James and Robert were outstanding. They helped us with printing out documents and stepped up to make sure we were able to complete our project that had to be done that evening. The best experience I've had at an office services location in a very long time. read more

Every time I go to this particular Staples, it's very understaffed. Customer service is consistently terrible and straight up rude. I have to wait in line for one very slow grumpy cashier to get through a line of like 10 people. Today he said @youre gonna have to just be patient!" after ignoring me for almost five minutes. If it wasn't 2 blocks down the street from me, I would never go here. It's so bad, When doing Amazon returns I try to go to Whole Foods instead and for all other papers pens, etc. Id rather go to the dollar store if possible. read more

This is for the young man who takes Amazon returns. He is very unpleasant to deal with, doesn't like to answer questions, or makes you feel like you shouldn't have asked. I'm talking like simply "are we through?" He has an attitude! The older gentleman who sometimes works Amazon is great, but unfortunately, I always get this guy. Thus, I will now be taking returns to Whole Foods or Kohl's, so I no longer have to deal with his surliness. Perhaps learning some customer service skills would help. read more

very unhappy as I want to support local business but after an experience here couldn't wait to purchase online. 1)clerk had me go online for specifics on his inventory ; then after locating the product myself and 2) waiting patiently for him to get off the phone 3) he opted to tend to another customer who rudely cut in, not even acknowledging my presence. He actually walked away with her ( but not to find a product) , when he wouldn't take 2 mins to help me find something. They have lost a customer. read more

Literally no customer service, no acknowledgment when you go to the printing area, and if that printing person is busy the others at the register won't bother walking a few feet to come help you. read more

Surly check out guy was uncooperative, uncommunicative and rude. Won't return there even for pick up.

Jimmy gave my boyfriend and I excellent service. He was kind, resourceful and helpful. We are Santa Cruz locals and do not come to staples often, but when we do we always go to this location. It was a no surprise the customer service was as great as remembered. Thank you so much for going above and beyond to help us find what we needed. Have a great day! read more

I needed to get some holiday cards printed and was so pleased with the help and service Adrianna gave me. Not only was she knowledgable about what was the right card stock to use but she was quick giving me an estimate which I truly appreciated. She also suggested since I was doing color and both sides I make my greeting inside color as well. The project turned out beautifully and thanks to her the whole experience was a true delight!!! Excellent service copying old photos for distribution to family members. Completed ahead of deadline and kept everything in order.

So... when I went to this Staples for the first time I was having a great time back to school shopping with my daughter... we were there for quite awhile so my daughter went to the bathroom and when she got out she looked horrified and claimed there was a camera recording her going to the bathroom. So I went inside to check and low and behold there was a camera pointing directly at the toilet. So uncool. I do not recommend this Staples if you have to take a piss read more

Terrible customer service. I bought a file cabinet they did not come with all the screws that were needed. Was just told there was nothing they could do. No attempt to get the part needed despite almost no customers in the store. Maybe that's why. read more

Great service from an exceptionally knowledgeable and willing staff. My new go-to store for all office supplies.

I was in town for business and needed a quick printing job done. Their online printing option was not working, so I called the store. On a very positive note, they were helpful and stated they could get the job finished for me in 4 hours. Having done printing at other Staples, I didn't think to ask for a price quote. I went to pickup my order and it was $210 for four spiral-bound booklets. WHAT? $50 EACH? When, I questioned the price, I was told there was a $30 express printing fee and they were $38.00 each. I told him that the EXACT same printing job cost me roughly $100 at other Staples, he basically told me" "Don't know what to tell you, do you still want them?" So, if you're OK with spiral-bound booklet for $50 each, this is the place. read more

I know everyone loves to diss the big box stores but this Staples is really a good stop. Brenda put aside what she was doing and helped me find the paper I needed and the lady with the blue hair working the Print area was BEYOND helpful as was the young man working with her. Good hires all. Staples!! thanks...I'll be back!! (now, where have I heard that line before??) read more

Needed some things to make sure I was "legal" with my phone in the car as my "vent" mount didn't work for the rental. Some good velcro strips did the trick, and those removable kind leave no trace. Staff was helpful. Just short of a 5 star effort, kinda expensive in here, but it is California. Parking was easy in their large lot. Front entrance is in the back....haha. read more

