Updating this review as this has become a regular spot form me and my pup. The team is always friendly and welcomes you. In my book, that's a sign of a good work culture, and that comes from the top down. The employees don't always remember my name, but they do remember Bear and that's more important! The espresso remains the best and Sunnyvale. Perfect balance and acidity, with a side of sparkling water. Bear and I were sad when the pistachio croissants were no longer available, but as you can see in the video the Ube is literally mouth-watering and delicious! There are a couple tables outside in the shade, several small tables indoors, and a cute little park directly across the street with plenty of bench seating. read more

There's a kiosk to order but also staff available to take your order if it's complex, like me (: The interior is simplistic, warm and clean. I ordered a matcha latte, was pleasantly surprised they use ceremonial matcha. They made it equivalent to a matcha flat white, so I could have a higher concentration of matcha. Just what I like! Was running errands around this part of town from a trip back home and happen to come across here when browsing around during a car show. I haven't had coffee or food since yesterday dinner so I was famished. Sadly, having matcha or coffee suppressed my appetite more till i got dinner. I came across here after my trip to Whole Foods, I had wanted to come by a few months back when I was in the area and this place was lively during the car show that day. My wife went for a Lavender latte and I wanted something refreshing, so a Godzilla (Iced sparkling Matcha drink). Waited only about 2 minutes at most before our drinks were ready. Most of that 2 minutes was me admiring the espresso machine that they were using, it's high end Italian made and it's very durable. Maybe coming around when it's not busy, would be easier to hear when they call out your name, this place being small would echo everyone's conversations but, that's common for most cafes when they're busy. read more

Excellent coffee shop all around. Home has quickly become one of my regular weekend coffee spots. Favorite specialty drinks are the holy cow, hangover and Godzilla but any drip coffee or latte will do the trick because the coffee is just good. I regularly purchase their beans. Really pleasant place! Coffee is delicious. There isn't that much seating. Only 3 small tables indoors, and 2 tables outdoors. There's wifi which makes it a great spot to be productive! I ordered the birthday cake, which came out beautifully and it was delicious. My friend ordered the Condensed Milk latte which was also great. They have so many creative and odd flavors, so it was hard just choosing one but the staff was really patient and would give recommendations based on what I like so that was really great! I've been here twice now and both times have been amazing. Their pistachio berry croissant is to die for. I've never had anything quite like it, definitely get it toasted!! Skip the line and order on Toast. I stopped in for a hot Cookie Monster latte since that sounded unique. I got it with as is but the flavor of the cookie was pretty weak/non existent. I ordered a cortado, which was tasty, and it was served in the cutest glass cup. Overall, a great place to pick up some coffee. Prices seem fair and there are some seasonal drinks. It's more of a grab and go sort of place. Inside, there is only one table, so that's where we sat. The second we stood up to leave, two other people jumped at the chance to sit there. There are other benches and other stools, but they are not laid out in a way that makes it a good place to catch up with friends or to read/write by yourself. I used to go the location in SF all the time. The fact that they opened up one in the South Bay gave me all the nostalgia. Seeing their speciality drinks on the menu like red velvet and Cookie Monster reminded felt so familiar. I haven't had Home coffee in years so I was very excited. The service was quick and friendly. They have a few tables but it's relatively small compared to the one in the sunset. Good for catching up with friends or family but I'm not sure about studying/doing work here. I had an amazing experience here! The staff were so friendly and nice and patient as I decided what to order. The beans also are freshly roasted, so I had to get a bag. You get a free drip or cold brew with every bag, so that was a nice surprise! I tried the birthday cake latte with less sweetness, and it was perfect! Went during an afternoon of a Cityline Sunnyvale event, so maybe I came during a busy time. I ordered the Cookie Monster latte (with some adjustments in sweetness) to go and the overall aesthetic and design was really pretty. However, drinking