Met up with a friend to catch up and decided to look at Yelp with recommendations and came across Ume. It's a super cute pink shop! You order with the iPad and wait for your order. Got the spicy chicken nuggets and strawberry matcha slushie. It took 15-20 minutes to get our order. The nuggets were fresh and hot. The strawberry matcha slushie was so delicious! Would definitely come just for that. You can find street parking and walk over or find an open lot to park your car. read more

This is downtown Mountain View's newest boba shop and Ume's latest Bay Area location. I ordered something I've never seen or tried from their menu, the UME惊喜杯 Bunny Surprise Milk Tea, which is your choice between white peach oolong, osmanthus oolong, and black milk tea. It's like a blind box and boba drink combined into one! So if you're like me and enjoy those two things, this will give you that boost of serotonin LOL. It comes in this tall paper cup that has the image of their in-store mural printed all over. The fun, "blind box" part is tearing off the bottom of the cup to reveal your surprise. Yeah it's a little gimmicky, you're pretty much paying an extra two bucks for a plush keychain, but it's pretty cute and the boba was actually really good. They have the different plush keychains hanging behind the counter so you can see what the different kinds are. There was only one ordering tablet available during this visit so there was quite a wait. Although, I did see the register next to it look open, but the employee behind the counter wasn't calling anyone over to take orders, just calling out names of the orders that were ready. I also saw an non operating ordering kiosk off to the side. They have online ordering available as well if you don't want to wait. read more

Super slow service and a bit disorganized. Some peoples orders were not called out so many were waiting. However folks who ordered behind us just kept going up to see if their order was ready so got theirs ahead of mine. They need more staff or training to get ahead. Strange since it's an automated ordering system and probably had 8 people ordering so it wasn't packed. Lots of pickup orders tho. Just need a more efficient process. Their tea and food is super good so if you're ok waiting around for 20-30 minutes then it's fine. read more

One of the newer and more popular boba places. Order via the kiosk and be prepared to wait for your drink. Thankfully, there's a small seating area while your order is being prepared. The store itself also has cute decor that is ig friendly. Great drinks and great vibe! read more

I'm so glad I decided to walk in. I initially thought this place was a social media trap, cute store and horrible drinks, but I was proven wrong. I got the passion fruit green boba and lychee jelly drink and added mochi in it. The mochi was honestly what took this from a four star to a five star as I've never had a boba place perfect mochi. I wouldn't say they replicated mochi, but they somehow concocted a recipe that is mochi like but matches well with the drink. read more

Came here while strolling on Castro street because we wanted a sweet drink and decided on the Thai milk tea crème brûlée add boba. It's a sweet drink for sure and the consistency was thicker than expected. The toppings are good and we didn't have to wait long. There's only one kiosk but since there was only one person ahead of us, once we placed our order we just stood around for a bit until our order was ready. One thing is that all the tables were filled so we just continued our walk with the drink in hand. Pleasantly surprised that they now have food available too, I'll give it a try next time. read more

I honestly see the hype around this boba tea and cafe shop! I really enjoyed the whole atmosphere of this cafe, how invitingly pink and cheerful it was! I also appreciated the relative straightforward approach to ordering that this cafe has, which is to either place your order on a iPad or in person. And lastly, the drinks (I personally ordered a mango smoothie) were very flavorful and scrumptious (: if you are in the area I would highly suggest checking out and ordering from this cafe! read more

Really wanted to like this place because of the good ratings but our drinks were not good and the price was expensive. I ordered the lychee peachy green tea slushie which even after mixing, was unevenly distributed that i was getting sweet artificial flavor then no sweetness and the ice was not blended enough, causing me to crunch uncomfortably through most of the drink. My husband got the cookie creme brûlée at 30% sweetness and thought it had not much flavor unfortunately. Won't be back. read more

Umé Tea was a cute little boba spot my friends and I went to after dinner. It's super pink and decorated so cute! The staff was nice and very efficient when making the drinks, considering there was 7 drinks needed to be made. I ordered 2 drinks: Taro Fresh Oat Milk with coconut pudding and Mango Pomelo Sago. Mine, the taro, was good, but not great. I normally get fruit tea boba, but this time I tried to change it up. However, the Mango one was really good and tasted like fresh mangos! If I were to come here again, I would try that one or an entirely new flavor. (For reference, pictures uploaded are not the boba drinks that I ordered, they are my friends drinks). read more

Ume Tea takes over the old Pho Hoa + Jazen Tea spot in downtown Mountain View. I had planned to go earlier, but I finally made it to the newest Ume Tea location. Each location has a different vibe, and the Mountain View one is no exception. It is spacious and oh so pretty. You order via the self-service kiosk at the counter. After ordering, I took a seat to admire the decor of the place. Soon my order was ready. Thumbs up. I will be back to sample more of their menu. read more

