Super cute cafe in a nice location! It's located next to a driving range and aviation center with plenty of parking. This cafe is super nice to visit on a sunny morning - I usually like to get a cup of coffee and pastry for breakfast and just chill outside and chat. I found this lovely café by chance driving by when I searched for a quick place to stop and work remotely before at an appointment at lunchtime in Palo Alto. I'm so happy I did because it's one of the few places that has a nice London Fog. I love that when you get your coffee "for here" it comes in actual ceramic mugs instead of plastic or paper. Thanks for creating less waste this way They even have metal utensils too! There is a long table inside with an outlet extension for working that could comfortably seat 6 people, but up to 10 if you really wanted to. Inside, it's bright with all the storefront glass and spacious with its open strut ceiling concept. Aside from coffee and tea, they also have salads, croffles, tartines of various combinations, and pastries so you can grab a quick bite or dessert too. Parking is limited right in front of the café but there's another parking lot in the area so I wouldn't worry about parking here either. The cloud 9 name and theme is so clever since it is right by an aviation club. The music inside is light and unobtrusive. Outside there's a peaceful, quiet patio with shade, sun, and flowers. Has potential but vibes were kind of off. First, for almost $10 for an iced matcha latte can I have it filled to the brim please ? I came at opening, and it was just myself and one other person there getting a drink. Both of our drinks had about an inch of a gap. If I'm paying almost $10 for a drink with tip I expect a full 12oz or 16oz latte. Per previous complaints, it states they are supposed to fill it all the way. Cloud9 Coffee is perched between a small airport and a golf range. With a small somewhat confusing parking lot and some street parking, Cloud9 Coffee is busy especially weekend mornings. The menu has a great selection of specialty coffee, tea, pastries, toasts and of course their beloved croffles. This Korean cafe is quite small inside with limited seating indoors but a good amount of outdoor seating. There is a small selection of merchandise, beans, and some dog products for sale. The pastries are from Midwife & the Baker so you know they're solid. Service is pretty inefficient and inconsistent here. Some of the orders are brought out to you by the workers while some orders just sit on the coffee counter unclaimed with no name or receipt attached to it. We received a drink and a toast via delivery to our table by a worker. We then waited 10 minutes for the rest of our order to come out but finally gave up and my husband went inside to check on the order. Apparently my iced coffee and scone had been sitting abandoned on the counter for a while. When he asked "is this the butterscotch latte for Stephanie?", the worker shrugged and was unsure of the drink. So it's safe to say, the service here is a bit messy and disorganized. The cashier never asked if we were dining for here or to-go. Our toast came out on a plate while the pastry came out in a disposable sleeve. Lack of communication seems to be the issue here. If they could implement a standardized pick up system and perhaps just stick with numbers (rather than names) it would be less confusing. Also if they asked customers whether they would like their order to-go that would be more efficient. Butterscotch latte - Creamy, good balance of coffee to milk ratio. Sweet but not too sweet in my opinion. Quite enjoyable and goes well with a scone. Brie proscuitto toast - The country bread is substantial but holds up well without getting soggy. The brie was creamy and rich. The proscuitto added a nice touch of salt while the balsamic adds a bold acidic contrast. All together with the greens and mangoes, the flavors come together well. Orangesicle scone with vanilla drizzle - Crumbly but still moist, this scone is refreshing and you can taste the citrus flavor. The vanilla flavor is a nice touch adding some light sweetness. Final thoughts: Coffee and toast/pastries were delicious. This is a great outdoor spot especially on a day with some nice sunshine. Service is a little disorganized and can be really confusing. We noticed the workers making a lot of mistakes with other nearby customers' orders. Unless they make changes to their communication with customers, I would suggest waiting inside for your order so theres less room for error. read more

Black sesame latte - Amazing latte! The best I've had in a while. My black sesame latte (with an added shot) was smooth and creamy and nutty and just the right amount bitter. A lot of the black sesame had settled at the bottom of the cup once I had finished the drink, so that taste was quite mild. I liked it anyway, like a latte with a hint of nuttiness. Most tables are partly shaded and next to the Palo Alto airport and the Bay Lands nature preserve. Tip: best when it's sunny, warm and not windy. Part of me thought about writing this review and whether I wanted folks to discover this spot or keep it to myself, I decided to write a review as good things are to be shared I really like this coffee spot, though it has a lot of pros and some cons too, but overall it's one of my favorites I love their butterscotch latte, I have had the iced version as well but they add way too much milk to it (when you ask for half decaf, they just reduce the number of shots and add more milk be adding a shot of decaf espresso) which is a con. I do wish they would add a shot of decaf espresso when you ask for half caffeinated becuse without it they just add milk and it changes the flavor of their drinks, and not in a good way My husband love their red velvet latte, their peppermint and he tried their cloudy which was way too milky. We love their croffels; I love matcha croffel, and it's a great concept to make a waffle out of a croissant , and he loves the plain strawberry one. They add raspberries to the matcha croffel, and it's sweet but not too sweet. Likewise their butterscotch latte isn't too sweet. My husband always takes this place to go for us. Cloud9 Coffee was awesome! I visited on a Saturday morning and found the place pretty busy. The interior was bright and clean, with minimal decor and some indoor seating. Most of the seating was outside on the (dog-friendly) patio though. I love when coffee shops have real food on their menu, and Cloud9 had sandwiches, salads, and tartines. The tartines all sounded so good, I had the hardest time choosing, but went with the Brie Pear. For coffee, I chose the Thai Tea Latte. Service was pretty quick despite them being so busy, and I was able to snag a table outside. My Thai Tea Latte was phenomenal. The flavor was so good, and the drink wasn't overly sweet. I also loved the Brie Pear Tartine - such a nice combination of textures and flavors. Will be returning to explore more of the menu! read more

