A single phone jack in our 30-year old home randomly stopped working causing all but one phone in our home to stop working. I called a few leads from yelp reviews but most (even some whose websites said they would do "small residential repair" work) turned down my request. Mark answered the phone on my first call on a Thursday and agreed to come to my house the following Tuesday. He arrived on time and it ended up being more complicated than expected due to an unusual wiring configuration done by a kitchen remodeling contractor done a few years ago as well as a defective jack and splitter. The multiple causes precluded a simple fix and necessitated some "sleuthing" to determine the actual causes. Mark was able to diagnose and repair the issues (relatively) quickly. If you have a complicated situation with cabling or wiring, Mark is your guy. I had a disaster with installing internet in my condo after my contractor cut my coax cables and literally hid them in the wall. After much investigation, Mark was able to locate where the cable was cut and then spent a lot of time carefully reconnecting the cable lines properly. He asked great questions to get to the root of the problem and is very analytical. I had 3 other prior technicians who were not able to figure it out. Telesystems set up our telephone entry gate system to continue to work after we disconnected our landline. We were told by others this is not possible. There is no signal on the line but a click when the code is received and the gate opens or closes. This was several years ago and it still works great. We highly recommend them. read more

I needed to have some old Cox Cable service lines removed since I switched to Ting fiber a year ago. Cox wouldn't do it and told me to call a cable/network company instead. I called Mark and after a quick conversation, Mark realized he didn't have a tall enough ladder to reach the cable connection point mid-span. We recently suffered a serious flood in our house and during the demo the workers managed to trip up the phone line to that area of the home. We called ATT and the soonest they could come out was Dec.,21st, (at the time) 4 weeks from our call! When we bought a house from the 60's I wanted a structured cable system installed, but had a hard time finding someone to do it. After having three other installers work on it (a recommended contractor, a friend of a friend and Cox) it worked, but the closet looked like an exploded spaghetti factory. As Kathi B. wrote, I found Mark to be "Professional, friendly, knowledgeable, prompt, and went the extra mile." I'm in the process of converting a hallway utility closet into a linen closet. This closet used to contain the old furnace (relocated to the attic) and a previous security system, so there were several mysterious wires that needed to be identified and either removed or re-routed. My home is roughly 40 years old, so who knows what strange things have been done to it before I bought it. Mark arrived promptly, was friendly and knowledgeable, and really took the time to help me figure out what the wires were. He seemed as committed to figuring it out as I was. We removed some obsolete wiring, and he re-routed some phone lines. In the course of working with Mark, I also told him that I'm considering new windows. After AT&T changed up the wiring and service in my office we had several issues with our phone system. Mark came out the same day I called him, spent hours to trouble shoot the issues and fixed what he could and contacted AT&T to come out and fix the issues with the equipment they installed. Telecommunications is a foreign language to me so it was great having Mark deal with AT&T directly to problem solve. I am disgusted by how rude and unprofessional these guys are. Called for a general question and to see if one of them would come out to my office to help fix my phone wiring, the gentleman on the phone immediately made it sound like I was a complete idiot after explaining to him what my issue was 3 times. I got so annoyed at his attitude I had to hang up. Next morning he gives me a call, didn't recognize the number, I answered and all he said was "did you figure out what the problem was" in an extremely rude manner, I answered "what are you talking about" he replies "your phone problem" I said "yes I did" before I can even finish my sentence he hung up. I will never, ever recommend these guys to people who are having the same problems I am. I am very happy with the service that Mark provided. My landline phones had no dial tone. Turns out there was a short. Mark was able to come out within an hour after calling and was able to fix the problem. He was very thorough in his work and put things back that had to be moved. After I stated to him that he charged for a job I was not satisfiedhe continuously kept arguing with me over the telephone today ,unbelievable some people cannot take criticism well and this is clearly an owner that does not! Switched Phone companies and needed someone to move our lines from one block to another (internal wiring) We found him on Craigslist. He was polite on the phone. He is a contractor and current with his licensing through the CSLB(Contractors State License Board) as of October 2012. We wanted a professional even though our neighbors Sunshine communications always handles the switches for Cox and agreed to move the lines for us.. anytime you get a favor it is always as time permits. He made the changes. He had a bit of a qwerky personality but seemed ok.He does bring his dog but asks you if it is ok that he WILL be bringing it...ok?...yes? When he was finished Cox had not yet ported two lines over. This would be done at the end of the week. Instead of us being able to handle this via the neighbor...., he instructs COX to call him direct when our numbers were finished porting and for some reason he dispatched himself..( I didn't know this until after he showed up to finish the port and needed payment) So he showed up for the 2nd time and instead of the 150.00 that we had already paid him, it was an additional 60.00. I mentioned to him that he told me 0.00 was his rate to come out but that we agreed upon 150.00 total. He INSISTED and did not let it go.... that his minimum was 60.00. I said ok I will pay it but we wont use you again. he said ok well I know what I said on the phone. I said that is interesting because initially it was 150.00 to move all lines and you said IF, you had to come out to move the last two lines 50.00. now all of a sudden 60.00 and who asked you to co me out anyways. I understand coming out is not free. But, to tell me that his minimum was more than what was agreed, act on our behalf and dispatch yourself, unprofessional. I would not use him again, ever. read more

Mark is the best! I searched long and hard for san diego phone systems and san diego phone repair people and came up empty handed. He's reliable, his prices are extremely fair and he knows how to do pretty much anything related to phone systems. I've thrown every odd job his way, from setting up a multi-unit camera system to taking an old phone system I got for free and making it fully functional again (saving me thousands of dollars). Following a power outage, our office phones had power but no dial tone. The phone manual didn't help, and the connection from outside checked out fine. I emailed Mark after hours, and the very next morning our phones were fixed!
