I've been to Junbi a few times now, and it has quickly become one of my favorite matcha spots in the area. // Guava Matcha latte My go-to! It's light, fruity, and incredibly refreshing without being overly sweet. I appreciate that the fruit complements the matcha rather than overpowering it, making it an easy drink to enjoy on a warm day. Their matcha itself is smooth and high quality, though I'd describe it as being on the lighter, more delicate side. If you're used to richer, creamier einspänner-style matcha lattes, just know this has a much lighter and more refreshing profile. There is an underground parking garage shared with the retail spaces and apartment complex. Sometimes they will also host pop-up events featuring local Bay Area bakeries. I thought it was such a thoughtful way to bring together small businesses and introduce customers to some incredible local bakers!
Was around this side of South Bay and wanted something to drink. I've been to multiple Junbi locations, but this was my first time at this location. Their matcha has always been good and I've alway enjoyed their guava matcha. Guava Matcha (5/5): Perfectly balanced between tropical and earthy. I definitely recommend this if you want matcha with a tropical fruity taste. I'll probably come back here again
Came here because of the Snoopy collab. They had a bunch of Snoopy merch, decorations and drinks, which were chocolate hazelnut. I got the chocolate hazelnut coffee latte and it was honestly okay. The chocolate hazelnut flavor was very overpowering, making it more of a dessert milk drink than coffee. I'm happy that I tried it but for the price I wouldn't be back. I ordered through a kiosk which was nice. They have a parking garage next door which made parking easy.
Decided to finally try this place out. It's apple season I suppose so I tried their apple cider matcha or something like that and was disappointed.i love anything apple but it just tasted like apple cider vinegar. Also ordered vanilla matcha and that was good very light. Lots to choose from their menu, I'll probably swing by to try it out again if I'm in the area.
Always a favorite of mine, but this was my first time visiting this California location after previously trying their Hawaii shop. The café is located beneath an apartment complex, and there's guest parking available in the underground garage, which made visiting pretty convenient on a Friday afternoon. I will note there may be limited parking depending on the hours you visit. There's plenty of seating inside along with a restroom so I can see myself working here for a long time. They also have self-ordering kiosks available, although one was out of service during my visit and the screen was a bit sticky. Service was quick, and our drinks came out surprisingly fast. I visited during their seasonal pear series, so I had to try the Pear Matcha since no other places really have it. It was light, refreshing, and the pear added just the right amount of natural sweetness without overpowering the matcha. My cousin ordered the Guava Matcha, which I've also tried before at their Hawaii location, and it's still one of my favorites. Overall, another great experience and a reminder of why this spot remains one of my go-to matcha places. I'm hoping the Pear Matcha becomes a permanent menu item because it was that good!
Had this bookmarked for awhile. Strawberry chrysanthemum tea and yuzu dragonfruit tea were just okay. I feel that the dragonfruit was syrup and not the real thing for the pricey drink. The strawberry was overpowered by the chrysanthemum so it wasn't balanced. Free parking downstairs is a really big plus because there's literally no street parking. Service was awesome and friendly.
Went here after a long trip! Parking is tough and under an apartment complex. Staff here are super friendly and chill. It's very clean and spotless. We ordered: - Guava Matcha - Pear Matcha Latte - Strawberry Cloud Matcha Everything was delicious and we finished our drink super quick.
Decent matcha in a convenient location. Lots of parking underneath because it's in an apartment complex. Nothing to write home about but nothing to critique too heavily either. Would be nice if they had an additional kiosk for ordering during peak times but other than that it's a decent spot.