My husband come here every once in awhile. We love the calming ambiance of the sunlight over here. The parking lot is small, but we park in the lot across from it sometimes. I wasn't expecting to find this spot right by the Palo Alto airport. I tried their holiday drink the peppermint mocha, it was light on the peppermint and not too sweet which was nice but I wanted a tad bit more peppermint flavor. My husband got the drip coffee, and we shared a ham and cheese croffle. After one bite, I told him he needed to order his own. The croffle (croissant waffle) was buttery and chewy, with a nice balance of sweet and savory from the ham, cheese, spring mix, and balsamic glaze. Beautiful location right by the aviation center and golf course. They're known for the Cloudy Latte, but since it only comes iced, it wasn't my favorite--I also would've liked it a bit sweeter. The hot black sesame latte with a shot of espresso, however, was delicious -- perfectly balanced in sweetness and coffee strength. Nice cute little cafe tucked in the corner of the plaza. Parking can be a bit difficult, but they do have a couple small lots + street parking. The decor is nice, and I saw a lot of people working on their laptop when I visited on a Thursday noon. They have a lot of drinks on the menu, including tea. Service was great. I wasn't sure if I wanted a shot of espresso in my black sesame latte (I don't normally like coffee that much, but I was sleep deprived), so I asked her to keep the shot of espresso on the side in case I'd order the original black sesame latte more. I loved the cream from the black sesame latte, but the drink itself wasn't nutty enough for me and the black sesame taste was too subtle, so I just poured the cup of espresso in directly. The combo was pretty smooth and not too bitter. However, the cream on the top because too liquidy (aka it got mixed) so I was a bit sad because the cream was sooo good. The cream was also probably why I didn't think the coffee was too bitter though. read more

This korean coffee place near the airport surprised me! Came with my fiance on a weekend wanting to try a new place. The inside is quite nice, there were several tables available for brunch style food. It was decently packed, maybe 10-12 people there at the time of our arrival. They sell pretty cute merch! I thought the designs were pretty good and I almost bought one of the shirts. I ordered a cold brew with cream. Honestly, the cream was pretty good! the cold brew part was about typical fare. I don't think there are any words to describe my love for Cloud9! The area is so cute, because it has seating indoors and outdoors (+shade). It's such a cool place to hang out or work/study. Everyone who was working was so nice, they were patient and able to answer any questions I had about the drinks. The parking can be a bit confusing, but street parking doesn't seem to be an issue. Additionally, the bathrooms are communal with the rest of the building and is located in the very back (I spent a long time trying to find it but again, the employees were so kind about it)! The drinks were also super yummy, I got the cloudy coffee and strawberry matcha which were simply good. Unique coffee spot by the airfield in Palo Alto, so you can watch the small plane adrenaline junkies zip by while enjoying your cappuccino and croffle on their gardenesque shaded patio. A calm place to relax or work, off the beaten path. I had an excellent cappuccino and my first ever croffle -- matcha cream with fresh raspberry. The croffle was delicious for both taste buds and eyes, and it makes me want to recreate the dish at home. Cloud9 stood out to my partner and I when we were wanting a quick bite. Customer service was good and fast. The restaurant itself is welcoming and bright. Just next door is an airfield and it was nice to see planes come and go as I drank my coffee. There is outdoor seating as well. I ordered the Red Velvet Latte and I was surprised when I first saw it and tasted it. The latte has a bold undertone where you can truly taste the coffee beans while offering a light sweetness of the Red Velvet cream. Both flavors complimented one another and the coffee tasted real. I also ordered the avocado toast with egg and I was surprised with this one as well. The toast is really big and it got a bit messy when I ate it. The avocado was fresh, the bits of lettuce were refreshing, the egg complimented the avocado, and the balsamic dressing wrapped everything together nicely. The toast itself was toasted perfectly as well and tasted fresh. My partner ordered the Strawberry Croffle and I was offered a bite because of how good it was. The cream used on top wasn't too sweet and it was very light. It could definitely be a nice little breakfast even if you may not be a fan of having something sweet in the morning. Reasonably priced too considering it's Palo Alto where it's not uncommon to fork over $15 for an avocado toast... sadly T___T Relaxing and calm atmosphere with outdoor seating. My friend and I came across this hidden jewel and I have to say, after tasting one bite of their Burrata Salad, I honestly felt like I was on Cloud 9! Airplanes take off next door and my toddler loved watching the planes go up. This cafe is definitely hidden in a somewhat remote area and was pretty busy when I arrived. I got the cloudy latte and blackberry scone. The cloudy latte was not too sweet (to my liking) with a fresh vanilla cold foam on top which gave the latte a good balance in taste. I appreciated that it wasn't too strong in caffeine. The blackberry scone was surprisingly tasty and not dry like a typical scone. The turbinado sugar coating gave it an extra sweet crunchy touch! There was limited indoor seating and a good amount of outdoor seating. It was definitely a nice spot to chill and catch up with friends. There's also a breezy paved trail nearby! read more

