Finger for size comparison - C05. Mini Pan-Fried Pork Bun(12) C05.
Eunice T.

I stopped by while I was on the way home from work - it was right before dinner time so I was the only one in there. I could see the ladies working on the dough from the transparent glass. I ordered the mini pan fried buns. It's more like XLB (mini soup dumpling) but panfried, so I think the translation is a bit misleading. They didn't lie and it's technically not a mis-translation, I was just thinking of a thicker dough type when it says pan fried bun. I was quoted 15 min. The actual wait was around 20 min, but it made sense Cuhs they gotta warm up the kitchen. The flavor was just okay. I like that it's still soupy. I also love the hot sauce that they included on the side. I'll be back to try their other stuff.

Came here on a weekend as me and my family were looking to try out a new Chinese restaurant with good bao. We were seated right away, but there was another table near us that kept coughing the entire time we were there which really made this whole experience unenjoyable As for the food, we ordered the pork Xiao long bao, Sheng Jian Bao, mini Sheng jian Bao, and the Dan Dan Mian. Pork Xiao Long Bao 5/5: Pretty good and probably their best dishes. Juicy and soupy inside with good skin texture Mini Sheng Jian Bao 5/5: Very good and easy to share. Bite sized pieces with a crispy bottom. Sheng Jian Bao 1/5: With how good the minis were you would also think the normal version would also be just as good. Unfortunately, I wouldn't even call this Sheng Jian Bao. The bottom has the fried color, but the whole thing was way too soft, it wasn't crispy or crunchy at all! Whatever dough they used to make these was not right. It was more along the texture of a steamed bun. Dan Dan Mian 3/5: Decent but nothing special. Initial presentation does not look appetizing but after mixing it's fine.

New spot on Cebtral and Remstorff by the defunct Hobbees with delicious fare and bigger menu than I thought 4.25 stars Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3 Cost to worth it rating: 3.5 (decent prices with baos or xlb ~$11, chicken/chow mein ~$15) Opentableable: no reservations Return worthiness: yes Highlights: - Black bean fish: more muted version than the darker black bean heavy ones but liked the sesame oil flavor and tender fish. 4.5 stars - Braised pork boo: tasty juicy ground pork in a soft bun. Bonus for the pan fried bottom ($1 extra). 4.25 stars - Combo chow mein: great noodles with bit of a smokey flavor. Liked the combo of beef, chicken, and shrimp. 4.25 stars - Shrimp pork wonton: great flavor and chili oil spice. I'm not a cilantro person so could've done without the pile o cilantro. 4 stars - Bao menu: substantial and different options I'd love to try like chicken and cabbage. - Door dash and takeout options Midlights - Xlb: decent version but skin could be thinner and insider soupier. 3.5 stars - General Tao chicken: standard run of the mill version. 3 stars Lowlights - So much on the menu that looked great, we didn't get to try half of what we wanted to for 2 people

Spectacular scallion pancake with egg (C14) and dan dan noodles (K03)! Surprisingly, contrary to its name, I enjoyed every non-bao dish more than the bao dishes. The baos were dry and lacking in 香味. Ordered 6 dishes on Uber Eats: - beef and scallion bao (ok, dry), - mini pan-fried pork bun (very tiny but good amount of meat, not 香), - dan dan fresh noodle (great), - scallion pancake (good), - scallion pancake with egg (perfect), - string beans and eggplant (ok, eggplant was fried but didn't taste fresh or crispy)

Our party of 4 was able to walk in for an early dinner on a Friday evening, beating the rush that later ensued. Despite being a relatively new restaurant, the decor channels the 80s - check out those tubular chairs! None of the dishes we ordered on this specific visit particularly stood out to us, but they were all fine, especially given the reasonable price points. Plenty of items to try on the extensive menu, so your mileage may vary...

A go to lunch spot for me! This place is consistently good and I'm excited to try more dishes off their menu. The dumplings are juicy and have the perfect ratio of meat to carb. Portions and prices are very reasonable as well. Love!

Fast service! Clean restaurant. Bathroom is through the kitchen in the back. Could be cleaner. The garlic cucumber salad was really good but strong! Dumplings were all very tasty. The bao are smooth, have a good flavor and a good meat to bun ratio. The garlic green beans were better than the eggplant green beans but we like eggplant so we got both. Next time we'll have to try a different eggplant dish. The fried rice needed more flavor. Potstickers had a thicker skin than I usually like but were good. We finished with sesame balls, smaller than usual but six to an order, and apple custard bao. They are so adorable, warm and messy! Hint! Tear them open and dip the piece in the center, otherwise it's all over your hands! We fed six people, spend under $200, so decent price. Almost everything came in sixes so it was perfect. Worth a try.

