For nearly a decade, I've trusted Amanda and the team at Postal Annex with some of my most valuable shipments, everything from turntables and amplifiers to preamps and other oddly shaped, fragile audio equipment, often worth well over $10,000. No matter how unusual the item, Amanda consistently finds a way to package it securely, professionally, and at the best price I've found anywhere in Santa Cruz County. Just as importantly, she's always welcoming, positive, and genuinely enjoyable to work with. I live in Aptos and gladly make the drive because I know my equipment is in good hands. It's rare to find a business that combines expertise, fair pricing, and such outstanding customer service. I'm incredibly grateful to have Postal Annex as part of our community, and I wouldn't trust anyone else with my packaging and shipping needs. read more

Had a time sensitive document that needed Faxed same day. Went to Annex and expressed the urgency and need to email them my docs to print and Fax. 2 girls behind counter clearly didn't care, showed no motivation to help, and when I asked them for wifi connection to email my docs?... "We don't have internet for customers, you need to go to the Starbucks across the lot". What? Ran to SB's where had to enter valid email (it detected my false email attempts to avoid spam), sent docs and ran back to Annex. Employee printed, then tried to Fax. it was busy again & again & again. I called the govt agency Inwas faxing to who said Fax was working fine on their end. Ran to UPS ScottsV where they sent it through first try and said it's not uncommon for print shops to still operate with outdated fax machines that are notoriously know to have issues. It about cost me my case. Can't express the helpfulness of the UPS staff vs the lacksidasical, non-caring attitude of Annex's staff. read more

I do all my shipping and drop off's here for the last 20yrs, cant ask for more from a family ran store, assuming your a normal human, all the complaints you see on yelp are BS, ive been in there several times when these people (locals) demand, yell then comlain on yelp becasue they do not know how shipping works, or have patience with local HS kids working there (at least htey are trying) half the town thinks they are a post office so that should tell you somthing.. haha its a business yes, they need to make money... and some people in SV are just needy rude rich people ive witnessed several times... IMO read more

The owner here has a nasty rapport with regular people dropping off stuff for ups and fedex like nobody can do anything right.....and she is so rude to the driver guys (fedex, DHL, UPS). A younger employee Amanda is totally opposite and consistently pleasant and "professional." She is probably the reason this business survives. That or there are no other mailboxes to rent close enough to compete. read more

Most employees are very nice but one person an older female is very rude. She either hates her job or is just a rude person. Been using the place many times over the years. read more

Do not recommend using the postal Annex for shipping international FedEx's. They insisted that the address be translated to English. How do you translate a street name and a city name? Ridiculous. Went to the Santa Cruz FedEx and had no problem. read more

I also had a problem shipping a fed ex envelope internationally. The clerk could not deal with an address in a language other than English. Used another fed ex location and had not trouble whatsoever. Don't franchise owners work with a user's manual? read more

This business is especially helpful if you are not sure whether it is best to use UPS, USPS, or FedEx for a package since they can give you prices for all three for comparison. The employees have been kind and patient, and it is enjoyable to browse the cards and gifts available while waiting. read more

Well, I got the Rude! person again. Seems every time I walk in there. This person is incredibly rude. Not welcoming, short. If you hate your job so much, maybe you should try a new one. read more

I needed a FedEx drop and this little place had EVERYTHING!! Great stop, fast service!!

Poor customer service is the reason for the rating. Just needed to drop a prepaid DHL envelope but was greeted with a rude condescending attitude when asked what I wanted. After explaining I only needed to drop off my envelope, I was told where to place it like I should've known amongst the plethora of boxes and packages strewn about the store. If I had the time I would've driven to the next closest pickup point in San Jose and told the woman to get bent. read more

Trina & Amanda & staff really go the extra mile to provide postal & related services at times that the USPS can't/won't. We always enjoy the friendly treatment that we get there when we go to pick up mail. Their box rental prices are reasonable and P.A.+ is very convenient when it comes to shipping large/odd-sized packages. A++!! read more

Great service, very friendly. I will definitely be back to support this local business.

I have used Postal Annex in Scott's valley for over 10 years. They are awesome. Fast, pleasant and get me whatever I need so I can be on my way. Highly recommend! read more

These folks really know what customer service is all about and are absolutely amazing at multi-tasking under pressure... and still offering a smile and friendly demeanor. We had to drive pretty far to get our packages out if we missed our daily Fed Ex pick-up before moving our business to Scotts Valley... they are a real life-saver! read more

I have had repeated interactions with the company which end with me paying ridiculous amounts for postage. This last time I went in for 1.20 postage, was told that they charge 2.00 for 1.20 worth of postage, then because the I now needed to use a debit card, that was going to cost an extra 3.00. The time before that my 5*8 envelope was charged 11.58. I once had a 5*8 charged $10 to have it arrive with only $1 postage so my recipient needed to pay the$5 difference. I have been going back as they are a family local business. But please just support the post office read more

