Build Your Own Salad
Heather Violet B.

I work near this place and got it for lunch recently. The menu caught my eye as there are several options for vegetarians, vegans and gluten free folks, as well as meat eaters like myself. Since I order catering for my office from time to time, for different events I'm always on the look out for fresh options. I ordered the build your own salad. Lots of good options for salad toppings as well as the base, protein options and delicious sounding dressing options! (I'm looking at you next Mr. lemon vinaigrette!) I got the Carne Mechado (Venezuelian Shredded Beef) as a protein topper and it was so good! Super flavorful! The sesame-ginger dressing is also really good. Super happy with my meal and can't wait to try other options. They offer breakfast and lunch with a bunch of items with a Valenzuela twist. Service thru Door Dash was super fast and easy. Happy I found this little cafe!

I had a business meeting here this week and had a good experience. Good drink and snack options. I was a little confused by the location initially. There's not much parking right by it, but there is a larger underground parking lot behind it that you can use. It appears to be part of an apartment complex.

Spicy mochas

Artisan coffees, fresh food and welcoming atmosphere make Coupa Cafe a special place to seek out. I don't normally drink mochas but I will make an exception for Coupa's Spicy Mocha. On this visit, I tried the tasty breakfast tacos and I've enjoyed the arepas on previous visits.

Location is nice with free underground retail parking. If you need a high chair, it's not readily available. I happened to ask the staff and they kindly brought one out from the back. Food took a while to come out. Just over 25 minutes. We don't believe the food is worth the price. My husband said his French Toast was plain. There wasn't much batter absorbed and bland. With possibly the equivalent of a single strawberry on top for $13. Pass. My toddler's quesadilla was tiny. I don't think it's worth $7. On the bright side, I enjoyed the Breakfast Crepe. It wasn't filled to the edge but surprisingly I got full. The touch of guasacaca adds a delicious zing. The Tiger Spice chai was also delicious. Overall it doesn't seem like a go-to breakfast cafe for us. I'll drop by for more drinks though!

Nicely tucked away a luxury condo building's ground floor right off El Camino, Coupa Cafe has a lively and casual vibe with a constant stream of patrons coming in for lunch, work, and conversation. There are ample places to sit inside with the cavernous ceilings and outside with the open sky and hustle and bustle of El Camino. Service was good considering it was a one man show holding down the for. The chai was great topped with a very frothy and light foam. I appreciate the "to stay" option translating into ceramic cups for eco friendly purposes.

Coupa cafe has some of the best chai I've ever tried! I went for the sweeter option, although they have different kinda. It was amazing in my dirty chai latte and I was tempted by the array of sweet treats they had available. I spend the day studying here and really enjoyed all of the natural light and pleasant ambiance. The parking is a little hard to find because of the location but it's worth it!

I was in the area waiting for Chef Chu's to open for lunch. A quick Yelp search for coffee and this cafe popped up. I think it's deja vu or not, but I could've sworn I was here before. That's why I upload a ton of photos to document and remember that I've been to this and that place. I just wanted a large cup of the Deluxious Dark Mocha as requested by my wife for the drive back to Sacramento. There were two manning the counter and I could've sworn one of them took a break as we were queued for ordering. After 5 minutes or so, I was finally able to get my single order in and waited. There was more waiting for my coffee as they had a lot of orders ahead of me. The smell of the beans being grounded and brewed was just teasing my thirst for the java. It was a wait of about 30 more minutes, but the brew was worth it. It's good I wasn't in a hurry and a lot of photos were snapped during this idle time.

Came here yesterday and today before my Kindbody appointment (it's right next to it). It's a nice cafe that has yummy food and drinks. Parking is convenient too. There is an underground parking structure for retail. I ordered the vegan plate and that was a great lunch before my appointment and then I came back this morning for a matcha latte with almond milk and a croissant sandwich. Both really good and I'd order it again. Matcha latte was on the sweeter side but not too sweet for me. The sandwich was simple but delicious! Yesterday and today's guests both have a lot of people on their laptop and working remotely. Similar vibes to any other coffee shop.

Carne mechada arepa

Breakfast arepa Carne mechada arepa Venezuelan Latte Modern and yet relaxing spot to hang out -- either for coffee, food or ambience. The vaulted ceilings give it a spacious feel. Breakfast arepa This was delicious. The cheese was flavorful and complimented the egg, bacon and the cornmeal arepa well. Carne mechada arepa Not sure if this is the authentic style, though I found the meat to be a tad tough -- though it did fall off the bone.