Junbi has quickly become one of my favorite matcha spots in the Bay Area! JUNBI IS UNDERRATED AND IT NEEDS TO BE TALKED ABOUT MORE!! With so many matcha options around San Jose and nearby cities, this location still stands out to me for its smooth texture, balanced flavors, and consistent quality. The drinks are not overly sweet and feel thoughtfully crafted. I love how they use the RIGHT type of matcha, that pairs well with their flavors.. if you know what I mean, then you know! For the variety of items I tried, this is what I got: Strawberry jasmine green tea Guava matcha latte Blueberry lavender matcha Persimmon matcha with persimmon cold foam Mango matcha Strawberry matcha Matcha cold brew Guava cold brew Strawberry refresher Strawberry hojicha latte Rice ball flight with snow crab, salmon, and mentaiko My favorite was definitely the blueberry lavender matcha. Their cold foam series is honestly very good and adds a fun twist to traditional matcha drinks. I also really enjoyed the persimmon matcha with persimmon cold foam, which tasted refreshing and unique. From what I understand, this flavor may be limited or seasonal, so it is worth asking staff if it is still available. One item that genuinely surprised me was the Mango Mission soft serve. It is a matcha vanilla swirl soft serve topped with mango purée and chia pudding. It was very refreshing, unique, and the chia pudding added a texture I did not expect but ended up really enjoying! The space itself is very beautiful and very clean, making it a comfortable place to sit and enjoy your drink or dessert. They also sell merchandise and matcha products in store, which adds to the overall experience. The staff were super nice and attentive throughout the visit! Overall, this is still one of my favorite matcha spots that I would gladly return to!
Loved the hojicha latte here! Got it iced on a hot day and have been craving a good hojicha latte for a while-I do wish there were more cafes that served hojicha along with matcha in the South Bay. Also tried some of the vanilla matcha swirl soft serve, which was quite sweet so I would probably try just the matcha next time. The inside was a bit packed and it was hard to find a table that would comfortably seat 5 people so we squeezed together at a smaller table. The parking structure is a bit confusing but nice that there is a garage available for retail parking.
This place is a favorite amongst many for good reason! They use high quality matcha (they have uji matcha ), hojicha, and loose leaf's tea. Truly an option for any milk tea lover. Taste: I get 0% sugar and the hojicha did not disappoint! They use fresh milk and strong tea, so I found myself finishing my drink quickly. I also really liked their vanilla ice cream. Parking: Very convenient underground parking lot right by them. Service: They've always been kind of accommodating. Truly a job to interact with!
I had a little time after work and decided to try this place per recommendation from a friend. It wasn't busy and walked up to the kiosk to order. I selected the Madagascar Vanilla Bean Cold Brew with organic soy milk and a flight of all three of their rice balls to go. The wait was only a few minutes and I was able to get my drink and food. The matcha was delicious and with the vanilla bean just sweet enough without it being too much. Love the combination of flavors to balance out the bitterness of matcha with the vanilla bean. The rice balls I opened up when I got home and they put the nori into a separate bag and the each rice ball was wrapped up in plastic. I had a mentaiko, snow crab, and salmon rice balls. Once assembled they were absolutely delicious and still warm. Mentaiko was salty but so savory at the same time, the snow crab was the best since it wasn't super salty but also had some sweetness to it, and the salmon was really good. Honestly I would have loved another flight of these rice balls. Will come back to try some of the other drink options.
Good strong hojicha hot milk tea. Full on roasted green tea flavor. Got it less sweet which was perfect. Good price for the size of the cup. The Persimmon Matcha is seasonal. Bottom layer of the drink was persimmon puree so also full on flavor. Persimmon kinda reminds me of apricot and light molasses mixed together. The Mango Matcha soft serve was yummy. Smooth, creamy ice cream with light matcha flavor which is perfect because it didn't overwhelm the sweet tart mango drizzle. Matcha flavor was not bitter at all. Like it a lot. Cute open sitting area. Nice staff, too. Parking garage in the back of the store in same building.
