I'm picky about cardamom buns (my husband is Swedish), and the ones at GK Pastry are very good! The chocolate croissant was also very tasty -- there's a generous amount of chocolate inside. There's not really seating here -- no tables and just a couple of uncomfortably high barstools, so this is the kind of spot you pop into to get your goods and then walk over to the nearby park. The sourdough samples were very tasty. All the baked items here seem to have a nice moisture level and developed flavor. We'll be back to try out some of their savory items next time! read more

I am rarely out in the Mountain View area but I needed to pick-up something in the area. I did a search in bakeries in the Mountain View area and saw that GK Pastries had a high rating and reviews. I carved out time to visit the baker. I got to Mountain View early so I stopped at GK first. They had most of the baked goods available but still needed to finish baking the focaccia so I went to do my errand. I bought chocolate chip cookie, dark chocolate oatmeal cookies, oatmeal with raisins cookies, tomato and cheese sourdough, artichoke and truffle focaccia, mushroom and cheese focaccia, pistachio croissant, almond croissant, monkey bread and blueberry amaretti cookies, cinnamon bun and a loaf of sourdough country bread. All of baked goods were tasty, loved the focaccia and sourdough breads, the only letdown was the chocolate chip cookie, it tasted liked it sat out to long. The oatmeal cookies were very healthy and provably taste better with coffee, tea or a liquid beverage. I ate them as a snack during my walks so I didn't drink anything. The woman who helped me was nice. Quaint bakery. They had fresh warm samples in the morning when I got there. I was able to try out both breads that I bought. If I'm out in Mountain View again I will stop in and get some bread and focaccia, my favorites out of everything I bought. read more

We ended up taking home tomato cheddar sourdough, oatmeal cookies with dark chocolate, and a mushroom Foccacia. * The tomato cheddar sourdough is excellent with a spongy texture and tangy flavor. We sliced it and threw it in the freezer to enjoy on lazy days. *The oatmeal cookies were delicious especially if you love chewy soft cookies. * Mushroom foccacia - this was a large portion, so I'm glad I shared this with my husband. The bread itself was a bit too soft for my liking. I prefer my focaccia to be a bit denser and crispy. The toppings were great- fresh with some acidity. Theres private parking lot right in front. I've gotten pastries here a few times. Everything I've ordered has been very good to excellent. I thought the pistachio croissant was my favorite, but I had their monkeybread today and it was divine! Very flaky, not too sweet or syrupy and a perfect amount of cinnamon. The chocolate muffin was okay, but I prefer lamination. Their pastries are reasonably priced. I think they have sandwiches, but honestly I've never given them a second glance because why would I eat a sandwich when I can have laminated dough? Staff is helpful, friendly and polite. I went early in the morning and they had a variety of croissants to choose from, jar cakes, breads, etc. I grabbed an almond croissant, chocolate croissants, and a pistachio croissant. I didn't catch his name, but the gentleman who helped me today was kind and had great energy for a Monday morning! I didn't notice any seating inside, but that would have been a nice addition. The croissants themselves were really yummy! The almonds were nice and toasty and the croissant was lightly buttery and flaky. The person at the counter was very friendly. He offered me tastings of a few different jar cakes and shared details about them. I decided to get the tiramisu jar cake which was really good--rich and flavorful. Although a bit pricy, the portion was huge. Small bakery with amazing pastries, focaccia, and jar cakes! I first came here and got a slice of the focaccia of the day (which was a tomato and cheese one) and a pistachio croissant. The person working there asked us if we wanted it heated in advance, which was nice since we were about to head to the airport afterwards. The focaccia was delicious and soft. The pistachio croissant was divine. Good amount of crushed pistachios on top and the texture was great. I also picked up a jar cake, which I ate the next morning before leaving for a flight. You can definitely split the 8 oz one in at least 2 servings... eating it all in one serving was a bit too much, since it can be quite heavy. This one is definitely on the sweeter side since it's more of a cake. I came back again close to closing and got a cinnamon bun and pistachio croissant. I did come in with the expectation that they might be a bit stale since I came so late, but they were surprisingly not! The cinnamon bun was delicious and only $3.50. I came here around 3p on a weekday and there were many selections of bread, pastries