He was here for about 15-20 minutes and told me I needed to upgraded my equipment and charged me $200. He said there was something unplugged, which there wasn't. After he left the Internet was still not working properly. I found Simply Wired on Yelp, and boy am I happy camper. He came out for a free consultation, sent me a quote within a few days and a list of equipment I needed to purchase (my old equipment was a few years old and I just wanted to start new anyways). After receiving all the items, Brian came out and set it all up. My 'wire closet' or whatever it's called was so messy and full of old wiring and equipment that we couldn't even close the door. Not only can we close it now, but it looks amazing. He also used some of my old equipment to help boost the signal in certain areas. After the install, I had a couple of questions, texted him and he immediately responded. Brian is professional, reasonably priced, has great communication and smart! Don't hesitate to hire him. I only wish I found him sooner!

Towards the end, he was even able to help relocate my Spectrum modem from the living to my office, something Spectrum wanted to send a tech for in a separate appointment. They like to cut corners and not fulfill contract obligations, and their excuse is, "it WORKS anyways doesn't it?" They will charge you almost two hundred dollars and have you wait five-six hours or longer for a a technician to respond to you. In five hours I could have wiped and re-installed everything according to directions on the internet. Do not rely on these clowns. You pay $11,000.00 annually for a service contract? Assume you contact them tuesday with a less than critical problem. Unless it is hardware failure expect to be contacted somewhere close to 4:50pm on friday with assurances they will respond next week. Since at least THEY know what they are doing. You are better off hiring their technicians directly, instead of the monstrosity that responds to 1-800-GOP-ROTE. Don't blame the Tech's, blame the management, ownership, and general lack of ethics that lead to these issues in the first place.

Until recently we were a customer from the early days where costumer service was the highest priority. We inherited David Cody when he bought the company and right away we were shocked by the tone and accusations when we opened our first trouble ticket with a the new owner. Customer service is a boxing match every time we would call. We put up with it for as long as we could because changing providers is a lot of hassle on its own. We really tried to be cordial but after needlessly having to endure such vitriol and back handed comments, and associates in tears after trouble calls, we decided enough and called to cancel our service. During the sunset period of our business relationship the conversations got meaner and accusatory. Making us send equipment across the state rather than having there tech come out and pick it up, charging us full monthly fees after we had parted ways for months because one piece of hardware out of the fifty instruments on our site had not been returned yet for continuity reasons. This is not a company I would EVER recommend to anyone. Stay away, plenty of other companies with better business models. Only gave them one star because they did provide us with phone service, but the juice is not worth the squeeze as they say.

They explicitly gave me a flat price of $499 for a display replacement. Based entirely on that number, I took the time out of my day to drive down, drop off my machine, and pay a non-refundable $30 diagnostic fee. However, once they had my laptop completely disassembled on their workbench, the price suddenly jumped by $100 to a new quote of $599. When I questioned why the price changed from their written quote, they claimed that the initial $499 price was actually only for a "B-Grade" used screen with scuffs and scratches on the outer casing. If I wanted a normal-looking, flawless screen ("A-Grade"), I had to pay the higher premium. They had my exact model number from the very first text. Withholding information about different "grades" of used parts until a customer's laptop is already taken apart in your shop is a highly deceptive business practice. Had they been transparent upfront that a standard screen replacement would cost $599, I would have opted to go to the Apple Store instead of wasting my time and money here. I paid the $30 fee just to get my laptop put back together and returned to me. Go to Apple or a more transparent shop that honors their initial quotes.