I've come to this Matcha spot a couple of times in the past 2 months and overall, it tastes pretty good. They have many options to choose from with varying sweetness levels. The staff is kind and they were helpful in clarifying some questions I had when I came my first time. So far I've had the Guava Matcha Latte, Strawberry Matcha and the BT21 collaboration Matcha. I wasn't a fan of the BT21 collaboration flavor but the strawberry and guava matcha lattes are good. I usually get my drinks less sweet but you can have the drink sweeter if that is your preference. One thing that is on my list to try is the cold brew matcha. I think it's supposed to resemble cold brew coffee using cold water to mix the matcha instead of hot water. Overall, the matcha here is pretty good and it's usually one of my stops when I'm in Mountain View. read more

Quick update: went back to Junbi for some delicious soft serve, and they are collaborating with Snoopy! They have cute Junbi/Snoopy merch and adorable Snoopy photo ops! Junbi is a cute matcha/coffee shop! The space is cozy and has chairs and tables to enjoy your beverage/treat. I ordered a Matcha Affogato soft serve with coconut flakes - the matcha was swirl with vanilla. The matcha is delicious and light, and the small chunks of ice give a great texture! The service was quick and the staff were welcoming! read more

A fairly new Matcha spot in Mountain View. I remember seeing Junbi in Hawaii and never got a chance to try it, so I was excited that they opened one in the South Bay! Decided to come here during my lunch with my coworkers because we were all craving matcha. I went with the Guava Matcha Latte. It is pretty good, you get a nice balance of the matcha and sweet guava. It didn't taste artificial - which I liked. We also were offered free samples of their soft serve, which was pretty good. Maybe if I'm feeling a soft serve, I will get it next time. The shop itself is clean and pretty modern. There is also cute merch! Parking is easy, there is a parking garage for retail. read more
Cafe has a few tables inside and is right above the parking garage which is super convenient! I got their matcha affogato with boba and it tasted great. The matcha ice cream was smoooooth and the boba was nice and chewy. I will say, I was under the impression that affogato was liquid with ice cream on the side and not ice cream with liquid drizzled so, FYI. Also the matcha shot drizzle was frozen on the ice cream. This was more of a sundae imo. That said, can confirm there's definitely matcha in there! Make sure you can handle your caffeine or you'll be up late like me hehe. read more
I tried their ceremonial grade matcha at one of the summer fairs in sunnyvale. It's a dollar extra to move to ceremonial grade and totally worth it. They use all top quality ingredients from the milk to the matcha. They pre blend their matcha to push out service fast. I would love to try this in store in their mountain view location. They also sell their own blend of matcha which is quite affordable read more
My new favorite place for matcha! We stop by here whenever we're driving through Mountain View for the matcha lattes. My favorite one is the Guava Matcha Latte. Unlike a lot of other matcha places, the matcha doesn't taste overpoweringly grassy and instead tastes scrumptiously earthy. It's also a smooth sip without any hint of powdery-ness or graininess. The guava tastes like natural guava too, not syrup. The interior is nicely modern with bright yellow walls and is always clean, even when we go later at night. There's two kiosks to order from and a nice wall with fake grass and the Junbi logo to take a pic of your drink with! Parking is easy too with underground retail parking spaces. read more

I first heard about Junbi's Livermore location but never had the chance to stop by. I always thought I'd get stuck in traffic due to all the outlet shoppers taking the same exit. Super excited to find out an Instagram foodie influencer I follow was opening up a location in Mountain View! They have an underground parking garage right past the shop. It's easy to miss and the dip down is kinda steep. Take the stairs back up. I think there's also an elevator. The shop itself is so bright and cheery yellow with grassy green accents. Nice backdrop for drink photos. I got the Guava Matcha Latte with whole milk, less sweet, less ice. I should've gotten no added sugar! I'm used to getting 0-25% sweetness. However, it was so good I finished the whole thing when bestie and I sat to chat for maybe 20 min? She ordered her usual Strawberry Matcha Latte, no added sugar. I can't wait to come back and try the summer special golden peach matcha latte! They also offer: matcha cold brew, loose leaf tea, non-dairy slushes, slushes blended with vanilla cream, coffee drinks, and non-caff options like tropical refreshers and flavored milks (kid friendly). Toppings include: boba, almond jelly, lychee, chia seeds, aloe Alternative Milks: oat milk, organic coconut milk, organic soy milk for 75cents extra Staff was friendly and answered questions we had. read more
