So I go there to exchange my phone, Rebecca was transferring my info from my old phone to the new one, I was kind of in a hurry, alma comes and tells Rebecca that we don't do transfer info from one phone to another, it's customer responsibility to do it. I was like wow really, so I contacted Verizon corporate and they assure me that it's part of their job to do it, filed a complaint and waiting to hear back from them regarding this issue. I'm noticing a trend at this location with dishonestly. I guess anything to make a sale. Servers months ago I had added s phone to our package for my mom. It was a really good deal. The phone was free and the cost of the line was 10.00. My husband was just looking at the bill with wondering what these charges were. 40.00 payment towards the "free phone" I was very clear with the salesperson about what we needed price wise for her phone. It was supposed to cost us 10.00 and instead it was 50.00. My son just broke his phone so he brought it in to make a claim. They told him his phone was part of the payment and he only needed to pay another 250.00. So he did. Well, out bill came and we owed 500.00 additional for the phone. It sounds like they say anything to make a sale. read more

Whatever you do don't come here! I came in Friday to get new phones. Was there for 4 hours trying to get my phone set up. Their system went down and they were closing and couldn't ring me up for the phones. That's all we had left to do. The system going down isn't their fault. So I came in two days later to just pay for the phones and leave and they wanted me to wait after 4 people. I literally waited 4 hours the other day and you can't just ring up my phones and send me on my way. Nope and i asked for a manager and they never had a manager come and talk to me. I don't know if the manager was scared to come and talk to me but it's disrespectful for a manger not coming out to greet an upset customer. Lamar is amazing! He is extremely patient and very, very helpful. He took very good care of my father who is 87 years old and was getting his first smartphone. We are very happy with the service that we received from Lamar. We however would not recommend Verizon Santee to anyone. When we first arrived we asked if my father, again he's 87 and uses a cane, could use the bathroom. They directed him four doors down and across a street to a pizza restaurant. Humans should treat other humans with much more respect. Especially elders. The only reason that we even stayed at this horrible store was because it was the only one that had the phone we needed. Hopefully Lamar will find a different Verizon to transfer to. (Grossmont Center Verizon is AWESOME!! Long story short... I go to the Verizon Kiosk ( I won't mention where because Verizon needs to take responsibility for this employees training) and ORDER an IPHONE because the one I wanted was not in stock. NO problem, they HONOR the Black Friday deal, even on orders of new phones. MARVIN is his name completely messes up my current Samsung Galaxy phone because he has no idea how to order a new phone from Verizon. He advises me to start my Trade In process at home, same day. Which does not work. He shut down my phone capabilities on my phone because he copied the IMEI number of my new IPhone into the Device ID of my Galaxy phone on the Verizon website. I spent an hour on the phone with a wonderful representative helping correcting MARVIN's mistake. So now, i go to do the Trade In as MARVIN instructed and the Device ID on My Verizon does not match my Device ID on my actual Galaxy. I cannot do a trade in. I called Verizon AGAIN and use the Chat process this time. What a waste of time. The rep cannot use proper English Sentence structuring thus, i have to ask for more clarification on their responses. He tells me, after 20 minutes of confusing chatting, that i have to call the 800 number for Trade Ins. I call the Trade In department and the Device ID on my Galaxy is no where to be found on my account, thus, cannot do the trade in. so now i have to call the Verizon Customer SERvice number and speak to a lovely lady who is very helpful. However, I figure out in our conversation that without the new phone, i cannot process the Trade In because MARVIN screwed up my Device numbers. What an absolute waste of my time. I am so disappointed. i have never had any problem with Verizon in the 10 or 12 years we have had with them. this all started with MARVIN. VERIZON AT THIS LOCATION HAS A GUY NAMED PATRICK THAT KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE and is a COMPLETE IDIOT when it comes to knowledge about Verizon's services! It doesn't bother me so much that he is complete idiot. What bothers me is that he thinks he knows his service but he does not. This guy has a total attitude and does not know his product very well. I wanted to talk to someone about getting Travel Pass for my prepaid service, which is so that I can call back to the USA when I was going to be vacationing in Mexico. He rudely insisted that is not possible to do with pre-paid. I told him it is possible since by brother does it. He continued to