I have been to TP Tea several times now. The following is what I have tried so far: Tie Guan Yin Tea Latte (5/5) - If you do not know what to get here, this is what you get. It has a nutty, roasted flavor profile. You can really taste the tea flavor. The only thing is that it is a little heavy on the creaminess sometimes. Mango Cheese Cream Foam (2/5) - I was able to take a sip of my friend's drink. Only one sip...because I did not like it. I like mango, but I really don't like drinks where I feel like I'm just sipping up pure mango puree. That's the case with this drink. If that's what you're into, then go for it. I just wish it was more milk based and creamy. Mango Tea Latte (5/5) - The TGY tea latte was originally my favorite, but this one has turned my head. I am a sucker for mango, and this drink is delicious! It has a nice sweet, creamy mango flavor. I usually get this with QQ noodle for a little something something to chew on. I have not tried the boba here because my friend was dead set on it not being good, so I will trust him on that...along with the rest of the Yelp reviews I've read about that haha. The QQ noodle is unique so I'd opt for that. Overall, it seems to be a great place for good milk tea. Definitely recommend it. read more

I love TP Tea! I fell in love years ago with their strawberry milk tea (smoothie texture) and tieguanyin milk tea with QQ noodles. My last recent visit fell short however, the strawberry milk tea had an off aftertaste and was not good. My friend tried the strawberry matcha milk tea and the matcha was very bitter tasting. I was really disappointed in the inconsistency. Service is always great here and the staff is super busy so I try to politely show my order number and thank them. I'm so happy that TP Tea has expanded so quickly over the last few years. Used to just be a long expected wait at Cupertino off Blaney, but this Sunnyvale one is a super convenient location to me with not too much foot traffic. It makes for a great post-grocery treat after Mega Mart down the street or a post-dinner dessert after Seapot or 10 Butchers. I recommend 50% sweet here for all drinks if not 25% as it leans a tad sweeter than Cupertino in my past 5 or so visits. The Strawberry Milk Tea's been my favorite but the Tie Guan Yin & other TGY variants have been my go-to order for the last year. Delicious, perfect quantity, and great toppings to drink ratio. Brown sugar boba pudding smoothie is perfect on a hot summer day. The toppings work well with the smoothie, there is even salted cheese on top. It is a unique and refreshing drink. But since it's getting warmer, we decided to try the lychee fresh milk - not sure if this is seasonal/temporary. Got it with 50% sugar and it was perfect! This is in a strip mall and the store is small with only a couple small tables inside. It's more for a grab-and-go place. When it gets busy, there is no room to stand around. It's more like a grab-and-go place. Came here during lunch after having ramen next door. It was craving for milk tea. I didn't know that they had this limited time flavor when I went on Snackpass app to order. I ordered their limited time, Brown Sugar Boba Milk Tea. With 80% sweetness and it's perfect with the brown sugar drip. I would say the sweet spot is 80%, I wouldn't go lower or higher on the sugar level. The Sum seating area if you wanted to hang out here, also some sitting outside. Parking is easy to find, there's a lot of parking during a weekday doing lunch. The service is very fast. I think they were busy with online order pick ups, because the Snackpass said it was going to take 20 minutes, but it actually took like five minutes. But then they changed their minds and said no, it wasn't premixed, they just can't do it. Odd answer as why can't you just not add milk? It's like asking for a shot of espresso without milk and having a coffee shop tell you they can't do that. Overall just an odd thing, but I ended up a black tea instead. The tea was fine. The grass jelly was silky and the boba was soft with a nice chew. The atmosphere is typical to that of a tea shop. You can definitely have a convo while chilling here. I'm not sure when they close, but my gf and I were catching up so we spent a good 2 hours here. They were refusing orders towards the end. Nice place I gave it three star because first online order are always complete first. Second, we were a walk In Customer, and I notice that we walking In order and was a low priority on their order. Wait over 20 minutes for our order for just two drinks.. I was watching them make the order and every time an online order came in, the order was done first. Happy anniversary to my favorite shop for milk tea in the Bay Area! They were holding a BOGO events and tote bags for the first 100 customer this weekend, and I went with my friend to celebrate :) The wait was a little long with the event, but the workers were so thoughtful to pass out small cold cups of their tea offerings while we waited in the sun. Tie Guan Yin cream cheese foam - wow the cream cheese foam is so delicious! It's thick and super cheesy/creamy. The tea comes through as you sip the foam top so you get a taste of both at the same time while you drink. It's the perfect consistency! Strawberry Matcha Latte - I didn't know that their matcha is also solid here, but this drink was also very good! I like to drink 15% sweetness here usually, but I opted for 0% because the strawberry puree is already sweetened, and I thought it was the perfect level of sweetness for me. In a plaza so there's plenty of parking. Ended up waiting 20 minutes for a drink and 2 snacks even when the store was almost empty. (There is a note that bubble waffles take 10 minutes). It was warm in the store so we opted to sit in their outside seating. Enjoyed the hot taro drink, would order again. I opted for 80% sweetness but it seemed pretty sweet so I would lower down to maybe 50% sweetness. I like that you can taste real taro. TGY FAMILY MILK TEA (80% sugar, no ice): The tea is good, and so are the toppings, but something about the coffee jelly and TGY tea together makes a strange smoky flavor that is a bit jarring. Still a good drink, just interesting. I'm a huge fan of TGY tea so wish there was more of that natural tea flavor. I will say that the small coffee jelly chunks are waaaay preferred over the large blobs some other boba shops serve that are harder to drink through the straw. I also tried the taro milk with boba, and it was delicious. Taro paste is real taro, and boba is perfectly chewy and awesome. One of my favorite chains in the Bay Area for sure, have zero complaints. Place was clean but small, still has some spots to sit. It was busy pretty much the entire time we were there, and we stayed until after closing and the staff didn't kick us out until they had to clean the area we were in. I've been telling myself I'd go to this TP Tea location since it opened, and I finally did recently. We got the Thai tea tornado and the pineapple tea. Both were pretty good! TP Tea does a very good milk tea. There was no wait when I came on a Monday afternoon. Even on a much busier Saturday night, I only waited a little over five minutes for my drink after I ordered. Taiwan Classic Milk Tea ($6.95, boba, QQ noodle, grass jelly already included) - This is a standard milk tea, maybe just a bit sweeter than average and comes pre-loaded with three topping favorites. QQ noodle is a clear, glass jelly noodle that is very chewy but easy to chew. Boba is more dense, slightly harder and chewier. Grass jelly is a light, slippery herbal jelly that is more subtle than bold and supposedly has antioxidant benefits. If you like all the toppings, then this drink is a steal because it's basically $1 more to get three toppings over the typical milk tea. The tea has a bold black tea flavor with a good balance of cream and sweetness. Tie Guan Ying Milk Tea ($5.95) - I haven't seen tie guan ying (it's a specific type of tea leaf) milk tea at many tea spots so I had to give this a try. It has a noticeable tie guan ying tea flavor mixed perfectly with cream and sugar. I liked this one too. I would recommend both of these milk teas equally, really it just depends on if you are craving tie guan ying flavor, then get that. If that difference doesn't matter so much to you and you just want any milk tea with lots of chew toppings, get the Taiwan Classic. As always, you can add various toppings a la carte to any drink. My favorite topping was the QQ noodle, as that is special to TP Tea. I get that full chew without my jaw having to work as hard as with standard boba. This location has a few seats, maybe about 10. Most people just drink their tea outside if they are with a group but inside, the seats arrangements are most accommodating if you just have two or three people. read more

