I've been to Junbi a few times now, and it has quickly become one of my favorite matcha spots in the area. // Guava Matcha latte My go-to! It's light, fruity, and incredibly refreshing without being overly sweet. I appreciate that the fruit complements the matcha rather than overpowering it, making it an easy drink to enjoy on a warm day. Their matcha itself is smooth and high quality, though I'd describe it as being on the lighter, more delicate side. If you're used to richer, creamier einspänner-style matcha lattes, just know this has a much lighter and more refreshing profile. There is an underground parking garage shared with the retail spaces and apartment complex. Sometimes they will also host pop-up events featuring local Bay Area bakeries. I thought it was such a thoughtful way to bring together small businesses and introduce customers to some incredible local bakers!
Was around this side of South Bay and wanted something to drink. I've been to multiple Junbi locations, but this was my first time at this location. Their matcha has always been good and I've alway enjoyed their guava matcha. Guava Matcha (5/5): Perfectly balanced between tropical and earthy. I definitely recommend this if you want matcha with a tropical fruity taste. I'll probably come back here again
Came here because of the Snoopy collab. They had a bunch of Snoopy merch, decorations and drinks, which were chocolate hazelnut. I got the chocolate hazelnut coffee latte and it was honestly okay. The chocolate hazelnut flavor was very overpowering, making it more of a dessert milk drink than coffee. I'm happy that I tried it but for the price I wouldn't be back. I ordered through a kiosk which was nice. They have a parking garage next door which made parking easy.
Decided to finally try this place out. It's apple season I suppose so I tried their apple cider matcha or something like that and was disappointed.i love anything apple but it just tasted like apple cider vinegar. Also ordered vanilla matcha and that was good very light. Lots to choose from their menu, I'll probably swing by to try it out again if I'm in the area.
Always a favorite of mine, but this was my first time visiting this California location after previously trying their Hawaii shop. The café is located beneath an apartment complex, and there's guest parking available in the underground garage, which made visiting pretty convenient on a Friday afternoon. I will note there may be limited parking depending on the hours you visit. There's plenty of seating inside along with a restroom so I can see myself working here for a long time. They also have self-ordering kiosks available, although one was out of service during my visit and the screen was a bit sticky. Service was quick, and our drinks came out surprisingly fast. I visited during their seasonal pear series, so I had to try the Pear Matcha since no other places really have it. It was light, refreshing, and the pear added just the right amount of natural sweetness without overpowering the matcha. My cousin ordered the Guava Matcha, which I've also tried before at their Hawaii location, and it's still one of my favorites. Overall, another great experience and a reminder of why this spot remains one of my go-to matcha places. I'm hoping the Pear Matcha becomes a permanent menu item because it was that good!
Had this bookmarked for awhile. Strawberry chrysanthemum tea and yuzu dragonfruit tea were just okay. I feel that the dragonfruit was syrup and not the real thing for the pricey drink. The strawberry was overpowered by the chrysanthemum so it wasn't balanced. Free parking downstairs is a really big plus because there's literally no street parking. Service was awesome and friendly.
Went here after a long trip! Parking is tough and under an apartment complex. Staff here are super friendly and chill. It's very clean and spotless. We ordered: - Guava Matcha - Pear Matcha Latte - Strawberry Cloud Matcha Everything was delicious and we finished our drink super quick.
Decent matcha in a convenient location. Lots of parking underneath because it's in an apartment complex. Nothing to write home about but nothing to critique too heavily either. Would be nice if they had an additional kiosk for ordering during peak times but other than that it's a decent spot.