I first tried Junbi in Honolulu and instantly became a fan, so much so that I went back a couple more times before my vacation ended. When I heard they were opening a location in Mountain View, the closest one to me, I was thrilled. I hyped it up so much that I ended up bringing my cousins along. The entrance to the parking structure was a bit hard to spot, so we missed it and had to loop back around. It's one of those underground retail parking garages, which isn't the most convenient if you're just trying to make a quick stop for a drink. We each ordered different drinks to sample a variety. I stuck with my go-to, the strawberry matcha latte. Since the shop had just opened, I wasn't too bothered when the staff mixed up some orders and got confused about which drinks had been sent out and which were still missing (two of ours). Out of the 7 drinks we tried, I'd say three were good. The rest, including mine, were just okay, tasting more watered down than I remembered. It was disappointing, especially since I had hyped up the visit so much. And to mention, the drinks were on the pricier side, averaging about $7.50 each. I would like to come back again to give it another try though. read more
Ordered a mango matcha latte and it was just ok. Matcha had slightly watered down taste, and the mango chunks were not sweet at all. I was expecting them to have at least a little bit of sweetness since it is mango season but unfortunately was pretty disappointed by this drink. Store is clean and spacious. Drink was made quickly. Ordering is on kiosk so not much interaction with the employees. read more

Got a vanilla soft serve with the mango on top, it was really nice and refreshing on a super hot day read more
I first saw this matcha spot on Oahu. Pretty excited to have a spot in the Bay Area! There is parking under ground but the spots are super tight. It can be tricky because only some spots are for retail parking. I liked all the natural lightning in the shop. There's lots of seating. You can order in before or on the tablet. -strawberry matcha with lychee: 4/5, I got an extra shot of matcha and it was sooo good. I loved the strong matcha flavor with the sweetness of the lychee. It could be because of the extra shot but I couldn't really taste the strawberry too much. Nonetheless, the matcha flavor was top tier. It was strong and it wasn't watery. read more
Tried Junbi for the first time and got the matcha soft serve and a matcha latte. The cafe itself is new, clean, and has comfy seating - definitely a nice spot to hang out and chat. Parking is convenient with a garage right next door, and it wasn't packed when I visited. The drinks and soft serve were solid, though nothing really stood out compared to other matcha spots in the area. The soft serve came out a bit melty, but still good. Overall, a good casual stop for matcha, but not a must-visit if you've already been to other similar cafes. read more
Finally got to try Junbi! The place is super cute inside. Very vibrant! My boyfriend tried Junbi in Irvine earlier this year - he liked their Yuzu Dragonfruit so much, he got it again this time. With an extensive menu and for someone super indecisive like me, I finally settled on a peach cold brew from their Summer Series. Love the real pieces of peach! If you're stuck between lattes and cold brews - I'd get cold brew, but add a splash of milk to your drink for a more matcha forward flavor! read more
I liked the guava matcha flavor. My fiance and I separately ordered a guava/lychee matcha cold brew and a guava/lychee matcha latte during their BOGO on grand opening day. They accidentally charged me for the second drink, and I accidentally paid before telling them that. They adjusted it manually (told me there'd be a refund), but when I check the bank statement, I'm still charged for both drinks. I messaged them via Yelp message, and they're very responsive/ took care of it immediately though! The guava flavor paired perfectly with the matcha. It was my first time seeing these two flavors mixed so I was a bit scared at first. The cashier was helpful in letting me know their lattes can be on the sweeter side, so I adjusted the sugar level. The latte sweetness was perfect for me at less sugar; however, I wish I didn't adjust the cold brew sweetness because it wasn't necessary. I drank the latte on the day of and kept the cold brew for the next day. The drink was still good on day 2! I also tried a few sip of the lychee matcha, but I personally didn't like it that much despite me usually liking lychee drinks. I thought the guava one suited my tastebud better. read more
