The Korean banana milk boba is incredible. The staff could be little friendlier. I find the small corner shop makes this place so charming!!

Boba guys has one of my favorite boba franchises. The menu is simple but the drinks are always on point. Located right by downtown Los Altos. There is a parking lot near by the Safeway. You are able to order from the app or in person. The store itself is pretty minimal. There is no place to sit so I would take the drinks to go. The service is pretty quick. -hong Kong milk tea: 5/5, I've always really enjoyed this drink. The condensed milk adds a subtle sweetness to the milk tea. The boba is always cooked to perfection. -Thai tea: 4/5, strong Thai tea flavor. This is one of my boyfriend's favorite Thai tea drinks. You don't have the option to change the milk or sweetness level. -Ube milk tea: 3.5/5, My friend really liked the subtle sweetness of the drink. I was driving back to the city and I was thirsty so I decided to stop by here so here I am. I've been to their locations in San Ramon and Burlingame plenty of times, but it was my first time at this location. I ordered my go to the Korean banana milk. As always this drink was solid. I tried a hack or creation of my own, which was the Korean banana milk with an added extra shot of Matcha, which basically made it banana Matcha. This was on the sweeter side, even though I got less sugar so keep that in mind. It did have really good flavor to it and a good balance if you're looking for a creation if you like banana and matcha together. I'm surprised they didn't have this on a regular menu item option or maybe a secret menu. They have a Boba guys mobile passport for the rewards program, but I really feel like they are in need of an upgrade. For the frequent customers, that reward system isn't really in accumulation to get something, which is the whole point. Often times they do spin the wheel, which will only give you a percentage off. I feel like when you spend a certain amount of drinks like 10 you should be able to redeem a free drink or five dollars off as an incentive. read more

This is a smaller boba guys location and can get quite busy on the weekends. No tables to sit down at but there are barstools to sit while waiting. There was only one worker who was kind and apologized for the wait. I ordered my drink and it was finished pretty quickly and was exactly what I was hoping for. I've actually never been to this location of boba guys before. It's located in DT Los Altos and literally right on the corner. At first I missed it because I didn't see any signage, but just look for the black and white striped outside with hanging flowers. Very small shop inside so I'm glad I did the preorder option. There's also an iPad screen to order at the front if you want to do it on the spot. Boba texture is always on point and the quality of matcha is always on point. I prefer a stronger matcha taste, so I always have to pay for an extra shot to make it stronger. This time I got their new seasonal coconut yuzu matcha and was pleasantly surprised. It was coconutty with a slight zing and super refreshing. I didn't know how the flavor combo was gonna work, but it actually tied very well together. Onto the negative, with most of their drinks they do NOT even have the option to adjust the ice level and to top off. This means you end up with 60% ice and less drink. I really wish they changed this option. Ive asked a different location in the past and they did it, so I think it just depends on the person. There's also no where on the preorder page to write that in or add that as a customization. I also don't love the overall loyalty program via boba passport online that's linked with your phone or email. Hopefully they look into creating a separate app. read more

Boba guys is one of my favorite boba shops. I love the simple drink menu. My favorite drink is the strawberry match latte with its rich and not too sweet and the boba is perfectly chewy. But it is a bit pricey but the quality of the ingredients make it worth it. The store is really cute and modern right in downtown Los Altos with a lot of things to do around it. It's been a while since I've had Boba Guys. Wow! They have so many locations that have opened up. This new one in Los Altos was convenient for me post-Sunday hike. Since it had been so long, I went for something new, one of their seasonals - Pandan Caramel Matcha. I like Pandan, I like Matcha. Sounded like it could be good. Ordered online and waited inside. Was quietly keeping to myself and the staff were fairly quick to ask if I had a pick up order. Didn't take long - it was a rainy weekend and not many customers in DT Los Altos period, but I see this as a less busy location in general. Aside - not a fan of their new cups. I always drink these with a straw and the opening seems bigger than the older cups. Don't get me started on those straws either. Oh yes, love to be kind to the environment. Got the drink, tried it. Womp womp. Maybe it's my taste buds? Maybe I've been gone too long and forgot the Boba Guys taste? Not much matcha flavor, same with the pandan. I was craving more flavor. Sure I could've added an extra shot of matcha but should I need to? I don't at other shops. If you already like Boba Guys this is a good location for quick service. I'm usually not a fan of Boba Guys, but decided to give it another try since the only other boba place in downtown Los Altos was T4. The ambience of this Boba Guys was nice and clean, and you can order at the counter or online. I didn't feel like drinking tea, so I wanted to try either their banana milk or ube latte. Both were made using non-dairy milk by default, and the barista turned me down when I asked if my drinks can be made with regular dairy milk instead. He was nice enough to let me sample the banana milk which contains oat milk, and told me that he can remake the drink if I was not satisfied. I felt slightly bad for inconveniencing him and ended up getting the ube latte which contains coconut milk. As I had expected, the flavor of the coconut milk dominated the flavor of the ube; it wasn't bad but was also not what I was craving for. Oh well, it was still a refreshing drink on a hot day, and the good service provided by this place earned it the 4/5. read more