Junbi has quickly become one of my favorite matcha spots in the Bay Area! JUNBI IS UNDERRATED AND IT NEEDS TO BE TALKED ABOUT MORE!! With so many matcha options around San Jose and nearby cities, this location still stands out to me for its smooth texture, balanced flavors, and consistent quality. The drinks are not overly sweet and feel thoughtfully crafted. I love how they use the RIGHT type of matcha, that pairs well with their flavors.. if you know what I mean, then you know! For the variety of items I tried, this is what I got: Strawberry jasmine green tea Guava matcha latte Blueberry lavender matcha Persimmon matcha with persimmon cold foam Mango matcha Strawberry matcha Matcha cold brew Guava cold brew Strawberry refresher Strawberry hojicha latte Rice ball flight with snow crab, salmon, and mentaiko My favorite was definitely the blueberry lavender matcha. Their cold foam series is honestly very good and adds a fun twist to traditional matcha drinks. I also really enjoyed the persimmon matcha with persimmon cold foam, which tasted refreshing and unique. From what I understand, this flavor may be limited or seasonal, so it is worth asking staff if it is still available. One item that genuinely surprised me was the Mango Mission soft serve. It is a matcha vanilla swirl soft serve topped with mango purée and chia pudding. It was very refreshing, unique, and the chia pudding added a texture I did not expect but ended up really enjoying! The space itself is very beautiful and very clean, making it a comfortable place to sit and enjoy your drink or dessert. They also sell merchandise and matcha products in store, which adds to the overall experience. The staff were super nice and attentive throughout the visit! Overall, this is still one of my favorite matcha spots that I would gladly return to!
Loved the hojicha latte here! Got it iced on a hot day and have been craving a good hojicha latte for a while-I do wish there were more cafes that served hojicha along with matcha in the South Bay. Also tried some of the vanilla matcha swirl soft serve, which was quite sweet so I would probably try just the matcha next time. The inside was a bit packed and it was hard to find a table that would comfortably seat 5 people so we squeezed together at a smaller table. The parking structure is a bit confusing but nice that there is a garage available for retail parking.
This place is a favorite amongst many for good reason! They use high quality matcha (they have uji matcha ), hojicha, and loose leaf's tea. Truly an option for any milk tea lover. Taste: I get 0% sugar and the hojicha did not disappoint! They use fresh milk and strong tea, so I found myself finishing my drink quickly. I also really liked their vanilla ice cream. Parking: Very convenient underground parking lot right by them. Service: They've always been kind of accommodating. Truly a job to interact with!
I had a little time after work and decided to try this place per recommendation from a friend. It wasn't busy and walked up to the kiosk to order. I selected the Madagascar Vanilla Bean Cold Brew with organic soy milk and a flight of all three of their rice balls to go. The wait was only a few minutes and I was able to get my drink and food. The matcha was delicious and with the vanilla bean just sweet enough without it being too much. Love the combination of flavors to balance out the bitterness of matcha with the vanilla bean. The rice balls I opened up when I got home and they put the nori into a separate bag and the each rice ball was wrapped up in plastic. I had a mentaiko, snow crab, and salmon rice balls. Once assembled they were absolutely delicious and still warm. Mentaiko was salty but so savory at the same time, the snow crab was the best since it wasn't super salty but also had some sweetness to it, and the salmon was really good. Honestly I would have loved another flight of these rice balls. Will come back to try some of the other drink options.
Good strong hojicha hot milk tea. Full on roasted green tea flavor. Got it less sweet which was perfect. Good price for the size of the cup. The Persimmon Matcha is seasonal. Bottom layer of the drink was persimmon puree so also full on flavor. Persimmon kinda reminds me of apricot and light molasses mixed together. The Mango Matcha soft serve was yummy. Smooth, creamy ice cream with light matcha flavor which is perfect because it didn't overwhelm the sweet tart mango drizzle. Matcha flavor was not bitter at all. Like it a lot. Cute open sitting area. Nice staff, too. Parking garage in the back of the store in same building.

