I was looking for a building with the Sana'a cafe logo but passed it until I made a u-turn and just decided to park to look for it. Sana'a cafe is inside Mediterranean Grill restaurant. I saw the big signs that they were serving Sana'a coffee here. Someone was ordering before me and once it was my turn I was greeted warmly. I ordered the Sana'a light sweet whole milk. I took a seat and waited for my order. My order was ready pretty quickly and I took a big sip. Hold strong flavors of cinnamon, ginger, and cardamom. A strong coffee flavor as well. The cafe is located within the restaurant. The staff were very friendly, attentive, and helpful with selecting drinks. One of the staff even came around giving out free honeycomb bakery samples. There was plenty of parking around the store and there was also outdoor seating. I got the iced Adeni Chai and hot Mofawar coffee. As someone who doesn't like too sweet, I would recommend getting less sugar added. The Adeni chai was not the best Adeni chai I've tasted, but it still hit the spot! The Mofawar was good! The adeni chai was so good with fragrant flavors and came out in a cute kettle and adorable tea cups. My mom enjoyed her rose latte, and my friend enjoyed her pistachio latte. I had sips of both, and these drinks were quite good as well. The staff were nice, accommodating, and welcoming. Sana'a Cafe has an elegant interior that is beautiful when you walk inside. Wanted to try it so badly as I am a major fan of the Turkish and Yemeni coffee shops and try to visit them all over the Bay Area as they have been popping up over the past few years. This one didn't quite hit the mark. The pistachio milk cake was on the dry side, and lacked flavor. The coffee was ok, and the atmosphere is a bit confusing as it is a fast food Mediterranean and Sana's Cafe houses in the same space! Hot Cinnamon latte - was good but had some unmixed cinnamon at the bottom Sananni - this one was also really good as well if you like the mofuwar but without the creaminess from the milk Ice mofuwar- 5/5, a very spiced and chocolate notes, most seasoned my fav I also got a kebab plate from the grill house. This coffee stand is in a super cute downtown area of Mountain View! Parking is a bit scary with having to pull out/pull in while ongoing traffic is behind you but I've never struggled to find parking. I got the drink special recommended to me by the workers which was the Sana'a Latte. All drinks have the option to come iced or hot and they are paired with a small middle eastern cafe. Perfect to have a coffee and a meal! The beans were strong but not burnt and I loved the taste! They offered huge variety of latte flavors and syrups and many were unique. While seating inside/outside seems to be a bit limited I have also never seen all seats occupied. This is a concept Café that has sprung to life inside of an actual cafe, the Mediterranean Grill. In fact the space that Sanaa is in has actually been established for a number of years. It's only recently, like last year or so, when Yemen coffee offerings have been put up as a new aspect of the eatery. Tried a small pot of their name-sake coffee, listed as serving for one or two people, and it was more than enough. I've actually never tried Yemen's style of coffee so I did not know what to expect, but it definitely tasted different than your average latte. Cardamom adds a distinct flavour -- slightly perfume-y, interesting and different. Also my friend and I opted for a square of pistachio milk cake (among several cakes displayed behind the case), and that was nice, sweet and milky not heavy. Cake was definitely the correct colour although could have used a scosche bolder stronger pistachio flava. Good with the coffee. Lovely decorative yet practical and comfy seating and tables abound, perhaps to highlight a Mediterranean menu. The aesthetics of the Yemeni tea/coffee pot set with golden encasing porcelain cups are outstanding. Plus one star for the beverage services lovely presentation and nice seating. The coffee circle is now complete with this new shop moving in. Famous for their Turkish style coffee and pastries, I knew this was going to be good. Of course the Turkish coffee set up was at the top of the list and to go along with it was one of their delicious pastries. Ok, I'm kind of a pistachio lover so the pistachio cake was kinda lacking in that department but it was still good. Now what I expected from the Turkish coffee is was what I got. The blend was a medium roast that was smooth and a little bold at the same time and it definitely hit the spot. The set up it came in was what I was expecting. Recently went to Egypt and got introduced to cardamom Turkish coffee. I can definitely attest that the coffee here tastes as similar and will be go-to spot for cardamom Turkish coffee! Pretty busy on a Sunday afternoon. Indoor and outdoor seating both available. We got the iced Yemeni latte, iced Adeni Chai, and pistachio milk cake. The drinks were pretty good, but they weren't the star of the show for me. They asked if I wanted honey and sugar in the iced Yemeni latte and I said yes. The honey was mostly clumped at the bottom so I'd only get bits of it here and there. The pistachio milk cake was great though! It wasn't overly sweet and was super moist and milky. Loved it! Dropped in for a coffee break. My last run was the Bakersfield Yemeni coffee place and I was craving some coffee. The ambiance is great. Open and airy with appropriate geometrical flourishes. This is a nice little cafe located