I need to sing the praises of Kyle and all the other tech guys at San Diego Computer Help. I heard of this place through my friend because her boyfriend works there. I was having keychain issues on my Macbook Pro. Anyone who has or has owned a Mac might know what I'm talking about. It's a pain in the butt!!! Anyway, I brought it in one day, told them the problem and they got to work on it right away. In fact, it was ready the same day I brought it in, although I couldn't pick it up until the next day. But I was really impressed with the speed in which everything got taken care of. A lot of places will keep your electronics for up to a week or more and they'll "get to it when they can". Not this place... they're fast!!! I brought my laptop home. Everything loaded up fine. I was still getting a few keychain popups (not as many as before). So I sent them an email right away telling them I was still having slight issues. They got back to me almost immediately (and this was well after store hours). They told me that it's pretty normal to have keychain popups as some of those keychains need to have my new keychain password that I set it up with. They told me to let it go on a little bit longer and if it were to still happen quite frequently that I should get back to them. Well, it went on for much longer so Kyle got a hold of me and did a remote session with me over the phone. He worked his magic and now all the keychain popups are gone!!! I am incredibly happy with their service and I will recommend them to anyone. I also have to say how incredibly nice all of these guys are. Most of my experiences with tech guys have not been good at all. I went to the Genius bar at the UTC Mac store in La Jolla and the guy who "helped" me was perhaps the biggest jerk that I've ever met and even made me cry. I am traveling through San Diego, I work remotely, and I've had one hell of a week with my technology. When you're from out of town, it's challenging to trust someone with important data but I didn't have a choice. My failing laptop needed data recovered before going back to the factory so I could work, but starting my desktop up for the first time in 6 months proved to be an exercise in frustration. Everything from my video cards to the operating system were failing. San Diego Computer Repair was able to recover my data from BOTH systems, find my loose SLI card and reattach it, reinstall windows, and update all my drivers to get my system working better than it did when I first built it. Not only that, when the external drive--now containing all my data--decided it was also going to join the rebellion, they worked with me over two days...FREE since I had just paid for all the other services...to recover a brand-new yet already failing G-Tech drive. They recommended better external technology, analyzed my RAM and made a recommendation for me to upgrade it myself (to save me money), and moved over all my data. The most impressive part of all of the above is that they were super nice despite my grumptastically crappy attitude with them (being out of work for a week with a looming deadline is a recipe for crabbiness if I ever heard of one--I sincerely apologize). When the computer in our recording studio started to smell like it was going to catch fire, I knew I needed professional help. After seeing the positive reviews, I gave San Diego Computer Help a call. They told me to unplug it and put away my fire extinguisher. All would be ok! I brought the computer in to their shop on Washington St. (There is easy parking in Vons lot or in front of the store.) Kyle couldn't have been more helpful. He told me the very low cost for an inspection but offered to waive that charge if they had to do work to fix it. I was very impressed with their low prices. I got a phone call the next day from one of the techs who was trying to diagnose the problem. It sounded like they put a team effort into solving this mystery. After coming up short, apparently they called in the big guns--a tech named Alex who has an extra sensory perception about these things. A "computer whisperer" I'm told. He sniffed out the issue--the power supply fan was dead and there was a small island of dust inside. Here's where I got really impressed: I know that to go online and buy a new power supply would cost me $60. That is exactly what they charged me. Plus $20 for a new case fan. $99 for one hour labor. Many other shops would have marked up the power supply and case fan and charged me at least two hours. These guys are pros and super nice guys!! I'll be back. read more

