John is great, smart and very reasonable. He spent a lot of time on my iMac and although he couldn't fix it due to an unrepairable hardware problem, he did not charge me for his time. I will definitely use him again if a need arises. read more

John was extremely help and attentive to our need, servicing our office computers on the weekend so we did not miss a beat. Super helpful, efficient and affordable. I would certainly recommend him. read more

After we finally got tired of having to turn our laptop off and back on, because it was being soooo slow, my husband found John on google just looking for someone to repair our laptop. We called around and got pricing, and for sure John's pricing was decent. When I spoke to him on the phone, I felt confident that this is the guy that I should take my laptop to. My laptop was being so slow and we depend on it for work and school. I dropped it off to John and picked it back up within 2 hours, other people I had got quotes from told me it would take 1-3 days to get it back. John was friendly and his communication was superior. He told me that he would have my laptop running like it was brand new, and that's exactly what he did. My laptop is literally running faster than ever. I would highly recommend him to anyone with computer problems, and now I know who to go to if I ever have problems with other pcs in the future. THANKS JOHN! read more

Super duper great service. John was very helpful and thorough with his work. Despite the time crunch that he had, he was able to squeeze my problem into his schedule. He even went out of his way to double check my tower and updated my systems. He is super friendly and will work with your problem(s). John is affordable and I highly recommend him! read more

I found John on line looking for somebody local with good YELP reviews. He qualified on both counts. Though it was the beginning of the holiday season, he said he could fix my crashed computer right away if I could bring it to his home office. Since he was so close to Rancho Santa Fe, it was no problem. Not only did he fix the major software program, he updated it to the latest version. It took him less than two hours. I never asked him for his price until he offered it when he called to discuss options for adding RAM. He was very reasonable in his offer compared to the operations working out of a central line where the receptionist takes your request and reads a set fee or hourly rate. One even had no guarantee of no fix-no pay. When I described how my crash occurred, John was totally and rightfully confident he could fix it. After a number of hit and misses over the years with local "experts" I finally found one that deserves all of the great YELP ratings shown on his site. What a pleasant person to deal with who really seems interested in helping more so than making his fortune off of your misfortune. read more

Really happy with this experience. Fast, efficient, effective, and great customer service. My go-to guy for all tech support needs

Solana Beach Computer Doctor saved my bacon in quick time. I needed a part so called them up and within minutes said they had what I needed, so didn't need to order on Amazon and wait yay. Really good, really straight forward, this guy is very helpful and knowledgeable. He gets right to the point, indeed he did a tremendous amount of diagnosis and even took some steps to fix my computer, just in our first phone call. And he did everything he said. He was fast and thorough in the work he did. Definitely I'll take my computers to him in the future. read more

John is trustworthy, super responsive, and experienced with phone issue and home PCs. We use his expertise for all our technical repairs.

This could not have been an easier or more seamless experience. My computer stopped working. Within 24 hours of my first reaching out, the computer had been picked up, the issue fixed, the computer returned and set-up with all the printers, scanners and other accessories. It came back better than it went out. I highly recommend Solana Beach Computer Doctor. I would happily use again. Do not hesitate to call. read more

Great job John! "You were right, I love the upgrade to Windows 10".. John cleared out the junk and reinstalled everything including upgrade to win10, mic office 16 and new battery all in about three hours. Computer runs great. I couldn't be happier along with the money I saved with his service. Thanks, Michael from the Del Mar Fair read more

John took on my project head on. I requested a complete PC Gaming computer build out. I purchased over 10 separate components online and asked John to assemble. Not only did John managed to do so after hours of labor, he went through a broken power supply making him out together the thing more times than one. He got the job done, successfully, downloaded windows 10 operating system and had my VR Gaming ready by the end of the day. I appreciate all the hard work he put into my project, I truly have a one of a kind computer that I could have never put together myself. Thanks again for great work! read more

I received a new laptop for my birthday and needed the office products installed. John was recommended by my sister-in-law who said she highly recommended him. My first call was on a Saturday morning so I didn't expect too much of a response. He answered right away and although I could hear a lot of activity in the background (think family man) he addressed my issues and had me up and running that very morning. From start to finish I could tell John is a highly talented, compassionate, and professional businessman. I highly recommend him for all your computer needs. I also hear he is a great Commercial Real Estate broker as well. Put your trust in him, you'll be happy you did! Thank you John!! read more