WOW. What attracted me to come here in the first place was that they were selling mini Shanghai pan-fried soup buns -- something I haven't been able to find anywhere here or even down in SoCal. I'm always on the hunt for them, so I had to try it... and wow, they did NOT disappoint. Each bun was perfectly juicy and flavorful, with that crispy golden bottom that makes pan-fried soup buns so special. The moment you bite into one, it literally bursts with soup and flavor in the most satisfying way. One perfect bite. I also loved seeing a lady in the kitchen working nonstop making the buns, XLB, and other baos from scratch. You can really taste the freshness and care that goes into the food. The stir-fried string beans and eggplant ended up being my husband's favorite dish of the night. So flavorful and surprisingly not greasy at all. The vegetables still had that fresh crunch and tasted amazing. Honestly better than versions we've had at many other Chinese restaurants. The sesame chicken was another standout -- super crispy and addicting. I was basically squealing with happiness with every bite. The noodles were great too and rounded everything out nicely. Service was friendly and the whole experience just made me so happy. We will definitely be back soon!

Incredible value I mean where else are you going to get pan fried buns and XLB for less than $10? They came out fresh and hot and there were well made. My main qualm was that it could have used a little more filling, but for the price it makes sense. My favorite was actually their steamed buns. We tried the pork, shrimp, and chive one and it was fantastic - fluffy with the homemade taste. We also got the stir fried string beans and eggplant and it was an excellent complement. The service here is fast and it was easy to get a table. Eyeing some of the other dishes that the other customers were ordering and their entree's looked really well portioned.

3/3/2026 Super Bao 108A N Rengstorff Ave Mountain View, CA 94043 I went here investigating on a Tuesday evening if they had Hong Kong style (crispy) Chow Mein. It's in an older dying plaza at Rengstorff and Central. Parking was abundant. The interior is nicely remodeled and clean. This place primarily does take out and delivery so getting a table was fast and so was the service. I was disappointed when my server did not know what my Hong Kong style Chow Mein request was so I reviewed the menu to find something else and chose a first timer A05 Spicy Beef Tendon appetizer. This is a cold dish of thinly sliced braised tendon, red bell pepper and cilantro. It was not spicy and could use more garlic and ginger for me. The tendon had a nice interesting crunchy texture but the flavor was lacking. Think tendon salad. I might come back to try the Beef Chow Fun just to compare with other places.

Looking for some dumplings after getting some matcha and this nearby place popped up. Little did I know but it was the grand opening. Inside has ~40 seats and although there weren't many people inside, there were a lot of takeout orders so our 15 minutes was closer to 25 minutes. The siu mai has water chestnuts to give it a little crunch and some people like it, others do not. I did not mind it. The mini soup dumplings were very cute and are a great way to have a little bit of everything. The chow fun was good, it wasn't overly greasy. The soup dumplings were juicy and flavorful. Overall, it's a solid place for dim sum and dumplings in this location. Go check them out!

Really good bao. Everything else is fine. If you come here for bao, the soup dumplings are good too, noodles and soup are fine. Bao skin so delicious, filling is hearty. Mini soup dumplings were in my opinion better than the regular. Noodles weren't very springy, not handcut style. More like rice noodles, softer bite not my style. Cucumber salad a bit pricey. There was a wait right after we sat down (weekend of CNY) as its a smaller shop.

Pork and Cabbage baos | @ifoodiejenn

Food is GREAT! and super affordable. I knew this spot was going to hit after seeing all the old asian grandparents dine here LOL. We went for a work lunch with 7 people and they were able to accommodate for us, even though it is a tight space. It was pretty much almost full at 12PM on a Wednesday. The space is small but functional... definitely not somewhere you'd go out for a nice date, but it's definitely giving "hole in the wall" vibes. Service was actually really good! Everyone was super helpful and nice to us, from getting our order and making sure we got everything we needed. Our group ordered the 2x Pork and Cabbage baos (6 pieces per order), 2x Pork Soup Dumplings (xiaolongbaos) (6 pieces per order), Garlic Noodles, Kung Pao Chicken, String Beans and a teapot for the whole table. The total came out to be $100 INCLUDING gratuity - which means it was only $15 per person! - Pork and Cabbage baos (4/5) - these were good but I definitely wish there was a bit more filling inside it! - Pork Xiaolongbaos (5/5) - great pricing AND it was super delicious (lowkey better than DTF) - Garlic Noodles (3/5) - these were pretty okay and standard for garlic noodles - nothing too special and lowkey looked pale LOL usually there's a bit more color from the other sauces/seasoning, but it was just heavy dose of garlic - Kung Pao Chicken (5/5) - these were hella tasty, with a kick to it from the red peppers - String Beans (5/5) - absolute banger - most of the people at my table said this was their favorite Overall, super great portions, pricing, and flavor. Definitely will be coming back!