I have to say that we experienced challenges throughout the process and ZTelco and their support staff acted amazingly. Every single person from Doug in sales and Ranoo the scheduler were amazing. The real magic is in the tech support staff who will answer the phone or call you back within minutes and not hours. We are a medium size business with multiple locations that require 100% VPN connectivity and phones. We now have that at a very competitive price and with the promise of reliable service and support. You don't need to be a prisoner of bad ISP service. Before you sign another contract with an ISP give ZTelco a call and see if they service your area. You will be glad you did. read more

We've looked high and low and gone thru 5 other providers that did not fulfill their promises (all larger corporations) where ZTelco did fulfill promises. I can literally speak to my Sales Rep Doug Wagner. I can call ZTelco's Customer Service and speak with the Technicians who know the needs of my Company; BANCard Solutions Merchant Services. I signed with ZTelco and the sales rep was Bill justice. He was very nice and helpful at first but one thing you need to be aware of, the price they are giving you is not including taxes and it's going to change. After I signed with them I saw a higher charge on my card. I signed a contract for $302 and now I'm paying $470 I contacted (and keeping record) them over 20 times and Bill always say that he will look into it and call me back with a solution or he will fix it but he never did. When I sign the contract Bill said that after a few months he's going to try and get me faster Internet 100 GB, which never happen. But they did call me and ask me if I want to pay for Faster Internet. read more

I most definitely endorse the services provided by Ztelco. Our phone system is feature rich, up to par with any any fortune 500 company. Ztelco is a "boutique phone company", not like one of the big guys that makes the clients wait forever anytime there's a support need, they are very responsive. Our phone system have all the basic phone functions--like caller ID, call forwarding, call hold, call transfer, call waiting, 3-way calling, redial, do not disturb, speed dial, and hook flash but also come cool things such as the ability to take the handsets anywhere we go or even have an app loaded to our smart phone or laptop (Softphone) to place and receive calls as if we were in the office. read more

After years with AT&T my company switched to ZTelco for our telephone and internet service, and I am glad we did. The internet service is more stable, reliable and faster than our other provider. Our sales rep Ben stuck with us for over a year as we weren't ready for the changeover yet. Good thing he did. We were sick and tired of our current service provider and the new, faster service couldn't come soon enough. The install guys were great, customer service is prompt, and quality of calls + internet service makes this a genuine 5 star review. Ztelco has been providing the HOA WiFi now for about a year or more. In that time I haven't had to call very often as their service is pretty reliable. The few times I've had to call for service they've always been courteous, prompt and professional. They find the problem quickly and get it taken care of. Setup was quick and smooth. Thus far service has been very good and support is responsive. I recommend getting a static IP to allow persistent connections and its a must if you're doing inbound access (remote desktop, VPN, etc). Would recommend! read more

We live in an area of Bonsall that has no other broadband options, other than satellite. Kind of a broadband dark spot. Just from that standpoint, SDB has been a godsend. I work from home and am utterly dependent on reliable, high quality/speed internet service. Speeds average from 70Mbps to around 100Mbps. Pings are decent at around 14-20ms. When streaming HD content, we never have issues with feed being interrupted. There have been a few outages over the years, but they never seem to last long. And whenever I've called SDB's tech support they have always been very informative, helpful and patient. I've read some of the negative reviews and am sorry that others have had issues--I wonder if that's location-specific. Some of us in more rural areas can find it difficult to find reliable service. All I can say is that, for me, SDB has been completely first rate on all fronts, and I've dealt with AT&T, Cox, Comcast and a few others over the years, none of which have been as reliable or as helpful as SDB.

