The Mole Chilaquiles came with the usual fried tortilla chips, refried beans, cheese crumbles but generously covered with sweet mole sauce (chocolate and spices). Sooo gooood! It also had chicken but chicken was dry. I added over medium eggs (for extra charge) and this was a better protein pairing for this dish. The Crab Benedict was a crab patty and a had a slightly spicy sauce instead of usual Benedict hollandaise sauce. Good but not as special as the Mole Chilaquiles. Also came with potatoes which were pretty good and nicely seasoned. French Toast was good. They serve it with cinnamon butter and syrup. The Tres Leches pancake were good, too. Stack of 3 pancakes sitting in a generous pool of milk sauce with strawberry slices and whipped cream on top. Not much to note about the actual pancakes but they were soft. Lemonade is refillable for $5. Reasonable pricing. Food took about 15 min to come out. Very limited parking spaces. The food was lackluster, the service mediocre and the establishment was freezing cold inside, even though I was wearing long pants, long sleeve shirt and a hoodie. I had bacon & eggs and subbed a pancake for the bread. The pancake was rubbery, but the cinnamon butter was tasty. The bacon was VERY crispy and had an odd taste/texture. Came here with some family and was excited to bring them to a place I hadn't tried. The food was pretty decent, but service and prices weren't great. Between 4 of us we got a breakfast burrito, breakfast sandwich, chicken fried steak, and eggs benedict. They were all tasty and I don't have many complaints. For service, we had to flag the team down for everything. For menus, then again for coffee, then for water, then for utensils. We're very gentle customers so usually don't ask for stuff unless we really want it. That said, we had to flag them down each time we wanted condiments or a refill of any drinks as they didn't offer any refills. That said, the servers themselves were very nice and polite, so think maybe they just didn't see us as it wasn't a very busy day. For 4 of us ordering 1 entree each and 1 coffee each, it came out to $120. That seemed like a lot given this place isn't a "fancy" breakfast spot and more of an everyday diner. The restaurant has a relaxed and chill vibe with plenty of sunlight blessing the indoor dining space. The place wasn't busy when I went there in the morning. Their portions are generous, but the dish I got felt imbalanced and lacked appeal. Please note that I got a to-go order. I tried their eggs benedict with salmon. The poached eggs were cooked well, with runny yolks, which is a must for any benedict. The salmon, on the other hand, smelled a bit fishy and wasn't particularly flavorful. The hollandaise sauce was a bit on the thin side and could have used a touch more tang. The potatoes that came on the side were seasoned well but not cooked completely. I wish they had given a side of fruits or something else instead of such a big portion of potatoes. They could have perhaps packaged the food differently such that the hollandaise sauce was kept separate from the English muffin. By the time I got back home, the muffin was already soggy. read more

If you don't want a bougie option with special toppings or any of that other stuff but simply a properly made best possibility type of situation with these dishes, Papas and Eggs was it. I ordered chorizo omelette with potatoes, their roasted potatoes and the roasted potatoes were good. A while back, I wrote a not very flattering review of Papas & Eggs, and I promised to review it again. Today was that day. We arrived at about 12:20pm on a Monday to find a mostly empty restaurant, with only a handful of tables occupied, inside or out on the patio. One server, doing multiple jobs, and one cook. We were told to sit anywhere. It took 13 minutes to get menus, and another 11 minutes to get our order taken. Three more minutes to get beverages. And 17 minutes to get our food. I ordered the "meat lovers omelette" which felt like a half order. One slice of toast. Over-cooked hash browns. Missing ingredients in the omelette. Over-priced at $23. My sweetie order the breakfast bacon burrito, and found it good but "nothing fancy". She complained about the $17 price for a modestly sized burrito with a small cup of fruit. About 25 minutes after our food arrived, we were presented the $55 check. No beverage refills for either my coffee or her iced tea (although the menu says free refills for both our beverages.) I was handed a tablet device to review the bill and pay. The device couldn't read a credit card, and I had to manually enter the card number and other information. I was also charged a 3% surcharge to use a card. When we left about 1:30pm, we were the last customers in the restaurant. We won't be giving Papas & Eggs a third try. read more

