Joe was great to work with. He was flexible with his schedule to fit our installation in on short notice. He was very helpful in utilizing what we had that was still working from our old, vintage 90's system, to minimize our cost and didn't try to sell us anything we didn't need. His costs were reasonable and up front. No hidden costs. On the day of installation he showed up and and was very efficient even adding an additional sensor he hadn't quoted ahead of time at no cost to us. Before leaving he spent time with us to make sure we knew how the system worked and said to call any time if we have an other questions. Very professional, friendly and service-oriented. Overall a great experience! read more

Great service from Joe at SR Security!! We needed to upgrade our 20 year old home security system. He gave great advice and suggested simply using the existing setup but adding new control panels and glass break sensors. It added some much-needed functionality, including wireless access, but kept the cost down. He was able to get us on his schedule in a few days and had everything setup within hours. Highly recommend Scripps Ranch Security! read more

Scripps Ranch Security - Nice! He put up a sign as well. - Security Systems Near Me - San Diego, California

I went with Scripps Ranch Security on recommendation from a friend who has been using their service for several years. This private small business offers a personal touch, is affordable and exceptionally professional. Reasons we went with SRS: ..Local and in person communication ..Offered all smart tech we were looking to upgrade ..Was able to use existing wiring from previous system Bonuses: ..Complete walk through of all instructions and permits. When he left I felt confident in using the system and the apps associated with the system ..Follow up. Mr. Ryan personally checks in. ..Very quick response from call center. Yep, you'll set it off at least once! ..Easily transferable service between occupants of the house read more

Joe Ryan was all around fantastic to work with. From the initial phone call to the final alarm install today, I couldn't be happier with my decision to switch over to Scripps Ranch Security. Thank you Joe for getting us set up the way we wanted to finally feel safe again. read more

We hired Scripps Ranch security for our home. Joe (the owner) explained everything in detail, he gave us an estimate and we mentioned we would get back to him. We used to have ADT security for 6 years in our previous home, so we weren't sure if changing to a different company was good for us. We decided to give Scripps ranch security a try, and we don't regret it! You have a personalized service and his prices are competitive! If you have any questions prior and after signing the contract, Joe always's get back to you in a timely manner. read more

Working with Scripps Ranch Security has been a pleasure. They were extremely responsive, thorough in their servicing of a home security system we took over with the purchase of a new house and also took the time to explain the system, make a few adjustments and get everything setup. read more

Joe is a great professional. He does his job right the first time. Very reasonable prices. We don't pay for big companies' overhead or CEO bonuses. Also, we know companies do not answer questions over the phone, but instead require a house call. Joe, however, responds quickly to phone questions with clear and correct directions. No house calls for a simple question. You talk with the service man directly, not a scheduler. When we needed to replace our old panel we called him, did not bother with anyone else. He came on time, with all the equipment he needed (unlike other service people who had to skip to Home Depot for something or other they needed), he replaced our panel, and he was in and out in less than half an hour. He is a lucky "find" read more

We recently had a break-in in our neighborhood, so time and responsiveness was important for us. Scripps Ranch Security has been great: we were able to get our security system installed and tested within a couple of days. Joe Ryan is fantastic! We are security system newbies and he spent all the time we requested to help us understand how the system work and how to use it most effectively. Joe and company have proactively reached out since the installation to see how things are going: so we're loving the customer support. read more

My first experience with them was fantastic. Joe was easy to deal with and prompt with his service. He was very accommodating to my tight schedule and he made it work. A great company! read more

Scripps has been my security company since year 2000. Joe is extremely professional and definitely has the customer's interests at heart. ADT and other big players are quite small compared to the personal touch that only a company like Scripps can give. Keep it up, Joe! You got me for life. read more

It's been three or four years since we had Joe come out and install our security system and I'm so happy with it. We live in a pretty safe neighborhood but at the time that I contacted Joe, my teenager had been trying to sneak people in to our home without permission. So I figured it would be great to have control over our home whether we are out of the house or asleep. The system has worked perfectly without any hiccups. The few times we've accidentally tripped the alarm the dispatchers call right away to make sure everything is ok and are always so nice. Joe has always been very communicative and helpful. Awesome service. Also, we've been able to leave our home for vacations and not have to worry about anything. The security app works great too. I highly recommend Scripps Ranch Security. read more

We just bought a new house that came with a security system by ADT. But based on reviews, and the scare tactics the ADT salesman used when I called, we decided to use Scripps Ranch Security. Joe (the owner) is super good. He was very knowledgeable about how to make the ADT components work with his monitoring company. We wanted one display panel in the master bedroom and one by the door to the garage. He did beautiful work installing display panels there. A few things were (much) more difficult than Joe anticipated, yet he charged us way less labor that the time he actually spent. I have nothing but praise for his quality and the pleasure of doing business with his company. read more

Scripps Ranch Security is top notch. I have been a customer for over 13 years. We recently moved and Joe the owner came out and got the existing security system running and provided me with the alarm manual and everything I needed. Highly recommend Joe and his company. read more