I had internet service from Lightwave Wireless set up at my home in Ramona yesterday. I've been…read moreliving in Ramona since April 2024, and I have been stuck with Cox cable internet. Cox is SOOOO GROSSLY OVERPRICED. They were/are charging me $155 a month for 500mbps down, 50mbps upload service on an introductory promotional rate. That price includes whatever hideous fee Cox charges for unlimited monthly data. After the first 1-2 years, that rate would be even higher because the promotional period would be over and Cox would also start charging me to rent their cable modem monthly. The problem is, I would usually never see that 500mbps speed on speed tests. Many times it would be around 400mbps. I never saw that 50mbps upload speed, it was usually more like 29-30mbps. I also really hated dealing with Cox customer service. They are just the worst people on earth, almost malevolent. They know you're stuck with them, and they will screw you over at every single possible opportunity. Example, when I first bought this house back in April 2024, Cox sent me a home installation kit with my order. I tried every cable outlet in the house and none of them worked. I asked Cox to send a technician out since the previous owner's Cox internet service worked just fine but my new modem wasn't connecting. Cox tricked me into paying a monthly fee for "Cox Complete Care", to get a technician out to my house, then a few months later when I discovered the fee and cancelled it, they charged me over $150 cancellation fee even though I never knew I even signed up. On that day I decided that as soon as another viable ISP alternative popped up in my part of Ramona, I would ditch Cox immediately. Fast forward 6 months, and I get this flyer in the mail from Lightwave Wireless. At first I thought it was some type of cellular 5g home internet stuff, which is mostly garbage and not reliable. I did some research and it turned out it's not cellular at all, it's based on microwave technology and it requires a good line of sight to their tower on top of Mount Woodson to get this service. The service can work with perfect line of sight or near line of sight, but if there's a hill or mountain blocking your line of sight entirely, this service won't work for you. I know that cellular service is not a fit for me, but microwave service definitely has potential. This type of service has one weakness, which is line of sight, but it has some great strengths. Due to having no cable lines or power lines between your house and their tower, it means the service is effectively weatherproof. There is the potential for service up to 1000mbps with up to 200mbps upload, and the best part is even their highest tier of service cost a LOT less than what I was paying for mid tier Cox service, and all of their plans offer unlimited data built in. The flyer was very compelling, it promised unlimited data, no contracts, 30 day free trial, no overage fees, free static IP, and 10-20ms ping times.. all for 25-50% less than I was paying for Cox. I might have paid them extra money just to get Cox out of my life, but hey half price works for me! I decided to give them a call. This was on a Saturday and to my surprise an actual human being answered the phone. That human being is named Sue, and she is awesome. Maybe she was just bored that day because it was her day off, but she answered the phone anyway, and answered every single one of my questions, gave me realistic expectations of what to expect in my specific location, confirmed the 30 day free trial and etc. If I could give Sue a separate 5 star review I would! There is a $100 install fee for this service, but they do not charge you any monthly fees for their equipment. You also don't have to pay the install fee until your first bill comes in at the 30 day mark. They even offered $20 a month off for the first year. I decided to give them a shot. They came out on 12/17/24 to do a site survey and installation. There are some trees partially obscuring my direct line of sight so they couldn't mount their microwave antenna as high up as they wanted to ( the pics below are not the final mounting location, the installer ended up finding a lower position with slightly better line of sight than in the photos below). The installers were professional, friendly, on time, efficient, and they did a really nice, clean looking install for me. I love that their dish is also their modem, and it is powered via power over ethernet, the only equipment inside your house is a small PoE adapter, it's the size of a typical AC power adapter. I am getting a consistent 330-350mbps download, 40-50mbps upload with 15-20ms ping times. Everything I was doing before with the Cox 500/50 service works just as well with this 350/50 Lightwave service, I can't tell the difference in performance. If I trim some tree branches they can mount the dish higher and give me even faster speeds. This service is great. Literally half the price of Cox!

Far from "high speed" internet and clearly not a good value for $85 a month! Using both Verizon and AT&T iPhones, I get over 100Mbps with LTE. Since Camtech also uses AT&T LTE, I asked the owner about this huge discrepancy. His response was "the iPhone is a $1500 piece of hardware." I don't feel that's the reason given the fact that you can achieve these same 100+ Mbps speeds using devices such as older smart phones, tablets, Jet Packs, hot spots, etc. My opinion is Camtech is purchasing data from AT&T and throttling customers down to the 2-3 Mbps in order to be profitable. That's fine if he wants to do that but I think he should be more up front about it with his customers when asked about the slow speeds. What really irked me the most however is how Camtech buys reviews from people which violates both Google and Yelp's policies. I rely heavily on public reviews when making informed decisions about a company's products or services. When a company like Camtech buys reviews from people, it obviously makes those reviews biased and thus not reflective of customers' actual experiences. The main reason I went with Camtech was because of their online reviews. Little did I know those reviews were made from people who received a full month for free in exchange for leaving a review. People are obviously motivated by money so their reviews are going to be heavily biased. Hopefully my unbiased and not paid for review will help someone else who is considering Camtech.
