I wanted a state of the art machine, which they had in stock as soon as it was released. So when I checked today I noticed that indeed the price had gone down significantly and sure enough, they gave me a full refund for the difference! Came here on Thanksgiving for their Black Friday sales. It's definitely better to come in and look around rather than search their website, for a few reasons. Mostly, their customer service is phenomenal, it seems like everyone is greeted at entry, spoken to like they've known you for a while and a true great bunch of people who are interested in helping you get exactly what you want at a great price. I had been looking at some speakers and a Pioneer receiver for a while. I have seen the sale prices online and at another big electronic store near by. I can't believe that Video Only had them both beat. Not only do you get a great price, but you get to park right by the door, greeted and helped immediately, rung up, and they help you to your car. I've gone twice in the last week (they need to order a speaker), and I had the same great experience each time. First time I was helped only by Ken (I think was his name), second time was another gentlemen and Ken again. They are fantastic. He remembered the last time I was there and that we spoke about another speaker I was on the fence about. He even offered me a discount on the last pair. I feel like I've missed out on not shopping here before, but I will definitely be visiting them before I make and purchases in the future. No stars for the time it took me to actually get a tv when I was told that it was in "our other store" and should take no time. No stars for the promises and also no stars for me, waltzing in the other day and asking for the floor model just to get the heck out of any relationship with this maudlin location. I swear all the staff look like they were just beaten, the manager has no personality, grunts at staff, and the I never had any real customer service that I could call customer service. I shopped at the San Mateo store when I lived in the Bay Area for 15 years. Since moving to the Roseville Area, I have come down to the Dublin store for my TV and AV needs. I purchased my LG 65 inch OLED TV in 2017 and was given such a great deal that when I decided to upgrade this year I thought of Video Only again. Pushy salespeople and higher prices than Best Buy or Fry's unless you haggle.

I'm finally writing a reiview from infuriating experience at the old location on dublin blvd. The sales rep rudy seemed ligit. turned out to be lying sack. Turned my onto an LG TV 1080p which in 2008 for a 50" was great. I think I paid approx 1500.00 plus 4yr protection plan with Ge.. The TV failed withing the first 3 months. I called the store and Rudy came up with a lot of cock and bull about why the store wouldn't help us. Spoke to the manager and he advised he wouldn't do anything to help either. Told me to call LG and they will "Completely" honor my extended warranty I purchased ($500) LG has the worst customer service (based in Mexico) existing on the planet. I reported green screen, bleeding and picture failure approximately 5 times over a 6 month period. Each time LG managers refused to replace the panel and sent the TV to a repair shop locally , leaving me with nothing to watch for a week at a time. Each time they did the same repair . Each time the panel failed within weeks. Infuriating to escalate with their customer support to a manager with 20 minute wait times. Finally the manufacter warranty expired in 1 yr and GE took over (they owned the 4 yr extended warranty) "Always purchase the extended warrenty " They took one report , went over the repair history on the phone in about 15 minutes, offered to buy us a new TV for the same price or send a check for the original purchase including tax. Long story short,We got a brand new tv with even better features and paid just a little more . Oh and we got the 55" this time NEVER go to video only , unless they've replaced this JA and revamped their policies and evolved their business process. read more