I am someone who puts a lot of weight on working with someone who is honest. We were solicited by several alarm companies after moving into a new home that was newly built. Joe was fantastic. Not only was he patient, knowledgeable, and available, he explains everything in a great deal of detail. Being the type of person who likes the knitty gritty, I appreciated this. He is not selling you a cookie cutter system and isn't looking to make money on the subscription. It is obvious that he takes a lot of pride in his work and genuinely enjoys providing piece of mind to his customers. We had a lot of large windows and chose to get both glass break sensors as well as motion sensors. Joe explained there was some redundancy but he customized our system to give us exactly what we wanted. We explored the option of home automation with him (lights/blinds), but he correctly advised us to do that separately from the alarm. I highly recommend this business. Joe the owner is professional, courteous, and an all around good guy. read more

Just got my system installed by Joe! I called multiple big companies, but Scripps Ranch Security not only had the best rates, I loved the human experience. read more

Excellent "hands on" engagement. I had a complex project that involved the removal and replacement of a security system in an 85 year old house. Joe helped me understand not only what was there (there were remnants of at least three previous systems) but also understand what could be done going forward. The new system in, up, and working great. Everything we need, with apps on our phones and easy to understand central stations. An excellent, detail oriented installation and a very good price. I feel very safe, and am very happy after the process. read more

For the past 20 years, I've had my home alarm monitoring provided by 2 of the bigger alarm companies (you know who they are.... A.. and P..._) but recently switched to Scripps Ranch Security. The cost is so much more affordable and the customer service can't be beat. Joe tested all my equipment, set up the new burglary and fire monitoring and reduced my annual fee (all in under an hour). Yea! Can't beat that with a stick. (FYI, one of the "big companies that start with an A" failed to test my equipment for an entire year when I discovered that my phone signal was not properly being sent/received. That is an example of bad customer service.) SR Security will be doing regular tests of the alarm and signal. That is an example of GOOD customer service. Also, I explained that some family members have a hard time remembering the code, so he is going to install a device that allows them to arm and disarm with a remote control device. There is absolutely no hard sell, just recommendations based on my needs. I give this company a 5 star rating and recommend them to all my friends in the Scripps Ranch and Poway area. read more

We chose to work with Joe Ryan and SR Security for his honesty and integrity! Joe was wonderful to work with for our home security system. His work was excellent and he provided a tremendous system for our home at a fair price. He was kind enough to spend an entire Saturday to meet our timelines to do teh install. He is very customer focused and a true professional. We would highly recommend this family owned business over any other security company. We got proposals from four different companies and chose to work with Joe based on his integrity and quality of work. read more

We had a few security companies walk through our office for quotes on a new security system recently. Listening to job pitches from other companies was unpleasant to say the least. They came in like robots, regurgitating the same sales speech they probably have given for years. Joe Ryan from Scripps Ranch Security was the last company to walk through our office. Joe offered a clear cut explanation of what we needed and what we could expect from his company in the future. He was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions without trying to up-sell a bunch of useless (and expensive) extras. When Joe was installing the system, he was quick and efficient. He took the time to explain what he was doing and to answer any questions we had. When it was time to go over how to work with the system, Joe was patient and never seemed in a rush to leave or frustrated by our questions. Joe Ryan practices true customer service. When he noticed a glitch, he let us know right away and came over the same day to fix it (before we even had the chance to realize there was a "problem"). He also keeps in contact with us, making sure that everything is going well. We highly recommend Joe Ryan if you're in the market for security, especially if you don't want to end up another little fish in a big national corporate pond. And a big bonus, the system is very easy to use and if you're tech savvy, there's even an app for your phone to engage the alarm with. read more

I started looking around to upgrade my older home security system. Like most people, I contacted a few national and local companies. Some of them would not even return my phone calls. Some did not provide adequate services, but then I found "Scripps Ranch security". They are a local SD company and I had read nothing but very good things about them. I contacted "Scripps Ranch security" and talked to Joe - the owner. He was very knowledgeable polite and friendly. During our phone conversation, we agreed on what needed to be done. Then Joe upgraded my existing equipment and added some additional futures that I wanted. Overall it was a very pleasant experience. At this time, I am 100% satisfied with the process and the products provided by "Scripps Ranch security" including their lifetime warranty that says a lot about this company. "Scripps Ranch security" offers valuable services all over San Diego County, and if you are still looking for the right home or business security system and great service, look no more call Joe! Highly recommended. read more

We were desperate for an immediate solution. My wife went to meet a contractor at our place when she found inruders in our backyard. I called SRS and immediately heard back from Joe. In short order, they were able to install a wireless system to get us fully functional and protected! We've also been using Scripps Ranch Security for our main home for several years now and the equipment quality, installation workmanship and customer service can't be beat. I really believe that there is no better choice in San Diego for your home security needs. read more

Scripps Ranch Security is the best! Joe helped me incredibly, I asked if we could get things installed and up and running before we left town and we worked with us and had it all completely done before we left. Scripps Ranch Security, I feel, a lot better than an ADT service, WatchDog and any other big name brand ones. Joe personalizes your service, he comes out himself and you build a relationship. You can not have that with any other Security Companies. Joe is not your typical sales man. He tells you the truth and gives you only what YOU NEED. I will be using Scripps Ranch Security for a long long time. Thank you! read more

