Food and coffee are good. Very close to most places on campus and convenient location.

Coupa is fine for lattes and specialty drinks but the cold brew and americanos are bitter and unpleasant. There are better campus alternatives to those drinks at Voyageur coffee and Cafe Buttery. I'm also not thrilled Coupa charges extra for "alternative" milks when certain ones like oat and almond are now mainstream and many other coffee shops don't charge for this. Much less changing for a "splash" of these milks--talk about being nickeled and dimed! read more

Did a bike charity event at Stanford on a Sunday and this was the closet place to get a bite. Friendly people and they do refill water, but you need to bring your own water bottle ( which I didn't). There's no indoor seating just all outdoors. I got a asada breakfast wrap since they were out of croissants and it was ok. Seemed a bit small for $10, but it did come with fruit. Stopped by on a lovely Sunday afternoon to try their smoothies! We got the matcha smoothie, coupa smoothie, and mango smoothie. The matcha smoothie was really creamy and had a decent amount of matcha flavor. The coupa smoothie was very berry and the mango smoothie was very mango. They were both a bit too sweet but I believe you can order it with no added sugar. The matcha was definitely my favorite because it was not too sweet. Also, the matcha and mango smoothies were already prepared so it was super fast service. They had a lot of seating outside. read more

The cafe is a cute place to get some work done, the coffee comes out pretty quickly. It's usually not too busy 930-11, lots of small desks and tables to get comfy and in the zone. They also have a nice outdoor seating situation too. They have the option of ordering via QR code to table or from the baristas. I was craving something refreshing and the barista recommended the strawberry smoothing and mango smoothie. I got both to share with my friend and they were both amazing! The mango smoothie was much sweeter and liquid while the strawberry was less flavorful and creamier. I love the vibes of everyone enjoying their food and drinks in the outdoor seating area and it's really clean and organized. This cafe is popular so I waited in a 10 person line but it went fast as the service is very efficient and friendly. I didn't order the food but the crepes and sandwiches looked great! read more

Order breakfast wrap, breakfast taco, and matcha oat milk latte, and a few cups of water. The breakfast wrap is far more superior than the breakfast taco. The filling seemed the same between the two, but the wrap was tasted on the outside with melted cheese inside, which elevated the item. The matcha oat latte was better than I was expecting. Now the main issue is with the cups of water. One of the cups I asked for ice, and I saw black things floating in the cup of water with ice compared to the other cups with no ice. The ice machine is most likely moldy. AVOID ANY ICE IN YOUR DRINKS. Also each cup of water is $0.25. Lots of outdoor seating, and pet friendly. Public restrooms are not on site and have to go searching for it. No parking directly on site- have to park somewhere along campus then walk to the cafe read more

Nice cafe near the Green library. There are lots of options of food and drinks at reasonable prices. I got the beef and plantains arepa and it was ok, but my friend's pesto chicken crepe was very yummy. read more

My favorite coffee place at Stanford University. This is where the best coffee is made and I look forward to it when my office takes a walk or is doing some catering from it. They also have some really great salads and sandwiches that are easy to treat yourself with when on the go. It can get busy but the line moves pretty quick and you can usually find a place to sit around the Green Library area. It's a Stanford legend! read more

Love this place! It gets busier during the academic year. But it's a terrific patio outside Stanford's main library - and they have so many choices, from eggs, to crêpes, to salads and arepas. I had several meals here: 1. Cami's Arepa: an arepa with avocado, white cheese, and a lovely little salad on the side. Very tasty! 2. breakfast crepe without bacon: very good too, but also super carb-y. It's not a buckwheat crepe, and there was a ton of it and less of the other stuff. I would skip this for other things in the future. 3. La Luna Arepa: vegan, with black beans and tofu. Yummy, similar in quality to Cami's Arepa. Would get this again. 4. Breakfast wrap (no bacon). This was very hearty and another great egg, avocado, carb sandwich. I'd get this over the crepe again. My lattes were delicious too. They charge $.25 for a cup of water but I'm not mad at them. They also have a great online ordering system, so you can preorder online and then just pop up and pick up your food. Love this place! And in the Summer, it's one of the only places on campus open for food. read more

