Wish there was a tiny bit more seafood but it was fresh and served on the hot plate which kept the food warm throughout the meal. Also tried the chicken karaage and veggie tempura. Flavor of the chicken was great but it was a bit chewy. It said it would take 20-30 min for the okonomiyaki but it felt like the food came out much quicker than that. If you're going to come here during dinner time on a weekend I suggest making a reservation because it does get busy. Parking can suck too. The workers were really nice and they accommodated our large group. The had interesting drink which I forgot to take a picture of. They also have beers by the pitcher. As for the food, I got all seafood, and the fish was actually pretty fresh. I got the salad and I thought it was going to be a small plate but it was actually a huge bowl made to share, so keep that in mind. I will coming back to try all the other stuff on their menu. Tons of reviews already so right to bullet points: - Yep, Rokko and Fugetsu are just two menus available at the same restaurant. Placed an order for takeout pretty close to when the had opened for the day. Server was kind and informative. Offered me a drink while I waited for my food to be ready. We got here early since we had kids but folks started to line up 15/20min before opening so we quickly got into line even though we came before them!!! Portions are big so order carefully lol. Kids love the udon here so we got two orders of the tempura udon, sushi rolls, like a unagi don dish, clams miso and we were quite happy with the food and portion. Always a chill place to go. This place has really good okonomiyaki! The flavors and taste of the Negi Tsukimi pork was really well done. It was also cool to see the many other options for okonomiyaki that they offered. Their menu was quite extensive besides just okonomiyaki as well, with a range of Japanese cuisines. The service is quick despite the disclaimer that okonomiyaki could take 20-30 mins, probably just depends how busy it is! Okay, I get it now. Two restaurants in one - Fugetsu and Rokko. We were definitely there to have Okonomiyaki (and modanyaki - the version with yakisoba noodles). We got the deluxe modanyaki, the unagi Okonomiyaki, the takoyaku with negi mayo, and the chicken katsu with negi mayo soy. The unagi Okonomiyaki has lots of unagi! Wanted to love the restuarant but just a little below expectation. Regret was the sampler okomanyaki, there were 4 types with seafood and pork and whatever else, but splitting into 4 means that it's smaller, and honestly they all taste very similar. Next time I'll just get a full size one, it'd be great! Otherwise, okomanyaki/modanyaki was on point. The potato cheese had crispy noodles, fire-y taste on cheese, creamy potato, super good. It's really rich but lacking some texture from meat, but it's vegetarian so no complaints. Yakisoba was just alright, lighter in flavor compared to the above. Wouldn't come here just for it. And takoyaki appetizer was disappointing, soggy, cold, all dough with a tiny piece of octopus. Came here for lunch a couple times over the past month to meet up with friends. On the last occasion the two of us split two dishes: * Hamachi Jalapeño Carpaccio * Okonomiyaki sampler The hamachi tasted very fresh and the complement of jalapeño, tomatoes and onions gave it refreshing and layered flavor. The okonomiyaki sampler was effectively 1 regular size okonomiyaki but with each quarter being a different flavor. I don't recall what the flavors were called, but tbh, they don't taste that different from one another imo. If you like okonomyaki, like I do, I think this is a great choice; especially if you're going to share with the table. Fugetsu is essentially combined with Rokko in downtown Sunnyvale, and even the menus for the two places are combined into one big menu. We've tried the food from Rokko in the past but decided to try Fugetsu's okonomiyaki and yakisoba this time around! There was no wait to sit at the bar at around 6:30pm on a Friday (table would have been a ~20 minute wait according to the host). Service was prompt and our food also came out in a reasonable amount of time, especially since the menu says to expect a 20-30 min wait for okonomiyaki and modanyaki. We tried the negi-tsukimi pork modanyaki (noodles on top of okonomiyaki) and the gyusuki yakisoba. The modanyaki came with green onions and an egg on top, and it was