My coworkers and I wanted some drinks so we ordered online and went to go pick it up. Gotta say, their bags are nice because they have a lining that keeps the drinks still kinda cold for the ride. I got a guava matcha latte at less sweetness. At first, I thought it wasn't sweet enough because I only drank the matcha portion but once I mixed everything, it was maybe on the sweeter side. I really enjoyed that you can still taste the quality of matcha even if it is a little guava forward. Overall a very good drink that balances the different flavors very well. read more
I was visiting from Socal and was pleasantly surprised to come across Junbi in Norcal. The Junbi in Mountain View opened in June of this year and offers a variety of specialty drinks, desserts, and food items. The interior is aesthetic and a great spot to chill and study. I never ordered food from Junbi before and wanted to try their rice balls. I got their Mentaiko and Snow Crab Rice Balls, which were prepared by the staff on the spot. The rice balls are served in a wrap and come with the seaweed paper on the side, ensuring the seaweed doesn't get soggy. My favorite was the Snow Crab which was flavorful and savory; the slight spiciness of the Mentaiko was interesting but I preferred the Snow Crab more. I also ordered their soft serve, a mixture of their strong matcha balanced with the creamy vanilla flavor. A perfect dessert to cool down during the summer! read more
Finally it's here in the north bay! i came at the time when they did the muddy collab. not sure if it's still there, but it was delicious! it was perfect with the fresh lychee/litchi and matcha combination. the store is a bit tiny and limited in seating. it's bright colored and inviting. their wall with the merchandise was cute. but is it bit far of a drive? sorta, especially if you don't want to be stuck in traffic. how's the parking situation? there's a customer parking garage, but it's a bit narrow. it's downward drive and the parking spaces are a bit small. don't recommend coming with a big car. overall, i'd come back again! read more

Came here during their grand opening, when they did a BOGO deal. I decided to get a Guava Matcha Latte and a Strawberry Matcha Latte. I like that Junbi offers a twist on matcha drinks. I have not seen a Guava Matcha Latte anywhere else and was pleasantly surprised with it. It had a good balance of fruitiness without overpowering the matcha. Same with the Strawberry Matcha Latte. Prices are comparable to other matcha places. They only had a limited set of items on the menu for grand opening, but some of their other drinks seem quite adventurous - perhaps I'll try them next time I'm there. Ordering did feel a bit slow, especially on grand opening day, but drinks came out fairly fast. Perhaps they need a self service kiosk to speed up the process for busier days. read more

SO FREAKING EXCITED THAT THIS LOCATION IS OPEN. Tried it first in Hawaii and it so easily became a staple drink place. Their drinks are so yummy and refreshing and there's such a wide variety of choices. I love a matcha cold brew and they always do it right. I like how they have seasonal flavors, like right now they have a lychee sakura but the last time I visited a different location they had a banana flavor. Got the lychee sakura matcha cold brew which was a balance of a floral lychee flavor. The flavor was light as I always got less sweet. I appreciate that you can change the sweetness and ice levels. I've tried so many different drinks of theirs and I've never been disappointment. Even bought a tin of their ceremonial matcha for home. They have kiosk where you can order or you can order at the front with the cashier. The cashier who helped us was super nice, gave good recommendations, and was thorough when asking for our ice and sweetness levels. They have a couple of small tables inside to hang out and wait for drinks but probably not a good place for big groups to hang out inside of. Such a great matcha place, highly recommend! read more

Came here for their soft opening today! I was surprised to see it open already. I drove by this spot on my way to work early Sunday morning and didn't expect it to open that same day. My bf and I are big matcha lovers, so we were excited to hear another matcha spot opened up nearby. We came around 3:30, and there was no line, but a few minutes later, a crowd showed up out of nowhere. The interior is cute, modern, and minimalist, which I liked. If you're a Miffy fan, they have Junbi x Miffy merch too! There's also underground retail parking off San Antonio Rd and Miller Ave. I got the iced mango matcha latte with oat milk, less sweet. It had a good balance of matcha and mango bits. Not as strong as I usually like, but definitely not watered down. I'd give it an 8/10. I'll be back to try more drinks for sure! read more
