FIRST OF ALL THEY MADE EVERYONE WAIT OUTSIDE, NO CHAIRS IN 94 DEGREE WEATHER. Finally a guy comes out and is obnoxious to me and another man there. I ask why we have no chairs, and have to stay outside, then he gives me an ultimatum "Do you want to sign in or should I go back inside." no once or twice but 3 times he says this to me. Then when I went inside I was hassled about how I wear my mask, I barely tuck my nose at the edge. I have lost part of my right lung due to a blood clot, and so I don't absorb oxygen as well as most people I tell the woman and she say you need a doctors note. This is a phone store and they are asking me to get a Dr note. They won't take my word for it. Then the lady freaks out and say I will have to leave. Finally they win and I have to pull up the mask to get my husbands phone infor switched over to a new device. Before it's all done, the girl says just keep them together and it will finish on it's own you can go now, very dismissively. So I get home and guess what! I didn't complete, and it wasn't switched over. I then have to spend a half hour on hold for customer service, they close and i"m left hanging on the line. Then the next morning I call again to complete the operation. It took over 3 hours to go through all the technical support, in the end I figured out the problem on my own and was able to re transfer all the data over. NO THANKS TO ANYONE AT VERIZON. I told the young man who was being rude to me and giving me ultimatums that he was being rude, and don't you dare give me ultimatums. He blew me off and shuffled me to a different Girl to help me at the store, The manager Dolores was just as rude, in refusing to listen to the fact that I have breathing problems. They may have best coverage of service, but they are the worst in all areas of working with their customers. read more

This place is just a hassle. Went in for an upgrade at 10:30 and didn't get out until 12:20. Not exaggerating. They have only three people working and the place is packed, and one person standing at the front pacing around - who could be helping when they have downtime. But instead It took near two hours for me to do a simple upgrade. I even tried to use their machine to upgrade my phone which kept giving an error message and the employees could not fix it. The employee helping me said it would be faster if I just backed the phone up myself at home, and my service would automatically transfer... so I left. I backed up my old and new phone, and there was no service on either of my phones. I had to drive all the way back just for them to give me trouble and tell me I need someone that's authorized on the account to come in. I would give a ZERO rating if I could. Went in today to explore about getting a Note10. The person helping me appeared not interested in helping me. She did not offer any suggestions on lowering my bill or getting any other phones as possible alternatives. The trade in value on my old phone was insulting. Everytime I've gone to the Santee store, I'd had problems. Customer service is awful. Unfortunately, it would be a big deal to switch out of Verizon. Otherwise I'd go with another carrier who cared. I visited this store with my 83-year-old mom-in-law to upgrade her dying flip phone. Patrick helped us get a new flip phone (yes, a flip phone!). He also helped change our monthly plan so it was cheaper. He didn't try to upsell (which was great because my mom-in-law can't see, so she truly just needs a simple flip phone where she can feel the buttons on the phone). Verizon Santee is NOT my favourite place and should not be yours. We made an order at the end of April for curbside pick up. Went 3 days later to pick up and checked in at a slot....and waited. We were 2nd in line, then first.....still waiting...and waiting. Went into a full store and was told (sarcastically aparently by the manager) that we had to let them know we were there. We checked in at curbside and have been waiting for over 30 minutes. The woman told me our name was not on her list...went to get our order. I had a picuture of my id and the physical card I used to pay and it was not accepted. So Kevin got the dog and showed his id. She looked at the list and said he wasnt on the account. His licesnse says his first and Middle name, but he goes by his middle name...I pointed to his name on her screen..she refused. We got into an arguement..words were exchanged. WE apologized and then she said "You are done here and another worker " you are not welcome here anymore" and they walked away and canceled the order. On line the order said it was canceled 4.28, even though the incident happened 4.30. It has been over 2 weeks and a refund has not been issued. I called last week for an update and was told they were not sure, but normally I would have to deal with the store. I told the representative what happened and it was agreed that I should not have to deal with the store. He filled out an investigation and gave me a ticket. I called back today, because a refund still has not been issued. May 11, the investigation was closed becasue with curbside pickups the refunds have to be issued in store. I am not sure where the part that they said we werent welcome there was dropped; however, I explained, again, to the phone rep that I was not comfortable going to the store. She tried to contact them, and got no response. She said she would try again tomorrow. So, here I am waiting for over $200 to be put back into my account and the store is not doing their duty. This store offers the worse service I have ever experienced. I just purchase a new phone here. It took them "forever" to get it together and I spent a lot of time just waiting. There was a time when they would set up a new phone as part of the purchase. Now they just toss it into a bag, hand it to you and tell you to set it up yourself. Basically when it comes to the phone "set up", you're "on your own". So let me tell you about the Verizon store in Santee, poor poor customer service. So I purchased a phone for my wife, I did this over the phone that night before, made sure there were problems with her picking up, gave Verizon all the info they needed for her to pickup. I asked them to make notes so she would not have a problem. The Santee manager is the worst! (A Manager mind you!) They would not give my wife the phone without me there (I'm not anywhere near them) or without my credit card, they claimed "security reasons". I called and asked them to call Verizon and they would straighten this out (one would think that they would work with us, nope) she would not calm Verizon, not even after being a customer with Verizon for over 33 years! she was rude and made my wife feel that we were not good enough to handle, she walked away from my wife while she was talking to her (unreal to me) they have crap for customer service skills. Do not do business with the Verizon store in Santee. The managers name was either alma or Dolores, I apologize if I'm wrong on the name, but someone should look into this. If I could give a Zero, I would. This store has a zero customer service skills or training. Some lady there (we did not get her name nor was she wearing a name tag) came out and told us the store was closed, it was 5:02 pm and according to everything online the store was open until 8pm. We asked if we could pick up the phone we ordered and she very rudely said no and said they open at 10am Saturday. Needless to say we were not happy. Next day we go back to pick up the phone and same rude lady says "we are not allowed to touch phones" when we asked for help in setting up phone. Now this is Bullshit because I was there on July 10th and got a new phone and was helped in store by someone who went through everything in getting my new phone set up. The phone we ordered this time was for my son to replace his old 4 year old phone. Now we are trying to set up new phone and nothing works, verizon tech support will not answer. If you cannot provide full support in stores, just close the damn stores down. furthermore, train your employees on customer services skills, something I have an extensive background in and none of them (except the one that helped be back on July 10th) have any common customer service skills and should be working elsewhere. When our new phones are a paid off...rest assured we are done with Verizon and will be switching carriers. This store is the reason. It used to be well managed with friendly and HELPFUL people. I've been to this store before and I only came back because I live in the area and tried the Mission Valley store and they wouldn't help. I needed help with icons and a Screensaver I bought. The first young guy wouldn't even look at my phone and asked another guy to help me . The older man was helping a family and I waited a very long time and saw that he would not be available. People started coming in and I knew I wasn't going to be helped because they didn't sign me in. The 2nd young man was too busy on his phone and helped a woman with her phone but never asked if he could be of help to me. Surely there is someone that would rather work than talk on their phone. I'm so tired of Verizons lack of customer service. I tried the chat and two people just asked questions but didn't know enough to help. My friends phone fell in the pool and we went to this store. The guys that greeted us were very nice. Sammy was the person that assisted us. He was able to see if the phone had insurance and assisted my friend with the whole claim process. He also helped my friend activate an older phone. I feel like Sammy went above and beyond with his customer service to us. We need more people like Sammy. read more

