Cozy little cafe with a nice little store inside. I like the art displayed around the shop. The baristas are knowledgeable about their menu and shared with us their recommendations of the egg melt sandwiches. So I got the egg melt sausage and I enjoyed it.

I was impressed with their espresso, I'm usually quite picky. This did not need to be washed down with additional milk or anything like that. The place is open with a nice ambiance, it is good for working or studying. Pastries looked tempting but I didn't try one this time and the service was decent albiet being the only person in the coffee shop.

Visited midweek, and parking was a bit rough with a full lot in the plaza. But the place was awesome and had such a delightful and inviting atmosphere, indoor and outdoor seating, and friendly and attentive staff, with minimal waits on a Thursday. I got the egg muffin melt with sausage, as well as an iced mocha no whip. Both items were delish, the sandwich particularly better than expected, with yummy melted cheese, a savory breakfast sausage patty, and a soft buttery english muffin holding it all together nicely. What's more, I was pleasantly surprised that this cafe consists of a gift shop as well. Yup, they fit more than just tables and seating inside. The display of adorable popup greeting cards stood out to me. But other merchandise for sale included stationery, puzzles, books like aesop's fables, cute gifts for kids like an animal-themed memory match game and activity sets that encourage creativity, and even USB cables. Random, unexpected, and definitely unique.

Fall Specialty Menu (September 29, 2024)

This is a lovely coffee shop with cute interior decor. There is plenty of seating in this cafe. There is also lots of parking. There is an extensive menu and many different specialty flavors. I got the hazelnut praline latte and that was amazing. It was sweet and nutty which complimented the espresso excellently. It was a bit difficult to decide with all the choices, so I guess that means I just have to come back and try some more. Staff is super friendly and will answer your questions like what the trick or treat flavor is (marshmallow and something else, I forgot). Overall, it was a great experience with great coffee and I will be back.

The only power strip available for customers. Only 3 out of 9 tables will be able to reach it.
 Good luck laptop users!

I informed the workers of the power access issue in mid Oct of 2024. I haven't seen any changes yet. If I come in with a laptop & I can't sit next to that power strip, then I leave & go to Starbucks, where I'm guaranteed to have access to a power, regardless of where I sit.

The coffee here is decent, and it's a nice spot to hang out. I ordered a hot almond latte, but it was a bit lackluster compared to other cafes. The almond milk wasn't mixed well with the shot. Still, local shops always have a charm that beats out the chains for me.

I happened to visit this coffee place by random but really liked it! The staff is friendly and nice. I ordered latte, and it was prepared within minutes! The coffee itself is rather good. There are also some pastries available if you want something sweet with your drink. There are other options accept coffee like chai tea latter or lemonade. There is also a small gift shop inside the Clocktower where you can find cute postcards, pins, etc. The parking is quite spacious but can be limited during busy hours.

The blueberry muffin latte is missing a huge component, the blueberry! The coffee was creamy and the beans were ok though. Thank you!

I've only ordered their espresso drinks; they know how to properly steam and pour the milk for espresso art, and I'm a fan of the lavender latte. Service: You order via a kiosk, so interactions with the servers are a bit limited, but if the queue for either kiosk is long they'll call you over to the register directly to take your order. I haven't had any qualms with their service. Ambiance: It's a bit of a darker vibe with amber-colored wooden tables, dark paint on the walls, concrete flooring, and slightly subdued but ample lighting, but I find it aesthetically pleasing. They also sell some miscellaneous goods (Korean wellness products?) on the side near the register, which I found to be an interesting decision. Other than that, it's a nice place to sit down and work on stuff, and there is plenty of space to do so. Overall: I like Big Mug as a neighborhood coffee shop that offers a good latte, and I'm sure I'll be stopping by again in the future.

There's a kiosk to order now with a majority of items missing pictures and descriptions. Still, the staff seem busier than ever, my lavender latte took about 15 minutes and it was hard to find open seating. I think the quality has gotten a little worse here, my latte was very sweet even with less sugar requested, and they seemed to just dump espresso on top of milk and callel my name in a hurry. They also seem to sell beauty products now, which is a little strange. The whole experience across the board felt unpolished, not sure if I'd come back here next time unless I'm in the area.

There was a mix of people studying, working, and chatting with friends; it's a very lively community spot. Despite how chaotic it was, the space was generally clean and the service was great. The cashier made sure to get our names and address us by them. The decor is beautiful, feeling intentionally designed. I thought it was really cool that they have a slow coffee bar area specifically for pour overs (I think) where tech isn't allowed, so people are just supposed to sit and enjoy their coffee. I've never seen that before in a coffee shop. The menu is extensive. Since it was later in the day, the baked goods were half off, which was a nice surprise. I got a blueberry latte and an Asian fusion focaccia bread. Blueberry latte - I liked this! The blueberry flavor was subtle and not overly sweet or artificial tasting. It added a light fruity note to the coffee without overpowering it. Fusion focaccia bread - This was tasty, but I felt the original price was steep ($12). My piece was around 6" x 3". The shiitake mushroom flavor was strong and I loved the addition of scallions and Chinese sausage sprinkled throughout the bread. Overall, this is such a cool addition to coffee culture in the South Bay. It feels like shop from a big city like SF, NYC, or Chicago instead of little ol' SJ. The ambiance and options are solid, and it has a vibe that makes you want to stay awhile. You can be a casual coffee drinker or a coffee snob and it will be a satisfying experience.

I will say the black salt on the top was a lil strong. I would like more corn cheese throughout the bread. Good service, nice space with seating, but can get busy. Please do clean up after yourself if you decided to sit.