it primarily tasted like warm milk. Was itching for a new coffee spot to try and ended up here! Came on a Saturday morning around 10:30 am and wasn't too busy. I was drawn by their unique latte options, especially the Cookie Monster as I saw that was a popular review on Yelp! This was such a cute drink since they topped it off with mini cookies. It wasn't too sweet and somehow tasted exactly like a cookie lol. I also got a matcha latte, added syrup and hazelnut. I've never had a hazelnut matcha latte but how they made it was 10/10!!! We love the San Francisco location and were excited to see them open up shop in the South Bay! But unfortunately our experience fell a bit short today. We ordered the coconut vanilla latte and the hazelnut latte. We've had the hazelnut latte before and it definitely seems their South Bay team is still trying to get it down. The lattes were bland & didn't have the same strong espresso presence. The space itself is small, with maybe 4 small chairs indoors. Same cute aesthetic as its SF location with pastel colors and minimal decor. There's a handful of tables outside, but it's not necessarily a space for working or lounging with friends (indoors). Stumbled on this spot walking back to the parking garage and was pleasantly surprised by how inviting it looked, so I had to pop in for a quick caffeine stop on my way out of downtown Sunnyvale. I didn't have time to explore the full menu, but I did notice they sell bags of coffee beans that are locally sourced from San Francisco roasters, and I love that when you buy a bag you get a complimentary drip or cold brew with it. I wish I'd had a few extra minutes to sit down and check out more of what they offer, because the space feels like the kind of place you could easily make a regular part of your downtown routine. For this visit, I just grabbed a cold brew, and it was smooth, refreshing, and exactly what I needed between errands. The cafe is in a super central part of downtown Sunnyvale with several parking garages close by, which makes it very convenient to swing through before or after appointments nearby. I had been looking forward to trying this coffee shop ever since I saw the "coming soon" sign on their door, so I brought my brother and husband to check it out. Unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to the anticipation. The wait was surprisingly long. They had a self-order register which I personally don't care for as slows things down when customers linger at the kiosk, and honestly, a cashier would make the process smoother and more efficient. I ordered an iced vanilla latte. While it wasn't bad, it didn't stand out. There was nothing memorable about the flavor, and the vanilla syrup didn't do much for me. My brother had the "Hangover" and said it was the worst carbonated coffee drink he's ever had. My husband got the "Holy Cow" and had the same views as myself; underwhelming. I thought this place was just ok. It's an awesome looking coffee shop with that modern touch. It's a small shop which only provides the grab n' go experience. They have regular drip coffees to specialty drinks in which I hear their coconut vanilla and Ube flavored drinks are popular. I just wanted to try their regular medium-roast drip which was pretty good. There is nothing too special about this; just a regular all black drip for about $4.50. I would like to come in and try more drinks, but the problem is, their hours are really short. They close @ 4pm! I wish their hours stretched longer. Happy to see Home Coffee Roasters expanding!! They are one of my favorite coffee shops from when I lived in San Francisco. Sunnyvale is still a bit of a ways from me.. but it's a LOT closer to me now. Excited to visit this cafe more often. Especially for catching up with friends. I love the unique latte options. The most recent one I tried was the birthday latte. I loved the colorful design they put on top and it was served at a good temperature. It wasn't piping hot but it was pretty warm. I did wait a few minutes before drinking it because I get scared.. but overall I liked the latte. It wasn't too sweet either, which I liked a lot. I am so pleased with their Coke special drink! Forgot what it's called. It has Coke, espresso, vanilla ice cream, and typically extra sugar but I asked for it without and it was perfect. The ice creams melts a little bit and it becomes a cream soda with a slight coffee kick. Super special and I've never had anything like it. It is a little pricey but it's a nice coffee shop. Lots of free parking in garages nearby. Only a little bit a seating, definitely not suitable to camp out and do work at. read more