John was prompt and his charges were reasonable. However, his skills are limited and he should not be used for business computer situations. My need was for a small business network of computers. In late January / early February 2016, he did the upgrade to Windows 10 on 3 computers, but there was a problem that required a complete re-installation of the operating system and all software because he forgot to turn off the anti-virus before doing one installation. In April 2016, one computer had a problem and needed to be fixed and the operating system reinstalled (not his fault). However, he did not properly set up the shared logical drive properly - either on the original Win10 installation or when he fixed the broken computer. The other 2 computers could access private data on the 3rd computer (which was not the result that we discussed before he did it), and the 3rd computer could not access shared data on the other 2. I ended up paying someone else to fix his mistakes and to get my network working the way that I needed it. He also did not take the time to understand the documentation that I provided for my system, and he did not document what he had done despite the fact that I told him that I needed written documentation for my business network. If you are an individual user without network issues, documentation needs, or business privacy concerns, then he may possibly be a good resource for you. However, if you have a business network then you should not use John. read more

John is really good in his job. I got his number from yelp and called him to repair my defaulted laptop screen. He is kind of person that loves his job and he do it perfectly. He is very informative, likes to advice you and get you the best deal. Thank you John read more

We have two laptops and a desk top that needed some love! We found John on Craigslist and called him. He was on top of it! Same day service too. We set up a time for him to come over same day and he showed up! Wow. Not always the case when you call someone with only a few reviews and yes, Yelp was the first place I went to check him out. He is SO reasonable it should be a crime. He is a Mom and Pop Shop and he really knows his computers. He took our laptops with him, cleaned them all up, added new programs, deleted others, downloaded all of my pics and videos of 10 years (all of my baby who is now 10) which was a ton. He goes out of his way and truly went the extra mile to give us exceptional service, the best and newest programs and all in more than a timely manner. He even helped us with one of our tablets. Such a new guy too. Chatty and very personable. Will be our go to guy from now on. He is amazing and if you are in need of any tech help, this is your guy!!!! read more

Total meltdown - computer and me! John patiently and persistently worked to resolve the problems. Provided excellent customer service, recommendations and solutions. Reliable and very reasonably priced. Highly recommend. Thanks John! read more

Super Honest and Reasonable. What else could you want. Will look for ways to save you money and doesn't leave until he knows everything is working as it should. If there is an issue he will log in remotely and get the issue resolved without the upsell. That's all I want in a computer repair person. read more

My 3 year old laptop suddenly didn't work correctly. It was previously fixed by another company and was very slow. John identified something that thee other company hadn't and reinstalled the full OS and it is humming along like new now. read more

It is generally difficult to find a good computer repair person and near impossible to find a good computer repair person that charges a reasonable price. After having my first computer repair done by John, I think I have found both. He listens to what is said and gives suggestions as well as an estimate before doing the repair. Another thing that I appreciate is he only charged me the actual price of the part and did not try to make additional profit. I will definitely recommend John to all my friends and neighbors. My computer is actually working better now than when it was brand new. :-) read more

John really does a great job and at a very affordable fair price. He always makes my computer run like new every time..

I would not recommend taking your laptop to this individual. I took my laptop with a cracked screen and a newly purchased screen to this shop in Solana Beach and in the process of installing my new screen he cracked it. He claimed that he then purchased a second new screen and subsequently cracked that one as well. He then claimed that to the extent I was out $160 for the screen I bought and he was out $160 for the screen he bought, we were even and he then handed me back my computer and my cracked screen. I have no idea if he actually purchased a second screen but in his mind we were even and he offered no compensation. Loser. read more

I have been working with John Young in reevaluating my current computer needs for my business for the past six months. Needless to say, I have been incredibly impressed. Not only has John been able to quickly evaluate my computer needs and deficiencies and upgrade some of my equipment which needed updating and refinement, he was also able to help me determine the type of new computer system I needed for my specific business. Optimizing this new computer as well as taking the time to instruct me in the nuances of the new program has been John's forte! Trust me, he has the patience of a saint!
