Needed a desktop pc repair. Called their phone number, but automated message just said "call back later". So i made an appointment for a consult via their online reservation system for 1pm Friday. No parking. Only street parking over a block away...arrived early carrying desktop pc only to find doors locked and lights off. Waited 10 min, nothing! I took my laptop to Tech Outfitters to replace the cracked screen last year. Ever since then I've had an issue with the tablet/keyboard sensor. Tech Outfitters tried to fix it but couldn't. They then tried to Jerry-rig the laptop for me so it would work but didn't work long term. I finally took it to M&E Computers here Michael and Elias were so friendly, professional and helpful. They properly diagnosed the problem with a sensor (Techoutfitters couldn't or maybe wouldn't admit) and offer solutions. It's clear that these guys know what they're doing. They also identified some inefficiencies and hidden files that shouldn't have been hidden, as well as helped created an image backup of my laptop so I could work on another computer while they were fixing mine. Instead of upselling me they spent hours troubleshooting and fixing my laptop properly, which saved me from having to buy a replacement laptop. I highly recommend Michael and Elias for any kind of computer troubleshooting, repairs, data/computer transfer, etc. They also do screen replacements for phones and computers. Super quick with his work too, it only took an hour to get my laptop back and he also cleaned my keyboard dust which I appreciate very much. Phone repair: Before M&E I had some bad experiences at phone repairs so, as a result, I lived with broken screens and little shards in your cheek (TMI?) but now life is much better. I still abuse/break my phones regularly but Elias fixes them up brand new, his pricing, quality of work and, above all the service is consistently a "Wow" experience! Now life is better, my phones don't look like a disaster recovery artifact and my face has recovered from that whole Frankenstein look. Computer repair: This is the serious part of this review. My first venture into M&E was I wiped my entire life off my computer. This was a very very bad moment. I immediately went to Yelp reviews and then called Elias for an initial discussion on the repair process. It was obvious he was busy with customers at the counter but he also was able to multi-task, articulating in our phone call how the repair would go, the sequencing of steps and the probability of success that would be established at various milestones along the way. I think I was at his store 10 minutes later. He spent about 30 minutes with me at the drop-off and then, over the next few days, he maintained regular contact with me for status updates. It took about a week to diagnose, order corrupted parts, rebuild and test. During the repair time he displayed tremendous concern for my anxiety and yet, his pricing was extremely fair. When the computer was returned he had recovered all the data. On additional, separate visits he has upgraded and also repaired the same laptop. This place is the best! I was having so many problems with my MacBook, I was beside myself. I bought an external drive from Target to free up space, transferred all of my documents, files and photos but no space was freed. I was getting popup windows every time I tried to type. I took the computer to M&E. A virus had taken over my computer using all of the space, my battery was also bad. They backed up everything, installed an antivirus program, saved all of my files and put in a new battery.