Super cute boba spot in downtown MTV! Really like the drinks at Ume Tea so was pretty excited to find out that they're opening a branch along Castro! The service is pretty nice and fast, and we got to try: - Mochi red bean milk tea 5/5: I really like the mochi topping and the sweetness of the red bean - osmanthus longan slush 5/5: unique, creative, and not too sweet! The fragrant osmanthus flowers were quite refreshing - strawberry latte + coconut pudding + sago + cheezo top 4/5: my SO really liked the fruitiness of it (they use real strawberries and there's lots of different textures with the pudding and sago toppings), but I found the strawberry flavor too overpowering for me read more

So I judge all boba shops by their Strawberry Matcha Latte, if they dare to offer it. Sadly, I was disappointed by Ume Tea's version: 1) Very small portion for the price of admission, compare to other places 2) Not much strawberry flavor 3) The Matcha was not as bold due to their use of ice cream However, I was intrigued by their Black Tea Latte with Mochi and Taro. So, I will be back to give them another "shot". read more

Pink vibes at a reasonable price Love the pink vibes. They are efficient and have good teas. Importantly, in a time of rampant inflation, their prices are actually quite reasonable (~$6) for a bubble tea. Oh, and it tastes pretty good too read more

Very clean and employees are nice, friendly. They behave good customer service. Good milk tea. I recommend to go this place.

Quick review!!! Surprisingly good, a long wait, and a really cute interior. I think the quality of the boba here was on par with some of the "goodest", most decent boba I've had. It didn't send me, but it did surprise me (I had low expectations). I got the grape fruit tea, but upon tasting it I realized my drink had literal grapes inside. Not grape FRUIT. Grapes. I was on a time crunch, and the drink had already taken a while so I didn't want to gripe. But I was REALLY confused. Overall though, I did end up liking it albeit jarring at first read more

Ume Tea - Inside - Bubble Tea Near Me - Mountain View, California

SO GOOD as always. I come here all the time for the fruit slushies. I like the oreo and pistachio jasmine.

I was SO excited to check out this spot. I scanned the QR code just outside the store and ordered the pistachio jasmine green tea while my husband got the ume milk tea with boba. Upon coming inside, I saw they had a rose pistachio tea (my two all time favorite flavors!). I would have loved to order that instead, but unfortunately, they didn't have it on their QR code menu, only if you ordered at the kiosk inside. Had I known, I would have happily ordered inside. On top of that, there was no one working there to be able to cancel my order. We ended up waiting 30 minutes to get our tea...when it finally came out they said it was because they had run out of jasmine tea and had to make it fresh. I so wish someone had come out and called our name because I would have happily just ordered the drink I actually wanted instead! Instead, we just kept waiting and when we'd ask, we were told it would be out soon. They did give us a $2 off coupon for next visit after seeing I probably wasn't thrilled. I appreciate the coupon, but it was not a good experience at all and I'm not sure if a $2 discount will be quite enough to bring me back. The tea itself was ok, not great. Nothing worth going out of my way for, and certainly not worth the 30 minute wait. read more

- taro coconut pudding: real taro, 4/5 - passion fruit watermelon green tea: seasonal flavor, 4/5 - plus: have four tables for outdoor seating - they don't have significant seating inside. Good tea. I got the fruit green tea with lots of add ons. It was very good. Branding is very cute.

Busy day with the art and wine festival so the wait was long. It took over 30 mins to get our drinks! I ordered a passionfruit and watermelon tea with crystal boba and a white peach and jasmine tea with boba. Both were 30% sweetness and normal ice but the passionfruit and watermelon was quite sweet, while the peach tea was less sweetened. I waited for the ice to melt so it wouldn't be so sweet. The flavors seem real and not artificial since it really tasted like passionfruit (had seeds) and watermelon. The green tea made me a bit jittery after drinking half of it! The drinks were pretty to look at. I enjoyed the drink after the ice melted. The peach tea was ok and tasted like it had a roasted flavor. We're not in Mountain View very often so I'm not sure if we'll be back any time soon, but drinks were decent for the price paid and the shop was nicely decorated! read more

Alright whoever is working today, Thursday at 8:30 PM and made the amazing popcorn chicken--you deserve a RAISE!! I often order the chicken from here and it's a hit or miss. Lately it's been a miss where chicken breading is soggy, the box isn't full, or it tastes burnt. But whoever did this batch for my doordash order..the way you fried this should be the standard!! Pls always make the chicken like this thank you LOL it's honestly one of the best ones I've had in so long read more

My hubby and I went to the grand opening of Ume tea! All their drinks were $3 and they had a cool raffle going on as well. We went around 8:45pm and waited for about 20 minutes to get into the store. The store is super cute and pretty inside. The vibe is pink and red with cute bunnies as their logo. There is even a pink cherry blossom tree inside. We ordered the strawberry matcha milk tea with ice cream and the brown sugar milk tea. Both of these drinks were great and I especially loved the ice cream touch in the strawberry matcha. It really adds an extra dimension and decadence to the drink. We also got the curly fries which were very fresh, crispy, and flavorful. I needed more than one ketchup packet but also appreciated the sweet and sour sauce. For opening day, these guys rocked how quickly the drinks came out. We waited under ten minutes for both drinks and the curly fries. They definitely have a smooth system behind the scenes. Overall, I loved Ume and would get my drink again. It's a great new addition to Downtown Mountain View. read more