Original pork soup dumpling. - Six pork soup dumplings are placed inside a round bamboo steamer basket lined with parchment paper. The dumplings are shaped with pleated tops and are arranged in a circular pattern. The basket is on a dark-colored table, with a black plate and a white dish partially visible in the background. The setting appears to be in a restaurant, and the caption indicates they are original pork soup dumplings.

We enjoyed every dish! The chongqin spicy noodles, the salt and pepper shrimps, the sizzling cumin lamb, the fish in chili oil. Yum yum yum! We ordered the hottest version but it was not too spicy for us - it was very flavorful. The fresh cut red chillies they give you, was really spicy - the red bean spicy sauce was just right. We enjoyed the cool beers with the spicy food. It's a unique ambience for a Univ Ave restaurant- it's just a Chinese kitchen serving good food - like you came to a home and got served really well. Will come back again with more family members. Ps: another surprising thing - we were a party of 6 and they didn't automatically charge us the tip - I took care of them - because I was super satisfied and happy with my meal!

This is probably the only Chinese restaurant around here with such an inviting outdoor patio, which makes it perfect for us since our dog babies can relax too. The menu strikes a really smart balance between authentic Sichuan spicy dishes and more Americanized Chinese classics, so there's something for everyone. The signature spicy fish fillet in flaming red oil is a must-try -- bold, fragrant, and so satisfying it might have just saved me an expensive flight back to China. The chili oil wontons are my personal favorite starter and never disappoint. This is an easy repeat spot for us, and we'll definitely go back around CNY days.

I was searching for restaurant that served peking duck and after reading the reviews, this place…read moreseemed like a great place to eat at. I called them and they picked up right away and were able to accommodate our large party of 15 for a later date. We opted for a private room (semi-private) fyi it's not fully enclosed. They told us the minimum food & beverage is $800 to rent that space. We pre-ordered 2 ducks before we got there and I recommend if you plan to get any of the specialty MP items such as cod, lobster or crab to also pre-ordered in case they run out. Here's what we ordered and yes we had so so much food leftover since trying to meet our minimum! Roast Peking Duck ($78) 4/5 They roll it out on a cart and slice it up in front of you. Comes with thin warm pancakes little plates of toppings (cucumbers, green onions, sugar). Duck skin was crispy and the meat was tender. After that they deep fried the bones in and toss in a chili sauce and made a duck clear soup broth as well. That was really refreshing broth to slurp up. Honey Walnut Shrimp ($24.95) 4/5 These were massive! HUGUMOUS shrimp nicely fried and tossed lightly in the sauce and came with perfectly candied walnuts. Fried Shrimps with corn in salted egg yolk ($32.95) 5/5 I really like food in salted egg yok. I think they use the same size shrimp like the honey walnut shrimp. Nicely coated in the salted egg you along with pieces of salted egg yolk corn. This was one of the best dishes I had. Cumin Lamb $22.95 (4/5) I don't usually eat much lamb but this was really tasty. It wasn't gamey at all and the meat was cooked tender and slight spicy. XLB $14.95 (4/5) These were huge too! It comes with 6 and yummy piping hot soup inside. Dry-Fried String Beans w/garlic $16.95 (4/5) Everyone enjoyed this. This was the only dish we ate all of. Orange Chicken $18.95 (4/5) Nice chunks of fried chicken tossed in the sweet and tangy orange sauce and fresh orange slices. Sweet and Sour short ribs $22.95 (3/5) This wasn't was I was expecting. It was the really tiny pork bones and tasted caramelized sugar not really sweet or sour? I think they put in the wrong order. Fried boneless chicken with explosive chili $18.95 (4/5) If you like fried spicy, really spicy chicken get this. Pumpkin fried with salted egg yolk $26.95 (5/5) The pumpkin pieces were sliced thin and covered in the salted egg yolk. This was really good. Braised sliced pork belly w/preserved vegetable served w/buns $28.95 (4/5) The pork belly was super tender in a delicious broth. This was tasty as we put them into the buns to eat. Steamed black cod $128 (MP) 4/5 I think this as about 2-3lbs. Steamed perfectly and the fish meat was tender and really tasty. Pinot wine $128 (4/5) They only have like 2 selections of wine it was either this one bottle of pinot or this one bottle of cab only. So if you are picky about wine, you should probably bring your own and pay corkage fees. 10 steamed rice $20 The service was really good although one dish they brought out the wrong one and took it off the bill. They cleaned up the table for us since we brought in a cake to celebrate. Overall, I'd come back there to eat. The food was delicious, a little pricy but hey its, in Palo Alto and the food portions were worth it.