Sooooo good! Super clean inside and friendly staff. They have kiosks to order from wmthats to the right when you first walk in, or you can order with an actual person. Staff is so friendly and sweet too! They also got merch, a sticker machine, and I was digging their crochet decor! Matcha is consistently tasty, too! read more
Junbi. Japanese verb. Almost identical to the Taiwanese pronunciation: Tsun bee. To get ready. Or to prepare "daringly", as their slogan exclaims. Low-key feeling lost in translation with respect to the business moniker? Just go with it, because every aspect of this matcha cafe, from menu to service to product to flavors to interior design to collaboration, is a delight. Get thee ready for matcha madness. I'm no matcha maven or obsessor, I just know what I enjoy. And I enjoyed the heck out of Junbi's soft serve. Generous tall cup with lychee topping (bottoming) and a dusting of hoji Cha. I got straight matcha flavour because, what are you even doing at a matcha store if you ain't having any. Vanilla matcha swirl or vanilla soft serve is order-able too. It bee like, smoothest nicest green tea ice cream ever. My friend with a sophisticated wide-ranging palate agreed. Pronounced pleasant matcha taste. The micro-diced lychee and roasted tea dust enhanced all of its core deliciousness. Junbi makes Affo Gato (soft serve with a shot of espresso or matcha) as well as sundaes with names like Guava Gauntlet and Mango Mission that contain fruit purée and toppings (e.g. aloe, chia seeds, cacao nibs, almond jelly, coconut chips). Customise to your heart's content. Oh ohh, onigiri is offered too. It's a rice ball -- well more a triangle -- filled with savoury stuff. A Japanese snack staple. Of course their main stock in trade is premium matcha. Junbi is ~prepared~ (ha!) to create any matcha or coffee thing. Plus a solid non-caffeinated beverage menu with variants such as hibiscus, dragon fruit, chrysanthemum. Blended, slushy, matcha, coffee, tea... Jun bi can do. BTW also *prepare* to see internationally popular brand collabs. Last year, Miffy, a bunny. Netherlands : Miffy :: Japan : Hello Kitty Snoopy and Charlie Brown, this year. Characters beloved by many worldwide but particularly in Japan. You could snag all the various swag as long as you hit at season launch. Yup yup, beddah junbi junbi.. because if you no Jun bi, miss da window, collection bi sad. What else... those cylindrical seats in the shop may look hm not so comfortable, but they work for me. Cute cafe that serves a variety of matcha and other tea drinks. They also have ice cream! There's underground retail parking. The stairway leads right next to the entrance of the store. You can order online or at the kiosk in store. Staff is quick to make drinks and are knowledgeable about drinks being served. Any cold drinks ordered via their online website are put into a fridge while awaiting pickup. I felt the hojicha was a bit watered down and small for its price point. The ganbaru ceremonial matcha cold brew was not extremely rich in taste and also had a high price point for size. Overall, drinks are cute to look at and the teas are just ok. I did stay a while to do work using the wifi. The shop itself was comfortable and had electrical outlets for plugging my charger into. The restroom was out of order during my visit, but guests were allowed to use the retail parking's restroom (which was extremely clean and well kept!). It's a nice cafe to catch up with friends, get work done, and have a quick drink. Would love to come back to try their other desserts or teas! read more

I tried the seasonal Junbi Meets BT21: galaxy-inspired drinks and special-edition BT21 merch. Each drink is refreshing, creamy, and crafted with Junbi's signature touch. The strong nutty black sesame complements the strong coffee or matcha flavors, and light creaminess of the purple sweet potato. I also enjoyed the matcha and hojicha lattes. The matcha soft serve was also a delight! Love the shop environment and vibes. read more
Back again for the persimmon matcha! Good flavor, persimmon puree was nice and sweet. Sad it's a seasonal item, but I'll enjoy it while it lasts! Quick and friendly service. Decent amount of seating to hang out and chill. read more

It was eh, I expected more flavor of matcha and hojicha from here. The strawberry hojicha latte had mild hojicha flavor. Kind of like a chocolate milk flavor when tried separately. Once mixed with the fruit, the strawberry flavor was super sweet and also had tons of seeds in there. The hojicha flavor became non-existent. Disappointing. The guava matcha latte sounded unique (I don't see guava offered everywhere). The matcha flavor was a bit weak when tried on its own. Stronger than the hojicha, but still weaker than other shops. Once the guava flavor gets mixed in, all you get is guava and it is pretty sweet. Like overly sweet. It also had a thick consistency which was not pleasant to drink. Almost like cornstarch?? Not good. The matcha vanilla swirl soft serve was so-so, the flavor was not super matcha-y. The vanilla was a bit bland, overall it's just an icy treat. It was not worth it imo. read more
