This store offers the worse service I have ever experienced. I just purchase a new phone here. It took them "forever" to get it together and I spent a lot of time just waiting. There was a time when they would set up a new phone as part of the purchase. Now they just toss it into a bag, hand it to you and tell you to set it up yourself. Basically when it comes to the phone "set up", you're "on your own". So let me tell you about the Verizon store in Santee, poor poor customer service. So I purchased a phone for my wife, I did this over the phone that night before, made sure there were problems with her picking up, gave Verizon all the info they needed for her to pickup. I asked them to make notes so she would not have a problem. The Santee manager is the worst! (A Manager mind you!) They would not give my wife the phone without me there (I'm not anywhere near them) or without my credit card, they claimed "security reasons". I called and asked them to call Verizon and they would straighten this out (one would think that they would work with us, nope) she would not calm Verizon, not even after being a customer with Verizon for over 33 years! she was rude and made my wife feel that we were not good enough to handle, she walked away from my wife while she was talking to her (unreal to me) they have crap for customer service skills. Do not do business with the Verizon store in Santee. The managers name was either alma or Dolores, I apologize if I'm wrong on the name, but someone should look into this. If I could give a Zero, I would. This store has a zero customer service skills or training. Some lady there (we did not get her name nor was she wearing a name tag) came out and told us the store was closed, it was 5:02 pm and according to everything online the store was open until 8pm. We asked if we could pick up the phone we ordered and she very rudely said no and said they open at 10am Saturday. Needless to say we were not happy. Next day we go back to pick up the phone and same rude lady says "we are not allowed to touch phones" when we asked for help in setting up phone. Now this is Bullshit because I was there on July 10th and got a new phone and was helped in store by someone who went through everything in getting my new phone set up. The phone we ordered this time was for my son to replace his old 4 year old phone. Now we are trying to set up new phone and nothing works, verizon tech support will not answer. If you cannot provide full support in stores, just close the damn stores down. furthermore, train your employees on customer services skills, something I have an extensive background in and none of them (except the one that helped be back on July 10th) have any common customer service skills and should be working elsewhere. When our new phones are a paid off...rest assured we are done with Verizon and will be switching carriers. This store is the reason. It used to be well managed with friendly and HELPFUL people. I've been to this store before and I only came back because I live in the area and tried the Mission Valley store and they wouldn't help. I needed help with icons and a Screensaver I bought. The first young guy wouldn't even look at my phone and asked another guy to help me . The older man was helping a family and I waited a very long time and saw that he would not be available. People started coming in and I knew I wasn't going to be helped because they didn't sign me in. The 2nd young man was too busy on his phone and helped a woman with her phone but never asked if he could be of help to me. Surely there is someone that would rather work than talk on their phone. I'm so tired of Verizons lack of customer service. I tried the chat and two people just asked questions but didn't know enough to help. My friends phone fell in the pool and we went to this store. The guys that greeted us were very nice. Sammy was the person that assisted us. He was able to see if the phone had insurance and assisted my friend with the whole claim process. He also helped my friend activate an older phone. Do NOT trust this store or the General Manager of this store to do the right thing for you as a customer!!! Be EXTREMELY careful of all transactions that you make at this store because they will NOT treat you with respect or a solution to your problem. I bought a new iPhone XS and they offered me a promo to trade in my old iPhone for an iPad and the Sales Rep removed the screen protector off my old iPhone without my permission and it ended up breaking my screen so I was unable to exchange my iPhone for the iPad and they wouldn't let me return my unopened iPad because it was after the 14 day window which was not verbally told to me. I also didn't get a copy of my receipt that stated this. I was told I had 30 days to return my iPhone so I wouldn't be charged $300 for the iPad. I don't have the $300 to pay for the iPad and the General Manager wouldn't make an exception knowing the whole situation and I've been a customer of Verizon since 1995! I'm now locked into a contact with them for two years and can't change carriers because of this! ABSOLUTELY pathetic! I was a customer here a couple years back and had very bad experiences. So much so that I decided to try out Sprint. Sprint was AWFUL. My dad asked me to submit this review for him since he doesn't have a computer. Here's what he said, "My wife and I purchased a phone on March 4th for my wife. Every time she used it she was told by the people she was talking to that the phone sounded really bad and that something was wrong with it. We took the phone back to the store today, two days after buying it. We would have done an exchange but they didn't have that phone available anymore. And so we decided to just do a return. They said we could do a return but that we'd have to pay a $50 restocking fee. They didn't tell us that when we bought it and we shouldn't have to pay a restocking fee on a phone that doesn't work properly. My wife is wheel chair bound and I'm 81 years old, a cancer survivor, have had open heart surgery, and had a stroke making it difficult for me to speak and yet they wouldn't do anything to help. We are seniors on a very limited budget and yet they want to charge us $50 to return a phone that wasn't working properly. Shame on this store and shame on Verizon." read more