Junbi made its way to the South Bay! I heard about Junbi's soft opening and I had time to kill so I decided to check it out. For those wondering about Junbi's soft opening hours, it is from 11:00 AM-5:00 PM. There is plenty of retail parking since it is located next to a garage. I went on Sunday, the first day of soft opening, and the line was not bad at all! There were probably at most 5-6 parties ahead of me, and the line went by relatively quickly. I think in total, I waited roughly 25 minutes (line wait + drink wait). The inside was a lot more spacious than I expected with about 5-6 tables to sit down and talk with friends/family. They were also selling Junbi x Miffy merchandise such as shirts, tote, whisks, etc. I ordered a Madagascar Vanilla Matcha Latte for myself and a Miffy Lychee Sakura Matcha Latte for my friend. I thought the vanilla overpowered my drink just a bit but I think it may be because I ordered with regular sweetness, I tried my friend's drink and it was the perfect amount of lychee, floral, and matcha taste and surprisingly, not as sweet as mine (her drink was also regular sweetness). I still enjoyed my drink at Junbi and would definitely go again to try a different drink! read more
I visited Junbi around 3 pm on a Saturday and it was pretty packed but my drinks came out relatively quick! Area is nice and walkable, and the Miffy collab is really cute! My partner and I tried the Matcha Cold Brew with cold foam and the Madagascar Vanilla Cold Brew. Unfortunately, I didn't like either of them. The Madagascar Vanilla had an artificial taste and a lingering bitter taste. With that said, I'd probably try a fruit drink next time or only visit for their merch. read more

Very exciting that Junbi now has a South Bay location! They have their soft opening this week but unfortunately no in store promos going on. The shop is cutely decorated and they offer some fun Miffy themed merch, like a t-shirt, tote bag, and cup. The menu is pretty extensive with primarily matcha based drinks. Staff is friendly and efficient, my drink came out within 2 minutes after ordering. I got the iced strawberry matcha latte with boba, lightly sweetened. It was tasty, the strawberry puree mixture was sweet enough to balanced out the matcha perfectly. The boba was on the softer side and could be a little more firm and chewy. The price was on the higher end side, over $8 with my added boba. They have free, underground parking that's easily accessible to the store. I can definitely see myself stopping by when I'm in the area and need a matcha fix! read more
first time to junbi, here in Northern California. I remember going to the Southern California one and there was like no parking. My girlfriend tried the rice wrap that they had and it was actually pretty good. The service was actually pretty good as well, they had a kiosk for ordering. When this Junbi opening was announced, I was so excited, I've had Junbi on the east coast and loved their matcha drinks. Unfortunately the drinks here were not the same and tasted very watered down. It's disappointing, but maybe they are still working out the kinks since they recently opened. read more

great spot to pick up a drink! love their guava matcha (got 50% last time but i think the guava flavor was sort of light, maybe better with more sugar if the amount is related to guava flavor?) also tried the galaxy blended drink (bt21 collab) which was sesame ube blended drink. if you like sesame this is a great option. the ube flavor was hard to taste but was a lovely drink (on the sweeter side) read more
I had been hankering to try this boba shop ever since word got out that they were coming to Mtn Vw. I decided to try one of their Spring Sakura Lychee drinks and settled on Matcha Latte version. IMHO, I was not totally impressed by it. The Matcha was too subtle for my tastes. The boba that cost extra did not have the texture that I like. And to top it off, it was a pretty expensive drink at $9.50! In hindsight, I should have judged these guys the way I usually do by ordering their Strawberry Matcha Latte. I will be giving them another "go" the next time I am around the area to either dine at Amici's or pick up pastries at C&W. read more
Stopped by the Junbi Matcha soft opening and I'm still so excited to have Junbi closer to the South Bay. The only other times I'd have Junbi is in Hawaii. I usually order a guava matcha latte but instead I ordered the matcha mango cold brew and was happy with the amount of matcha and mango flavor/chunks in this drink. I will say guava matcha latte is probably still my favorite so I'll have to come back for that. read more