within the Mediterranean grill house restaurant. We got a pot of the Adeni chai (Yemeni black tea) which was served in a very cute tea set. We also got a zattar cheese bread and an almond Turkish delight to go with it. The treats were very good, I also loved the zattar bread and the tea was delicious as well. I've been to Delah coffee and Qamaria coffee and none have a fully stocked pastry case like this place. The fact that they still kept their restaurant dine-in menu with everything else including this new coffee shop is genius and automatically boosts this Yemeni coffee shop to the top of my list. I ordered a small pot of Adeni chai tea with a falafel wrap. The falafel wrap resembled a burrito.. literally. It's not your typical pita bread; it's a tortilla which does pair well with the falafel, lettuce and tomato. Food and drink came out within 15 mins which was nice. I probably should've asked for some hot sauce with my wrap though since it needed some more flavor and a kick. Had a chance to visit Sana'a Cafe while visiting a friend and this was a really nice experience! I have not been to a Yemeni coffee shop before and this was a first time experience which I loved. This is a cute spot in Mountain View downtown and thankfully I was able to get some street parking close by. For my order I got: * Pistachio Latte - this was good, but I didnt realize that the Pistachio butter thing was most clumped to the bottom. For those who have not tried this, make sure to mix if you want to get more of the flavor! I did not get it until I had mostly drank through my drink *Rose Milk Cake - this was absolutely soft, moist, and delicious. I loved every bite and I can't wait to go back and try some of the other milk cakes (they had biscoff, salted caramel, pistachio and saffron as well) * Beef Pastry - there was only one, but I would say this was okay. Came here for a bit and chai with a friend and I loved the Adeni Chai (Yemeni tea). You can adjust the sugar level to your liking and I asked for a less sweet which turned out to be perfect. The tea is fragrant and strong which I loved. We shared the rose milk cake and ground beef pie. Both were pretty good but for a treat, I'd definitely recommend the cake over the beef pastry as it was more unique. The cake is soaked in milk similar to tres leches which made it super moist and light. It was pretty sweet but one slice is more than enough to share between 2 people. read more

Another Yemeni business in this area. The Malawah bar just in Palo Alto crept up last year and now Sana'a Cafe is soft open now in downtown MV. Doing errands and needing a pick me up I asked what I should have and the employee proudly proclaimed the Yemeni Chai. so that's what I got. Fragrant tea with a bit of milk, no sugar. Very solid choice. Now they are super soft open as paint is still being applied and some of their signage is not even up. It's actually in the back of the restaurant Med Grill which I believe supplies the savory food but not sure. Looking forward to trying more things as they getmselves situated. read more

Second time coming here and I got the iced adeni chain with less sweet. It was just the right amount of sugar and I got to taste the spices. I also bought a Dubai Chocolate Bar that was $20 but it was so yummy. They have another one that's 12-13. I came here the first time in the photo attached with my friend and we got the small set. It is cute and cozy! I tried the Chicken Curry plate- and honestly the smell was so good, my mouth was watering to the point of drooling before I got back to my seat. The gravy for the curry was absolutely delicious, and thick, creamy, and perfectly spiced. The rice, was also fragrant, light, fluffy, and perfectly cooked to that amazing texture basmati rice is known to have. The whole place works like most counter oriented establishments. Cute spot that opened up in Mountain View with a cafe and a small fast casual restaurant together in the same spot. The decor is modern but true to their cultural roots. I ordered the ice mofawar with light sugar and a bar of DUBAI CHOCOLATE. I've been scouring the Bay Area to try this viral chocolate out and thought it was funny how I'd stumbled upon it. Law of attraction and all. The Dubai chocolate is a bit pricey at $14 but for the price of satiating my curiosity it was worth it. The chocolate itself is creamy, sweet but not too sweet, with a delightful delicate crunch to it not unlike a KitKat bar but better. It doesn't have that overly saccharine flavor that KitKats do so I find myself grabbing for piece after piece. The mofawar latte was interesting. The cardamom flavor is very very strong. Because I ordered it with minimal sugar, they really put minimal sugar which I appreciate. But the cardamom flavor did make me think it was a savory drink for a moment. The coffee flavor is also quite strong and bitter even with the cream. It's a well made drink, it's just not my favorite but I think it's just something I'm not used to yet and I'd love to try some of their other drinks next time. Very delicious coffee from a business that is looking to please their customers! There are lots of items on the menu to pick from so I'd recommend taking a while to read what they have and asking questions about the different types of coffee if its your first time. Don't be surprised if it takes more than a few minutes to make the drinks, that's 100% normal. The staff were all very friendly, there's no loud music being played so it's easy to have a conversation with your friends.