I came here one day to look at some stands for my 52 inch LCD Samsung. I let them know from the beginning my price range because I didnt want to end up having to spend more on the stand than the tv itself. From the beginning, I knew the people here obviously work on commission. I felt it, Kinda felt like I entered a Car dealership. The ads and prices a great and everything, I just dont like how they pressure you into buying something and paying more for something You don't want to in the first place. I never been back since. Zack Furtado, a young sales rep you've got working for you, is a keeper. I've purchased 4 different flat screens from you over the years; the last one in February. The main reason I keep coming back is because you've always got good pricing and a selection greater than my needs. But I must say the service isn't always as predictable. When I walked into the showroom Zack made eye contact with a smile. Then he gave me an indication that he was wrapping it up with a customer and would be right with me. He must have heard me respond that I was 'just looking for something cheap for my office, not too big so take your time.' A few minutes later, Zack came over to where I'd walked comparing the sales on 32 inch screens. After listening to my opinion of the differences he shared he's and we both came to an agreement on one that was way more than I was going to pay. Zack asked me if I'd consider a unit returned by a customer that decided they needed a larger screen, once they set it up in their family room. To his knowledge the unit was 'like new' and the store would allow me to return it if I didn't like it. After talking to a manager he not only got the price reduced to the sale price of the others but a good price on a, flat screen, wall mount to boot. That should be enough to impress most people but as I already said; Video Only, always has great prices. What made me take the time to write this letter was that Zack didn't even ask if I wanted help putting it in my car, he just picked up the unit, carried it out to car for me and waited until I opened the trunk. They have a very low overhead so they can sell top of the line TVs, BluRay Players, Home Theater Systems, etc at ROCK BOTTOM PRICES! I do my homework, and usually know pretty much what model I'm looking for (this time a Samsung 65" 4K KS8000) before making the drive to the Dublin Video Only store, to browse and make sure there's nothing I've missed... not necessarily planning on buying yet. Here comes a bit of a story about my experience with Video Only... I came into this establishment a few weeks ago to replace a subwoofer that had just died on me. I was helped promptly by a salesman who pointed me to a subwoofer which matched my speaker set. I was informed that they didn't have one in stock and that I would have to wait until the end of the week to pick up one that was getting transferred to the store. I decided to go ahead and have that done, and was reassured that I would be getting a phone call when the shipment arrived. I received no such phone call, and went back to the location that following Monday to pick the subwoofer up. I showed up at the location on Monday, only to find out they shipped the wrong subwoofer. I was told that I would have to wait until Tuesday to pick it up. When I came back on Tuesday, I received the subwoofer I originally ordered. I went back to my house that evening and plugged in my subwoofer. Unfortunately it had a defect which caused it to make a loud rumbling noise. I called Video Only the next day and they informed me they would have a replacement ready by Saturday. I came back in on Saturday, only to find out the replacement didn't show up and wouldn't be there until the following Tuesday. Instead they offered me an equivalent at just above cost for my troubles. I took the equivalent. Honestly, I am rather disappointed with this recent experience. Especially considering the last few times I used Video Only, they took care of me. I'll give them 3 stars for now. read more

Purchasing experience was great. Nice to see a smaller guy than Best Buy make it. Now why it only got 2 stars...We purchased our TV about a month before Christmas. Hung it on the wall and enjoyed it. Around Christmas my wife decided the TV was a tad small (I know huh...the wife?!) and we should upgrade. Given that it was Christmas I really didn't have the time to deal with it. So once the dust settled into the new year I gave the company a call and asked for my salesperson (he happens to be the GM too). He was unavailable so left a message with another salesperson explaining the situation and the fact that I understood it was past the 30 day window, but wanted to see if he could work something out. The way the salesperson responded seemed that it wouldn't be a problem but that the GM would need to approve it. Ok, that makes sense. I never received a return phone call...in fact after 3 more phone calls still waiting for a return phone call. I am a reasonable person and understand policies, but at least have the common decency to return a flipping call and tell the person. I thought I had found a new place to buy TV's (when I was younger I used to sell them at a local store so really liked the place). However, if you can't even pick up the phone to communicate with me then...BUZZ...game over. Back to the big box place. read more

I think the people complaining about high prices actually work for Frys! Three years ago I bought 2 TVs from Video Only in Dublin and was very satisfied with my experience. When purchasing new TV my sister insisted I go to Frys. I won't bore you with my bad Frys experience, but they didn't even have the TVs on! When someone finally helped me, the TVs I was comparing weren't hooked up to anything, so I was supposed to make this $1200 decision looking at 1 STATIC PICTURE! I went over to Video Only where I should have gone in the first place! The 47" LG500 (which the Frys guy didn't even know connected to the internet) was $1299 at Frys. Video Only had it for $1179. Maybe because it was Christmas, they threw in free delivery and setup! Frys was going to charge me $179 just for delivery- set up not included- that's another $75! For the money I saved it was like getting the stand for free. The delivery guys called and delivered the TV well within the window. They also removed my old TV and stand. They set it up and taught me how to use the remote. The delivery guys were very courteous, respectful of carpets and other furniture and they understood the product and answered all my questions. I love Video Only and won't be going anywhere else for my video products! read more

