My experience with Halcyon Security has been excellent. I have a small bungalow house in University Heights, and I wanted to install security cameras. I am not at all tech savvy and could not manage this by myself. My initial phone call with Glynn was very good. He was able to look at my house through Google maps and give me an indication of where on the house the best location for cameras would be. I scheduled an appointment for Glynn and his team (I don't remember the name of the guy who did the installation) to come out and install the cameras. They were right on time and had my cameras installed within a couple of hours of getting here. My house is old, from the 30's, and they were able to install and hide the wires by going under the house and through the detached garage. Once the cameras were ready, Glenn got the system up and running on my laptop and my phone. Once again, I am not good with technology, but he explained it so well that I can navigate the system on my own. The phone app is extremely easy for me to use when I'm away from home. After the initial installation, Glenn stopped by to help tweak the system and help me with any questions. We also did a remote session for other questions I had. The quality of the saved video is excellent. Overall, I would highly recommend Halcyon Security Systems and Glynn and his team. read more

Service Requested: Camera installation, upgrades, and system troubleshooting Quality: 3/5- their cameras do not offer the audible noise that they advertise Value of service: 3/5 - could be improved by offering multiple ranges of camera options instead of the most expensive one knowing customers will ask for other options to compare. We've used Halcyon Mobile Security Solutions for almost 5 years even through an ownership change for various upgrades, repairs, and new camera installations. Overall, the quality of their work has been solid once completed, and their technicians are knowledgeable and professional on-site. We did run into an issue with a camera that was sold to us by a previous rep (who is no longer with the company). The camera's speaker never worked as promised, and it took quite a bit of back and forth to troubleshoot. While the team eventually helped address the concern, communication delays made it harder to resolve quickly. Another recent project, getting a quote and installation for an additional camera -- took about two weeks from start to finish. While that's not terrible, shortening that turnaround could really improve the customer experience and help boost their sales, since responsiveness is key in this kind of service. Despite some bumps, we continue to use Halcyon because they do solid work once the ball gets rolling. With a few improvements to follow-up times and communication, they could easily earn that fifth star. read more

Serg and the team were super patient with us. We wanted to install security cameras at a location with no previous internet service. Having no internet was a great issue and the internet providers gave us a hard time due to our address. We were near downtown, but had so many small hiccups when it came to installing internet. Serg gave us good solutions on how to deal with our internet issues and they installed the cameras exactly where and how we wanted. They are more on the steeper side when it comes to rates, but they are knowledgeable professionals who took great care of us, so we chose them out of the 3 quotes. These guys are great and knowledgeable. We highly recommend! read more

I hate to say that I used Halcyon again for two more installs. They came out and installed a new system for me back in March or April of 2021 at my new home in Fallbrook. That went well but I did have some issues connecting to the cameras at times. I decided to upgrade a few months later and go with better cameras that had sound and two PTZ cameras that are remotely movable. I've had nothing but issues and Tom sent the team out to check on them but the system keeps having issues and Tom kept trying to walk me thru fixing the issue myself. Well I got tired of this so I dug into this issue further and found out that when upgrading the cameras they needed to upgrade the cable to Cat 6 which they didn't do because they were trying to save $$ on the job. They used adapters instead and this causes issues. They used RG59 cable since that cable worked good with old cameras but these new cameras are IP that use CAT6 cable but he used adapaters instead of changing cables . Do the job right the first time and you won't have customer dissatisfaction issues. Most customers wouldn't know to dive in and find this problem and to be honest I shouldn't have either. Now I'm paying another company to fix the problem and connect everything directly to the router the way it should've been done in the first place. I feel Tom knew what needed to done but tried to put bandaids on the problem instead of just biting the bullet and correcting the problem. It's too bad but Tom has lost a good customer. read more

Bought this system in 2020. Works great, but most importantly they have the best customer service. Highly recommend!

Halcyon exceeded my expectations! Not only is the product they deliver top-tier, they have options to meet everyone's needs and outfitted my security system to my specific needs. After using a WI-FI based camera system for years, it was time to upgrade to a POE NVR system and I'm glad I went with Halcyon. I am a big believer of you get what you pay for and in this case I definitely got my money's worth. The installers were very professional, knowledgeable and did a very CLEAN and efficient set up. 10/10 would recommend. read more

