Every time I go to this particular Staples, it's very understaffed. Customer service is consistently terrible and straight up rude. I have to wait in line for one very slow grumpy cashier to get through a line of like 10 people. Today he said @youre gonna have to just be patient!" after ignoring me for almost five minutes. If it wasn't 2 blocks down the street from me, I would never go here. I was in town for business and needed a quick printing job done. Their online printing option was not working, so I called the store. On a very positive note, they were helpful and stated they could get the job finished for me in 4 hours. Having done printing at other Staples, I didn't think to ask for a price quote. I went to pickup my order and it was $210 for four spiral-bound booklets. WHAT? $50 EACH? When, I questioned the price, I was told there was a $30 express printing fee and they were $38.00 each. I told him that the EXACT same printing job cost me roughly $100 at other Staples, he basically told me" "Don't know what to tell you, do you still want them?" So, if you're OK with spiral-bound booklet for $50 each, this is the place. read more

I'm sorry. This comment is a matter of principle and it is not about the $7 rebate that was not honored. This is a simple customer service issue. I bought an item at Staples a year ago that qualified for a rebate. In order to receive the rebate, I had to fill out a huge paper receipt with everything from my address, email, phone number - practically my blood type and rights to my first born child - for a $7 rebate. Because I believe in all forms of receiving, I went through their crappy process and filled out the rebate. I had to snail mail the paper receipt. ELEVEN MONTHS later I get a visa gift card in the mail and I have to call in to activate it. I call in and it transfers me over to a customer representative. Why?? Because the card has expired and can't be renewed. SERIOUSLY? All you had to do was renew the card or issue me a new one. Then I would be writing a five review on your customer service. Well, maybe three stars because it took ELEVEN MONTHS to receive the card. Instead, I'm out $0.49 cents for the stamp I used to mail in the rebate. Hmm... make that $7.49. Sorry Staples, we won't be shopping again with you. I don't do poor customer service. I understand this issue is not directly related to your local staff or store, but as a company it is your responsibility to provide adequate customer service. I recommend reconsidering your current rebate process. read more

Needed a small project done while traveling down the coast. Didn't expect much from previous staples experiences / local reviews of this staples so my 5-star experience was a nice surprise. Greeted upon arrival (soon after opening), the self serve printing machines worked perfectly albeit slowly - and my double-sided color copies were cheaper than I expected by half, and the tools I needed e.g., paper cutter, to finish things off were available. Worked with Len in the copy center for phase II of the project and he was courteous, fast, and professional. I must've stepped on an "Easy" button on the way in. Sweet. Oh please restock red G2 pens. First off, what an amazing store. I came in today for an office chair. Ended up leaving with one, full warranty (which actually saved me money), and assembly. Typically it takes 24-48 hours for your item(s) to be assembled. I explained that I am a student and that assembling it would save me time, however I was anxious to get it. I was able to come back within 2 hours of my purchase (completely unexpected). Nancy, who I'm assuming is the store manager, was nothing short of amazing. Her and the rest of the crew are really going the extra mile with their customer service. Seems simple, but as I was waiting in line, back to back customers had complaints about items, not wanting to listen to the warranty pitch (which trust me, no one ever wants to, but it's mandatory for them) overall putting the employees in a difficult situation. Yes I get it people, they get paid to do so. But if you ask me or anyone else who's worked in customer service, no one get paid enough to have their days ruined over minuscule things and adults who want to act like children. I stopped by fed ex twice recently to get some copies made and felt like they really didn't want my business. Went to staples and it was 100% better with friendly and helpful people. I hardly ever write reviews but feel compelled today. It never used to be so hard to make copies and get useful suggestions from copy store people. I honestly hate this place. No one that WORKS here knows anything about anything. No one offers to help you when you walk in. The other night I went in, two associates were playing with a toy helicopter rather than greeting me, answering my questions, or helping me out. Before I even finished paying and left the register they were back to playing with their toy. I signed up for a Staples card because I was told you can get credit for recycling ink cartridges with them. I reaped the benefits once and that was it. After that, suddenly they couldn't find my account and then tell me that I have to spend a ridiculous amount just to get this discount which I haven't received since. I can not give them enough stars for my excellent experience with the copy center staff, I am opening a store and needed some banners and a few of my catalogs printed out . Not only did they help me with all the modifications but they were extremely helpful and very warm, I was actually in there for awhile and it did not seem that long at all.
