Long story short, I dropped my laptop awhile back that caused minor damage where I was able to just pop the pieces back together. Fast forward to about a month ago where I closed my laptop lid and CRACK - something happens where basically the bezel, back over, and hinge gets damaged to the point where it looks like I ripped it apart when I open my laptop back up. Tried to fix it and somehow made it worse by messing up the screen and man, I've done my fair share of taking computers apart before but I wasn't going to mess with my laptop after this series of unfortunate events. Cue Eric! I reached out to a couple of repair guys for a quote and Eric gave me the best one AND the hope that my laptop could be saved (I had a couple others tell me it wasn't worth the fix; mind you, my computer itself worked fine still - I just had to plug in an external monitor to get anything productive done). He was timely with messages, and even let me know that some parts were missing for repair and ordered it for me. His quote was reasonable in comparison to the cost of a brand new laptop and now that I've had it back for a couple weeks; I can honestly say it feels brand new. On November 20, 2025, Eric "The Computer Guy" arrived on time at my residence and without tools, he had to borrow my tools in order to attempt to make repairs. He did not complete work assignments and to date he refused to return my calls in order to complete work assignments. I took a financial loss in paying him for his services and returning defective computer to Costco. I DO NOT RECOMEND HIS SERVICES! No thanks to The Computer Guy. read more

Eric is the real deal. I basically brought him a big fat computer blow out mess with stalled hard drive and old computer. He was able to order the part, retreive my hard drive and reinstall on a new computer that I desperately needed. Don't get me started on Apple's never ending password updates. He waited patiently. He was patient as my computer knowledge was horribly lacking and recommended a great computer that was on sale at Costco. Overall, it could of been a total disaster but he got me up and working in no time. I always have a back up plan in case, and was able to get by, but I really appreciate his depth of knowledge. I was in a bit of a panic when I dropped my MSI laptop on a Saturday and found that the lid would no longer close. Eric was working on Saturday and, from photos and my description, was able to get the most likely part needed ordered the same day. The part came in on Tuesday, I was able to get my machine to him in San Marcos on Wednesday, and he had diagnosed and fixed the laptop by Wednesday afternoon which I picked up on Thursday. For someone who spends a lot of hours on my machine and also needed to travel with it on Friday, the speed was very much appreciated. I had thought a hinge had broken but actually the bezel frame/hinge assembly had come unglued from the screen! Eric was able to scrape out the old "broken" glue debris and re-glue the bezel frame to the screen for a reasonable price which included several hours of work, having to order and return the part, etc. The laptop lid is strong, flexible, and working just like new now. The timely text messages keeping me apprised of the status of the work were very reassuring and I'm very happy with all aspects of the service! read more

I hoped he could help me transfer pictures to my phone, so I called him to book an appointment. He said he was on vacation and would contact me when he got back. Over a month went by and I didn't hear anything back so I texted him. We set up an appointment and when I showed up at his house and he didn't even remember he had an appointment with me. I waited for a bit in his office and then I explained everything and all he told me was that my phone doesn't have enough storage to transfer the pictures. He then charged me $45 after doing absolutely nothing to help me. This could have been easily avoided if he would have asked me about my storage beforehand.
