    Savory lunch things
    Jamee S.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Super cute little bakery inside the market plaza.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Lots of variety for breads, cookies, sweet pastries and savory baked goods as well. They also serve sandwiches, quiches, and other lunch-type options. What makes them stand out is that they have quite interesting ingredients in their cookies! Their original chocolate chip cookies have apricots. Their double chocolate chip cookies have cherries. The cookies are huge (about the size of my hand) and they look amazing. You can tell. I didn't try the cookies until I got home and had dinner so about 7-8 hours later. Man, those cookies were still moist and delicious! Service is great! They also give out samples. I asked to try the Breakfast Bar. It sounded so good in the description with different grains, almond butter, and black sesame, plus it's gluten free. She gave me a big chunk to try. It was very good! I wish I had bought one. Next time!!

Really adorable pastries and bread shop tucked into the State Street Market. They also have some lovely sandwiches.

    Pork and Shrimp Mando

I ordered the pork and shrimp mando. It was pretty big and had a lot of filling, which was great considering the price point. Unfortunately, the flavor fell short. It also wasn't seasoned very well, and even adding chili oil didn't really save it. The person working that day was also not very friendly. Really limited eye contact and interaction, which stood out compared to the other food spots in the hall where the staff were really welcoming.

I had to pick up pizza in this area, and was hungry, so I stop by this bakery for a quick snack. They sell a variety of breads, salads, and cookies. I got the double chocolate chip cookie with cherries. This cookie was HUGE. I love how it's super soft and the cherries were a nice touch. It was a delicious snack :)

    Seeded Bred Loaf

I love the style of the pastries / breads here: dense, heavy, not too sweet, high quality ingredients, lots of seeds oats. If the aforementioned isn't your thing, then this spot might not be your thing :) When people complain about prices it's like - OKAY, you can't compare a small batch local bakery to prices you get at a big box store - the margins are completely different when you sell at low volume. I'm totally down to pay 3x if it means supporting the small guys and keeping these businesses alive. My wonderful mother brought back a sourdough currant scone and a seeded bread loaf from this bakery - the currant sourdough scone was wonderfully flaky and dense. I am excited to try the seed bread as avocado toast!

    Mushroom bun

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Small little bakery vendor inside a diverse food hall![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You choose a selection of items and the baker can warm them up upon request. This mushroom bun needed the sauce that came with it

Little Sky Bakery is such a gem in Los Altos. The breads are amazing--full of flavor and that perfect chewy texture (the olive and raisin-walnut are my favorites). Their cookies are huge and delicious, and the mandos are super tasty. Everything tastes super fresh and made with care. A must-stop if you love good bread and baked treats. Super friendly guy at the front who walked me through options and helped me pick multiple items.

Little Sky Bakery is located inside the State Street Market, a food court on State Street. I'm posting my review on this Yelp business page because it is the the one that has the correct location listed. However, I'd like to point out that the business name is "Little Sky Bakery" and the Yelp page has the name misspelled with an extra "E" between the R and Y in the word Bakery. You can't miss this bakery, it is the first place on the left after you enter the State Street Market. They sell breads, sandwiches, cookies and more. Cookies may seem expensive at $6, however their cookies are HUGE. I don't think my photo shows how large they are. I picked up a Caprese Sandwich, which had tomatoes, mozzarella, and pesto. It was pretty good! I would get it again. There was plenty of seating at State Street Market when I went there for lunch, on a weekday. Restrooms are available (and the restroom also has diaper changing station for the little ones). There is parking on the street or at nearby parking lots. I didn't have any trouble finding a spot.

The space is intimate, with only 8 counter seats, so you're served directly by chef Li. To my surprise, all of the seats were full on a Friday at lunch. I didn't want to drink too much at lunch, but they had a $29 sake flight of three 1.5 oz pours, which was just the right amount to pair with the sushi but still be able to go back to work after lunch! Pre sushi: 1. Pickled baby ginger: I love this stuff, and he was good about refilling it 2. Crab with Japanese citrus jelly and shiso: a generous amount of sweet, fresh crab 3. Ankimo: two pieces, served with wasabi 4. Signature octopus: massaged 1 hour and stewed 1 hour - very flavorful and tender 5. Steamed abalone: served over soba with abalone liver sauce 6. Seaweed shot 7. Chawanmushi with scallops and caviar Sushi: 1. Hokkaido scallop with yuzu and sea salt 2. Spanish mackerel 3. Akami: lean bluefin tuna 4. Kinmedai: golden eye snapper, torched 5. Isaki: 3 line grunt fish 6. Kelp cured black snapper, shiso leaf, yuzu 7. Chutoro 8. Saba: mackerel with kelp 9. Otoro: torched, topped with uni The scallop and kinmedai were the highlights for me. We also got one of the à la carte add ons: the hand chopped fatty tuna and uni hand roll. To finish: red miso soup At the end, you can watch the chef preparing the bento boxes, which was a good reminder for me to keep my eye out for the next available pickup. The fish was high quality, and the pieces were cut to the right size (I've been to way too many places with unappealingly large cuts). Each course was thoughtfully prepared, and pacing was consistent. For the quality and quantity of food, as well as the service and dining experience, this was a hot deal for $125 a person. We will definitely be coming back!

Wish there was a tiny bit more seafood but it was fresh and served on the hot plate which kept the food warm throughout the meal. Also tried the chicken karaage and veggie tempura.
