I opened two support cases with USPS for two anticipated deliveries where tracking had showed it arrived at this post office before delivery, and ended up not making it to my home. This post office went above and beyond in getting my packages to me. Over the last few days, I've received two phone calls from this post office from a very sweet, considerate person named Tami. They brought the delivery team together, coordinated and confirmed where my deliveries would have ended up, and went as far as to knock on the door of the residence, leaving a note with contact info, and the folks living there called the post office saying they had it and would drop it off at the post office the same afternoon! Thankfully my neighbor connected with me about the other delivery that ended up at their mailbox. I've received both of my deliveries within four days. I write this review because while I would be valid in being frustrated, the fact that the folks here took accountability, came together, and made this right, makes this a 5 star USPS in my mind, and disengaged my ability to be frustrated. Our postal service is very likely overworked, underpaid, and also run by humans - as a human that's part of this community, I make mistakes all the time. I'm so grateful to the folks at this post office that serve such a critical function for all Ben Lomond residents. Thank you again for your help! We need photos to renew our passports and made an appointment for yesterday morning. When we arrived early, we stood around waiting our turn and the two ladies there had to deal with a very crotchety woman and her caregiver. They endured the abuse with patience and compassion, and when it was our turn the clerk was so nice. I was very nervous about my paperwork and after she printed the photos she offered to take care of the mailing for us. (I already had the forms printed.) She did everything! I showed up today with a passport appointment. Tammy quickly let me know that I didn't need an appointment and I could send materials off on my own (name change due to divorce). I had to go home to make another copy of my divorce decree, but I really appreciated her clarity and direction. For those complaining about showing up late and not being accommodated: appointments are only 30 mins long and she takes care of people back to back (with little to no time between). This is the same at every USPS passport location and they are all booked weeks in advance. If you don't agree with this scheduling, complain to the US department of state; don't be insensitive and cruel by tearing Tammy (or whoever is working at the frontlines) down. This post office has the laziest postal workers. Rude and slow inside the post office and worst of all, the look for any reason at all not to deliver your mail. If they have to move one inch extra to deliver your mail, they won't do it. If there is a twig in front of your mail box, they will tell you that your mailbox is blocked. They are a disgrace and an embarrassment to the history of the US Postal Service. LAZY. read more

The passport lady has no human compassion whatsoever. She is the reason for the "lazy government employee" stereotype. I scheduled to get my kids passports appointment way in advance (it's nearly impossible to get an appointment for passports nowadays - couldn't find anything in San Jose area, Ben Lomond was all I could find). Had to get the kids' dad's notarized permission to get them passports, which is only good for 30 days. So, the timing was critical. I had to take substantial time off work to drive 45 min there and back plus the appointment, and it's not an easy thing for me to do since my job is super demanding. Sadly, there was a crash on 17 and it took us 1 hr+ to get there. We arrived 20 min late, the passport lady was at her lunch (within our appointment window - kudos for her for maximizing her day to get an extra lunch time in there ). The lady helping post office customers said she wouldn't see us because we are so late. I explained my situation and begged to squeeze us in - all our paperwork was done and organized, it would be super quick. Well, she came out with her coffee cup, told me off for being late, was not sympathetic at all and told me I'm cutting into her lunch break "it's the only time i have for a break, I'm booked solid " So here's the question, if you took your lunch during our appointment window... as a hard working government employee... I know you have your mandatory 30 min lunch and 2 15 minute breaks scheduled in there! So what happened to your original lunch time window? You are welcome for having the extra 20 min from our appointment time (she said she waited for us 10 min and went on her lunch break). Enjoy your extended Friday lunch, lady. Don't choke on a sandwich. Hope you sleep well knowing your lack of humanity meant more work for an already completely overwhelmed single mom. You just worry about you and carry on making the world a better place. read more

I had my issues, but if I look at it without hysteria, being ill for 30 years has caused me massive issues, and so the postmaster and teller said I would lose my box if I did not remove all the junk mail in a timely manner, I got angry, but they were right. The other postmasters and tellers knew my situation and let me slide, I am super responsible for myself and do not ask for favors nor accommodations, but the fact is I can rarely leave the house due to the illness, and I have zero help to run chores, but I did apologize to the clerk and it was due, she was just doing her job and she has been super friendly and I am very grateful as I was stressed to go in if I thought we were in conflict, but all is well, and I am glad we mended the issue so she gets five stars for forgiving my outburst. read more

I can honestly say that I have never given a yelp review for a post office but we received such wonderful service today that I feel it deserves a review. We made appointments for our kids passport application & photos in Ben Lomond because San Jose appointments are booked months out. We arrived a bit early and we were helped by Tammy right away. It was 30 minutes total. Last time we got their passports it was a 5 hour process so I'm extremely pleased. Tammy was a kind and knowledgeable post office clerk. A definite rock-star ! read more

I am very pleased with the service not only in the post office but with our carrier. The clerks always have time for the personal touch and have gone out of their way to find packages, that if too big won't fit in the mailbox. No issue for me to walk to the post office or drive over. The mail carriers put up with our dogs barking at them and the occasional carrier will throw a treat at them. read more

I also never thought about giving a Yelp review of a Post Office, but our service the other day was so awesome I felt the need to give it a shout out. We drove from San Jose to Ben Lomond to get our kids passports because it takes weeks to get an appointment here. Angel was super nice and efficient. We got three passports, with pictures, in about 40 minutes and just received them in the mail yesterday. Great experience! read more

Had the most amazing interaction with the lady at the post office that processes passports. She was helpful and informative. When making the appointment, a list of things to do and bring is provided as well as the confirmation email. I appreciate having this service in our small town and really appreciate the customer service. There have been some harsh things posted which is unnecessary. A review of the experience is enough without making personal attacks. My experience for the last 20+ years has been different that described in these negative and low reviews. Poor and rude service unless you are an old time friend of the staff, in which other customers can look forward to waiting extra time in line while personal conversations are completed with the staff. Additionally, my family and I have had very inconsistent mail service from our mail carrier for several years. The work ethic and attitude is so poor, it is no wonder why the U.S. postal service has financial problems and people opt for other carriers. I only come to this post office because I am forced to, due to my mail being held for weeks at a time. read more

This is the worst post office I've ever had the displeasure of having. They refuse to deliver mail if it won't fit in the mailbox. The postal worker will NOT get out of the vehicle to deliver bulk packages or large envelopes, and they're only open M-F, and are closed before most people get off work. this post office is ok but the hours could be better, hard to get a hold of them, they open late in the morning and close before people get off work, so there's not a lot of time; if u need to go in there and all the envelopes and supplies are locked inside, can't drop off packages either while they're closed. I definitely dislike the way the post office is ran, looks like they do what works for them and not the customer. I prefer UPS, they're more about customer service. I agree if you're not an old friend or cousin of someone around here, they do treat you different and have waited in line while they're chatting. read more