be very rude to me. I went to another store, and they were able to help me get it set up. When I told my brother about the situation, he asked me which Verizon and which employee. When I told him it was the Santee Verizon, and the name of the employee was Patrick, he told me he had a negative experience with Patrick at that store as well and would never go back to that store. Verizon, why do you allow someone like that to work for you? Seriously, have someone from your corporate go under cover in that store and work with Patrick, and you will see what my brother and I are talking about. Furthermore, when I called the store later to speak with the manager, I was unable to get through to him/her. I went to the Verizon store in Santee after having a bad experience at the Verizon store in rancho San Diego. I had such an amazing experience at the Santee store. If you are in the market for a new phone or switching from a different carrier make sure you go into the Santee store and ask for Ken. He was so helpful and friendly. Wow!!!! Went into the Verizon store in Santee in anticipation for disappointment. Totally misjudged and was wrong! These guys from the moment I walked in to the end was awesomely helpful..."Solution Specialist" they were. Sammy even went as far as install my new Invisible Shield Glass + and even help me register it on line to receive my life time warranty. This experience made my day, and even paid off our cell phones today...much lower bill starting next month. I was in the store on March 28th and Marshall ( don't know the last name) helped us. He told us about the HUM and said that our insurance would cover the cost of the HUM. He never said anything about the set up charge and never asked what insurance we had, . I called my Insurance Co. this morning (4/2/2018) they never heard of it let alone pay for it. I feel that he didn't reveal the truth and it seems like I would be paying for the monthly fee. It may be an awesome product but was not explained correctly. Horrible! They are ridiculously slow. Had to wait 30 minutes to get someone to help me out. All I wanted was a Note 3 holster. No plans. No contract. Just to buy a little plastic thing. I wait 30 minutes only to have the guy tell me they're sold out. Why don't they cross-train the 'greeter' to be someone who can do some work instead of being a glorified receptionist? Take your business to ANY other location but here. Customer service is terrible. The salespeople other than Ken have no idea about the product or how to treat their customers in a respectful way. I purchased a brand new phone there and needed to transfer information from my old phone to my new phone. Needless to say I was basically pushed out the door as the salesperson had completed the sale, and didn't want help any further. I went home and ultimately spent about 2 hours with the customer service rep on the phone. Needless to say, I was sent back to the Santee store as the transfer was going to be manually done. Customer service rep stated that she sent a message to the manager of the store, Dolores to inform her of the issues at hand. So, back down to the store I went. I asked for Dolores upon my arrival, but was told she was with a customer at the time. Not a problem, I understood this. Ultimately the manager didn't come to help me and I was assigned to another salesperson to try and resolve my issue with the new phone. All I can say is WOW I have never met such an ill informed salesperson in my life. Kept talking in circles to try and confuse me. Not only did I get the runaround he was extremely rude as well. Really??? You're not making any money off of me and your irritated? Welcome to retail and customer service. Working with your customers is very much part of the job, not just the sale and what you benefit from it. Ultimately I asked to speak to the manager, I was done dealing with this person. Get this, so when I did ask for her, he told me she was on the phone. I said ok, I'll wait. I said how long do you anticipate before she would be available? He said it would be 20 minutes. I said she is going to be on the phone for 20 minutes? That's ridiculous! Now I was getting the brush off from the Verizon store manager. Great leadership, now I can see why all these reviews for this store are so low. The ONLY person that after all this mess did come and speak to me before I left was Ken. He listened to my issue with the transfer of data and offered a suggestion to have this taken care of. If you do find yourself in this store, I strongly encourage you to only work with Ken if you want good customer service and a knowledgeable Verizon representative. He has a good understanding of the products available, and knowledge of the other services that Verizon has to offer. They know they "have you" here. You walk in and four to five "associates" are standing around, chatting. Your name goes on a list and the waiting game ensues. HELLO?!?! There are people with name badges doing nothing who cannot help me? I don't get it! When we did get help, the associate would not stop pushing the upsell (my hubby commented it's like buying a