Amazing Katsu really shines where it counts: the katsu itself. Both the chicken and pork katsu are consistently excellent--crispy, perfectly fried, and still juicy inside. No heaviness, no grease. Just very solid comfort food done right. The double meat katsu does not come with curry sauce, even though the name and the photo make it seem like it does. What actually comes out is a lot of cabbage, a small amount of rice, and no curry. You can order curry sauce on the side, but it's a very small portion for the price--more like a dipping sauce than something you can really pour over your katsu and rice. Because of that, we usually end up making our own curry and rice at home to pair with their katsu. I personally skip the premium tonkatsu since it's a bit too fatty for me, but the regular pork and the chicken are both excellent and dependable. This spot was definitely unique, they operate out of a ghost kitchen so it's only pick up and it's a little complicated but once I got the food it was good. This place was a bit far from my house but the first time I got it, the katsu stayed crispy the whole time. I honestly liked it a lot the first time that I came back to get it again the next day, but it tasted less fresh and crispy the next day, so a little inconsistent. I would say a bit watery to substitute the oil with. With that the Katsu sauce is typical and good, but a bit underwhelming, too light for this thick and juicy stuff.
