The service was slow. The workers didn't have any expression in their face. No smile. The ambiance was ok but didn't looklike the breakfast place! So, don't except an american style breakfast! It's more looklike a coffee shop and its inside Shashi hotel!

Very cute cafe. It is attached to the hotel, and you can sit and work in the hotel lobby. They even bring your order to you there. Great place to hang out or do some work. I ordered the ube latte and it tasted great. My friends ordered pastries as well and they loved it!

Was excited when this place opened up and was looking forward to a new pastry place with some good coffee but their selection wasn't as wide as I had hoped and it looks like they get their food from other place? Maybe next door? I picked up a cinnamon roll, which felt store bought. It was dry and tasted okay but for $7, no thank you. The coffee was interesting, this was my first time seeing an automated pour over setup and thought it was cool. I picked a Costa Rican coffee and it had a nice fruity flavor. The machine really did a good job but you get a 9 oz coffee for $8 or $9. I don't know if it's really worth it. I can pickup a pour over from Castro Street that's just as good, have a person doing the pour over, for less, and get more. I'm hoping they take this feedback and look at pricing as well as quality of their baked goods. There are much better quality bakeries on Castro for less.

Cute! 3.5 stars. Love the aesthetics of the dining area. It's part of the Shashi Hotel (an urban resort) in Mountain View. This place may seem like an overpriced cafe for the type of food served, but keep in mind this quaint cafe is near Google and the Computer History Museum. Being the young engineer who works for nearby tech companies, the clientele here can afford "overpriced". The good: if you are trying to get away from the hustle and bustle of Silicon Valley life and the 12-14 hours you put into work at the office every day, then this is a nice getaway for a relaxing breakfast in an upscale setting. Better ambiance in the dining or patio area, which is accessible to cafe patrons. The menu may seem simple but I come for the entire experience. Sit by the fireplace and enjoy a quiet and meditative meal to start your day.

Came here to get coffee with friends and some work done. I was surprised to find that the coffee shop is part of a hotel but it wasn't particularly busy when we went on a weekday morning. There's plenty of seating and charging stations so it's a great place to get work done. The place is very nicely decorated and very modern. They offer coffee, tea, and pastries. I went with a drip coffee which was very nice and went well with my seasonal pear tart. I'm told the Ube latte here was very tasty. Service was great and they bring your items to you once you find seating. They gave free Wi-Fi, just ask. There's plenty of free street parking.

This place has good food and is close by so I frequent often. The prices are high which is to be expected in this area. However I think the cleanliness can be improved. Half the staff was standing around chatting about their weekend plans while all the tables were covered in crumbs and spilled coffee. The straw, lid area was just a mess and in the half hour I spent there having my coffee it never got wiped up. If prices are this high at least have a staff that keeps the area clean and doesn't look at you like, ugh, another customer. Music is good!

Yummy but cold and hard when not warmed up

Very cute place, been there multiple times since I stayed at the shashi hotel. The ladies working there look miserable which is a bummer to see first thing in the morning. The coffee is yummy and well made but some of the food is odd. Had the worst Caesar salad in my life, I feel like its hard to make Caesar salad bad. Chocolate muffin is very yummy but tastes ok at best when not heated up. I would only go again if I had to stay at the hotel, other than that, i'd rather find a more comfy coffee shop with more cheerful staff.

Front counter - The image shows a cafe front counter with a large menu board displaying various coffee, tea, and food options. There is a professional espresso machine, coffee beans, and other equipment on the counter. To the right, a display case contains baked goods, and large windows behind the counter let in natural light. The interior has a modern design with a clean, minimal aesthetic.

I ordered an apple croissant, banana chocolate croissant, kouign-amann, baguette sandwich, and an iced mocha. It took a while for my breakfast to arrive. The iced mocha was warm because the ice had melted, but it was easy enough to fix with ice from my freezer. I'm pretty sure it had no coffee in it, just oat milk and hazelnut dark chocolate, which was perfect in my book. I drank it fast. It was my first time trying a kouign-amann, and I'm still not sure what all the fuss is about. After a couple of bites I moved on to the apple croissant, which had almond cream and a cinnamon apple compote in it. It was delicious, and I loved that it wasn't overly sweet. Next was the banana chocolate croissant. I was disappointed when I cut it in half and saw how little chocolate there was inside of it, but once I tasted it I realized it was just right. The bananas and almond cream were very, very sweet. It was scrumptious with powdered sugar and sliced almonds on top. Later in the day I tried the baguette sandwich, which had Brie, sliced apples, jambon, arugula, mustard, and garlic aioli on it. It was good at first, but then I had to remove the Brie because it overwhelmed the rest of the sandwich. The apple tasted great, but I pretty much love anything with apples on it. All in all it was an interesting breakfast and I'd gladly return to try more of their sandwiches and desserts.

Once you step inside it feels like you're transported to a cute little Parisian patisserie. The interior is elegant and relaxing and the staff are friendly. We ordered the Fleur de Pistache and a mango pastry which I believe is called a Mango croissant but I honestly forgot (it may also be seasonal). Beautiful presentation so 10/10 for that. As for flavor the Fleur de Pistache was good - texture was great but I do wish it had a heavier pistachio flavor. The Mango croissant was crispy and fresh. Both items weren't overly sweet which is what I look for in pastries/desserts so I appreciate that. I didn't get a coffee this time around so I can't speak on that, but I'll be back again to try the coffee and their other pastries. Overall, it was a great experience and worth the visit!

The staff were friendly, and the store is pristine and cozy. There is street parking in front and ample parking lots in short walking distance of State St. I'm more of a savory person so I thoroughly enjoyed the giant slice of Potato Leek & Truffle Gouda Quiche and coffee to go. There are a lot of sweet options too and I love the variety and ingredients they use in them. Just keep in mind that they don't warm up the food items here (and I recommend eating the quiche warm)! This is a perfect spot to grab a quick drink and bite to enjoy outside or at your next destination. I love that everything is fresh and when they run out, they run out!