I'm so excited that they opened a Junbi right in Mountain View! I've only had Junbi all the way down in Hawaii, and I've been wanting to try it again. The interior is really nice! Full of color and energy, as a lot of people have flocked to Junbi to try their matcha. I ordered the Guava Matcha Latte with less ice and sugar, and I really liked it! It was reminiscent of the one that I had back in Hawaii. I will say, as someone who regularly makes matcha at home, I didn't really like how sweet the matcha was, despite my request for less sugar. I also noticed that even for their matcha powder (which is pretty pricey), they have added sugar to it. I give it a 4/5. Despite the criticism, I will continue to come here regularly to try their other drinks and items. I'm so happy they have Junbi here now! read more

New boba shop in Mountain View! There is a parking garage here with free parking. I tried the cold brew matcha and added fresh milk, and boba. I made the drink less sweet. There was a little bit of sweetness from the boba but not much. And the less sweet didn't taste very sweet at all so I could try normal sweet next time. The drink was nice and smooth. I think the tea is prominent and might not be good to drink late if you are caffeine sensitive! There is a Miffy collab going on right now and they have some cute merch like a tote bag, pin, shirt, etc. I didn't buy any but I kind of was considering it since Miffy is pretty cute! read more
Came by during the Grand Opening and had a decent experience. We got scratchers, free stickers, a free photo-booth picture, and Junbi bag. Me and my girlfriend waited for 2 and a half hours to get into the store but at least our drinks came out quick. This spot has a unique concept specializing in matcha drinks with fruit flavors. Guava Matcha Latte (4.5/5): Probably the best drink out of all the ones I got. The guava flavor was super refreshing and paired well with the drink. I would say the matcha flavor isn't strong in this and you definitely taste more guava than matcha. Mango Matcha Latte (3.8/5): Solid drink but there were some things that could've been better. I think the mango is way too pulp-y and it was a mouthful every sip. Also, the mango overpowered the matcha a lot so I didn't taste any matcha at all with it. It still is a fresh and refreshing drink if you love mangoes. read more

I'd say a solid 3.5 for Junbi. My brother sent me a message about the upcoming Grand Opening, and I've been a matcha fan for a while, so I was excited to try the place. The owners seemed very friendly, walking up and down the line with their family, welcoming and thanking people for showing up and waiting (it was a long wait for the BOGO and scratch card). The employees did a great job with crowd control, limiting the number of people entering, and people waiting in line were pretty respectful as well. They also had a nice sticker machine, which I thought was a nice touch to the festivities. Atmosphere seemed clean, minimal, cute area and shelves with merchandise. I ended up ordering a guava matcha latte with coconut milk (last second decision, as they said it would be whole milk, and intrusive thoughts of GI distress entered my mind). That may have been my mistake, because the coconut milk did not have the heft, so the drink seem imbalanced. It was more like a fruit drink, with hints of matcha and a splash of coconut milk. I was expected more weight of the milk and a bolder matcha, with a touch of fruit. It wasn't bad, just not what I'm used to and prefer. It was also very sweet-- and I ordered 0 sweetness. There was something one-dimensional about it. Because it was so sweet and fruit forward, I added some lemon juice when I got home to dampen the sweetness and layer on some brightness to the drink. The lychee matcha cold brew was pretty refreshing and more of my jam. I could taste the matcha and appreciated the bits of lychee for texture. It was light, easy to drink, and didn't seem too heavy or watered down. Drinks are definitely on the pricier side, around $8 for a matcha latte. They will be serving a larger menu (limited for Grand Opening), hopefully adding on soft serve. I was lucky enough to score a free soft serve on the scratch card, so I'll be back for that and maybe I'll daringly try a matcha latte with whole milk. read more
I first had Junbi in Hawaii and really liked their drinks and I was so happy to hear that they opened a location here towards South Bay, been anticipating their opening for so long! Came here for their soft opening today. They're located downstairs of an apartment building and have parking in the lot underneath. The shop inside is so clean and aesthetic. There was a good amount of people but not too long of a wait. They only had one cashier today but looks like their self order kiosks will be up and ready soon! All the workers are so sweet and nice and offer good drink recommendations as well. I got their Strawberry Matcha Latte and it was super delicious. I love that they have soy milk, oatmilk and coconut milk options too. They're also selling Miffy x Junbi merch and I got a t shirt! Overall so happy they're here now and will be adding this to my weekly boba rotation when I'm in the area! read more