My partner, my dog and I visit this coffee shop on Saturday around 11am. It was busy, but the line wasn't long and there were table available. The tables outside were also spaced out quite nicely, there was shade at every table, and space for the few dogs that were there to sit near the table and not worry about tripping someone, or them getting to close to anyone enjoying their coffee (although they were all very well behaved). It was a little windy, but the view was nice. Parking in the immediate lot is tough, but the golf course has good amounts of parking and they're right next to each other. I had the butterscotch latte, I'm not really into coffee, but you can tell the quality was good and smooth. The flavoring was not too sweet, and the latte was not too heavy. The tartine was also delicious. The portion size, and the spread was even so every bite was delicious. The staff was also very friendly and helpful! If they noticed you were looking for your food, they would check to make sure it was on its way, and they were busy making sure the tables were always clean for the next customers that came by. read more

The Thai tea latte caught my eye and then I just couldn't resist my favorite cookie, a ginger molasses so this meal kicks off self care Saturday. The latte had that characteristic redness of Thai tea so clearly there is assam tea in the mix but it didn't really impart the distinct Thai tea flavor for me. The cookie is sourced from the Midwife and the Baker, an amazing bakery in Mountain View and it was as good as expected - exceptionally chewy with a bit of crispness from the course sugar topping, good ginger flavor from the chunks of candied ginger, and not too sweet. There is complimentary WiFi for an hour here so there were a decent number of people hanging out. Their front patio area is also pretty nice with some oversized games and some more cushiony patio furniture. read more

I loved it here! Don't bother trying to park right in front of the café. When you enter, turn left into the larger lot, which has plenty more parking. This is such a great spot to stop before or after a hike in the Baylands. It's right next to a golf course and a small airport, so you'll occasionally hear planes passing overhead. Still, it's a cozy little café with ample outdoor seating, and inside there's a long communal-style table packed with people on their laptops. How anyone can focus in such a bustling space, I have no idea, but more power to them. We ordered the brown sugar croffle, which, true to its name, is very sweet. It's topped with syrup that has a faint liqueur-like flavor and sprinkled generously with powdered cinnamon. The croffle doesn't come with utensils, so be sure to ask if you're dining in. We ended up eating about three-quarters of it since it was a bit too sweet for our taste (and that's sharing!). Next time, I'd probably try the plain one since that seems more up my alley. I also got the matcha latte, which was solid. It wasn't sweet, which I expected, and while I ordered it with vanilla foam, I couldn't really taste any vanilla flavor, so I'm not sure if it was included. Still, it was enjoyable overall. I just wish there had been a touch more of that vanilla sweetness I was anticipating. It was crowded on a Saturday afternoon, but the line moved quickly and we easily found a spot to sit. Next time, I'm definitely trying one of the tartines. They looked so good as people walked by with them. Yum! :9 Overall, I'd come back for the relaxed, peaceful vibe and prime people-watching opportunities, from high schoolers chatting about grades and college apps to techies and young families with kids. It seemed pretty popular when we went to visit on a Saturday morning, but service was fast, and didn't take too long to order either. Some of the pastries were out by the time we got there, but there were still plenty of other options. We ordered a matcha latte and a cappuccino. The matcha latte was smooth and nice to sip on when it was slightly chilly in the shade. Hubby thought his cappuccino was decent, but a little on the sharper side. He is more of a coffee connoisseur, and always on the look out for latte places, which unfortunately, this place didn't do it for him. The latte sizes are also over 10oz, and he prefers a 8 or less oz size. Nice latte art though. Slightly disappointed that pastries are outsourced from Midwife and the Baker, but I guess that makes sense since this is more a coffee store and not a bakery. This was my second time at this location. This time I went on a Monday morning at 8:30am and it was pretty empty. There were plenty of seats inside and outside. I decided to try a new drink, Black Sesame Latte in addition to one of my other favorite drink at this place, Cloudy. I thought the black sesame taste was pretty good. I added an espresso shot to it since the original drink doesn't come with coffee and I thought it was perfect. The perfect amount of sweetness as well. I also love the flavor to their coffee, not bitter or acidic. Would highly recommend these two drinks! I love that there is plenty of outdoor seating and a lot of those outdoor seating has an umbrella attached to it for shade. Perfect to enjoy the day with your dog outside. read more