Came here on a Sunday afternoon with a few friends after brunch! There was no line and we ordered right away. My friend had asked a few questions about the different drink options and they were able to offer us a sample! The staff were extremely friendly and offered to make any adjustments to our drinks! Love love love Boba Guys! I really wish that a location would open up in San Diego but until then, I'll take any opportunity to stop by for my boba fix when visiting family in the Bay Area. A few things 1. Order online if you're in a rush. It's very efficient and easy to use. There is a pick up area where you'll find your drink with the receipt. 2. Easy to customize your order. I'm not a fan of overly sweet drinks so I love that I can request less sugar. 3. Street parking and a few parking lots in the area. We've gone during the weekend and random week days and haven't had much trouble finding parking. 4. Wonderful customer service. The staff are very helpful when it comes to suggestions based on your preferences. 5. Throughout the years I've tried a few drinks, whether seasonal or traditional. My personal favorite is a strawberry matcha latte with boba, the strawberry puree is delicious combined with everything else is delicious! My husband likes Korean banana milk (house made banana jam with oat milk) with or without boba. Honestly you can't go wrong with anything on the menu! read more

Boba guys is finally open! When tin pot moved to the State St Market, that prime corner location on State and First was empty. When the Boba Guys signage went up, there was quite a stir in town. Boba Guys in Los Altos--whoo hoo! So finally after a long wait, we saw the soft opening and dropped in. No line, at least not yet. Everything was shiny and new, including the online order pick up sign. I think many Boba Guys locations don't have order ahead anymore, but this new location will. I ordered my go-to drink--the Strawberry Matcha Latte, with boba. They use organic straus dairy milk, the rich creamy stuff. It was great as usual. Pro-tip: swirl the drink around to mix the layers, or you'll only get strawberry, then milk, then bitter matcha. We also tried the Jasmine Green. While they do have oat milk, we stayed with the default Straus half and half. Somehow, oat milk doesn't go well will green tea. And as always, we're thrilled that Boba Guys is using biodegradable bamboo fiber straws. They're one of the most sustainable boba shops out there, with an aim to have zero waste stores. Very delicious but I wish the prices hadn't gone up so much! My favorites: - Strawberry matcha with oat, with boba - Caramel matcha with oat (seasonal special), with boba - Traditional black milk tea, with boba - And I love the Sanzo sodas they carry, though I'm only willing to spend the ~$3 if I'm really craving it - all of the flavors are delicous! Visited this Los Altos location after lunch this past weekend. Saw a sign outside for "Sapin Sapin: A classic filipino dessert recreated in drink form. Made from jackfruit, coconut milk, and ube sprinkled with toasted coconut." I knew I had to try it! Service was friendly and prompt. Boba shop space was pretty cozy but clean and welcoming. I am a big fan of Boba Guys and was in the mood for some drinks while wandering this part of Los Altos. We ordered the classic Strawberry Matcha Latte with boba (sub for oat milk) and the Decaf Black Tea with boba (sub for oat milk). I loved the fact that they had a decaf tea option since I am pretty sensitive to caffeine but just can't seem to stay away from boba. It was really good and the oat milk added an extra creaminess that you usually wouldn't get from your typical milk teas. The boba had a perfect texture and sweetness to it as well. The Strawberry Matcha Latte was also delicious, but I wish the ratio was more proportional (it had a little too much strawberry and not enough of the matcha). The staff was noticeably more of the younger crowd, but they were very friendly and the service was quick. Boba Guys opened in Los Altos....yup life is good. I decided to get a drink for me and my sister since I was already in Downtown Los Altos! They are still in soft opening phase. The store itself is very small and narrow, like maybe three customers max could fit comfortably in it. So more of a grab and go place, but there's plenty of benches around downtown! I got myself a strawberry matcha latte with oat milk and boba, and a strawberry fresca with boba for my sister! The drinks did end up taking 10+ minutes since the workers are still in training. But hey, I've worked a soft opening at a boba shop back when I was 16 and had no idea what I was doing so I am understanding LOL. The strawberry matcha latte was really good! I always forget to stir it up really good so I end up drinking mostly strawberry puree at first and getting really bitter matcha at the end. But definitely consistent with Boba Guys quality! My sister said her drink was great as well. I would give it maybe another month or two before returning :) read more

