This store has zero Verizon (the most popular phone provider in Santa Cruz) signal inside. It's impossible to do anything in the store because of that! The store owner charges ridiculous prices for the simplest actions, but is TOO CHEAP to pay a few hundred dollars to get a signal booster for Verizon!! If you're coming over for a 'quick drop off', plan to spend 15-20 minutes just waiting for the internet to connect :( read more

Staff can be very nice but owner makes up his or her personal rules not commensurate with UPS official policy. We have a wine shipping license and the owner has instructed staff not to accept wine/alcohol shipments. Owner claims the store needs a alcohol shipping license. At least for wine this is false. It's stated on the UPS website that a winery with a shipping license and an approved UPS account may ship from a UPS store. The owner has a personal agenda regarding alcohol. I might respect that more if they were to explain that rather than lie. read more

I'll NEVER use this UPS store again! Dropped off a package of frozen food for overnight shipping. They called 28 hours later to let me know that they had not shipped the box. All the food had spoiled and had to be discarded. No compensation for the food they destroyed. I should have read the reviews before going there! read more

Went to drop off a package with a preprinted Amazon label like usual and they said no and to hop in the line with 10 other people that has snaked out the door even though they've only been open like an hour. I even checked even if I'm just dropping off I can't just add to the giant pile of outgoing stuff? They again said no. So I mentioned EVERY other ups store I've ever been to has allowed drop offs, it's literally what the Amazon instructions say to do! She said she's the boss here so NO and to get in line. The entire point is that I already did the work and I'm just dropping off! That defeats the purpose. Just go to the one at 41st, they helped me ASAP even with a line and were moving through it twice as fast. Snotty attitude and poor service. Wouldn't recommend this place. I'm noticing MANY other reviews mention the attitude of the manager, so I'm clearly not the only one she's been rude to. Get it together and find someone better for this store and community, UPS. Edit: while I appreciate them taking time to reply below, it doesn't explain why every other UPS store is able to do returns as a quick drop off except this one. Also logic would dictate that dropping off then getting out is actually SAFER for the customers in terms of potential exposure time than people standing in a store together for extended periods. Ample parking but once inside the store lacking customer service! Last visit the employee Chris was very dismissive and unprofessional. He halfway taped my box of valuables and was very dismissive about any concern I had for the integrity of the box. He also quoted me one price and then after he rang me up it was nearly twice the price. The vibe is VERY much of a disgruntled teenager "what do you want". The government employees at the Aptos Post Office are so friendly and professional. Suggest the post office unless you have a unique shipping need and willing to deal with employees who should remember without the customer they have no job. read more

Came to drop off a few Amazon returns. I'm paying more money to Amazon, so I won't need to spend 35 minutes in UPS! Yes, 35 minutes!!!!! I sent things to print on the UPS website. The guys at the store couldn't find it. I sent it to their email. Already a problem, but hey, we're humans, right? Waited, and waited, and waited. Waited some more. Waited more. They printed it. Send a 2nd paper to print. The lady at the front told me "we can't print, we ran out of ink" Yes, UPS ran out of ink Honest to god, this is what she said, I swear!!! Went out, came back, the lady behind the counter is talking with a friend/customer about vacations!!! I'm ready to take a lie detector on that!!! I'm waiting a minute, another minute, another minute... They are still talking!!! Yes, I'm all about enjoying work, and I understand that not everyone can be a CEO of a pharmaceutical, but still... I'm not saying that you need to work ALL OF THE time you're at work, but maybe from time to time, doing some work? You see 3-4 people waiting in line, can't you tell your friend "hey, give me a minute bud, I need to work so I pay rent and buy food?" Amazon are switching to Kohl and Whole foods, and so do I. I sent a package overnight and it didn't get there for a number of days later. Granddaughter it was meant for had left for Bangkok with out the items inside. UPS acknowledged the mistake so i had the UPS store apply for a refund of $78.00 in May. A month later I went in to see where the refund was and was told it would take awhile and it would get to me when it got to me. Fast forward two months later and I went in again asking where it was and for a follow up call. The manager said there was no follow-up and we just had to wait. I went on-line with tracking number and found out that the refund had been sent. I went to another UPS store to see if they could do anything. They looked at the claim and told me the only address was for the UPS store, not my address. So if refund was sent it was to the store. Refunds take about 10 days. I went back to the original store, talked to the manager and showed her the address which was her store. Then she said "Well i did check up on the refund after you came in two months later and requested another check." She had my phone number and did not call to give an update. I was furious to say the least. If i had not kept on this, I would not get my refund. As yet I still do not have it. How many people forget or let it go and the store has all these refunds? The customer service stinks, and I will happily go to another store read more