I have had a couple of different alarm companies in my house over the years. I have never really been happy with them. My contract just ended so I started looking for a replacement. I saw Scripps Ranch Security in the Scripps Ranch newsletter. I called Joe Ryan and he cam over to see what I needed. I was surprised when I found out that someone could come in and rip the old unit off the wall and destroy it before it called the monitoring service. He suggested a system that would not allow that. He also told me the price and I realized that I was going to save over $20 a month! I went ahead and had him out the new system in. The new system is very easy to use and it has much more capacity for pass codes. It was a treat to have someone nearby be responsible for my alarm system. Until now it was a never-ending group of people on the phone. I highly recommend Joe and Scripps Ranch Security. read more

If you are looking to install home security (or if you already have a system installed), I highly recommend Joe @ Scripps Ranch Security. I've been a customer for about five years now, and have had nothing but above-and-beyond service from this company from the beginning (and I don't 'gush' about services unless they truly deserve it, believe me!). I was leaving for a trip when my system's backup battery was going dead, which of course set-up a recurring warning alarm. I called Joe and before I knew it, he coordinated a time with my house sitter to come over and replace the battery. Since then, I've had some repair needs (routine things) and he's always come through swiftly with the needed repairs & advice - no waiting days for help!! Oh, and I must mention - the reason that brought me to Scripps Ranch Security in the first place - i have top-notch monitoring of my home system through SRS at HALF - yes, half the cost of one of the 'big' monitoring companies (who shall remain nameless)! For all of these reasons AND great customer service combined, I strongly recommend Scripps Ranch Security for your home/business security needs! read more

Joe replaced our existing Security system. We met him last year when we needed something fixed on our old one. His repair pricing was so good. he didn't push us to replace our 20 year old system but we did ask him for a price. Now, a year later, we called and he honored the price. He was efficient, explained how the new one worked. So much better than our previous one. We had him change our monitoring to Scripps Ranch Security. So glad we did. Second day I set off the alarm by accident.I shut off the alarm right away Got the call within a couple of minutes. They made sure we were okay etc. So much better than our old monitoring co. which never called if we shut off the system quickly after setting it off. I would highly recommend Joe and his company. Love how the new alarm operates. It is easy to use . I no longer worry if we lose electricity and phone service because it gets monitored via cell towers too. Thank you Joe. read more

Joe at Scripps Ranch Security was great. I had estimates from several alarm companies to upgrade our old alarm system to a newer "Smart Home" system. Scripps Ranch Security was the only one not to try and upsell us things we didn't need, and the cost to bring our system up to modern standards and monthly monitoring was lower than everyone else. Really happy. read more

I called on a Friday, Joe was able to come for an eval the following Monday. Within an hour or so my existing system was checked, battery replaced, all contacts/sensors checked, contract written and signed. Everything works perfectly now and I feel much safer. Joe installed our alarm system about a year ago. Recently, we changed our phone system from Time Warner to At&t. The installer did not reconnect the alarm. I called Joe,he was out in a couple hours and solved our problem. He is always on time and very honest. We highly recommend Scripps alarm service. read more

I was told by multiple friends that a certain large security company would be at least $3,000 to start and to be prepared for high pressure sales tactics to increase my costs. No thanks. After looking at reviews on Yelp and speaking to two of my neighbors who have SR Security, I gave Joe a call. After walking around the entire house, he listened to my concerns and didn't try to sell me something I don't need. A week later I have a new security system that is very user-friendly and didn't break my budget. Joe even removed and hauled away the existing out-of-date system, including keypads, motion detectors and a ridiculously large hub that took up a good portion of my coat closet. The entire process took less than 4 hours and I couldn't be happier. I've been doing a lot of repairs on my house and it's incredibly rare to find someone as nice, polite and easy to work with as Joe. I was impressed enough that I immediately called my sister and told her to hire him to install her system asap! read more

Called this company based on reviews from other people to install cameras in my home. Spoke with Joe who was awesome! After discussing my current system he determined that he couldn't tie his system in to my existing system. After telling me this he spent a significant amount of time going over pros and cons of what I wanted to do. What an honest and great guy...probably am not going to use because I can't but highly recommend this company and Joe! read more

After living in our home for three years, we finally decided to connect our alarm system. We have used ADT alarm services before, but we were very unhappy with the tricky contracts and price increases without our consent. We found Scripps Ranch security alarms on yelp, and we are very pleased with the responsiveness and customer service. Joe didn't try to put us into a long-term contract we are able to pay quarterly for a very reasonable price. We tested our system and the response time of the alarm Company was is very quick. It's nice to not have to deal with the bureaucracy of a large alarm Corporation, we feel very safe and secure now. read more

When we decided to get a home security system we met with Joe and also a competitor from one of the big companies. After meeting with both of them my wife and I agreed that we would go with Scripps Ranch. This decision was largely based on Joe and his personality. Joe at Scripps Ranch Security was great. Extremely professional, prompt and courteous. He installed a security system in our office in Little Italy. It's state-of-the-art and very user friendly.