Large Hot Chocolate

I have passed this place so many times as it's across the street to the San Antonio Shopping Center. I thought it was just a coffee shop, but their menu has salads, burgers, tacos, quesadillas and more. I only had time to grab a hot chocolate to go. They have two types of hot chocolates available. I ordered the Delicious Dark Hot Chocolate, which really was delicious. I hope to try the Spicy Maya Hot Chocolate next time.

Date of visit 12/5/23 This was my first visit to this beautiful cafe in Los Altos. The cafe was decorated with Christmas decorations and looked very clean. I saw many people working and some catching up with friends. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place for a catch-up with friends over coffee. Although I found the food to be slightly expensive, I believe that's because I'm comparing the prices in California to the prices I'm used to paying in Maryland. Regardless, the egg scramble I ordered was totally worth it. I also tried the Vietnamese coffee (cold brew) and liked it, even though I'm not really a fan of cold coffee. One thing that the cafe can improve upon is when I asked for recommendations (since this was my first time here) the customer usually expects to hear about the most popular drink or the barista's favorite, and I didn't get a clear answer for this!

JP's Waffle (Strawberry, Banana, Nutella)
Kate A.

Coupa Cafe serves breakfasts the whole day and it's awesome! There is a big variety of things you can have for breakfast: from waffles and pancakes to sandwiches and bagels. Location is very good too, as there are grocery shops, nice neighborhoods close by. Staff is super nice. There are tables inside and outside. You make an order at the register and pay right away. I ordered waffle with strawberries, banana and Nutella and my friend ordered oven roasted turkey panini, that goes with salad. Food was good. The portions were giant and even 1 item would be enough for two people. Cappuccino had a tasty milky foam but coffee was bitter.

Avocado Toast

Updating my previous review after trying new items. FOOD [4/5] ----------- + Strazza Crepe [4/5] Super sweet and typical rendition of a strawberry crepe. They give lots and lots of strawberries! I liked the whipped cream too. :) + Breakfast Wrap [5/5] This was SO good for the price! And it was super delicious. The wrap was warm, balanced very well with veggies and meat, and the sauce is to die for! + Mango Smoothie [4/5] A pretty good smoothie! A little more on the expensive side.

Delicious dark mocha, vanilla frappe

There are a couple of tables in the inside and a lot outside for you to sit! The cashier at the counter was very friendly and attentive. We waited around 10 minutes for our drinks, where we were able to take our sandwiches from the refrigerated portion of the case. It seems like there are sandwiches you can order where they will make it for you in the back, which I would like to try next time. Between me and my partner, here is what we got: * Sakura iced coffee: this exceeded my expectations! I thought the Sakura flavor came through without being too sweet and surprisingly the coffee did not overpower it and complemented it very well. * Banana matcha: this might be one of the first banana matchas I have had that did not taste artificial. I really like how they give you a small spoon shovel so you can eat some of the pudding top. So cute! * Egg sando: very yummy and they used the perfect amount of mayo. It was a light, delightful bite. * Strawberry sando: now this is the overall winner that stole my heart! This might be the best strawberry sando I had and I was surprised! Their strawberries were not only fresh and crisp, but the deep sweet vanilla bean flavor you got from the whipped cream was phenomenal! I usually do not care for strawberry sandos but this one got my attention! Overall, awesome place in Mountain View!

I have already been to Covour a handful of times, mostly on weekdays, where I'm usually planted there for a few hours to do some work or study. I really appreciate the selection of drinks they have, ranging from fun flavored lattes like tiramisu and burnt brown sugar to matchas, hojichas, and classic cafe staples like americanos and flat whites. Everything I've had here has been delicious and always hits the spot. They also have a range of food and toasts you can order. I recently got the ricotta and honey toast, which was delicious and light! Heads up, though, as expected, they do run low on stock later in the day. I came around 2 PM, and there were maybe four baked goods left. Overall, it's a great choice, and if you're in the area, definitely check them out.