I trusted the UPS Store to complete a simple FAX job and they blew it. The confidential documents intended for the IRS went to some unknown number. Only after investigating why my FAX never arrived did I inspect the confirmation, and then found out that UPS Store transposed digits and sent it to the wrong number. How hard can it be to double check your number? When provided proof, the surly help was lost for any response and had to consult the manager. I had to explain that I paid for a service ($2/page) and it was not delivered. I had to explain that perhaps they should return my payment. No apology for their screw up!!! This is unprofessional. They have no clue about customer service. Now I have to backtrack the FAX number where they sent my tax records! read more

The staff is not as knowledgable as I would expect, nor as friendly as I would hope. One of the personnel was downright teenager-surly, while another just didn't seem to care, and a third seemed to be a newbie who knew enough to know he didn't know and could ask but only after a far too protracted monologue about the options that probably wouldn't work and he was sorry but he could ask. I had asked about printing color pages from a PDF, which they don't do (tip: go to Print Smith for that!), or maybe sometimes do but in any case their machine was broken and doesn't have a USB port. The other time I came to the store was to ask about shipping a suitcase, for which the surly woman at the counter was no help, and the apparently senior staff member just knew it was "expensive" and didn't seem to want to finish leaning on his dolly long enough to actually check. When I smiled and said, okay, fine, thanks, and went on to buy a couple greeting cards, I got more of the same sulky service (and the clerk had to check the sign to see what the cards cost). Sent a package to Boston. Filled out paperwork stating it was going to an apartment. No one told me, nor was it written anywhere on the paperwork they asked me to sign that 1. UPS will not leave a package at an apartment without a signature 2. It will be returned to the UPS store it was sent from after three days of them trying to deliver it with no one home. Person was out of town and did not get the post it note until after the package had already been returned! Called UPS and they said the policy of not leaving a package out in open (The building is only three apartments and the mail area is inside, so not out in the open) is on their website. So apparently, when you walk into a store, you are supposed to go to the company website to read the fine print before you make a purchase! UPS and the UPS Store ( which is privately owned and certainly doesn't care to make their local customers happy) are refusing to refund my money or resend the package for what I already paid. read more

I wish they had a better sense for the meaning of "Print for pickup". I emailed them a 170 page document, came in 3 hours later, and then had to stand there while they printed it. I visited the UPS Store in Aptos the other day so that I could get a document notarized. I was assisted by a woman who later identified herself as the manager. She seemed to lack people skills and was very unprofessional. Because I was unfamiliar with the notary process, she became frustrated and short tempered. When I questioned her about her attitude she became defensive and tried to make it my issue. Instead of handing the remainder of the transaction she told an assistant to ring me up and stormed off like a child. I write this review because it's obvious if you have bad service or feel you are being treated unfairly, your problems are only going to be handled by the unprofessional and immature manager. I recommend taking your business elsewhere to avoid the consequences. read more

Very strange. I have been going here for years, mostly for easy local photocopying & the occasional shipping something out. They have become more & more weird, unreasonable, and money-obsessed on the copying. This most recent time, an employee helped me with a simple copying job; she made several ones that were not up to par, and then insisted on CHARGING me for them, unlike any other reputable copying business! I should have refused to pay or kept the receipt for the manager, but I was so disgusted I just paid and left. The feeling I get now is that (maybe?) they lose money on the copying aspect, and that someone "on high" has told them to not waver from charging for EVERY copy, even if THEY mess it up! In my case this last time wound up being $1 for the 2 simple black & white copies that I needed. I know my loss here was miniscule in the scope of things, but doing business this way is unacceptable, and I will just go to the much more reasonable Print Smith down the street from now on. read more
