I took my laptop in to repair a broken hinge. They 'repaired' it, although not well because it fell apart only 2 weeks later. I took it in a 2nd time and this time, the agent cracked my LCD in the process of changing out the hinge. Then, these jerks had the audacity to charge me $400 to replace the LCD that THEY BROKE, and they then replaced it with an inferior quality LCD panel. These people don't know what they are doing and they will use inferior parts when replacing components. read more

Sometimes, we don't appreciate what we have, until it's gone. One day I was studying to get my license, using my laptop 8 hours a day. I thought it would be a good idea to clear my tabs and "Shut Down" to give it some rest. Well... my computer took full advantage of it and went full on strike, it took a spa day LOL it refused to turn back on after that. I wanted to wait a few days to see if it would resurrect on its own. Sadly, what they say is true, that there is only ONE Jesus. After the third day and no sign of life, I made use of Yelp and submitted a request to a few competitive local IT spots. One spot asked for a $65 diagnosis fee, David's was only $25. Of course I went with David! I sent a message via Yelp, David was speedy in his replies, he set up a time for an appointment, and thus we began the process. The day came, I dropped my computer off and explained that it simply wasn't turning on. I dropped it off with my contact info and went on with my day. Every few hours, David would call to give me an update, "Hi, it has not turned on yet, but I will continue to try other options and update you as I go along." Then, "it turns out I will require the power source (charger), so when you get a chance please drop that off, there is no rush though!". I revisited his shop midday to leave my charger and was confident in the fact that it would get fixed at the careful hands of David. The third phone call was "we figured it out! it turned on, if you'd like to give us your password to work on some internal settings, that would be great but you can pick it up as soon as is convenient to you." I picked it up within an hour and was able to continue studying later that evening! My grand total was $99 (diagnosis was somehow included in there), which I was more than comfortable paying with! Tech fixes are as daunting as car issues: you depend heavily on the expertise of a professional, you place your trust on them to handle your personal property with the utmost care, and you pray that the bill is not extraordinarily expensive. I can say with complete confidence that this was the case with David's Services. He was very open, transparent, easy to communicate with, brought me along and looped me in with every step of the process. I, not once, felt worried or unsure as to what was happening or when things would get fixed. I really appreciated with willingness to call and share where he was in the process, I felt comforted every time. David reassured me as he returned me my laptop, "it's been fixed, if you come across any issues at any point please contact me, know that there's a 30 day warranty on my services!" And just like that, I became a loyal customer of Computer Services Unlimited. I've filed this biz under "My Computer Guy" and will spread the word about David's services when given the chance. I am very pleased with my experience and although I would never say I look forward to having computer issues in the future LOL, I am pleased to say I am not anxious at all, because I'll know who to call! I went in to replace the fan in my laptop, which was dying. Called ahead and they sounded very knowledgeable about the problem, and ordered a fan without me having to put down credit card or anything, which was nice. They estimated 30 min labor+parts or ~$85. Took it in to replace fans, they did it, but ended up charging $167, I assume it came out to an hour of labor. The next day, I noticed that two of the keys on my keyboard had stopped working. I called them to fix it, as they have a 30 day warantee, and they took a look at it for free. But they then told me they couldn't figure out what was wrong, and because the keys are nowhere near the fans, they don't think they caused the problem. They offered to replace the whole keyboard but I didn't want to have to wait and then bring it in a third time, again with the risk that something else is damaged in the repair process. I understand total repair time is hard to estimate, and things happen when you take a laptop apart, but definitely could have been a better experience. The replaced fans are working well though. read more

So as many of us work from home our computers are our life blood. So when mine started to bulge out from the battery expanding, I knew that I had to get someone to fix it fast! I called CSU and immediately got answers on time, price, and the responsiveness was fantastic. I sent them a pic of the model and they were able to order the batter that day 15 mins before they closed. The batter arrived the next day at the same time and they let me know and even allowed me to go get it swapped alright away which took 10 mins.