Wow! I just don't have enough good things to say about this place. We bought a 50" plasma ere about 2.5 years ago. When we decided this weekend it was time to upgrade our bedroom TVs to flat screens (yes, we still had old school tube TV's) we went right back. First, we got there early and they let us in before they even opened (our 2 year old is an early riser). We were immediately greeted by a very friendly sales person. He was extremely knowledgeable and not at all pushy. We told him what we were after and he showed us our best options. He also didn't try to sell us a bunch of crap we didn't need (like over the top expensive HDMI cables, "calibrations", or over-inflated warranties). I wish I could remember his name so I could suggest him. The sales were great (President's Day weekend) so we were already happy with the prices but to make it even better he gave us a wall mount for my son's TV since we bought two TV's at once. Bought a TV today from video only. It was awesome. A few weeks ago I walked into best buy completely clueless. A guy helped me out, showed me some different options, and I really felt like I didn't know anything more than when I walked in. Just fairly horrible service. Today was COMPLETELY different. Walked in, Sean greeted me quickly, asked me a few questions, found out my price range what I wanted, and off we went. He showed me all sorts of options, pointed out the differences, and then showed me one option that was $500 less than best buy (pulled up the model on one of the tablets so I could see that it was the current price that day). $999 vs $1499 is huge. I got an open box model, saved another $50, got a cheap sound bar that has great performance, and have a fantastic home TV experience now. I loved that I didn't feel any pressure or upsell. I wanted 65" TV's for our bedroom and loft. We wanted the whole set-up: TV's, blueray, soundbar, mounts. Where to go as I was looking at Best Buy, Costco and knew of Video Only. If you need a set-up, go see Ken and he will take care of you. We purchased the 2 LG 65" tvs, Bose soundbar, LG soundbar, swivel mount, wall mounts, Samsung blueray and 4 yr warranty. What a deal. I couldn't have done better at Costco. When you package up at Video Only, you will get a great deal and service. The delivery service worked with me on timing which helped as I was in a bind on timing that scheduled time. And if I had to reschedule, I could do it that morning as they would work with me. I had an issue with an optical cable. Ken helped me as much as he could but soon it came to warranty work. I called and the warranty work was set-up fast (meaning the next week). I have purchased a lot of electronic equipment over the years. And other than Costco and the Apple Store who do not have sales people, most electronic sales reps are fair at best. Instead of being honest they insult you by telling you do not know what you are talking. They often try to intimidate customers in to buying products they do not need. 4K is a great example of a technology that is not only unnecessary there is little difference actually in picture quality. Of course most electronic stores rig the TV's by displaying content always in Bluray so you cannot see how these TVs perform differently on the type of equipment most people have in their homes. Best Buy has some of the worst misinformed sales people but they are not alone. Video Only in my experience is one of the more honest retailers but not everyone is perfect there either. The lesson is today's consumer must be informed and do not put your decision in the hands of the salesperson. It's your fault if you walk in to any electronics store and are walking in uninformed. At the very least read Consumers Reports and sure you understand the retailer you are shopping at return policy. And if you are not sure take notes while you are at the electronics store and go home and research what you have learned. I recently dealt with Marty at Video Only. He did a very good job. I ordered a Third TV that did not come in when I was told it arrive. No one called me from Video Only to let me know the TV did not come in. Marty apologized and offered to sell me a different TV with an extra discount. I could have gotten all pissed off at Marty but that's a waste and I was rewarded for what happened. I will go back to Video Only or Costco for all my TV's. Don't waste your time at Best Buy. read more

Called and spoke to Dandy regarding a Samsung T V. Asked about price..... Was told the price was for this day only? I asked some additional questions and said I was on my way in to purchase. I then asked if the item was in stock? I was told no, but they were waiting for the Samsung truck. I asked how long it may take to get the TV? I was told she didn't know. The reason I wanted to clarify is I bought a LG big screen from here long ago. At the time, they offered a blu ray player with purchase. It took several trips (6) before I received the blu Ray player. I understand being sold out, or that the item was on back order. Problem is they were snotty and indifferent about my multiple trips! So, when they said the price on the Samsung was for today only.....and the price would be higher tomorrow I began to drive out to make the purchase only to learn it was out of stock, and they didn't know when it would be available. After my Onkyo receiver burned up, I was shopping for a new one. I read reviews online and tried to decide what to get. My BFF was also looking too and we ended up at Video Only in Dublin. He is the most anal obsessive questioner about every little detail. When we walked in to look around, Nathan Austin approached us and the barrage began, does it do this, does it do that. For over an hour and a half my friend beat this guy up over the details and he knew them all. After listening to them go back and forth, I made my decision too. I had to leave before he purchased his equipment, but I came back to buy mine. I found Nathan and he sold me a Yamaha RX-V671, I got it home and I couldn't get it to work with my phone like Nathan said. I was very frustrated .On the 29th day, I called him up and told him that even the Yamaha support team couldn't get my iPhone app to work and they thought something was defective. He had me bring it in and swapped it out no questions asked, he even told me to call him if I had any questions. I got it home and it works great, I love the iPhone App controller. It does everything he said it would. I also got a great deal on a Pano-Plasma and B-Ray Player. I was given a great deal at the onset of our transaction. We purchased a Samsung 3-D 65" Plasma along with the Blueray 3-D player. Afterwords we had some issues with the Blueray player, which Samsung's so called service Tech's could not address. We took the player to (mgr) Ricky at the Dublin store (who sold us the units) he not only gave us a great deal initially. But solved our issue with the player. I would recommend this store and the sales people over any other outlet in the area.