The service wasn't the best. I ordered a waffle without butter and powdered sugar and they had added sugar and flipped it so I wouldn't notice, but I did notice! And I sent it back and they took forever to bring a second waffle out that the rest of my food got cold. They didn't offer to bring me a new plate with WARM food. PARKING SCAM!!! I'll began with the review of the actual restaurant first. Three of us went to brunch yesterday. We had eaten there a few times a few years ago and couldn't remember why we hadn't been back in quite a while so thought we'd give them another try. Not horribly busy so we took an outside table. Took a while for waiter to bring us menus, no greeting, just laid menus in a pile on the table. Came back took our order and did bring our drinks fairly quickly. Unfortunately, that was the last "fairly quick" part of our meal. When another server finally brought out our food, she had two of the three orders correct but then seemed very confused that we told her that the third item was not what we ordered. A few minutes later she returned with the third order and quickly left. We had to get the attention of yet another server to request silverware. My wife had ordered a pecan waffle with a side of bacon. After telling two other servers that passed us that she had not received her bacon, they finally brought it out just as she was finishing her waffle. Original waiter quickly appeared to have us pay. There was no paper bill, he just handed me his scanner and stood there watching as I put my credit card in. He grabbed it out of my hand before I had a chance to check how I wanted a receipt. As he started off I asked if I could please get a receipt. He said he would go get it. After sitting there a couple of minutes, I walked inside. The woman asked what I wanted and I told her that I had asked for my receipt. She said, "He's working on it". I could see him standing in the kitchen talking with the cook. She walked over to the register and logged in, pulled up our order, and printed the receipt. If all of this wasn't bad enough, we walked out to the parking lot to discover that our car had apparently been towed. I started back into the restaurant and ran into waiter #1. I told him that our car had apparently been towed and I asked if he could tell me who I needed to call. (Actually, another customer came up and asked what kind of car we had. He had seen two cars being towed when they pulled in. ) Waiter told me he would get the manager for me. (Surprise that NEVER happened!!) In the meantime my wife and our friend found a phone number on the very poor signage and after calling that number, Mt. View Police, I was given the number for the towing company. $645 and an Uber tide later, we had our car back. In reading other Yelp reviews later, we discovered that we are not the only people who have had a our cars towed there. Can't help but wonder if the restaurant is not getting a kick back from the towing company! While we were waiting for our food, we did start remembering why he had not returned after our first couple of visits a few years ago. As we were getting our car out of the impound lot, we also recalled that when we had first tried the restaurant they had a sign on an easel warning that cars could be towed and so we had parked across the street. Again, possibly a reason for lack of better signage is because of the money they are getting back from the tow companies. Needless to say, we will not be back! read more

The menu is what you might expect for breakfast. My food was only lukewarm when it came out. My pancake was rubbery. The friend next to me ordered chicken and waffle and the chicken looked and tasted like a deep-fried-from-frozen patty. We joked about how rock-hard it was. All except one of us ordered water and I had to constantly ask for refills of mine as it was in a smaller glass than the rest - no water refills were offered to the rest of the table (and everyone noticed). I walked inside to request iced water. Our server automatically charged a gratuity (probably b/c of the number in our party) but he did not tell us so some people tipped extra without knowing. My friends and I like to try new places and meet up here. Half way of Redwood City and Santa clara since we all live kinda far. I had yelped it here and decided to try it. My sandwich was good My friends plate was a bit acidic the Chai latte was great and the carajillo coffee was surprisingly good. It had cinnamon whiskey and I wanted to try it. The mimosas were good too I had a guava mimosa. The waiters and staff were so attentive. One of my water glasses was dirty so they took it back. I will be going back to try different items from the menu my children want to try the French toast so we shall go and see how that goes. Other than that it is good. Especially for the cheap $4 French toast, you should definitely order that. I got the brioche French toast sandwich which is AMAZING the French toast tastes super yummy and in combination with the egg and savory insides it's just heavenly! The eggs Benedict Florentine is also good, but it is a bit less standout. They also give you a cute bag for takeout! Bad: It is a bit of a wait for the food here, so be ready to wait. Parking: I walked to this location from down the street but from what I saw they have their own parking lot with a decent number of parking spaces. Environment: Casual