Verizon Wireless must hire two different kinds of employees...those that work in corporate office and those that deal directly with the public in person. After dealing with the wonderful Kate, in Verizon customer service section, "She Who Must Be Obeyed" and I were able to work with the delightful Brynn, also in customer service. As promised by Kate, the new cell phones, blue tooth, and car chargers arrived on the following Tuesday. SWMBO and I decided not to deal with them until my day off, last Friday. SWMBO gave me the initialization instructions and told me to do my phone first and when everything was done, do hers. So, I dialed the 800 number, followed the steps, and when I got to the end, was asked, "Do I want to initialize another phone?" I answered yes and initialized SWMBO's. "Okay," I said, "Both phones are initialized." SWMBO screeched, "What do you mean both phones have been initialized? I told you to do your phone first and then do my phone last!" "Right, I initialized mine and then initialized yours." "So, you did everything that needed to be done to yours, like transferring your address book, copying pictures, and anything else that needed to be done?" "Errrrgh. I guess it's a good thing I have Kate's number." So, I dialed the number Kate had given me and got her voice mail, but was given the option of getting another customer service agent. That's where the delightful Brynn answered the phone. I explained to her our situation. That I had followed the instructions on the letter that came with the phones and had initialized both cell phones. Brynn chuckled and said, "Yes, doesn't really work that way. Okay, first you have to re-initialize the old cell phones and then follow the steps to transfer your address book. She started with SWMBO's phone and within five minutes, SWMBO was up and running. Then it was my turn. I turned on the old phone and went into the "Tools on the Go" menu and clicked on "Get New Apps." After about three minutes, the phone said, "Unable to connect." Brynn said, "Shouldn't do that. Try it again." And, had the same results. Then Brynn said the words I dreaded hearing, "You are going to have to take it to the retail store." "NOOO! There must be some other way?" I pleaded. "Well, you can always do it manually and just input them one at a time." Really? Well, I am that lazy. So, I thanked Brynn for all her help and SWMBO and I drove over to the Santee retail store. I walked into the Santee store and was greeted by their one decent employee. The door greeter seems to be Verizon's one per store--good natured employee. What your problem? How can we help you? Is everything going your way? Are you having a super day? I explained that we had just gotten new phones and I wasn't able to transferring the address book and pictures to the new phone. "No problem," he said, "just take it back to customer service." And, I could swear there was a brief evil grin. Grudgingly, I slowly walked to the back of the store. A giant awaited me there. "Can I help you?" he boomed at me. "Well, I just got this new phone and want to transfer my address book and pictures to it from the old phone." "Give them to me." I handed the phones to him and they looked like Tylenol tablets in his hand. He carried them to the back counter to the "transfer machine" and plugged in the old one. Pressed a button and stared at the machine for several minutes. He unhooked the phone and brought it back to our counter. "Did you activate the new phone?" "Can't you tell?" I wanted to ask him, but was afraid he might hurt me. "Well, I was playing with the blue tooth on the way over and the new phone had to be active." Grumbling underneath his breath, he typed slowly on the computer, his fingers so fat it was hard to hit only one key at a time. "What is your phone number?" He entered it and stared at the display. Then he picked up my phone and with a pencil typed in *228 send; then stared some more. After about three minutes, he looked at me again and asked what the phone number is? I told him again. Finally, he apparently did what ever he needed to do and plugged the phone back in to the machine. Apparently, this time he got it right and, several minutes later, brought both phones back. Although, not as bad as the El Cajon store experience for me. I did over hear a couple other customer's problems, which I thought could have been easily handle, but left the customers feeling frustrated. Hopefully, with the upgraded phones, I won't have to use the retail stores again. read more