Ahh the memories from here! All the friend catch ups, bike rides along and stops here at the outdoor tables in the sun! And it wasn't just the ambiance, friends, central location of the place that was the HUGEE draw - it was also the super delicious Tiger Spice Chai Lattes here :) At the reunion this fall I tried the Elephant chat latte which was awesome too, super sweet with its distinct flavor, and was super happy to see that the menu of chai lattes hasn't changed :) read more

Came here on a weekend to meet with old college friends. We ordered coffee and a meal and sat at the table nearby. I got one of the Chais (the first Chai on the menu) and liked it as always. Beef arepa was new to me, and I think it's pretty decent. I like how the shop is now decorated with Christmas ornaments, and it feels really good to sit and chat casually with good food/coffee/tea and friends as company! read more

I took a class at Stanford this summer and would grab lunch at Coupa. I tried a few of their sandwiches, and I must say, Coupa is always great. The service is fast, and the prices are comparable to other cafes in the area. If I ever find myself on the beautiful Stanford campus again and need a quick lunch, Coupa is a mainstay. read more

Cute little outside restaurant on Stanford's campus. Stopped by on a short walk and I loved all the options! Even better is that they offer milk alternatives to their drinks. Decided on the turkey panini and a Coupa smoothie. The smoothie was soo good and perfect as I waited for my food to be done. The panini was good as well. Liked that a little salad came with it with the addition of salad dressing. The abundance of avocado on my panini was love! I was full after one half & had to save the rest for later. When I was in undergrad (2001-2005), this coffee spot was run by a place called "Moonbeans." The coffee was barely drinkable, expensive, and the food options were largely limited to stale bagels. Coupa is a huge step up - the coffee is quite good, and the food options are greatly expanded. I'm not a huge fan of their tacos (which cost 3x as much as a taco in nearby RWC or EPA and are not particularly flavorful), but their pastries are great and they have a variety of fresh foods and smoothies that make them one of the tastier spots on campus to eat. Their smoothies are particularly good - the matcha smoothie is my favorite: creamy from almond milk, great matcha flavor, and not too sweet. Coupa's spicy hot chocolate and spicy mochas are the best versions of the form I have found anywhere, a nod to their flagship store's dual role as a chocolatier. Their app ordering system is a little buggy but largely genius. I love being able to submit and pay for my order from my office and pick it up in half the time it takes to wait in line. They also periodically have deals and incentives (like a free drink on your birthday, reward points, etc). The folks who work here are awesome. All in all, the best food and drink in the area is off campus, but Coupa has been a great addition to the Stanford scene. read more

I was tipped off by a friend to come here and try out their Green Matcha Smoothie, and I have to say... It was one of the best smoothies I've ever had. First off, it's not too sweet (ahem, Jamba Juice listen up). The matcha flavor is balanced out by the light almond and mango flavor really well. Best of all, it's got spinach, so it's totally healthy right?? To top it all off, on a bright summer afternoon, you can sit around the cafe catching a light breeze, enjoying the view of the library, and imagining what it would be like to be smart enough to go to Stanford. They charge for hot water even if you bring your own cup/thermos. D: I understand if they charge for hot water and they give you a paper cup, but I brought my own container! :( Outdoor seating only. Outdoor cafe on Stanford campus. They only have outside seating. The menu features coffee drinks, bottled drinks, desserts, breakfast sandwiches, crepes, and sandwiches. Order at the counter and wait for your name to be called. The food takes a long time! I would recommend ordering online from their website. I had a pesto crepe. It was mediocre at best. The crepe was bland and way too thick. The chicken was bland and the pesto was not fresh. The crepe didn't come with any salad. I would try the Stanford Bookstore cafe for a better selection of coffee and espresso drinks, as well as better service. The Treesider parking lot is the closest public parking lot I know of. read more