car) even though we clearly said we wanted the BOGO Droid deal. Sheesh. Then he started giving me a drawn out how-to detail of how to set up an email account (I did it in seconds, just not like he said). BEWARE of the sales staff trying to get you to buy expansive data packages. The cheap one DOES sync with exchange accounts and is like $20/month less. The service desk people are kind and helpful, but if you want to cash in your upgrade, plan on making a day out of it. We were purchasing 4 phones so $400 total!! Phones didn't work as the associate didn't activate the SIMS card or explain the old SIMS needed to be transferred to the new phones. If I could give negative stars I would. Was told about a false promotion (free iPhone 8 after purchasing an iPhoneX - have 30 days to get it). Called to make an appointment two weeks later, was told promotion ended after two weeks of purchase. Ran to the store, was greeted by cranky Frank, was told the promotion ended on Father's Day. Was sold a fast charge for my iPhone, which broke a few days later. Called about it and they informed me, oh yeah, those aren't compatible. I went to get a new iPhone and wasn't an account manager, I tried to call my mom to help add me but she had her Verizon app connected as a manager and not an owner. The person helping me basically told me to leave because everyone was getting an iPhone and it would take too long for me to do what I needed to do to buy one. Luckily an hour later I went to the La Mesa Verizon and they were much more helpful and even gave me a deal on the phone and accessories. One word: LIARS. So I went to this store in August of 2014 to see what I could do to lower my bill. We switched to the share everything plan and the man who was assisting us said they are having a promotion in which you get a tablet with a 2 year contract, but it adds 1 extra gig to the entire plan. He was able to waive the initial fee for the tablet and my bill stayed the same. I didn't want or need a tablet but figured it was worth it for the extra gig. I started getting notifications in December of 2014 saying I was almost over my data and that didn't make sense to me. There was no way I went over 5 gigs of data. I called the 611 number and a lady helped me and said that they never added the extra gig but she would add it effective that day. I called back about 2 weeks ago because I was getting the same notifications....and this is when sh*t hit the fan. The customer service rep at the 611 number was extremely rude. He said verizon is a scam and he doesn't even have his own phones with verizon. He conferenced the manager, Michael at this verizon location and he was the RUDEST person I have ever dealt with. He said, "are you really calling and complaining about 1 gig?" He said the promotion I'm talking about was over in May and there was no way one of his guys gave me a tablet with a gig. Absolutely horrible experience. I cannot wait until my contract is up so I can be done once and for all with this bait and switch company. If you're going to buy or upgrade anything, go to best buy. They are not paid on commission and will help you with what you really need, not what's best for their pockets. End rant. read more

This place is just a hassle. Went in for an upgrade at 10:30 and didn't get out until 12:20. Not exaggerating. They have only three people working and the place is packed, and one person standing at the front pacing around - who could be helping when they have downtime. But instead It took near two hours for me to do a simple upgrade. I even tried to use their machine to upgrade my phone which kept giving an error message and the employees could not fix it. The employee helping me said it would be faster if I just backed the phone up myself at home, and my service would automatically transfer... so I left. I backed up my old and new phone, and there was no service on either of my phones. I had to drive all the way back just for them to give me trouble and tell me I need someone that's authorized on the account to come in. Like I wasn't JUST there with the authorized user on the account when you sent me home, and now i'm back due to your mistake. Just poorly managed, no communication and a waste of time. read more

We were visiting from Las Vegas and I decided to purchase two I phone XS phones and add two lines to our plan. While we were greeted immediately upon entering, and told the receptionist the nature of our purpose, it seemed that we were soon forgotten about. There were sales people coming and going with food, some were genuinely involved in assisting other customers, but there was a couple who were engaged in an entirely social conversation even when the customer stated that he was not going to purchase anything. While I understand that being social is an important aspect of sales, so is actually selling your product. We are going to purchase the phones at another time, and another location. read more

