Very quick and useful responses. Provided availability and estimate as requested. Reasonable pricing. Cory was very accommodating. He came out to install a smart lock, however, the lock has a defect and wouldn't attach to the door properly. He waited a couple of days while I returned the lock and got a replacement through Amazon. Once I received it, I messaged Cory and he arrived within an hour or so to do the installation. He did a great job with the installation and was patient while I connected to the lock with the app to make sure everything was working. read more

Apparently, my 3-star average review was not good enough for CJ. Lowered to 1*, as promised. This is a very disrespectful person who doesn't appreciate or even understand the value of being a professional. He is sending me threatening emails, telling me he's going to sue me for telling my story about his bait and switch policy. I have to wonder why anybody would do this, only to sabotage his own business. He was warned to not respond, yet he's so abusive, he just couldn't help himself. Use this business at your own risk. This millennial is dangerous. [See attached text of our messages and decide for yourselves!] I used Yelp's 'Projects' board to obtain a few bids for replacing a lock on a bedroom door. I picked out a Schlage lock that was nothing fancy. It was just your standard Schlage door knob. So I emailed the pic of it to each vendor and asked them to obtain the Schlage lock, add their labor, and give me a price out the door. The price of the lock was $28 and some change. It's a simple install, right? CJ at Keynnections seemed like a nice young man whom I picked for two reasons: He said he could get the Schlage doorknob I chose and with his labor, the total price out the door would be $80. Great. When CJ arrived, he immediately stated he thought *I* was going to provide the lock. I was confused because when he went out to his truck, I reread our texts. CJ said he wasn't able to come to install the lock until a couple days after we discussed the project. He then texted he had the lock. He stated 'the shop has the lock', so we made arrangements for the install the next day.. CJ ended up installing a completely different lock. It's a 'Defiant' dead bolt, which he told me was less easy for somebody to pick. He went ahead and installed that dead bolt and also provided me with three keys. Okay, not the Schlage lock I'd chosen, not what I wanted, but it wasn't that big of a deal. Late the next evening I texted him to ask him why he thought the lock was sticking, was hard to turn the key, and it made a loud 'clunk' noise opening and closing it. He didn't answer my text. The following evening, I phoned him to ask my questions again. We had a conversation where he ended up telling me to just take the strike plate completely off. Huh? I remember he used a Phillips electric screwdriver, which tightly installed the plate. I told him I don't even own a screwdriver. So I then asked if I could put WD-40 or oil on the lock so it would not stick. He said, "You could try that". End of conversation. I googled the WD-40 thing and it's a good thing I didn't do that. WD-40 attracts dirt and dust and just gunks it up. It's listed as something NEVER to do on a locking mechanism. I guess you live and learn. Skip Keynnections and hire somebody else.