Went with some friends to celebrate their Peanuts release, but came late and no more Snoopy!! Parking can be a bit tricky, but street or garage parking is plentiful and just a short walk away. Cute interior with two self service kiosks and was so excited to try this newer spot- got 3 chocolate hazelnut lattes (one with oat) & 1 blended chocolate hazelnut matcha (the rest whole milk). I think the foam was left off one drink, but they all still tasted the same- on the milkier side and pretty sweet. The matcha was solid as well, but the latte may have a stronger overall flavor as the blended drink ended up being more ice than I was hoping. read more
adorable peanuts collab!! i wish i knew about this sooner for the exclusive merch. the matcha hazelnut was delicious, but i would need to adjust the sweetness a bit next time. the hazelnut is a tad overwhelming so the matcha gets hidden. same goes for the hojicha which ended up tasting more like chocolate hazelnut milk. its easy to spot the shop and parking is available in the underground garage. read more
Came here for a book event hosted by Kindred Curiosity, "Stories We Swap: Where stories meet connection -- and every book finds a new home," promoting author Amanda Sung's debut novel "How to Break a Girl." Really sweet and cute space! The staff was super nice and accommodating of us. I ordered a few onigiris, and they gave me the wrong one, but were quick to correct my order and I got a snow crab for free. Great space for bubble tea, snacks, and gatherings! read more
I live near here so I come by often. I tried their new persimmon matcha latte recently and I was amazed. It took me back to my childhood because my family had persimmon trees while I was growing up, and so I would pick them and we would eat them fresh daily. How nostalgic! They nailed it. Good sweetness and balance with the matcha, milk and cream topping. (The color also remind me of Ireland since I just had a quick trip to there recently, haha.) Also, this place was my little good luck charm. I applied for jobs here after I got laid off, and happy to say, I landed a position quickly. So.. all in all, it's a go-to spot for me for drinks, rice balls, and WiFi. The staff are always friendly too. They opened this year so it's super clean inside too. No bathroom, but there is in the parking garage ground floor. Naturally, I have had quite a few things here like the guava and strawberry matcha latte. I recommend both. My personal recommendation is to not adjust the sweetness. I adjusted it before and got a low sweetness before, and for me, it just tasted like milk. My personal preference at Junbi is to not adjust sweetness and take it as it -- everyone has their own preferences! read more
Super cute!! It is located right on San Antonio so no true street parking but there is an underground garage just next to the shop with retail parking so overall pretty convenient. The shop itself is super cute. Lots of matcha oriented merch available. To order they have two touchscreens by the entrance. However they do have a large menu overhanging the counter so you don't have to queue for the ordering screen. There's definitely a good variety of options between teas and lattes to suit your preferences. I could not resist getting the seasonal Persimmon matcha! The housemade persimmon puree made this a magical experience. The matcha itself was decent but not the best I have had - would describe it as solid. There are options when ordering to upgrade or add additional matcha so something to keep in mind for the fanatics. All that said - the matcha flavor was there. For those that love black sesame, the galaxy drink is bomb. If you don't like black sesame, the flavor is not subtle. We also got the rice ball trio to go as we needed a little between meal snack. These were honestly pretty filling split between two people. The Salmon was my personal favorite. read more

Junbi is such a gem! The Guava Matcha Latte uses real purée and has the perfect flavor balance. The BT21 Galaxy (Black Sesame Ube) was incredible--a bold, rich black sesame flavor that felt like a premium smoothie. Parking is available downstairs in the garage. Beyond the drinks, the vibe is super cute and aesthetic. They have free Wi-Fi and several tables, making it a great spot to get some work done. Highly recommend for both the drinks and the productive atmosphere! Definitely would recommend coming here! read more