Office Superstore my a##. This place compared to the Office Max.. well.. it does not. The furniture is super cheap, poorly made and they do not have the same selection as Office Max. After a customer service nightmare, I came to Staples to see if they could handle scanning 2 legal sized pages to an email for me. This task was beyond the capabilities of the local fed ex store. The Staples in Santa Cruz is under temporary new management and has renewed energy. I had a specific copying job to do and the young man behind the counter-Martin G. was efficient, polite, and dealt with a complicated process quickly. I'm sorry. This comment is a matter of principle and it is not about the $7 rebate that was not honored. This is a simple customer service issue. I bought an item at Staples a year ago that qualified for a rebate. In order to receive the rebate, I had to fill out a huge paper receipt with everything from my address, email, phone number - practically my blood type and rights to my first born child - for a $7 rebate. Because I believe in all forms of receiving, I went through their crappy process and filled out the rebate. I had to snail mail the paper receipt. ELEVEN MONTHS later I get a visa gift card in the mail and I have to call in to activate it. I call in and it transfers me over to a customer representative. Why?? Because the card has expired and can't be renewed. SERIOUSLY? All you had to do was renew the card or issue me a new one. Then I would be writing a five review on your customer service. Well, maybe three stars because it took ELEVEN MONTHS to receive the card. Instead, I'm out $0.49 cents for the stamp I used to mail in the rebate. Hmm... make that $7.49. Sorry Staples, we won't be shopping again with you. I don't do poor customer service. I understand this issue is not directly related to your local staff or store, but as a company it is your responsibility to provide adequate customer service. I recommend reconsidering your current rebate process. read more

Needed a small project done while traveling down the coast. Didn't expect much from previous staples experiences / local reviews of this staples so my 5-star experience was a nice surprise. Greeted upon arrival (soon after opening), the self serve printing machines worked perfectly albeit slowly - and my double-sided color copies were cheaper than I expected by half, and the tools I needed e.g., paper cutter, to finish things off were available. Worked with Len in the copy center for phase II of the project and he was courteous, fast, and professional. I must've stepped on an "Easy" button on the way in. Sweet. Oh please restock red G2 pens. First off, what an amazing store. I came in today for an office chair. Ended up leaving with one, full warranty (which actually saved me money), and assembly. Typically it takes 24-48 hours for your item(s) to be assembled. I explained that I am a student and that assembling it would save me time, however I was anxious to get it. I was able to come back within 2 hours of my purchase (completely unexpected). Nancy, who I'm assuming is the store manager, was nothing short of amazing. Her and the rest of the crew are really going the extra mile with their customer service. Seems simple, but as I was waiting in line, back to back customers had complaints about items, not wanting to listen to the warranty pitch (which trust me, no one ever wants to, but it's mandatory for them) overall putting the employees in a difficult situation. Yes I get it people, they get paid to do so. But if you ask me or anyone else who's worked in customer service, no one get paid enough to have their days ruined over minuscule things and adults who want to act like children. That being said, It's not easy to smile especially after the encounters before me. But these guys were awesome! Thanks again Nancy and Crew! read more

I tried to do a re-order on line and found out that reply emails are not received. I called the next day, today, and Martin was able to retrieve my email and place a new order for me and said he and Linda will work on it and finish it by the end of today. That is great service and why I stay with Staples. Martin was great with customer service and it was noon, and I know he was just with another customer before I talked to him. I stopped by fed ex twice recently to get some copies made and felt like they really didn't want my business. Went to staples and it was 100% better with friendly and helpful people. I hardly ever write reviews but feel compelled today. It never used to be so hard to make copies and get useful suggestions from copy store people. I went to Darco and they don't copy color, went to mission printers and they said their machinist won't be back for 4 days (hmmm? machinist for copies?) Anyway, thank you Staples for getting the job done quickly and adding in a discount for signing up for an account. read more

I honestly hate this place. No one that WORKS here knows anything about anything. No one offers to help you when you walk in. The other night I went in, two associates were playing with a toy helicopter rather than greeting me, answering my questions, or helping me out. Before I even finished paying and left the register they were back to playing with their toy. I signed up for a Staples card because I was told you can get credit for recycling ink cartridges with them. I reaped the benefits once and that was it. After that, suddenly they couldn't find my account and then tell me that I have to spend a ridiculous amount just to get this discount which I haven't received since. Go ANYWHERE ELSE if you want office supplies! Nobody there cares about their job or the customers, it's a joke. read more

I was dreading my trip to the printers and knew it was going to be a nightmare- but I was wrong. I can not give them enough stars for my excellent experience with the copy center staff, I am opening a store and needed some banners and a few of my catalogs printed out . Not only did they help me with all the modifications but they were extremely helpful and very warm, I was actually in there for awhile and it did not seem that long at all. They made my experience at staples so pleasant. My signs were actually WAY better then I expected so I ordered 3 more. Thanks to the whole crew, I will be using you for all my printing needs!
