Just drove to Computer clinic and visited my first trip. I wanted to look around and speak to someone to see the general awareness of systems. Good looking, relaxed atmosphere and fantastic feedback/ knowledge from Jake is a pleasant outcome. I requested a cpu/ microprocessor replacement (i5 245k to i7 270k). I explained my concern, MOBO sockets have the pins and the CPU/ BGA just has pads, and in my day it was the other way around. Since I've had macula off retinal detachment in my R. eye and multiple retinal tears/ surgeries in my left doing it myself without possibly bending pins compelled me to get help. And I stated that I would supply thermal paste and processor. Jake provided a written quote and was overtly careful to remove the nominal charge for in house thermal paste. He showed concern for the misery of 8 eye procedures. But we also enjoyed a chat about technique spreading the paste. Two days later I brought the system in and in 24 hours I had it back. Clean, no smeared paste, secured, the system is physically as I delivered it. Once home I checked operating temperatures, device manager, and several other things. All systems are functional. I'm not a gamer and I am picky about stuff running at startup so changing a few things from automatic to manual, turning off Intel application optimization, and deleting an orphaned startup icon is all I needed- btw the icon was the malware/ virus scan shortcut. Next, was going to be a gpu upgrade, pny 5060 8gb to asus dual 5060ti 16gb OC. I did that myself, carefully with plenty of light. Thank you Jake (Computer Clinic).. Outstanding! If you bring them a computer neglected and abused don't dump on them when they can't make it like new. They may work a miracle but you cannot escape your responsibility. read more

When I called and asked if they work on MacBooks, they said yes. When I brought in mine, which wasn't powering on, and asked them to check the power rails and power path to narrow down the cause, they said no problem. A couple days later they called and said they blew fans on it and it wasn't powering on. I asked them if they checked the power rails and they said no but they'd look at it further. When I came back in to pick it up, they recommended I go to another place that works on macs. While they were nice and agreed to look at in further, I felt like they didn't really have much experience with Macs based on their minimal troubleshooting plan. read more

The IT company I originally hired for what they assured me was a simple job that should take 4-5 hours turned it into a month-long disastrous nightmare. Each "fix" left me in worse shape than before. Thankfully, a woman in my business networking group heard about my situation and recommended I call Brentech. After describing my predicament, Brentech scheduled an appointment for the next day. I was introduced to Josh, who, within a couple of days, managed to piece back together 20 years of client data, business contacts, files, and email communications. Losing this information would have seriously crippled my business, at a minimum. I am forever grateful and wouldn't hesitate to refer them to anyone in need of IT solutions. I have to admit, when I first arrived at their office, I was concerned. My initial impression was one of doubt--beat-up furniture, a serious need for fresh paint and flooring, just plain worn down. We have a Synology NAS that would not power on. I called a number of computer repair shops, but none were familiar with these types of devices. I took my laptop in for a broken hinge. They ended up cracking my screen and having to replace it. After three months of going back to them because the screens they were buying were faulty, and kept giving me issues with phantom touch, they still did not replace the screen correctly, and it was never flush with the surface of the laptop. This caused the screen to crack easily. So what started as a very simple hinge replacement ended up causing me months of inconvenience and at the end of it all, a broken laptop for a reason I didn't even bring it in for. To their credit, they did their best to work with me and did not charge me when they were trying to "fix" their mistakes. They are also very kind people. I was as patient as possible, but in the end they had poor quality of work, and now I have to take it somewhere else. I would not recommend their service. read more

I brought in an older pc and a new pc to get the older pc cloned to the new pc. However, while I saw lots of files new on the newer pc and I knew they were from the older PC, they were randomly distributed in the pc. The older pc was completely unfunctional. It had a hard drive but no operating system because it had been removed. I was VERY unhappy. I brought it back and they reinstalled Windows 11. After discussions with them, I understood what why they did but it was not cloning the older pc. I needed that older PC for a project I was going to do after it was cloned. I assumed that if they had a problem cloning, they would call me and let me decide what to do. Now it will take a long, long time to restructure and distribute data properly across the PCs. I won't use them again because I can't trust them again. I don't understand why they would send back a perfectly good PC that was unfunctional and think I would accept it. Be careful with them and make sure the know what and how to do what you want them to do!!! read more

I was so disappointed with my experience here. I brought in my laptop that needed a new fan. I had seen an error message as such. They took it and determined that yes it needed a new fan, but fortunately there were no other problems they said. They ordered the fan, and it took 2 weeks to come in to the location that they ordered it from. When that company received it, it was shipped to Brentech, but instead of Brentech requesting it be shipped over night or two day, it took another WEEK to arrive. I then had to call several times to see if it was in because they told me the wrong day. After I picked it up, I brought it home, plugged it in and was unable to log into any websites. I kept getting an error message about the date not agreeing with the site's certificate. I called Brentech and they suggested a few things that didn't work. I told him about the message about the date and he said "that's strange" and that he had had to adjust the date when he "updated the bios". He then asked if I wanted to bring it back in! Well, duh! I just picked it up and now it wasn't working so of course I was going to bring it back. When I brought it in, the technician also couldn't log into any sites. He told me it was a "Facebook" problem, then he said it was a "Firefox" problem. After guessing a few times, he asked if I wanted to leave it so he could run a scan because he thought it was corrupted. I agreed because at that moment I didn't feel I had any choice. However, when he started writing up a work order and said it would be ANOTHER $89, (I had paid almost 300 for the total repair already), I couldn't believe it. I had literally picked it up from them just hours earlier, and it was supposedly fine. I said forget it, and I took it back home. I ran a virus scan which found nothing. Then for some reason I looked at the date and realized that the date was set to January instead of June. I corrected the date...and everything worked fine from then on. So I fixed the problem that was created by Brentech! But they would have charged me to look into it further. That's not even close to good customer service. I don't recommend anyone go here. My computer had been acting up for a while and I was getting worried since I use it for the office. I took my computer to Brentech, got a call 2 hours later saying my computer is in good shape, just needs more memory to keep up. They had my computer ready by the end of the SAME day I dropped it off and everything, parts and labor, was under 150.00!!! Before I came, someone else gave a quote of $400 and was told me I probably needed a new computer. These guys are honest and do incredible work! I had a laptop & the fan on it wasn't running, causing it to get very hot. Because the fan was incredibly difficult to access on this particular laptop, I decided I needed to take it in. Computer Clinic was near my house, so I stopped in & left the computer with Scotty, who was He got the fan working again promptly (I picked the computer up the next day) & also did some hardware and virus checks.