Located in Downtown Mountain View, parking is plentiful. This Ume Tea just opened which I'm so thankful for. Ume Tea's theme is super cute. I love the pink and the bunny is adorable. I was really blown away by the interior decor and design. This place really did transform from what it originally was. Strawberry matcha milk tea (5/5): this one really hit out of the ballpark. The flavor was just right. I was worried it would be too sweet since the sweetness level is fixed but it wasnt. The strawberry added a good fragrant flavor. Superb drink. Tap to pay is accepted. Overall, Ume Tea is such an adorable little boba shop. Aside from the cute decoration and theme, the boba is amazing and super delicious. I highly recommend it. Parking lot is located in the back with decent amount of spots. I came around closing and it was still was decently packed with 6+ groups inside. Wait was about 15min for drinks. 6/10 Passion fruit and kumquat green tea with aloe $5.45 - it was really sweet and seemed very concentrated in the fruits but not tea flavor. Aloe topping was ok. I've had a couple drinks from Ume and have yet to be disappointed. I've tried the Taro & Mochi Black Tea Latte (sugar level fixed, hot available) and Taro Latte with Coconut Pudding (50% sweet), both solid. The Mango Pomelo Sago (50% sweet) is also very refreshing! Really nice tea place. Good ambience and super cute bunny theme. Love the wall mural featuring an imperial feast accompanied by dancers. I ordered the Taro Milk with Coconut pudding and it was nice and refreshing with Taro paste. Setup across from the mural are some flowering trees providing pink clouds of blossoms. Under the tree is a Gu Zheng setup for playing. It makes for great ambience and any one who loves rabbit themes would probably find this place a visual experience. There is also one of the rabbits in the form of a statue you can take photos with! Epic. read more

Didn't realize I had actually been to an Ume before a long time ago in Milpitas. I saw mochi and red bean on the menu which is why I wanted to go here (and last time in Milpitas too). Came on a weekday evening, and there were some people sitting in the store and a few people in line - order and pay on a tablet, then wait for your drink. I asked for my drink to be made in my own cup and it was fast to come out. I got the mochi red bean milk tea, no sugar, no ice. The milk tea has the "standard" taste, not really anything spectacular. Mochi was a bit buttery which was interesting, smooth and slightly soft. Red bean was the usual, sunk to the bottom which I guess is normal. Drinks are pretty pricey but many of them have unique toppings. Their tea is just not good though, and that's what I most care about. read more

UME has the best fried octopus ever. Theirs is fresh and tasty. Love it. Also the popcorn chicken my nana thought was spicy but we got the non spicy one . And then she tried the spicy one and she said it wasn't spicy. That I thought was funny. Drinks (4/5) & Food (5/5) I've come with friends on multiple occasions and have tried their House Milk Tea (5/5), Passion Fruit & Kumquat Tea w/ Aloe (5/5), White Peach Oolong Milk Tea (3/5), Mega Fruit Combo Tea (5/5) and Soy Mochi Milk Tea w/ Soy Cheese Top (3/5). Their sweetness levels are average, maybe slightly on the sweeter side. I definitely recommend their fruit teas and House Milk Tea. Just be careful if you get the House Milk Tea hot, I burned my tongue last time. The White Peach Oolong Milk Tea and Soy Mochi Milk Tea w/ Soy Cheese Top sounded good but the toppings (biscoff cookie and soy cheese top) tasted weird with the drink. I love getting the Bunny Surprise Tea just to see what plushies I get haha. It's been a different plushie each time. And you can choose between several different milk & fruit tea options for the Bunny Surprise Tea. I highly recommend the Popcorn Chicken (5/5), super crispy and peppery and is a large portion. Can easily be a meal lol or shared between a whole group. Price (5/5) Fair pricing for the area, drinks are $5-8 and food items are $9 and up, depending on what you purchase. Wait Time (4/5) It can be a long wait as there is only one kiosk/tablet to order from. Sometimes I wish the staff could help as cashiers and quicken the pace. Sometimes a longer wait for drinks/food as they have many takeout orders. Ambience (4/5) I love the interior of the place, especially the wallpaper. My only issue is there is not enough seating inside. There is a long wooden bench along one side of the wall and the opposite wall is occupied by a guqin/guzheng and artificial tree. The benches can only seat about ten to fifteen people. There are outdoor seating and tables available but I do wish there were more space inside. Service (5/5) No concerns. Staff are efficient. Parking/Access (5/5) Located directly on Castro Street where they are making the street a pedestrian-only zone. There are plenty of parking lots and garages in the area. read more

I don't like posting harsh reviews but I think this could help them fix some things. I hadn't read the recent review about long wait times before going here. I popped in because I was nearby. Waited 20-25 min. for two drinks. One was supposed to have a substitute but was incorrect.. didn't want to wait another 20 to remedy it. Since I was waiting inside for so long I noticed the seats were stained and the booth wasn't very clean in spots. read more
