Outstanding job! The key master was there before I was, I missed the driveway and had to go around the block. He was already getting ready to start when I got there. This was to replace a lost key for a motorcycle. Personally, I didn't think it could be done. He did it, in like 10 or 15 minutes. Nice job! And yeah, I'd recommend these guys to anyone anytime read more

The **customer service and expertise of my technician deserve 1,000 stars**--I truly cannot say enough about how kind, responsive, and accommodating Busy Bees has been. When my key failed and left me stranded at Target, the owner was incredibly kind and even offered to send someone to pick me up. They also quickly arranged to make another key for me the very next day at my home. The customer care has been exceptional. My frustration is **strictly with the quality and reliability of the replacement key fobs**. Around December, I received a generic Mercedes key fob without the logo, which was completely fine with me. However, the center piece repeatedly falls off, and the key itself has intermittently failed, requiring me to carry my original Mercedes key as a backup. I had planned to replace the car soon, so initially I didn't want to make an issue of it. However, I'm keeping the car longer than expected, and the recurring key problems have become genuinely frustrating--especially because the same center piece continues to fall off. **I don't want to complain or ask for yet another replacement. My concern is simply understanding why these replacement fobs seem to have both a reliability issue and a recurring problem with the center piece falling off.** The customer service is truly wonderful; I just wish the product quality matched it. read more

Busy Bees Locks & Keys - Either the key works on/off but all the keys middle area fall off which is a tad annoying - Keys & Locksmiths Near Me - Santee, California

Gerardo did an excellent job at the Santee location. I had just bought a used car from a dealership and it only came with 1 remote key. I had bought 2 new ones on my own online and brought them into them. They programmed both the remotes and cut the attached keysThey were very inexpensive and lightning fast. The dealership would have charged me at least 3x as much. I was in and out in under 10 minutes. He even let me know that there was 2 previous keys that had been made & registered to my vehicle so he said he could deactivate them. That was a relief since I only got 1 when I purchased the vehicle, that was nice of him to go the extra mile and let me know and that he was able to do that. He let me know that since my original key is pretty worn down I should use that one as a spare and use the 2 new one mainly. Excellent customer service. Way to go Gerardo! read more

I went in to get some car keys copied and they were very professional and efficient. I was in and out of there in 5 minutes. The cost to copy the double sided key was $7.50 each. They do advise that if you are copying a car key, you bring the car in so they can guarantee it works. read more

I can't thank Mike at Busy Bees Locks & Key enough! My son lost his E-Bike battery key while out riding, and we didn't have a spare. After calling around to multiple bike shops and locksmiths who couldn't help, I finally got in touch with Mike. From the moment I spoke with him, he sounded knowledgeable and confident that he could get the job done. That confidence alone made me drive all the way out to Santee, even though Mike mentioned there were closer shops to me--and I'm so glad I did! Mike worked quickly and professionally, solving the problem in just 45 minutes and saving me a few hundred dollars compared to what I was expecting to spend. His expertise and customer service are top-notch. If you need a locksmith who truly knows his stuff and delivers results, Mike at Busy Bees is the one to call. Highly recommended! read more

I needed a couple of sets of keys made. Parking is easy. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. Cashier was very friendly.

Recently purchased a used car with just a single key and I'm glad I had it duplicated here last week because I locked myself outa couple nights ago. If I didn't have a spare key, paying a locksmith to come and unlock my car would mean $$. I'm glad my roommate was home to bring me the extra key. read more

We requested that four locks be rekeyed. When Kyle arrived, he determined that two of the locks were too old to rekey and suggested another solution, which solved the problem of having lost keys, and was less expensive as well. He was very polite and helpful, and even gave us a senior discount. Thank you, Busy Bees. Having and keeping employees with this type of customer service attitude will keep us coming back for future work! Gail L read more

This review is a long time in coming. Nicholas Skala literally prevented me from going to the hospital. It was an extremely hot day in San Diego and I had locked myself out of my house and none of my neighbors were home. I couldn't even get into my garage.I wear an insulin pump for my Type 1 diabetes. Insulin frequently goes bad when exposed to heat in the low 80's and where I was it was pushing 90. Because of my precarious situation, Nick came immediately. I couldn't have asked for more. I will always use Busy Bees in the future and hope Nick will be my assigned specialist read more

3 times failed, I went to get a copy of a mailbox key took it home didn't work went back. They said they could try to make another one. If it didn't work, they would give me a refund ,at that point. I just decided to buy a new lock and have duplicates made . On a second occasion I gave them a second chance , I tried to get a brand new gate lock key duplicated, after two times failing to make a key that would even go into the lock. I just requested a refund. If Home Depot can't make the key, do not try busy bee they are not a true locksmith. I am no expert but you would think after the first failure and saying the key wouldn't even go into the lock, you would take a measurement like a caliper, etc., after 2 separate incidents and three failed attempts. I went to lynns in El Cajon. They are true locksmith , one try and the key works no problem. Save time and money and go to Lynn's ,they made the same key that BB tried twice to make and failed. They made it on the first time and sent me home with a free blank so if I wanted more it would be faster when I returned. On top of all that they are literally half the price. read more

I needed to get a new key/fob for my Subaru Forester & found myself with some spare time so I popped in here and they were so kind and helpful. They had the key there, and the price for the key, programming & labor was 1/2 what the dealership quoted me. Since I didn't have an appointment I did have to wait for a tech to come back into the shop, but they were able to make me an appointment for an hour later so I came back and it didn't take too long and no surprise fees. I was helped by Zane, Kyle & Chris, they were all kind & insightful. I got an extra key and got to support a local small business! Definitely recommend! read more

Highly recommend! My car's keyless remote fob stopped working and I knew a dealer replacement would cost way too much, so I decided to try to repair it myself.