Today was my first time here and I got a mango strawberry smoothie and it was excellent. Not too sweet and had good texture and consistency. This place is quite popular on campus and in a great central location. The service was also excellent and very friendly. I will try to come back more often as their coffee drinks looked yummy too. read more

My friend brought us here for lunch at around 2pm on a Thursday afternoon, after a tour around campus, and it was PACKED. That's how popular this on-campus cafe is! As soon as I looked at the menu, I was immediately impressed by the variety of dishes they offered - 10 or so different salads, 10 different types of panini, assorted breakfast items , and a solid drinks menu. We ordered two panini -- the Mediterranean chicken panini (US$8.95) and the Wild smoked salmon panini (US$8.95) -- and two salads -- the Nicoise (US$8.95) and the Cobb (US$8.95). For the amount of food - the size and serving of the panini and salads, the price point is an absolute steal! If compared to Hong Kong, a salad of that same size would cost twice as much... I would have given them a full 5 stars, but will deduct one star to 4 stars due to the extremely long wait time for food preparation - at least 20 minutes! While waiting, and at my friend's urging, I ordered an Elephant Vanilla chai latte. I have a love-hate relationship with chai, and it honestly depends on how it's made and how much chai spices are used. Use too much and it becomes overpowering to the point that it can give me a headache. Too little and you wonder if it's really a chai latte after all. Surprisingly, it only took the barista 5 minutes to make the iced drink and it was lip-smackingly perfect. I nearly wanted another one before leaving Stanford. The Cobb salad, oh my god, I still dream about it to this very day. My mom still raves about it to this day. I think it's hands down, THE BEST Cobb salad I've ever had in my lifetime. The greens were just crisp and fresh, and well-tossed in the ranch dressing - not completely drenched in dressing nor skimped out, just right. The Nicoise salad paled in comparison the Cobb salad, but it was still an excellent salad nevertheless! You can't go wrong with feta cheese, which was generously sprinkled on top. Mo' feta, mo' betta! I have yet to return (at a non-peak hour) for their Tiger Spice Chai Latte, Americano, and other delicious treats! Coupa is probably one of the best eateries on Stanford's campus, but for some reason I don't go there as much as I should! The food is really good quality, and the atmosphere of this location is awesome when it's a nice day out. For lunch, I really like both their paninis and their crepes. My favorite option is the Betabel panini, which has beets, avocado, queso fresco, spinach and pesto. It's so delicious, and a nice change from a typical vegetarian panini. It used to be called the Vegetarian Heaven, and I almost had a panic attack when they changed their menu and I thought they didn't serve it anymore. But all is well. Unfortunately they now force you to have a side salad with your panini (and therefore charge more), instead of just giving you the option to add it on. The staff at this Coupa is also very nice, and remember your name if you're a regular. That's not me quite yet, but it's good to have goals. read more

My second time here and I ordered almost the same thing... 1/2 panini, 1/2 salad for $5. First time it was a Norwegian smoked salmon panini (thin slices of smoked salmon, mixed lettuce & chives) with a mesclun salad. This time it was a Mediterranean (chicken breast, fresh mozzarella, mixed greens, sun-dried tomatoes, pesto and lemon vinaigrette) with caesar salad. Both times, the ingredients were fresh, high quality and presented nicely. The flavors were amazing, in generous portions! Such a great value for $5 :) Their menu is extensive - in addition to paninis and salads, they have breakfast (pastries, waffles, pancakes), crepes (savory & sweet), soups, quesadillas and wraps.I've only had the house coffee which was dark & strong. The outdoor dining area is usually pretty crowded, but you can find a spot anywhere between the libraries and have a picnic :) I can't wait to try more from their menu! read more