Verizon Wireless must hire two different kinds of employees...those that work in corporate office and those that deal directly with the public in person. After dealing with the wonderful Kate, in Verizon customer service section, "She Who Must Be Obeyed" and I were able to work with the delightful Brynn, also in customer service. As promised by Kate, the new cell phones, blue tooth, and car chargers arrived on the following Tuesday. SWMBO and I decided not to deal with them until my day off, last Friday. SWMBO gave me the initialization instructions and told me to do my phone first and when everything was done, do hers. So, I dialed the 800 number, followed the steps, and when I got to the end, was asked, "Do I want to initialize another phone?" I answered yes and initialized SWMBO's. "Okay," I said, "Both phones are initialized." SWMBO screeched, "What do you mean both phones have been initialized? I told you to do your phone first and then do my phone last!" "Right, I initialized mine and then initialized yours." "So, you did everything that needed to be done to yours, like transferring your address book, copying pictures, and anything else that needed to be done?" "Errrrgh. I guess it's a good thing I have Kate's number." So, I dialed the number Kate had given me and got her voice mail, but was given the option of getting another customer service agent. That's where the delightful Brynn answered the phone. I explained to her our situation. That I had followed the instructions on the letter that came with the phones and had initialized both cell phones. Brynn chuckled and said, "Yes, doesn't really work that way. Okay, first you have to re-initialize the old cell phones and then follow the steps to transfer your address book. She started with SWMBO's phone and within five minutes, SWMBO was up and running. Then it was my turn. I turned on the old phone and went into the "Tools on the Go" menu and clicked on "Get New Apps." After about three minutes, the phone said, "Unable to connect." Brynn said, "Shouldn't do that. Try it again." And, had the same results. Then Brynn said the words I dreaded hearing, "You are going to have to take it to the retail store." "NOOO! There must be some other way?" I pleaded. "Well, you can always do it manually and just input them one at a time." Really? Well, I am that lazy. So, I thanked Brynn for all her help and SWMBO and I drove over to the Santee retail store. I walked into the Santee store and was greeted by their one decent employee. The door greeter seems to be Verizon's one per store--good natured employee. What your problem? How can we help you? Is everything going your way? Are you having a super day? I explained that we had just gotten new phones and I wasn't able to transferring the address book and pictures to the new phone. "No problem," he said, "just take it back to customer service." And, I could swear there was a brief evil grin. Grudgingly, I slowly walked to the back of the store. A giant awaited me there. "Can I help you?" he boomed at me. "Well, I just got this new phone and want to transfer my address book and pictures to it from the old phone." "Give them to me." I handed the phones to him and they looked like Tylenol tablets in his hand. He carried them to the back counter to the "transfer machine" and plugged in the old one. Pressed a button and stared at the machine for several minutes. He unhooked the phone and brought it back to our counter. "Did you activate the new phone?" "Can't you tell?" I wanted to ask him, but was afraid he might hurt me. "Well, I was playing with the blue tooth on the way over and the new phone had to be active." Grumbling underneath his breath, he typed slowly on the computer, his fingers so fat it was hard to hit only one key at a time. "What is your phone number?" He entered it and stared at the display. Then he picked up my phone and with a pencil typed in *228 send; then stared some more. After about three minutes, he looked at me again and asked what the phone number is? I told him again. Finally, he apparently did what ever he needed to do and plugged the phone back in to the machine. Apparently, this time he got it right and, several minutes later, brought both phones back. Although, not as bad as the El Cajon store experience for me. I did over hear a couple other customer's problems, which I thought could have been easily handle, but left the customers feeling frustrated. Hopefully, with the upgraded phones, I won't have to use the retail stores again. read more