Today, I walked into Verizon to activate my new iPhone 5 after waiting 3 weeks to receive it in the mail. Since I am not an authorized user on my account, I brought my stepdad to assist me in this process. Originally, we had asked for someone specific to help us because he had helped us in the past and was very helpful. Unfortunately, he had switched stores and we were hesitant to work with someone else because our situation was more complicated than most. In the beginning, Veronica spoke to her co-workers to make sure she was clear on how to help us. They gave her the information she needed so we stayed at the Santee store for her to help us out. Out of no where, she began to give us an attitude. We had to call customer service and while on the phone she seemed completely uninterested in dealing with us any further. She asked us to step aside to ring another guest up and she had a rude look on her face, you could tell she was annoyed. She kept walking away during the phone call which showed she was even more annoyed that we were tying up her phone line. After we finished up the call, she was no where to be found. She had gone to the back and wasn't there to make sure we were satisfied or helped out. My stepdad is a very successful business man and I have worked in customer service for over 4 years and I have never seen such poor service at a Verizon store. We have been valued customers and have spent a lot of money in this location and its a shame that they have people like Veronica working there. I even considered buying accessories there for my phone but after that service, I took my money elsewhere. From now on, I will visit another location. read more

My dad asked me to submit this review for him since he doesn't have a computer. Here's what he said, "My wife and I purchased a phone on March 4th for my wife. Every time she used it she was told by the people she was talking to that the phone sounded really bad and that something was wrong with it. We took the phone back to the store today, two days after buying it. We would have done an exchange but they didn't have that phone available anymore. And so we decided to just do a return. They said we could do a return but that we'd have to pay a $50 restocking fee. They didn't tell us that when we bought it and we shouldn't have to pay a restocking fee on a phone that doesn't work properly. My wife is wheel chair bound and I'm 81 years old, a cancer survivor, have had open heart surgery, and had a stroke making it difficult for me to speak and yet they wouldn't do anything to help. We are seniors on a very limited budget and yet they want to charge us $50 to return a phone that wasn't working properly. Shame on this store and shame on Verizon." read more

I was looking for a new Verizon store because I had received depressing customer service on more than occasion from the store closest to my home. I decided to try the Santee store. So glad I did! Lamar was positive, personable, patient, professional, and courteous. He was not pushy at all, giving us very helpful, straightforward advice on the most efficient and economical way to deal with my new phone. Great credibility established right there! And Lamar was so knowledgeable about transferring data and the inner workings of my old and new phones. Really impressed with his understanding of phone hardware, software, and Verizon's service. He went out of his way to make sure all of our questions were answered and all of our phone needs met. Employees like Lamar make it a pleasure doing business at the Santee store.