Been to most Boba Guys in the Bay Area and this is by far the worst. Ordered ahead and arrived maybe 5 mins before to check out the place. There were maybe 3 guest a head of me placing orders in person - all of them got the orders before us. Then we still waited another 10 mins and the barista person placed our orders on the shelf. I tired to ask him if the order was mine because our drinks should all look the same with slight deviations in toppings and sweetness but all i got was a cold shoulder - he didn't even acknowledge me. Mind you, this place isn't big like the one in Fillmore or even the size of San Carlos. It's small. For a worker there to straight up ignore you is rude. Horrible customer service. Drinks were meh. Nothing special about a $7 boba (not even large). All our drinks had ice filled to the brim too. Andrew and team really need to onboard this location better. The culture and sprint of boba is missing here. Felt more like Starbucks - gentrified drinks. read more

As much as I do enjoy their drinks they have been terrible at large orders (30-60+) for group events. I reached out multiple times trying to get them for corporate group events, but they don't respond or they have dropped my order a day prior to the event. The times I've gotten in contact with them was for catering orders for my larger team events (150+) and even then communication is not the best for customer service. Trying to be hopeful for future events but if it is not catered of 150+ drinks I would suggest ordering from another boba spot, since it is thought to reach them on 40-60 drinks. read more

I miss several things about Boba Guys... one being their great customer service and secondly, their flavorful drinks. I'm not sure if it's just this location or what, but I seem to always be disappointed here. Also, the cups don't hold up as well as the other ones used to. I know the marketing appeal is gone, and it could be due to costs (more so than likely) that the old cups are gone, but these new cups tend to spill more. It's gone downhill. read more

This is a nice Boba Guys in Los Altos. It's right across the street from the Safeway and feels very pleasant to chill at outside. There is no indoor seating in this location, so you'd have to sit outside or take the drink with you. The staff was really nice and friendly. One of them even complimented my Doctor Who shirt so it was fun to geek out for a bit there. My go-to drink is the decaf black milk tea with boba, 0% sugar. This is one of the few places that does decaf black milk tea (and not just have taro or fruit drinks for decaf options) so I'm happy they can let me enjoy boba after 12pm and not stay up for 100 years. The drink overall is a bit on the mild side compared to other boba places but I still like it. 0% sugar is actually not very sweet at all - the residual syrup from the boba is really not sweet. I think my favorite sweetness would probably be more 10% but the lowest they go is like 25/30%. read more

I really wanted to love them. Their opening was highly anticipated and I finally got to try them out. I chose the classic strawberry matcha drink without ice as otherwise the whole drink is just ice cubes. The staff was very young and there were five crew members standing behind the counter. The drink took 15min to prepare. That's very long for a simple drink and the amount of staff. The taste was ok but not overwhelming. There was extremely little strawberry in the drink which was disappointing. I couldn't it at all. The drink was also not cold which makes me wonder as most of the drink is milk and should be refrigerated... I know I chose without ice cubes but the drink should still not be warm-ish. read more

Jasmine green tea with 50% sweetness was excellent. The quality of the tea was excellent. Love that they offer organic Strauss milk, in addition to non dairy options. The boba was delicious, too. This is usually my go to chain for boba. I will always get strawberry matcha latte. Then I get to pretend I am creative and make some adjustments. 1). I change it up and get either oat milk or other fav Organic Strauss milk (if I plan to stay home I can take the lactose intolerance risk). 2). I might also change from regular to less ice or even no ice. With no ice I can maximize and get more the drink that might actually cost money (Unless they just add more water, then I'm n00bed). XD 3) I will adjust the size of the cup with different trade offs. (e.g. Smaller cup for less calories and the feeling like I spent less money. Larger cup I probably gives you lower $/qty ratio.) 4).