Removing one star for the service. Though I like just about everything on Coupa's menu, the management of traffic flow and the service at this location is abhorrent. Prices here are standardly high. Unlike their other locations, there are no numbers on table stands given out at this Coupa when you place an order. Instead, you have to linger around the counter and wait for your order to maybe turn up after 10-20 minutes, when someone with a heavy Spanish accent will call out the order number once, and sucks for you if you miss it. The whole set up at this location just doesn't really make sense to me. You can't see the menu until you're two people from the front of the line, the people behind the cash register are rushed and unfriendly, and despite the fact that there are 5-6 people working behind the counter at all times, it's impossible to get your order in a timely manner (even for something simple) or get help when you're either missing a part of your order or can't find it. A bagel and a bottle of water shouldn't take 10 minutes and then come without the water. I order grab-n-go because I want to grab it and go, not because I want to stand there and wait as long as if I had ordered pancakes. read more

For at least a few years after I joined Yelp, I had MoonBeams bookmarked as "To Review." At some point I realized MoonBeams had closed and I'd never felt strongly about it in the first place, so I moved on with my life. On my last visit to campus, I met one of my college professors at MoonBeams' replacement, Coupa Cafe. It was kind of nice to see that it looked the same. Coupa Cafe is conveniently located in a central part of campus, right in front of the main library. When I was a student, I passed by MoonBeams almost every day. One day early on in my senior year, I locked my bike outside MoonBeams and managed to lose the key. I saw that bike every time I went to class until I graduated. (It isn't there anymore. I checked.) I never ate at MoonBeams, or really used it much at all unless someone asked to meet there. Coupa Cafe serves a similar function, a rendezvous spot and coffee stop for the Stanford population. That said, Coupa seems a bit more ambitious than MoonBeams. You can get a full meal here if you feel so inclined. I think I've been to a Coupa Cafe in Beverly Hills, and this outpost seems entirely different, but if the food is similar, it could be pretty decent. I'd just come from jamming an entire falafel one-handed into my face on the drive over, so I just got a Diet Coke. I sat with my professor at a little table in the sun, and we caught up and enjoyed the warm weather. I almost felt like a student again. Coupa Cafe may be new in name, but it feels very much like a part of campus life. I'll probably come back as long as I have reasons to stop by Stanford. read more

Tasty food and drink and plenty of (outdoor) seating What's not to like? We arrived a little early for our campus tour and stopped by for some midmorning refreshment. The iced teas (Mango Indica and Black Los Andes) were quite tasty as was the linzer bar, banana bread, and ham and cheese croissants. It's a quick serve counter so nothing major in the way of service one way or the other and since nothing we ordered had to be prepared the wait was reasonable. read more

I'm currently the Duke here, and I have been ashamed up to this point to write a review about this place. Mainly, it's because their food is overpriced and they don't have any dishes that stand out. And their food is overpriced here, I did mention that right? I mean how can a fruit parfait be 4.50 or whatever crazy price they charge. Their lattes are just blah. Too sweet, nothing stands out. I do like their 5 dollar special menu. You can get a small hot dog, bag of chips and a coke. Better value. (They won't however, allow me to change a soda for a water...wth) Their Chicken Quesadilla isn't too bad either. I tried one of their savory crepes before too, but the crepe felt so rubbery. I've also had the Chicken Salad wrap. Surprisingly, it is actually really good. the dressing, wrap, chicken and lettuce, compliment each other very well. For some reason though, this place gets super busy. I guess more so because it's convenient and located right between the Green and Meyer Library than the actual food. Service is great here though. The description the business provided for Yelp paints Coupa as an "urban oasis, a lively Venezuelan restaurant featuring a completely new style of international dining." It continues, "Coupa Cafe is the only restaurant in the world outside Venezuela where you can enjoy the nation's shade grown, handpicked, patio sun-dried, super fair trade organic single estate Arabica coffee beans roasted in small batches, along with international sweet and savory delights." Uhhh. If it's not apparent from the menu, it... doesn't ring too true. If you come to Coupa Cafe at Green library looking for fine international dining and Venezuelan cuisine, you'll be disappointed. That said, it's cool that they "support local, organic, sustainable & family run farms" and that everything is made with fresh and local ingredients. This location is good spot to meet up for coffee or to take a break when you're studying in the area, especially late at night or early in the morning. I find it to be too chaotic during peak times- particularly in the afternoon. Like other Coupas, this one has reliable food/drinks (so far, I've enjoyed the Tiger Spice Chai, Pesto Chicken Crepe, Rosemary Chicken Panini -- all pretty good), but it's by no means spectacular. This is a nice alternative to The CoHo. Dining options on the Stanford campus are pretty slim when the dining halls close, and I think Coupa is one of the best offerings. I really enjoy their wraps and crepes. The Pesto chicken crepe is pretty delicious. The quality of the sweet crepes have been hit or miss for me though. Sometimes I really enjoy my sweet crepe, other times it just seems like an unappetizing mess. This location offers online ordering which makes it a pretty convenient eating spot, and the prices are reasonable as well. As a result, when the dining halls close, Coupa is usually my campus food of choice. read more