Today, I walked into Verizon to activate my new iPhone 5 after waiting 3 weeks to receive it in the mail. Since I am not an authorized user on my account, I brought my stepdad to assist me in this process. Originally, we had asked for someone specific to help us because he had helped us in the past and was very helpful. Unfortunately, he had switched stores and we were hesitant to work with someone else because our situation was more complicated than most. In the beginning, Veronica spoke to her co-workers to make sure she was clear on how to help us. They gave her the information she needed so we stayed at the Santee store for her to help us out. Out of no where, she began to give us an attitude. We had to call customer service and while on the phone she seemed completely uninterested in dealing with us any further. She asked us to step aside to ring another guest up and she had a rude look on her face, you could tell she was annoyed. She kept walking away during the phone call which showed she was even more annoyed that we were tying up her phone line. After we finished up the call, she was no where to be found. She had gone to the back and wasn't there to make sure we were satisfied or helped out. My stepdad is a very successful business man and I have worked in customer service for over 4 years and I have never seen such poor service at a Verizon store. We have been valued customers and have spent a lot of money in this location and its a shame that they have people like Veronica working there. I even considered buying accessories there for my phone but after that service, I took my money elsewhere. From now on, I will visit another location. read more

I was looking for a new Verizon store because I had received depressing customer service on more than occasion from the store closest to my home. I decided to try the Santee store. So glad I did! Lamar was positive, personable, patient, professional, and courteous. He was not pushy at all, giving us very helpful, straightforward advice on the most efficient and economical way to deal with my new phone. Great credibility established right there! And Lamar was so knowledgeable about transferring data and the inner workings of my old and new phones. Really impressed with his understanding of phone hardware, software, and Verizon's service. He went out of his way to make sure all of our questions were answered and all of our phone needs met. Employees like Lamar make it a pleasure doing business at the Santee store. It took me almost 3 hours online with Chat assistance to order a new phone online. I indicated I wanted to pick it up from the store in Santee. However, at the store I was told that they would not honor the $100 online discount because the special was no longer in effect. I opted not to purchase the phone and checked online when I got home, low and behold the discount was still available online. The Santee Verizon Store is the worst! Previously I bought my I Phone and the girl lost all of my contacts and set my phone up wrong. She had no clue what she was doing. Today against my better judgement I went back to the Santee Store. I bought a watch and it could not be paired to my I Phone because I had not done the updates (bad on me), in the end I asked for my money back and FRANK THE MANGER (who is a joke) would not give me all of my money back. I had not taken possession of the watch, I had not even touched the watch - but he can charge you at HIS DISCRETION if there will be a restocking fee of $35. He didn't like my husband and I because we got upset and were not quiet about it, so he charged me $35.00. He did not have to charge that, he chose to charge us. I called Verizon Corporate and I now have a $35 refund from them. So I do win in the end. I want to warn you NOT TO GO TO THE SANTEE VERIZON STORE IN THE SANTEE TOWN CENTER LOCATION. Stay away from FRANK, the manager as he will charge you if he can. Frank has no idea about what customer service means. This happened back in Jan/21. One of the worst costumer service experiences I've ever had. First of all, I called ahead of time to make sure that the store does take walk-ins, which they say they do. So I went to this Verizon (Santee) store with my mother and at the front door we see a sign that reads "wait outside for assistance." It's raining outside with no cover and we don't see any other customers inside with the 2 employees we see so we decided to walk-in. Upon entering we received no greeting nor welcome, instead we received "one of you must wait outside because we can't have more than 7 people in the store at one time." At first I thought this employee named "Tony" was joking because there was only 4 people including us inside at the time. Tony then says something like "we have other employees here in the back room and due to covid one of you has to wait outside because I can only handle one customer at a time." Which is ridiculous because my mother and I were there together for the same reason, getting a new phone. Anyway I give my mother my car keys so she can be inside my car and out of the rain because of how stupid and inconvenient this store's policy is. Then 3 other employees come out of the back room doing nothing but goofing around together, while Tony is telling me this and that about trading my phone for the upgrade which I came there to do. But I all can think about is how full of CRAP this place is and the lack of RESPECT from their employees. Their idea of customer service is making you do all the work, what they should've done is have one of their employees wait outside in the rain... don't bother wasting your time at this place it's a joke! read more

I purchased my iphone 5 at this location in July and had an awesome experience! However my iphone stopped working a couple of weeks ago, so I went in to see what the problem was! After hanging out for about 30minutes, I decided to leave my phone there and come back. When I returned the manager on duty suggested that I make an appointment at the Apple Store to get a replacement. I followed his instruction and drove to Fashion Valley.