FIRST OF ALL THEY MADE EVERYONE WAIT OUTSIDE, NO CHAIRS IN 94 DEGREE WEATHER. Finally a guy comes out and is obnoxious to me and another man there. I ask why we have no chairs, and have to stay outside, then he gives me an ultimatum "Do you want to sign in or should I go back inside." no once or twice but 3 times he says this to me. Then when I went inside I was hassled about how I wear my mask, I barely tuck my nose at the edge. I have lost part of my right lung due to a blood clot, and so I don't absorb oxygen as well as most people I tell the woman and she say you need a doctors note. This is a phone store and they are asking me to get a Dr note. They won't take my word for it. Then the lady freaks out and say I will have to leave. Finally they win and I have to pull up the mask to get my husbands phone infor switched over to a new device. Before it's all done, the girl says just keep them together and it will finish on it's own you can go now, very dismissively. So I get home and guess what! I didn't complete, and it wasn't switched over. I then have to spend a half hour on hold for customer service, they close and i"m left hanging on the line. Then the next morning I call again to complete the operation. It took over 3 hours to go through all the technical support, in the end I figured out the problem on my own and was able to re transfer all the data over. NO THANKS TO ANYONE AT VERIZON. I told the young man who was being rude to me and giving me ultimatums that he was being rude, and don't you dare give me ultimatums. He blew me off and shuffled me to a different Girl to help me at the store, The manager Dolores was just as rude, in refusing to listen to the fact that I have breathing problems. She did not offer any suggestions on lowering my bill or getting any other phones as possible alternatives. The trade in value on my old phone was insulting. I visited this store with my 83-year-old mom-in-law to upgrade her dying flip phone. Patrick helped us get a new flip phone (yes, a flip phone!). He also helped change our monthly plan so it was cheaper. He didn't try to upsell (which was great because my mom-in-law can't see, so she truly just needs a simple flip phone where she can feel the buttons on the phone). I have been in this store twice in the last week, each time I was helped by Marjorrie. One visit was just after they opened in the morning and the other was after 6pm. The wait was very short and she was very pleasant each time. My first visit was to go over some concerns I had about my droid x from it's gingerbread update as well as pick her brain about the droid bionic "coming soon". After explaining to me how to restore my phone to alleviate some of the problems I had and telling me as much as she knew about the bionic I went on my merry way. After my restore I had problems with my multiple email addresses so the next day I went back to the store, and Marjorrie tried everything she could think of to help me out. Even going above and beyond by doing some research online before finding the conclusion that what I wanted my phone to do just wasn't possible. I applaud her tenacity despite the end result. It's nice to walk into a business for the second time and be remembered by the person who waited on me the last time. Marjorrie has singlehandedly won my business. read more

Verizon Santee is NOT my favourite place and should not be yours. We made an order at the end of April for curbside pick up. Went 3 days later to pick up and checked in at a slot....and waited. We were 2nd in line, then first.....still waiting...and waiting. Went into a full store and was told (sarcastically aparently by the manager) that we had to let them know we were there. We checked in at curbside and have been waiting for over 30 minutes. The woman told me our name was not on her list...went to get our order. I had a picuture of my id and the physical card I used to pay and it was not accepted. So Kevin got the dog and showed his id. She looked at the list and said he wasnt on the account. His licesnse says his first and Middle name, but he goes by his middle name...I pointed to his name on her screen..she refused. We got into an arguement..words were exchanged. WE apologized and then she said "You are done here and another worker " you are not welcome here anymore" and they walked away and canceled the order. On line the order said it was canceled 4.28, even though the incident happened 4.30. It has been over 2 weeks and a refund has not been issued. I called last week for an update and was told they were not sure, but normally I would have to deal with the store. I told the representative what happened and it was agreed that I should not have to deal with the store. He filled out an investigation and gave me a ticket. I called back today, because a refund still has not been issued. May 11, the investigation was closed becasue with curbside pickups the refunds have to be issued in store. I am not sure where the part that they said we werent welcome there was dropped; however, I explained, again, to the phone rep that I was not comfortable going to the store. She tried to contact them, and got no response. She said she would try again tomorrow. So, here I am waiting for over $200 to be put back into my account and the store is not doing their duty.