Five stars for the location, value, and taste. Location is central to campus, super close to the library and (selfish, I know) to the building I work in. Value is great: $2.75 for a medium chai latte. Taste: My iced tiger spice chai was creamy and flavorful, sweet but not overpoweringly so. Super refreshing, tremendously satisfying, and all I could think about after the first step was how much I regretted that it wasn't bottomless. I work way too close to this place. I'm sorry, wallet. I like like it when places cater to their location. And this place was quite different to the Beverly Hills location. Instead of the sit down, pay to park, wait-serviced Rodeo drive vibe, the Palo Alto location offers a cafe ambiance where you order at the counter. The empanaditas were good, but tasted a little mushy on the inside like they had been on a warmer for a bit. The tequenos also didn't taste as fresh as Bev Hills, but I liked the vibe of the cafe a lot more. read more

Over priced and portions getting smaller and smaller. I guess they really want to squeeze/starve us here on campus and increase their bottom line. My soup to go, a "bowl" for $7 came out to a cup size- I poured the contents just to see. I asked for some bread to go along with my soup, crackers, anything? That would be $2.50 extra. My goodness, I could be wrong but I don't think this soup is homemade but bought in bulk from somewhere else. Bread, $2.50 for 2 small cuts of a baguette? When Coupa first opened on campus, the salads to go were robust with bread given, and the soup to go had bigger containers and also bread given. The salads are about 1/2 the size now, same with the soup, and no bread. Bread is a table staple here in America and many parts of Europe, it is embarrassing to charge for a little cut of a baguette equalling about 3" for $2.50. An entire baguette costs that much! GSB- Arrillaga Family Dining, just a hop skip and jump from Green Library, has various soup selections and larger containers for only $4.50 with crackers, condiments, included. 3.5 stars A decked out stand with roof and small kitchen. Outside seating available. There are hits and misses for me. This location seems to be always busy. I do enjoy their super duper strong COFFEE. Once in awhile I do treat myself with their CHAI LATTE, I get the TIGER chai which I believe is a powder. I find myself adding water to it to decrease the sugar and creaminess slightly. Chai powders contain powdered milk so that plus whole milk is too much. Come here mostly for the coffee, prepared food is decent, not my favorite. I've tried their: HAM & CHEESE CREPE (meh) the ham was cut up sandwich meat that was overly salted and I won't be ordering this one again. A variety of PANINIs - For the CHICKEN paninis, the chicken is baked/prepared with just salt I believe so the flavor comes from the sauce or condiments with the sandwich. MEDITERRANEAN $7.31 including tax (meh), I prefer the ROSEMARY CHICKEN one. GRILLED EGGPLANT and mozz and tomato is good. They do have a few vegetarian choices. Their BAKERY items don't appeal to me. Not a fan of their CROISSANTS, I'm pretty picky on those. Their ALMOND CROISSANT was not good --not flaky and the filling tastes artificial. My BISCOTTI had stale nuts in it. I was pleasantly surprised by their CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE, not bad. The RASPBERRY POPTART looking thing is pretty good --like a big a flat shortbread sandwich. read more