and cookies available. I tried the cardamom spiral and it was absolutely amazing. The cardamom flavor is wonderful and not overly sweet. The pastry was baked perfectly. This is something I'd definitely come back for. I also got a pesto mozzarella focaccia and lemon oatmeal cookies. I thought I was being a glutton and decided to put some amaretto cookies back but I'm regretting it now. Focaccia was amazing and you get a good portion. The bread is so good and there's a lot of tasty toppings. The lemon cranberry oatmeal cookies were great too but I didn't realize they have white chocolate. They have a bread sampling station so you can try their different offerings. Soft and edible sourdough bread. Every bite we took starting from the samplers in the jars next to back wall and actual loafs we brought home truly enjoyable. A good friend of ours recommended this place and we just had to try it out. The lady behind the counter was friendly and helpful. She also had me try the pistachio cookies just to make sure I had a sample before buying and I enjoyed it as well. In addition to the half loafs of bread (also can be sold as whole), I brought a crab focaccia and apricot-raisin oatmeal cookies, we bought half loaves of tomato, jalapeño and country style bread. The store is modern and menu easy to read. Their displays of bread behind the glass counter is joy for a bread lover like myself- like a kid in a toy store. They also have discounted hours from 6-8pm where the breads go on sale 30% off. Yummy! Nice staff, delicious breads and pastries, everything made fresh daily. I absolutely love their sourdoughs and focaccia breads. Just happened upon this bakery and I was surprised how good it is. I was in the area and wanted to get some pastries for my wife. Was greeted by a friendly worker. I asked if there is anything he would recommend as I already picked out 5 jar cakes. He explained they are known for their breads. I took his recommendation and added a sourdough bread and several other pastries. All of which were delicious. My wife enjoys baking and she explained their sourdough bread was probably one of the best. We believe they use real butter and not shortening. Also used a lot of pistachios for their pistachio pastries unlike other places. Will definitely return and I understand why they have such high rating on yelp. read more

I tasted the tomato and cheese and was so good that I had to buy. The cream puffs were on sale since they were day old. They were amazing. The cream inside is addicting. The plain hugh croissant was telling me to buy it. Flaky and doughy, and bread inside. That beef samsa (reminds me of Indian samosa but not fried) was so tasty. I was asked if I wanted heated up and I declined. I sat in the car and ate it. It was so crunchy and full of beef filling. Good flavor. I am glad i don't live nearby. I would be broke. Lovely gentleman helping me. I warned him I was not ready. They had salads in the front refrigerator. I'm going to fast from baked goods for a month. I think I can last about a week. read more

The focaccia here was so good! I tried their mushroom, which had a good balanced mix of cheese and chopped mushrooms, though offering a side of tomato sauce for dipping would make it even better. The pear and blackberry dessert focaccia was a good combo, though personally I found the Nutella and sweetness a bit generous - but those who enjoy sweeter treats will certainly appreciate it. The bread itself had my ideal focaccia texture since I like high hydration bread - moist with a fluffy interior and crispy exterior. While the prices might seem high at first glance, the portions are very filling and worth the cost. One order of the focaccia was more than enough to fill me up, but I couldn't get a entre focaccia without also getting a dessert one. The service was friendly and attentive. DELICIOUS focaccia, the best I've ever had! All the flavors I've tried are great but the pesto is my personal favorite. Amazing new family run, neighborhood bakery! Where to start? Their take on monkey bread--sweet and sticky, nice cinnamon flavor. Surprise surprise, gooey walnuts at the bottom! The focaccia varieties is pretty outrageous too. The Viral Dubai chocolate is a crazy pistachio encrusted dark chocolate drizzled concoction. Ate the whole good sized hunk in one go, it was that viral. The berry focaccia is good as well. Truthfully, its big enough to feed a couple people, if you're into that. The croissants--plain, and chocolate. Nicely done, with nice swirled chocolate on the flakey outside, soft on the inside. They have napoleon cakes too. With and without pistachio. Visited on 2/14/26 around 2-3pm. We were picking up sandwiches next door and decided to pop in while we waited; I'm so glad we did! I honestly don't know if I've ever had fresher bread. The sourdough was chef's kiss! Perfectly crusty on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. I didn't