. Food was genuinely very good across the board and the service struck that perfect balance of being attentive without constantly interrupting the table or hovering over conversations. I'd especially recommend it for small groups or date nights because it manages to feel social without getting overwhelmingly loud. Parking is mostly street parking, but we didn't have too much trouble finding a spot nearby.

I think the best thing about River and Woods is the interior and exterior decoration. It is very clear that a lot of thought and time was put into the atmosphere here. From the cute door knocker to the bathroom wallpaper, the theme is well-executed. The food was a bit disappointing. The blue oyster mushroom appetizer was extremely salty. I thought it was just me but the rest of the table agreed as well. My trout was well-cooked and I enjoyed it quite a bit. The chicken was also salty although cooked well. I did not try the burger but I was told it was salty as well. The prices of all the items were quite high for what I thought was presented. Service was good and thankfully our waters were filled frequently for how much water we were drinking due to the high salt content.