TP Tea is an offshoot of Chun Shui Tang in Taiwan (the chain that stakes the claim as the inventor of bubble tea) and so naturally I had high expectations. Their menu is pretty extensive so I chose a pretty basic option -- tieguanyin fresh milk with boba. 30% sugar was more like 50% in other places, but they do offer 15%. I think this is probably one of the more satisfactory places for boba in the Bay Area, although I prefer the boba to be less soft. The tea taste was sufficiently strong even with the milk. read more

If you were to ask me what my favorite boba place is when I was in Texas/the Midwest, I would have 100% said TP Tea. TP Tea in the States tastes exactly the same as the locations in Taiwan, portraying the upkeep of their standards. However, in the Bay Area, I could not tell you where my favorite boba place is due to the number of stores and the varied uniqueness plus deliciousness--basically so much competition. I ORDERED: 1) tie guan yin oolong milk tea with boba, pudding, coffee jelly, $6.95 - tie guan yin is a tea so I have no idea why there's an "oolong" in the name and not in the other TGY options (but I was tempted to order this because I have yet to see this combo at other TP Tea locations) - I really dislike how they use coffee creamer powder but I guess that's the standard and what makes it extra creamy - boba always "qq" - lack of pudding! - coffee jelly tasted very strange (never had it before at TP Tea)... it did not taste like coffee at all, was super hard, and felt as if it was the entirety of the cup (as if no one orders this topping and they were trying to get rid of it...)... highly would NOT recommend AMBIENCE: - no sitting as they are under construction - looks like every other TP Tea locations - very tight knit interior aka very small SERVICE: - nonexistent - self service kiosks LOCATION and PARKING: - in a plaza with other eateries - lots of parking available (tight spaces) even when I went around 12pm aka lunch rush I love how TP Tea continues to pop up around the Bay, especially upholding their standards. We stopped by for the IG BOGO deal when they were promoting Orange Milk Tea and Orange Passion Fruit Tea with Crystal Boba from March 31- April 3, 2025. For the deal, you have to get the same drink with the same specifications (sweetness and ice level). We got two of the orange milk tea, but it's more like an orange milk tea smoothie. First time trying this location. To-go order: 1 classic milk tea (the option with no extras, e.g. boba) 15% sugar and less ice, 1 popcorn chicken. The classic milk tea with only 15% sugar still has a decent level of sweetness. I prefer more of a tea flavor (and am paying attention these days) and more of a cream flavor for the milk. (I will have to see which store or franchise is #1 for me on that score.) I ordered mild for the pocorn chicken and it was mild in taste, not too salty and the fried coating didn't have much flaavor which was noticeable after having samples popcorn chicken elsewhere. The chicken meat was tender and still juicy, and it wasn't overcooked. No strong frying oil flavor either. It's not what I am used to but based on the lack of negatives I would have to say it's one of the better ones in my experience. I will have to increase the spice level and see how that affects the overall taste. Service was fine; the workers were busy when I entered so no greeting but hopefully that is because they were doing something vital. Interior is nice and clean; a couple of tables inside and a couple outside. No restroom available for customers. When my family drank, all our mouths became bubbly and sudsy. I even brushed my teeth and rinsed my mouth multiple times, but my mouth is still bubbly.