I met the whole crew over the course of my CCTV installation. Tom, Billy, Marcos, and Christian were all professional, polite, punctual and knowledgeable. It took some time to receive all of the system components, nearly a month in fact, but I was never asked for a progress payment. All initial hiccups were promptly remedied, often remotely. I chose Halcyon over the competition since they were half the cost and had great reviews. I also experienced a Ring system that was adequate but not good enough. No one tells you that those little cameras lack the ability to read license plates. I live on a busy street with a fair number of idiotic hooligans passing by so that was important to me. I've been up and running for a few months now with no issues. The problems I had with vandalism have subsided, I've caught a few litterbugs, and seeing the parade of wildlife and pets that prowl late at night has been fun. read more

We are hereby cordially submitting this review as a humble note of appreciation to Halcyon CCTV in general and to Tom and Billy, in particular for the top notch service we received. My wife and I would like to take this opportunity to let you know how thankful we are for choosing your company to upgrade our residential security system. We had a great experience working with Tom, Billy and the rest of the Halcyon team. First of all, we received a quick and reasonable bid for our small apartment community here in La Mesa. They completed the job in a timely and professional manner & had great communication through out the project. Very knowledgeable and were able to work alongside the system we already had installed. Highly recommend. Thank you again! read more

My Oceanside triplex had two problems: Trespassers loitering in the laundry room and illegal dumping in the alley. I called Halcyon Technologies to address these issues. They are a major player in San Diego for CCTV. Halcyon was very professional. They surveyed the property and recommended a solution. The cameras were installed within a week for a reasonable cost. Technical support has been great. Everything is working. The app is easy to use and, with Halcyon's help, I was able to get the cameras working on a personal computer (using the IE browser). There are no subscription fees for the Halcyon cameras. My only ongoing costs are for electricity and broadband Internet. Within two weeks of installation, I was able to have my first illegal dumper prosecuted. At the present time, I am monitoring my late-night laundry room visitor. read more

Halcyon Technologies Inc., is a very reliable and professional company. We are very happy to choose them for installing security Cameras Systems, Alarm & Monitoring. We were so happy with their work on one of the building almost 2 years ago so when it came to doing another building a few weeks ago we called them again. They set up an appointment time and they show up on time and they finish up on time as they indicated. Not only they were great during the installation of security Cameras system but they also took their time to install the software in our computer and show us how to access the software through the mobile and computer. They were great! We got three quotes and they were in the middle but had the best cameras and equipment as well as gave us the most information in the email with the quote. Serg was a little stiff when he came over but then I remembered he's a tech guy and I liked him better than the other two salesmen from the other companies who came over. The two installers, Grits and Richard, were amazing as well and walked us through everything on our phones after the setup. We've had three other camera systems with our past homes and we really like to set-up of the app that this company uses. Serg was so responsive when we had questions the week after they left. I'll be referring them to my peeps. read more

We just had Halcyon install and setup a camera system for our 10,000 square foot building and we couldn't be happier with our experience. We had 6 cameras installed along with an 8 channel DVR. Tom and 2 technicians showed up on the install day and walked the site with me to confirm the location and direction of each camera. I truly appreciated how professional both Tom and his technicians acted. They were all very knowledgeable and took time to answer my questions and address any concerns I had. They stayed after the install and helped us set up the app on each of our phones and showed us how to access every feature. Another important thing to note, when they were all finished with the install, they cleaned up every area that they had worked in. I would be happy to recommend them to anyone. read more

For months we researched upgrading our existing DVR+8 camera system with a system that was more user friendly with current phone apps. Since the most difficult part of any video security system is the hard wire runs between the individual cameras and the DVR, we wanted to avoid the hassle and cost of running wires again. There were numerous options. Tom H. spent a significant amount of his time explaining all of them--the pros and cons of each in such a manner that we could understand. We are pleased with the recommended option we chose. We've had multiple interactions with Tom since that initial meeting in DEC 2017. At the installation and several follow up calls afterwards. He was always available and promptly responded to our calls and solved our concerns. He's not like so many other contractors that place little priority on the customer after the initial work is completed and they have your money! Most recently we upgraded our Cox internet service with a new modem which required resetting the DVR IP address. Tom worked us into his schedule so we could restore our internet remote access to the DVR without excessive down time. Tom H. is extremely knowledgeable, sincere in his desire to provide solid, honest recommendations and high quality work, professional and respectful in dealing with his customers (prompt, courteous, clean, efficient, available, honest), and easy to work with. He's an expert in networks and security systems. He knows so much that he talks really, really fast! He'll slow down, but you have to ask. For us, Halcyon was the right choice. If you're like us and like to evaluate all of your options before proceeding, include Halcyon as one of the contractors to check out. We've developed confidence and trust in Tom's expertise and advice. He'll be our first call when future needs occur. read more