delicious. The flavors worked well together, the green onions added a nice freshness, and I really liked the crispy noodles on top! The yakisoba was also fantastic and the beef it came with was nice and tender. The shredded cabbage base sort of reminds me of hash browns. Wish we got the noodle version AKA modanyaki! Service was amazing, our server was so friendly and was constantly checking up on our table! Okay just a heads up --- this place is "inside" rokko Japanese restaurant I was so confused because I was looking for fugetsu signage. And when I mean "inside," i mean it's one restaurant. The menu for fugetsu is the back page of the menu of rokko. Same kitchen, dining space etc. you can also order from rokko while dining fugetsu and vice versa. I talked to the clerk at the front and he clarified with me about the closing of the Santa Clara location and moved it to this Sunnyvale location. My friend and I got two okonomiyaki -- my friend got the ebi mayo cheese okonomiyaki and I got the seafood okonomiyaki. It came out on sizzling plates and a utensil to cut our food. I liked that it came out hot with a slight char on some of the cabbage. Last time I had fugetsu, the sauce was too much and too saucey for me, but I'm glad that this time it was a good balance. The flavor is like a less sweet and not as thick version of teriyaki sauce. There were plenty seafood options in mine, such as scallop, shrimp and squid. I'm glad they didn't skimp. My friend said her okonomiyaki was good, but after awhile it was too cheesy. Lots of shrimp though Each okonomiyaki was about $17-$20 We were satisfied with our meal and it left enough room for a milk tea after. We went on a Saturday night and were seated within 10 minutes. I was pretty excited to go here, as not many places serve okonomiyaki, but ended up being pretty disappointed. Karaage (3/5): the portion is actually pretty big, but the karaage itself was whatever. It comes with a bed of sliced cabbage and the smallest dollop of mayo, so we ended up asking for more mayo. Negi Mayo Takoyaki (2/5): this was some of the saddest takoyaki i've ever eaten. they were dense and gummy with barely any octopus inside and the outside was not crisp at all. the balls were more like flattened ovals. we should've just gotten the regular takoyaki because this didn't come with takoyaki sauce or bonito so it was kind of bland. Cheetama Pork Okonomiyaki Modan-style (3/5): this was pretty dense, and i felt like they poured too much batter in, so the texture of the cabbage was lost. it wasn't very crispy on the bottom either, and overall it just tasted too salty. Overall, Fugetsu serves pretty large portions and has a very interesting menu, but unfortunately the food fell flat. The flavors felt like too much or too little, and the textures were all wrong. The okonmiyaki dishes are like Japanese pancakes, usually served on a table like Benihana. Okonomiyaki sampler (3/5): This dish came with a variety of four types of okonomiyaki, but I forgot each one. I don't know if it's because I didn't get it noodle based, but it didn't taste the way I thought it would. It tasted like a hash brown. Favorite spot to go to for okonomiyaki and skillet rice dishes! The portion sizes are great for sharing, and you can choose whether you want modan (or noodles) added to your okonomiyaki for a couple extra bucks. I ordered the deluxe meshi, which includes seared salmon, ikura, eel, and a raw egg that comes in a super hot bowl so you can mix it up yourself and enjoy the crunchy skillet rice. I have visited Fugetsu twice (although ordering a combination of items from Fugetsu and Rokko both times) and still stand by my 3 star rating. In my most recent visit, we ordered the Fugetsu special bento. I feel like the rest of the items from the bento ex. the okonomiyaki were from Rokko because of the lower quality food. The okonomiyaki itself was not bad, better than I remembered. The other items in the bento were kind of meh - beef gyudon had very little beef and more than 50% of it was fat; chicken kaarage was bland and not crispy; takoyaki was a little deflated; even edemame was super bland and tasted a bit sad. If I ever came back, I'd probably stick to just the okonomiyaki. And recommend others to do the same :) read more

It's a little confusing because it's located inside of another japanese restaurant but the address listed on yelp is correct so all good!
