    Meat Lovers Omelette
    Justin G.

Well, I have not tried this place before. But I don't know if I will try it again. The service was slow, even though there was only two other people who ordered 5-8 mins before us. They got their food but Ours came out late. The omelette was overcooked/dry. It wasn't fluffy. It was hard. For the price I think it's a little over the top, but that's just my opinion. Try it out for yourself.

This was a great place to hang out with my friends and our kiddos, super chill vibe. Service was great: food arrived quickly and our server was very nice. My younger kiddo had the kids breakfast plate and especially loved the maple butter on her pancake. The older kiddo had the Nutella French toast. I had planned to eat whatever they didn't eat since I had already eaten before coming here, but both of them destroyed their dishes they loved them so much there wasn't any left for me! The kids have asked to come back, so I'd say this was a success!

This restaurant was my little friend's pick, and overall it was a nice, easy stop. It's clean, the menu has something for everyone, and the service was genuinely great. The vibe itself is pretty simple -- nothing bad, just not very memorable. The food was good, and the mimosas were honestly the star. If I were nearby again, I might choose a spot with a little more atmosphere, but this one was perfectly fine for a casual outing.

We ordered two different salsa chilaquiles online. Eggs and cheese is $6 so next time I think I'll just order plain eggs. The beans, though, were creamy and delicious! Both salsas on the chilaquiles were mild. There were so many interesting drinks on the menu--I want to visit in person next time!

Very good! Excellent chilaquiles, salsa verde with chorizo were amazing. The beans tasted just like home and the fresh juice and chocolate Abuelita hit the spot. It did take a little bit to get the food but you have to understand we went on a Saturday morning at 11am. Be patient, the amazing team of people show how much they care and the good matches the ambiance, superb!

The foods are good, a little pricey but we enjoyed it. My friend finished her food. I also finished my Benedict. Loved how my eggs were perfectly cook. I also like that there was parking.

Ideally, I'd give this place a 2.5/5. Papas and Eggs in Mountain View offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The restaurant has a relaxed and chill vibe with plenty of sunlight blessing the indoor dining space. The place wasn't busy when I went there in the morning. Their portions are generous, but the dish I got felt imbalanced and lacked appeal. Please note that I got a to-go order. I tried their eggs benedict with salmon. The poached eggs were cooked well, with runny yolks, which is a must for any benedict. The salmon, on the other hand, smelled a bit fishy and wasn't particularly flavorful. The hollandaise sauce was a bit on the thin side and could have used a touch more tang. The potatoes that came on the side were seasoned well but not cooked completely. I wish they had given a side of fruits or something else instead of such a big portion of potatoes. They could have perhaps packaged the food differently such that the hollandaise sauce was kept separate from the English muffin. By the time I got back home, the muffin was already soggy.

Very cute place, enjoyed our Lavender Latte. My husband had the bacon burrito and they were able to fry it the way he likes it and my sister had the mushroom omelet. Portion sizes were very generous. They both said they enjoyed their order. My order was the Steak and Potatoes. The flavor was good but I will probably order something different next time. Server was awesome.

french toast - a freebie to try

You know, I've been happy with Denny's, IHOP, and a bunch of other standard American Diners. But honestly, Papas and Eggs in Gilroy really set a really high bar. The Chilaquiles was perfect with just the right amount of crunch. The Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs was likewise pure perfection. If you don't want a bougie option with special toppings or any of that other stuff but simply a properly made best possibility type of situation with these dishes, Papas and Eggs was it. Perfectly crispy texture where you want it to be crispy, perfectly soft and filling where you want it to be piping hot and soft and filling. This was a good set meal that I was able to have w/ my friend during standard brunch hours. Very happy w/ this spot and will go again.

Papas and Eggs Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Papas and Eggs

Do they still serve gluten-free pancakes or gluten-free waffles for both?

Do you still have bottomless mimosas?

Yes as of Sept 2024. $35, I think they were only good for 1 hour. Not sure who can drink 4 mimosas in one hour.

    Is there parking available?

There is a small parking lot on the side of the building.

    Are they dog friendly?

    Outdoor seating yes

Are there vegan options on the menu?

What I can remember is chilaquiles without eggs, and burritos without cheese. And mimosas, of course ;)

Okay but... a hotel coffee shop with good matcha? That's the plot twist I didn't know I needed…read more We stopped here on my way out of Santa Clara heading to San Francisco -- it's conveniently close to a bunch of other spots, and since it's tucked inside a hotel, parking was ridiculously easy. (Underrated luxury.) Now, the hotel itself? Visually... a moment. It looked like someone invested serious money into it, but the design felt a little space-meets-startup-meets-what's-happening-here. Some elements felt elevated, others felt a bit makeshift. I genuinely couldn't tell what the theme was -- futuristic? celestial? boutique-on-a-budget? I'm still processing. The front desk team was clearly well-trained and knowledgeable -- they had every answer, every stat, every rate breakdown ready. But the warmth? Missing. I was hoping for a little storytelling since I'd never heard of the hotel before, and instead got a very matter-of-fact "we've been here five years" energy. Efficient, yes. Inviting, not quite. But let's talk about why you're really here: the coffee shop. Completely different vibe. Two people working, both genuinely happy, welcoming, and quick. We ordered a latte and a matcha to go -- total was about $22, which made me blink for a second -- but then I tasted the matcha. Oh. This wasn't the overly sweet, dusty-green situation you sometimes get. It tasted clean. Real. High-quality. The kind of matcha that feels intentional. I love Firehouse in Marin, but this? This was closer to serious coffee roaster-level quality. Smooth, organic-tasting, beautifully balanced. You could tell they care about what they're serving. Branding was strong, the space was cute, and I could absolutely see myself sitting there with my laptop pretending I'm writing something important. We grabbed ours to go, but it had that easy, airy, "stay awhile" energy. Would I book the hotel? Jury's still out. They don't have an in-house spa and mentioned bringing in third-party services for certain amenities, which made it feel a little less full-service than I expected. Would I go back for the coffee shop? Without hesitation. Delicious drinks, easy parking, quick service, and a vibe that actually makes you want to come back. Sometimes the side character steals the show -- and in this case, it's 100% the matcha.

Because, once again, I was distracted by the quality of the food, and there would be no way for me to do anything else, but to eat! Today, I was in the mood for something more than a salad (much as I wanted to preset what I had the first time coming here, I made a concerted effort to order something else...), thus I chose the Forager Flatbread. It took less time to make this time (roughly about five minutes after ordering), and when it came out, I marveled at how it looked like a work of art! Just beautiful! Each piece of herbed formage blanc flatbread had a nice, crunchy bottom (but not blackened) and a slightly tanginess, with a a good amount of "hen-of-the-wood" mushrooms, sweet roasted garlic and a bed of arugula. My, oh, my! My first bite was a multi-level extravaganza! The crunch of the bread, followed by the aroma of the herbs and arugula, then the saltiness of the cheese, the sweetness of the roasted garlic, the earthiness of the mushrooms - all came together as just a wonderful work of culinary art! This being my first time eating today, my saliva glands just fired off at first bite, causing a bit of intense pain from too much saliva shooting out.