They do have a couple of side tables, but it looked awkward for people trying to eat. There's several seats outside with real tables, but on a Sunday morning, they were all full. I ordered an iced lavender latte and ended up waiting about 15 minutes for my order. There were three people behind the counter working on orders, but everything seemed pretty slow. The coffee itself tasted only of milk and a bit of lavender. I couldn't get any coffee flavor and it was a bummer. For $7, I def don't think it was worth it. The line wasn't that long when I went on a Sunday morning (9am ish). I had forgotten that I've already tried home coffee roasters until I pulled up my review histories, and I was surprised to find out that I had bookmarked this place as a "would recommend going in SF". I remember wanting to try their toffee crunch latte at their SF location, but unfortunately, it might've been a seasonable special, because they don't have that here. I ended up going with the Red Velvet Latte. It wasn't too sweet, the coffee was smooth, and they stayed true to the light ice request. I still remember how popular Home Coffee Roasters was years ago in SF so excited to try it again down here in South Bay!! Located in downtown Sunnyvale right next to Target and Teazzi so parking is pretty easy with the lots nearby. The place had cute decor but quite small with a few small tables/chairs but you can also take your coffee to the middle section of downtown sunnyvale where there are more benches. They sell merch and also their own coffee beans. They have some pastries and a lot of latte options. I got the iced salted caramel latte less sweet and it was pretty milk heavy/watered down and barely any salted caramel flavor. Wasn't impressed but maybe they're more known for their hot lattes/latte art. Parking is easy to find, there are garages nearby and this place is less than 5 minutes walk away from it. If you want a place to sit and work, you could walk over to Whole Foods cafe! There was only one group in front of us, and I'd say drinks came out around 10 mins. Wait is longer than most places, but for their espresso lattes, they're worth it. I got the vanilla latte with full sweetness, and it was so good! The flavor was strong and sweetness was light, didn't overpower the drink. My boyfriend got a lavendar latte, sprinkled with lavendar buds, and it was floral but strong coffee taste. I do wanna try their matcha in the future. My friend and I were looking forward to trying this spot when we saw it was coming soon. We work in the area and are always looking for a good drink spot to walk to during our lunch. When we went, there was 2 people in front of us ordering and about 4 people waiting on their orders. The space is kept up well and is located in a really nice area, but on the smaller side. So, if you're looking for a spot to sit, space is very limited. The staff is super nice and I appreciated the conversation and interest one of them showed in learning more about my work. With all of that said, I don't think I'll be returning back to spot for their drinks. Everything we ordered was more milk than coffee/matcha flavor. I'm not sure if it's the ratio they use or the quality of the products they use, but we were a little disappointed for the price we paid. I'm a big fan of Home in SF but after I heard there was one opening in Sunnyvale.. I RAN. Home Coffee Roasters is located in downtown Sunnyvale in a newly developed shopping plaza. This plaza is beautiful with its outdoor walk ways and small parks nestled in between the apartments and storefronts. You can order via kiosk or online on their website. Our two drinks took about 25 minutes which is pretty disappointing. Perhaps things will improve as they figure their system out. Hazelnut latte - I have not had such a mediocre cup of coffee in a long time. This excuse for a latte was so milk forward, with just the slightest hint of coffee flavor. Are the ratios off or are the beans just not very strong? The latte art was nice but didn't mean much if the drink itself was not good. Holy cow - The condensed milk added a nice milky sweet finish to each sip. The coffee itself was weak and barely present. I did like the holy cow better than the hazelnut latte though. I'm not sure if I would return to this location, especially if the coffee quality doesn't improve. Theres a Starbucks right upstairs from Home so it seems like Starbies might be winning this race right now. Service is slow and the drinks are quite average especially with a $7.50 price tag. read more

While I was ordering a barista came to check in if I needed help. I like that they have self-serve and a cashier to take orders. Since it was my first time I wanted to see the description of the drinks so I opted for self serve. I do prefer ordering with a person but really whatever is fastest is what I go for.