We have been fans of Junbi since first trying it in Waikiki. I am long overdue for a review of Mountain View location as we've already been twice. There's free parking underground which is nice. Just a short walk up some stairs, or an elevator for your convenience. The space is always always clean. Love the 2 kiosks for ordering. Makes it easier to customize and pay. I always order a matcha cold brew as I'm not very keen on milk. Love the fruitiness aspect with the guava and mango. I just wish they could have the POG flavor, but maybe it's only limited to their Waikiki location (which makes sense to me). My daughter ordered the hojicha. While it had the good nutty flavor it also just tasted mostly of milk. Service was quick. They're fast with their turn around of drinks. Good thing it's far from us, bc I could see this being a very bad habit. Yes, the SF location is closer but not as convenient. read more
Amaaazing matcha shop for all matcha x boba x BTS lovers with so many options! First time here I usually don't prefer matcha but this persimmon matcha latte I had with oat milk and half sweet was so delicious I fell to the floor quite literally after drinking it because hands down it is one of my favorite sips in the Bay Area to date. I am obsessed with this place. Found them from the Bay Area eats IG page, and it did not disappoint! First of all, we love when there is free garage parking for the shops on the street. The garage opening is a couple doors down from Junbi, you can't miss it. Of course, I ordered their Persimmon Matcha latte. Customized it to have boba and also oat milk. Which brought my latte out to be $10, which is definitely pricey for a drink. Was it worth? I'd say yes, since it is so unique, and as a persimmon lover, it REALLY delivered. The persimmon at the bottom almost felt pulpy, so it wasn't a juice or extract but like the actual fruit. I got it with less sugar, and it was definitely sweet enough! I think the persimmon did a lot of heavy lifting. The interior of the cafe is SO cute. You could order from the electronic kiosk on the side, or at the counter with the staff. I've had Junbi in Hawaii but was stoked to catch this location during persimmon season with secret menu items (love persimmon). Ordered the persimmon matcha with soy milk and aloe (or was it lychee hmm). The matcha was really matcha-ing and I loved that. It was pretty sweet even with reduced sugar. I appreciate they had chargers so I could work on my computer for a little bit while enjoying my drink. They do have more of a stool set up so don't plan to stay a while. I don't love the inside ambience - it's a little dull with all the yellow. The staff was really friendly and greeted me upon arrival, but I decided to use a kiosk so I could take my time and have a visual order. read more
My Socal friends have told me about Junbi before, and I stumbled across this place while looking for a spot to visit with my friends. We were pleasantly surprised with the taste! Inside is super cute and warmly decorated. I enjoyed my matcha soft serve with extra powder on top and boba, and my friend enjoyed her matcha cold brew. She said it was a more matcha heavy drink than the latte option, so she was glad! The soft serve here is a bit milkier than Matcha Cafe Maiko, and Maiko is a bit airier IMO. Would love to come here and try one of their drinks another day where I'm able to visit in the morning. I was very excited to try the persimmon matcha but was deeply disappointed. The persimmon flavor was overpowering the matcha and it tasted very milky. I really liked how they made the salmon rice balls. The store inside was very cute inside I loved all the decorations, matcha display, and the menu showing past seasonal flavors. Matcha in Mountain View, count me in! I came by here during a popup event hosted at Junbi, but I was drawn to the special persimmon matcha that they sold here. As someone who loves persimmons + matcha, I had to try it! The drink itself was very aesthetically appealing, with the layer of persimmons at the bottom and the persimmon cold foam on top. Overall, the persimmons blended well with the matcha, almost to the point where I was tasting more persimmon than matcha. The price point is a little steep at $8, but this one of the priciest matcha drinks they offer. The ordering process was quite seamless, as there's a tablet next to the entrance that you order from. There's a dedicated free parking structure for the complex that houses Junbi and a couple of other businesses, which was super nice. read more

I tried Junbi for the first time recently, and I was really impressed! I decided to try the cold guava matcha latte, and the flavor combination was outstanding. The matcha was super smooth, authentic, and blended perfectly with the refreshing, tropical sweetness of the guava.