Every time I go here I'm amazed at how fast and easy everything is. This last time I walked in with an item and a prepaid ebay postage label. I spent five dollars and a total of two minutes to have the very nice person behind the counter package it up and slap the label on there. I don't think I could have asked for a better experience. Definitely a customer for life. read more

I love the family business with friendly service. They are a local small business and not beholden to a corporation like UPS Store or FedEx, other than mailing through those companies. Their customer service is great with reasonable copy and scan prices. read more

Hurried to make it in just in time ,JUST FOR A QUOTE, so I can bill my buyer so he can send correct amount. Then I'll send it out. Attendant says oh I already closed out my drawer, sorry. All that I need is a quote. "Sorry bye". Ok thanks for the customer service. I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

Such a welcome find - friendly people, excellent service - I'll be back - no more USPS lines and broken machines for me

Postal Annex is the best. Trina & Mandy know almost everyone by name. They are highly professional, efficient, and pleasant. I go there for all my postal needs. No more waiting at the SV Post Office for me :) Jane Arcangeli read more

ALWAYS greeted kindly by familiar staff members and its always a comfortable and kind environment to be in. I usually use them just to drop off outgoing Ebay packages, but even then, I get a hello or a smile, and a thank you, (for JUST dropping a package and leaving, which by the way, you dont need to wait in line to drop a pre-labeled package). The few times I have needed assistance in finding a box and figuring out the best shipping method for me and my buyer, they have been informative and showed me multiple options while giving ME the choice, and not forcing one on me. Sure the price to ship out from there may be a little above post office, but you are paying for extra attentive service, AND you DONT have to stand in that darned loooong post office line, which to me is worth it. They also have Internet access available on their 'customer use' computer, which was extremely helpful when my internet at home was down and I had to print an Ebay label by a deadline. ** Note to Ebay sellers, You can ALSO drop off your pre-labeled Fed-X packages there . Also quite convenient. All in all, I am VERY glad they are there, and will always go to them before I'd go to post office. (no offense to our hard working USPS workers, I just love this place, it fits my needs well) read more

Wish I could give them six stars! I've been coming here for years and have always been impressed with their friendliness and service, but after today I had to express my love in writing! As the other Yelpers have mentioned, they know almost everyone by name and their professionalism is outstanding. Case in point: I came in to mail some belated Christmas gifts and they treated me with the usual top-notch service but they also handed me some cash which I accidentally overpaid during my last visit. The cash was set aside for me, had my name on it and was dated. I am still blown away by the level of attention and regard in this. I will continue coming here (and recommending them) for all my mailing and shipping needs. read more

Our business does all of our shipping here, and we are very happy with their service. Trina, Amanda, Melissa, and Billy greet us with a smile, help us promptly, and do a professional job of packaging our shipments when needed. We ship all over the world, and every one of our (sometimes very large) packages has arrived safely. They have an excellent selection of boxes, including hard-to-find sizes, at a price that is better than anything online (plus you don't have to store them in your own office!). They also sell some convenient office supplies, plus fun gifts and greeting cards. Because they handle many different carriers, they can compare the shipping options (FedEx, DHL, UPS, US mail, etc.) to find the lowest rate, which has saved us a lot of money. We recommend them to all of our friends. read more

I just can't say enough in praise about the folks at Postal Annex! Efficient, professional, very helpful and always friendly. I have never had any trouble whatsoever mailing anything from here, no matter the size of package, or the distance it was going. I used to avoid going here assuming that it would be more expensive than going directly to UPS. I have now found that I save money since they have such a good understanding of the shipping options and costs available across all couriers that I end up getting a better price than if I did it myself. They are very friendly and helpfull and their hours are much better than UPS and the post office. read more

What a great customer service experience. Amanda was super helpful and super friendly. All I needed was to fax some pages and tried two other corporate stores only to get quoted extremely ridiculous rates. I was out the door in a few minutes with my pages faxed and at 1/3 the cost. Great family business. I will return and will recommend to all my friends. Thanks Amanda. read more

I needed to have a packaged sent back to me from a customer in Scotts Valley and I didn't want the customer to pay any fees. I wanted to make it easy for him and have it all billed to me. I called a few other locations that are FedEx authorized ship centers until I got this postal annex that was willing to help me. I needed to have all expenses (packaging materials) charged to me and shipped on my FedEx account. Amanda and Trina were so helpful and accommodating. They made this process so easy for me and the customer! Thank YOU! Highly recommend. read more

I have been going to Postal Annex for over 10 years. It is rare to be able to just drop things off and know they will get where they are supposed to be! 100% trust in Trina and her crew. Ever get the sense the staff you are giving your hard earned money to are inconvenienced by you? Never happens at Trina's. She trains her folks in the lost art of true customer service. Support your local business and get great customer service to boot! thanks Trina! read more

The staff here is unbeatable. Friendly, small-town attention with all of the services you might possibly need. They redefine "going out of your way" for the customer. There really is no reason to go anywhere else for any of your shipping needs...they are so easy to get to right off of 17 and as a bonus you can grab a Starbucks right across the parking lot.
