    Why does the post office feel JUST like the DMV? Long lines, frustrated customers AND staff, windows are always grimy. Why does it cost so much to send an envelope priority mail??? $26.95 is a lot of money for something that weighs less than an ounce. Also... why is there ANOTHER post office a half mile away?

    AVOID this man 'DAVE' at Capitola USPS Post Office!

    This ZERO-STAR review is for DAVE at the counter inside the Capitola Post Office. I first encountered DAVE in person a couple months ago when trying to track down a certified letter that my letter carrier refused to deliver and said go to Capitola Post Office. DAVE said the system showed it at his post office... but then said I should drive over and check Soquel, or maybe Aptos or downtown Santa Cruz since he couldn't find it anywhere. This was after I stood at the counter waiting for him to search for it for 30 minutes. I suspect he actually went on a coffee break. Fine - I let USPS return it to sender since DAVE was unwilling to let me acknowledge it, sign and then deliver whenever they found it. I chocked it up to a bad experience. Today I went into the post office to witness DAVE being rude and condescending to an elderly lady with disabilities, to the point of taunting her. She nearly left in tears and clearly still hadn't been helped by this man. When it was my turn to experience 'DAVE' once again, I presented him with a small manila envelope with a defective phone case inside I needed to return to sender in Canada. All the information was on the envelope and the return authorization inside. DAVE proceeded to tell me 'this is gonna cost a lot'. Then that I needed to write my name and the recipient name on the opposite side... but I couldn't use his pen, 'we sell them in the lobby'. Oh, and that I need to buy a roll of tape from him to re-seal the five inch edge of the 5x8 envelope. He handed me a customs form and said it would be a taxed shipment even though USPS.com said to write 'returned cargo' on it and note such. He ignored the USPS paper I presented to him. DAVE's nonsense continued, and DAVE was in fact so unhelpful and rude that I snapped a picture of him (below) and left. I went to the UPS store where they quickly and efficiently helped me mail my item via the USPS. Yes, you read that right. DAVE was so bad, so unhelpful and confusing in his instructions, that the UPS Store had to mail my item for me! See attached photo (below) of the UPS receipt mailing it international. Please USPS take notice of this incompetent, rude imbecile and the detrimental impact he has on the entire Capitola Post Office. Because of him, and solely him, I will absolutely avoid the Capitola Post Office. They have lost a lifelong customer.

They actually derided an elderly couple (80+ years old) to their face, and then talked out loud in front of other customers trying to justify their position, "cant believe these people come in not knowing how the notary process doesnt work." They appeared to intentionally make the folks feel dumb and incompetent. It was a direct verbal attack and totally awkward for my group, and the others in the store. When helping me with notary work, Miguel was obnoxious and aggressive with another customer we were with. I had to tell him to calm down, and that we are all just trying to get documents notarized. The air of superiority from these two notaries was incredible, and their rude, aggressive approach to customer service has been documented several times on yelp in the past. It was a disgrace to UPS. To the business owner: please check your cameras to review their behavior and take corrective action to prevent others from having to go through that. Find someone to work there that treats all people with respect.

Miguel was patient and courteous with her. When it was my turn it was a breeze in comparison. Miguel was efficient and thorough and a pleasure to work with.

    First off, what an amazing store. I came in today for an office chair. Ended up leaving with one,…read morefull warranty (which actually saved me money), and assembly. Typically it takes 24-48 hours for your item(s) to be assembled. I explained that I am a student and that assembling it would save me time, however I was anxious to get it. I was able to come back within 2 hours of my purchase (completely unexpected). Nancy, who I'm assuming is the store manager, was nothing short of amazing. Her and the rest of the crew are really going the extra mile with their customer service. Seems simple, but as I was waiting in line, back to back customers had complaints about items, not wanting to listen to the warranty pitch (which trust me, no one ever wants to, but it's mandatory for them) overall putting the employees in a difficult situation. Yes I get it people, they get paid to do so. But if you ask me or anyone else who's worked in customer service, no one get paid enough to have their days ruined over minuscule things and adults who want to act like children. That being said, It's not easy to smile especially after the encounters before me. But these guys were awesome! Thanks again Nancy and Crew!

He actually walked away with her ( but not to find a product) , when he wouldn't take 2 mins to help me find something. They have lost a customer.