I was in class and thinking about how my homework was adding up and that I couldn't use my laptop due to some issues that I couldn't seem to figure out. I just goggled looking for computer help and San Diego computer Help was on the first page. As soon as I sent an E-mail out, I received a response, (less than 45 seconds) giving me the information I needed to get started. one of their employees was waiting in front of my house when I returned home. Adam was very polite and very willing to help. He had manors that most people don't. When I opened the door to the house he wouldn't go in until I told him to and same with sitting at the kitchen table, I had to tell him to get a seat. his knowledge in computers is outstanding, I'd say superior to most. when I had questions, he gladly answered them without hesitation. They have a fair rate with pricing and what not. More than worth it. Adam got along pretty well with my roommates too. they both said he was cool when he left. I'm not sure about the other staff but if they are as good as Adam then I'm sure you'll be happy to hire them. I'd recommend this dude to my closest friends and family. Keep up the good work guys. Tech2U (the acquirers of San Diego Computer Help) have ramped up the prices and lowered the quality of work. Since they've taken over my interactions with Tech2U have proven that their employees are motivated purely by the profit they can make off an individual. Meaning if they think they can squeeze more money out of you in particular they will. The focus on customer service seems to have swayed from genuine & helpful to sucking as much money from you as possible. In the past one of Tech2U's employees had quoted me a certain price on their monthly remote service for my office, so I went ahead and signed up, after they attempted to charge us more than was agreed on they told me they were going to go and check my call with their remote technician. After checking, Jeff told me that he did infact hear his employee quoting me what I had thought, BUT he still wasn't going to offer a discount or anything at all, and the whole point was to just try to prove me wrong. Great place for gaming computer help and will take my Apple Macbook Pro to them tooI I found "San Diego Computer Help" company on Yelp. I was looking for a computer repair service that could help with my son's newly self-built gaming computer. After using the chat feature on Yelp talking with Alex I decided bring the computer to their shop where they diagnosed the problem immediately and offered more very useful suggestions to get the computer working optimally. Great conversation with the two guys in the shop. They were professional, helpful, encouraging to my son and went above and beyond what we expected. I am a computer idiot, for lack of better words. I knew my computer was acting funny. It was slower and more advertisements seem to be popping up everyday. With concerns that it may get worse or my computer would just decide to go black and die on me one day, I called San Diego Computer Help. I spoke to Kyle and Ross, who were both really nice and professional. The whole process was incredibly easy. They were able to schedule me an appointment right away and that the technician would come to my residence that afternoon. Ross, the technician aka technology translator, was very competent and knew exactly what was wrong with my computer ( while suggesting good places to eat in the neighborhood- I am new to town so this was helpful). I'm a fairly tech savvy guy... but sometimes when a Windows machine crashes... I have to call someone just to make sure I don't throw the computer out of my 2nd story window. Sure enough, I had 'Tech Translator' Sam Elgindy make a home-office call a week or so ago and it was easily one of the smoothest IT visits I've ever had. He was professional, prepared, knew his software, and spoke highly of his previous clients throughout working with SDCH. Which is great considering the frustration involved when 70% of clients know computers about as well as Mandarin. Sam was patient, had a backup plan if things didn't go smoothly, and even offered superior, free software alternatives to apps and programs I was previously running. My husband and I own a small business in Point Loma. This week I received an email from Intuit telling me to upgrade to Quickbooks Enterprise 17... so I walk through the process and then I get an error code with a message telling me that perhaps our Quickbooks file was corrupted. I brought in my laptop because the fan was not working. I suggested that the fan may just need to be blown out with some air (opening up my laptop is something I was too afraid to do myself). They said they would open it up and check it out. It was $50 for the diagnostic and $90 (counting the $50) for services if it needed work plus the price of the new fan, if it was needed. The next day they called me and said there was dust blocking the connection to the fan but it was working now and ready to be picked up. So it was just $50. I would recommend these guys because they were honest and didn't try to extract extra money out of me for service and a piece I didn't need. I even asked if I should get a new fan and they said this one should last me quite a while. I will be going back here the next time I need help with my laptop. read more

We thought we had a virus on our computer, because Cox said it did, but Kyle fixed the problem, even though a virus was not the problem! Kyle is very knowledgeable and friendly, and just like his website says, he speaks English, not computer language to us! My Mom and I would never understand that language, but Kyle treated us with respect and patience, when he explained what was going on. He took the computer to his office, and brought it back the next day, and fixed all the "bugs" that it had.
