SD PC Repair uses a flat-rate pricing model: $40 for hardware diagnosis and a set $140 for software issues. I brought my PC in because it kept crashing, and it turned out to be just a driver problem that needed a reinstall. Paying $140 felt pretty steep for what ultimately came down to redownloading drivers, you could definitely find a simpler fix cheaper elsewhere. It would be great if the pricing had some flexibility for quick, straightforward jobs rather than a strict flat rate. That said, he did an amazing job getting my system stable again and fixed the issue completely. Great service and solid work, just on the pricier side for minor software fixes. read more

Professional courteous service and highly knowledgeable when I stopped by to discuss data transfer from a bad laptop to a seagate drive...and I learned a lot. Great value too. Highly recommended. read more

Brought in an external HD that stopped working. They were unable to obtain files and did not charge for service. They recommended Advanced Data Solutions for further evaluation. I recommend this company for other services, and I will use them if required in the future. read more

Sam is the most knowledgeable man I've ever dealt with concerning computers. He was incredibly helpful figuring out my problem AND finding a solution (that didn't even benefit him). Went above and beyond what was expected. read more

Fast service. Great price. Wonderful customer service. Great location. Highly recommend this business.

5 years old HP laptop keep giving me warning about the battery. Google told me it's best to change the battery with that error code. Went to Best Buy to check out new laptop and asked the Sales lady if she has any idea how much to change battery by the Geek Squad. Obviously she has no clue and told me may be $300. Reached out to Sam and he told me to buy a battery on Amazon or eBay, and they will charge labor to change the battery. Dropped off the battery and laptop, battery replacement completed in 30 minutes or so. Save me some money and buy me may be 2-3 years with the laptop. Straight forward, no BS. Good Pricing. Good communication. Somehow Yelp is not showing his new address, and his website has not updated it yet also. New location is 7710 Balboa Ave. on the third floor. (I think it's #309?) read more

Great computer repair service! They were friendly, professional, and did a great job fixing my laptop. The process was quick and easy, and I'm really happy with the results. The $301 was a fair price for the screen. I definitely recommend them! read more

Super responsive, quick and helpful. Got some fan leds and such wired on a new custom build. Also really affordable.

I had a macbook with water damage. This was not a straighforward problem. However, Sam quickly fixed my issue and at a fraction of the cost of a new laptop and even less than other repair shops in the surrounding area. Even better, he was friendly and communicative throughout the process. Highly recommend for all your repair needs. read more

Update to a prior review: "putting on new thermal paste" was one of the justifications for charging me 120 for a fix and providing "quality service" i recently opened up my pc to redo cable management to find that he caked on the thermal paste overflowing it to my cpu. Would change my review to 0 stars if i could. read more

10/10, best prices, fixed my computer the same day I brought it in, and went above and beyond with updating, and cleaning up my files to make space as well as installing a new fan. Best place in San Diego, really knows what he's doing and can't beat the prices. read more

Excellent quick service. This is the fifth different computer I took to them in the last 10 or 15 years. Three desktops and one laptop when they were back on Clairmont Mesa Blvd. Now, another laptop to their new location. I have never had to bring one back for a second repair. The get it done right the first time at a very fair price and very quickly. Glad I found them so many years ago. read more

These reviews were spot on. Outstanding customer service, and Sam was extremely knowledgeable and professional. My customer built PC ran into its first major issue that I wasn't able to resolve myself in my 4+ years of having it since I built it. It wouldn't boot into Windows, what some call the (BSOD) Blue Screen Of Death. I couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. Spent days troubleshooting shooting, resetting hardware, updating BIOS, entering in advanced command prompts but to no avail. Sam called me within 2 hours. Turned out my SSD that Windows was installed on became full (probably through automatic updates) which caused it not be able to load properly. Sam identified the issue, was able to somehow move my important documents over to my other SSD so I didn't lose anything and fixed the issue, as well as cleaned out my PC of dust for no charge. I highly recommend visiting him and his business and I would recommend him to all my friends and family. He's SO knowledgeable. Thank you Sam! -Brandon read more

Brought my custom built PC in for Sam to look at. I had no problems with it until the day it stopped booting up. I had searched from the ends of the earth on reddit and YouTube for a fix but I couldn't seem to figure out what was happening. Sam took a look at it for just half a day, diagnosed the problem, and communicated back to me very fast! Turns out my CPU went bad and he offered to replace it or just do business for the diagnosis. Pricing is fair and not bad at all, honestly cheaper than other repair places. I put in a new CPU myself and voila, he was right. My PC fired right up and I can get back to using my rig! Will be coming to Sam for any future obstacles. read more

Took my PC in after spending hours trying to diagnose a faulty RAM issue on my own and getting nowhere. SD Computer Repair identified and resolved the problem quickly, explained everything clearly, and was upfront about pricing with no surprises. What really stood out was the follow-up afterward to make sure everything was running well. Great experience -- highly recommend! read more

When my brand new surface pro 11 screen cracked I was heartbroken. I took it over to Sam and he looked up the part on eBay and quoted that plus labor and it seemed reasonable. The screen came in a few days later and it was wrong. He looked up the correct screen and it turned out it was unavailable. At the time I was pretty mad but after all was said and done he only charged me a reasonable diagnostic fee even though he worked on it for a long time. Turns out I have to send it direct to Microsoft but I appreciate the time that Sam took and the work that he did. read more

Fast service, straight forward, and now have a working laptop once again. read more

Service was great and not expensive. They diagnosed the issue and fixed it within days. I will be back.

This is the place to go for computer repair!! The woman that helped me get checked in was extremely helpful and showed me where to find all the information for my laptop. They were very communicative through text, the prices are incomparable to any other place that would charge you hundreds for something as simple as a broken screen. Super affordable, efficient, and friendly. They also take Zelle and Venmo to avoid a credit card surcharge if you don't have cash. Can't recommend them enough! Got my computer working perfect again, I would say even better than it was before. read more

I've been bringing my computer to see Sam for about 5+ years. He always delivers, has great suggestions (a lot of which are what to buy from Amazon so not even in his benefit), and he has very reasonable pricing.