environment, especially nice for brunch. They have indoor and outdoor seating (dog friendly). Staff are friendly but not quite as attentive when seated outdoors and there aren't too many other people but I was ok with that since I just wanted to read my book while eating. The server also got my drink order wrong even though I repeated it twice and she repeated it back to me. Food: I ordered the chilaquiles birria with egg. It tasted good but the tortillas soaked up all the juice right away so it became really soggy pretty quickly. Price: While there was a good portion of meat, I feel like it was a bit overpriced at $26 for the food especially for brunch. I would've expected something closer to $17-20 and wouldn't have minded just having slightly less in portion. Would I go back? It's pretty popular so the limited parking can be a challenge especially on work days. On Sunday we parked across the street in the vacant office building lot. The place was about 80% occupied and we had to wait a bit to get a table, service staff was limited for the amount of customers. We had lengthy wait times for ordering, getting our food and etc. The menu is somewhat limited compared with other venues, mainly featuring eggs and potato, but that's what it's called. The wife had the Ham and Egg burrito and I had the scrambled eggs and linguica with hash browns. The burrito was hefty and good but could use more ham and less potato. My order was pretty standard with a split and butterflied grilled sausage, the hash browns were good but nothing outstanding. The linguica was dry and the casing was tough but that is typical for Mainland Portuguese Sausage. I long for the Hawaiian version of linguica with it's juicy cubes of pork fat. This is a great place for breakfast entree's, especially if you like eggs, like Benedicts. Parking is limited and when we were there, so was the wait staff for longer wait times. The food was good but it seems like they could do something special with the potatoes to make it more memorable, that's in the name. This place prefers payment with plastic, but I always pay exact change cash. So if you would like to do the same, stock your wallet with the appropriate denominations for a quick exit. We've been planning on trying this place for a while! I'm pretty sure they expanded the menu a bit since first opening, so glad we came more recently. We came for weekend brunch around 11AM and waited about 20 minutes for an indoor table (plenty of outdoor seating, but it was a very chilly day!) They have both tables and booths indoors. I don't know why more brunch places don't serve espresso drinks and am always delighted to see them as an option. They had both cappacinos and lattes, and my cappucino was pretty good- with a nice rich espresso flavor. I like that their menu has a little of everything- some omelettes, benedicts, pancakes, waffles, burritos, chilaquiles, salad, sandwiches etc - but wasn't too overwhelming either My Veggie Burrito was very flavorful. Sometimes vegetarian entrees are bland, but this burrito was great- I loved the fried hash inside. The tortilla did get quite soggy and didn't hold well though, so I ended up eating most of it with a fork. My husband's Chilaquiles were soggy though, so he didn't end up eating much of it, but the side of beans it came with was good. The kids enjoyed their Chicken Tenders though, and you can definitely taste the freshness. The batter was unique as well, I'm not sure what was in it exactly, but I could see little parsley flakes. Stumbled here after trying to find a place to wait out my car maintenance at Dean' Automotive, and this place is right across the street! Brunch/lunch with diner vibes, had the canadian bacon egg benedict and a hazelnut latte (just syrups for the lattes - they have caramel, pumpkin spice and vanilla as well). Benedict was solid (wouldn't say it was standout though), and potatoes were balanced, well seasoned and not too overpowering in any direction. The coffee wasn't bad but not as notable as a signature third wave coffee spot, but does the job for a dose of caffeine with breakfast. Service was top notch, the waiters/waitresses checked on me consistently every 10-15 mins to see if I needed anything, so I'm super appreciative of that. We went to this spot in the afternoon for brunch on a saturday and it did not seemed that packed. The ambiance was modern contemporary and refreshing to look at. However, the service was a problem the whole time we were there. We sat there for 15 minutes before the server showed up to get the order. 3 servers were all were just standing there in the corner and chatting. I made eye contact with them to call them and that is when they showed up. We ordered coffee, egg benedict with portobello mushrooms & veggie omelette with Canadian bacon. Coffee was cold the first time, so I had to tell the server to get a hot refill which he did, but again the service was really really slow. They forgot to bring the toast with omelette so we had to remind them to bring the toast. The hash browns served on the side was cold as well. The only saving grace was the taste.
