This seems to be a very popular place to go at Downtown Palo Alto. I've been coming across this…read morecafe wondering what the commotion is about. I guess that it's known to have good coffee and nice exterior. It looks really nice inside but outside is way better due to scenic the atmosphere is. Bunch of plants, cars driving, people walking on sidewalks, good view of other businesses, etc. It's really a good setting for studying and working. Perhaps, many university students go here for that. I saw many people use their laptops and devices. Back to the interior, it looks really modern and a perfect fit for a coffee place. I didn't really get something crazy, but I did had cafe au lait. Tastes like usual, but their prices are quite expensive since that drink was $6.30, which can be twice as expensive as the ones from low-end cafes. However, it's worth the stay and experience. I did stay outside and I honestly like it. It's probably going to be one of go to places for coffee whenever I visit downtown.

The energy was busy and full of life. I ordered an Americano and toast, and both were very good. The service was friendly, nothing life changing, but perfectly pleasant and efficient. Overall, Verve is a pleasant place to grab a coffee, get some work done, or simply enjoy the atmosphere. I would definitely come

There's a few tables and chairs to enjoy your drink and/or pastry and it's shaded. The patio is pet friendly. We ordered the iced filter coffee and it was nice, strong and smooth. We also got their seasonal flavor orange cream latte and it was so delicious. The orange was light in flavor but enough to taste the orange notes and the consistency with the whole milk was decadent. Not too sweet. Definitely will come back when in the area again.

Certainly a neighborhood feel with dogs, strollers, and the typical guys on laptops. There was only one seat available and it was positioned in the back row facing the crowd. FWIW: I'm not a coffee sage who demand specific regions, roast or rules. Flight: cold brew, cortado, shot and latte. No sugar. Two types of beans with cards describing where they come from and what flavors to expect. Experience was pleasant, even though the place was crowded. The coffees themselves were just ok. I was told what order to drink them in and I finished (90%), all but the iced version - something about the light roast with sour notes really put me off. Reasons to return: People watching- excellent. So many strollers with human and canines in them. Stayed for 1.5 hrs Coffee- good. Didn't love everything they served but they were purposeful in teaching about beans and prep. Service- fine. Person taking the order was lovely, person serving the order was clinical. No smiles on this guy.

The barista was also nice and spoke to us for a bit about what he was doing and his coffee interests. I came here with my dad the coffee lover and another time with my husband (who came for the food). I think they have a unique selection of pastries to try from and would recommend the banana sesame toast and Shio pan. I will have to try the focaccia the next time I go! Definitely come for the experience if you like pour overs!

However, the vanilla syrup and oat milk ratio didn't do it for me. The drink consisted more of coffee than oat milk... and to add to it, the vanilla syrup didn't taste good. I had to go back and request more oat milk and syrup to fix the drink. It felt as if I was insulting the barista, oops! The egg sandwich, on the other hand, was delightful although it was on the pricier side. The coffee shop was packed with folks working so we didn't find any seating indoors. Parking on the weekday was manageable but I can see it being a pain on the weekends. All in all, I want to give this spot a second chance but the coffee didn't do it for me.

I was right, able to get indoor table with my friend easier. I'm used to the friendly vibe at Santa Clara, but this place has overall good service! Parking is bigger here overall. I'm invested to visit the other locations!

What I love: - They always innovate on their specialty lattes, they have new flavors that change with the season, but they also keep their original menu intact as well. Pretty much anything you get is solid in taste. Their lattes always have that slightly malted vanilla note which I prefer. Today I tried their new Savannah Mint & Bourbon latte which was quite refreshing. Would recommend getting it light-sweet, it would be overly sweet if you didn't in my opinion. Also the barista recommended to get it iced which was a good call. - Plenty of seating. The place seems small, but somehow they have a lot of seating between the indoor and outdoor spaces What could be improved: - The WiFi is always spotty at this location. I've been forced to use my hotspot multiple times - Their food offering is pretty basic and the pastries aren't amazing either. Would be nice to see them have more options either made in house or from a better bakery. The bakery they use currently is pretty mid. What can't be improved, but kind of sucks (LOL): - The parking lot is a nightmare! It's always full and whoever designed it was not very smart (to put it politely). It is so congested and in some parts there is no way 2 cars can pass, let alone back out of the parking spot itself! The coffee shop is too popular for this parking lot basically.

I've enjoyed a few of their specialty seasonal drinks but those have never become core menu items. I am talking some really great items like mango matcha's, strawberry matcha's, lavendar latte's etc that I have thoroughly enjoyed but their core menu is not something I ever want to order from. They have really great stuffed croissants but those are also seasonal! My office catered pastries from here once and I still think about the spinach and cheese croissant we had alll the time! I have never seen it in their case though. And while they are really great, ~$8 for a pastry is highway robbery. Parking here is very difficult and I think most people who come here live nearby enough to walk. You gotta hope to get lucky with some street parking as they have no designated parking areas. I've had several odd cashier interactions where I am met with blank stares and no dialogue as I order. Today took the cake, however. When I ordered, the cashier looked at me confused. I picked up their menu and pointed to the item one I wanted. The cashier had to come find me again after placing my order to confirm it again. They have a seasonal chai listed and 'can be made into a pumpkin chai by request.' There was confusion around it coming with a shot of espresso and because my stomach has been completely wrecked since I had it, I think the they must have put two shots into my drink. In the past 5 hours, I've used the restrooms 4 times and eventually projectile vomited. I don't drink coffee often and had this in ONE sitting. I realize this is a unique experience as I do not drink espresso often but wanted to share so you all understand how strong their coffee is and seeing as how its across SCU, it DOES make sense why so many people come here. Upset is the least of what I feel right now and can confidently share I will not be back. Shits fucked up. No pun intended