Some of them don't even go to any other bakery besides this one and as such, I was excited to try their pastries. I got a combination of both basic items such as their croissant and their more decorative items such as their Paris Brest. The fundamental difference between American pastries and their French counterparts is that the latter are much less heavy and sweet and in that sense, Maison Alyzee does a good job. However, that quality really isn't that important to me unless I'm making baked goods at home or having them at a friend's. When it comes to a bakery, I care more about nuanced flavors, tastes, and textures and in those aspects, this place didn't really blow me away. To put it this way, I would rather travel to Midwife and the Baker and have one of their croissants at a cheaper price even if it may be more of a sugar bomb. I was actually contemplating knocking off another star because of how much the pastries cost an arm and a leg (almost $10+ for some of the individual items). In the end, I decided against it because this bakery is the first I've visited where the pastries both look nice AND taste good (Paris Baguette and Alexander's Patisserie, take note). Overall, this place is good if you are looking for pastries that both look and taste nice. Perhaps my palate is just not sophisticated enough but I just don't get any unique taste that warrants them being the most authentic French patisserie in the area. Personally, I would visit Midwife, Craftsman, and (soon) Arsicault in Palo Alto to get a more "quality' pastry.

The Signature Chocolate Tart was very dense and fudgy and had a very fine layer of crushed hazelnuts that you really couldn't see but you could could enjoy the texture difference. A tiny flake of gold on top really made it classy. The Lemon Custard Tart was beautiful. Very light, not too sweet, and had a beautiful lemon tang which we all loved. A nice thin crust as well. The Pecan Cinnamon Roll was nice, but it was a tad on the dry side. It was thick and the top was sticky and yummy, but I feel like the interior could've been a little bit more moist. Maybe put some of that sticky stuff in there, lol! All in all, it was wonderful and we will be back.

Okay but... a hotel coffee shop with good matcha? That's the plot twist I didn't know I needed…read more We stopped here on my way out of Santa Clara heading to San Francisco -- it's conveniently close to a bunch of other spots, and since it's tucked inside a hotel, parking was ridiculously easy. (Underrated luxury.) Now, the hotel itself? Visually... a moment. It looked like someone invested serious money into it, but the design felt a little space-meets-startup-meets-what's-happening-here. Some elements felt elevated, others felt a bit makeshift. I genuinely couldn't tell what the theme was -- futuristic? celestial? boutique-on-a-budget? I'm still processing. The front desk team was clearly well-trained and knowledgeable -- they had every answer, every stat, every rate breakdown ready. But the warmth? Missing. I was hoping for a little storytelling since I'd never heard of the hotel before, and instead got a very matter-of-fact "we've been here five years" energy. Efficient, yes. Inviting, not quite. But let's talk about why you're really here: the coffee shop. Completely different vibe. Two people working, both genuinely happy, welcoming, and quick. We ordered a latte and a matcha to go -- total was about $22, which made me blink for a second -- but then I tasted the matcha. Oh. This wasn't the overly sweet, dusty-green situation you sometimes get. It tasted clean. Real. High-quality. The kind of matcha that feels intentional. I love Firehouse in Marin, but this? This was closer to serious coffee roaster-level quality. Smooth, organic-tasting, beautifully balanced. You could tell they care about what they're serving. Branding was strong, the space was cute, and I could absolutely see myself sitting there with my laptop pretending I'm writing something important. We grabbed ours to go, but it had that easy, airy, "stay awhile" energy. Would I book the hotel? Jury's still out. They don't have an in-house spa and mentioned bringing in third-party services for certain amenities, which made it feel a little less full-service than I expected. Would I go back for the coffee shop? Without hesitation. Delicious drinks, easy parking, quick service, and a vibe that actually makes you want to come back. Sometimes the side character steals the show -- and in this case, it's 100% the matcha.

It took less time to make this time (roughly about five minutes after ordering), and when it came out, I marveled at how it looked like a work of art! Just beautiful! Each piece of herbed formage blanc flatbread had a nice, crunchy bottom (but not blackened) and a slightly tanginess, with a a good amount of "hen-of-the-wood" mushrooms, sweet roasted garlic and a bed of arugula. My, oh, my! My first bite was a multi-level extravaganza! The crunch of the bread, followed by the aroma of the herbs and arugula, then the saltiness of the cheese, the sweetness of the roasted garlic, the earthiness of the mushrooms - all came together as just a wonderful work of culinary art! This being my first time eating today, my saliva glands just fired off at first bite, causing a bit of intense pain from too much saliva shooting out. But, seriously, this was a very delicious entree, that I enjoyed from start to finish! Bravo for this second joyous experience!