catch the employee's name, but he was fantastic. Super friendly, welcoming, and spot on with his recommendations. I really appreciated that they had fresh samples of the day's breads available. He suggested the olive and cheese bread, something I normally wouldn't choose and wow, it was incredible. We ended up taking a loaf home and a couple of other items home. The jalapeño cheddar was just as amazing but had decided to pass since it probably would had been spicy for my toddler. It's a bit of a drive for us, but my husband and I both agreed that it's absolutely worth it. A hidden gem! I came here on a weekday evening and there were still plenty of fresh items here. I ordered: - chocolate mousse jar cake: yummy! Not much cake to it but I like the chocolate pearls -pistachio jar cake: yum!! I love pistachio. This was delicious - olive and Parmesan loaf: not bad, very subtle taste. Very frustrating experience. I purchased two TG2G orders from GK Pastry, and based on the description, I expected a selection of soup, salad, and savory items (like a pastry or dessert). When I arrived, the employee said they were out of soup and would give me rice pilaf instead. I understood they were out of soup, but I still expected at least salad and a savory item since that's what the description promised. I drove 20 minutes through traffic for this. When I questioned it, he told me it means "soup, salad or savory items," which is not what the listing said. In the end, I left with two identical orders of plain rice pilaf. I tried the rice today and it had no flavor at all--dry, greasy, and completely flavorless. 1 star for the food and service, very disappointing and misleading overall. I woke up this morning in the MTV with a mission implanted into my brain -- you need yummy pastries today. I got up before all my morning meetings and went on a hunt for one savory and one sweet pastry. Through yelp I found GK Pastry. Admittedly, I'd seen this shop a few times on Safeway runs but never thought to step in. Once you pass through the front door, the smell of fresh baked bread hits your nose - awh yeah. They have an array of fresh baked focaccia, croissants, and more behind a glass case. The service was super nice and patient as I took a look. I opted for one shiitake mushroom focaccia and one pistachio croissant. THEY WERE SO GOOD. The savory focaccia was fluffy and the shiitake provided a nice bouncy flavor bomb as you ate it. I feel so lucky to have this bakery in the South Bay. It is INCREDIBLE to say the least. What don't they have? Sourdoughs, cookies, jar cakes, focaccias, chocolates, and more. Highly recommend the following: - Tomatoes Cheese Sourdough Bread: You get the satisfaction of their sourdough but with a savory and sweet addition with the tomatoes and cheese. It blew my mind. I've gotten it twice now and they have consistently been perfect. - Jar Cakes: I've tried their Mixed Berry, Ruby Chocolate, and Apple Pie (preference in this order). Mixed Berry is my favorite so far--light and fluffy with a gentle tang from the fruits. Ruby Chocolate was pleasantly surprising; not heavy or decadent at all. Apple Pie was good but I thought the apple chunks were too raw. - Focaccia: I've only tried the Margherita variation but I doubt you can go wrong with any of them. The slices are HUGE and made from the sourdough bread so you get all the flavors. I couldn't resist and ate half of it during my drive home. - Cookies: My parents liked the oatmeal chocolate ones the best; not as sweet as the regular chocolate chip. The butter cookies are also very light and not sweet. If you can't decide what to try, ask for a sample. They let you sample EVERYTHING; the quality of service is insane. Came into this neighborhood shopping center off Miramonte and Cuesta. As a kid, I recall this shopping center which is close to St. Francis High school. I went to school in the neighborhood. Anyways I enjoy finding hidden gems especially within neighborhoods. This shop was fully stocked, organized with clear signs or labels, with many many sweet treats from around the world, imho. The kind gentleman behind the counter was very helpful in terms of showcasing items on the back wall to the ones on trays behind the glass. Friendly and excellent people skills (sorry I didn't catch his name) . He offered and I sampled 2 honeys from Hawaii (see picture for names and prices). Other items I saw 10 piece Dubai bar for $25 aka "Can't Get Knafeh of It" or Knafeh croissant with an array of flavors buns focaccias with different savory flavors shortbread cookies amaretti cookies baklava Sourdough breadsticks nut and/or fruit chocolate bars Samosas or a variation of stuffed pastry pockets I think, but not 100%, they make sandwiches too. i gave 4 stars bc the "bun" was very dry and crumbly. They also serve coffees. On website, I see crepe cakes (which I think I didn't see in shop) and jar cakes too. I just bought 2 items.
