    Chicken Katsu

Takeout-only spot operating out of a ghost kitchen. I recommend ordering ahead online (be sure to select the right location, there are two!) My bf and I tried the pork loin katsu and chicken katsu. The pork was a bit dry, but the chicken was juicy. I appreciated the vented containers, which helped prevent the katsu from getting soggy. The tonkatsu sauce could have been more tangy. It was on the sweeter side

AK operates from the Sunnyvale Food Hub. I'm a sucker for trying Chicken Katsu Curry from virtually any spot in my area. Online ordering and pick up were very easy and clear. My order was ready in about 10 mins. Overall, the food and portion size were just ok. Frankly, it's pretty tough to beat Ramen Izakaya in terms of taste, portion size, and price. My one recommendation is to ditch the wasabi and replace it was pickled radish.

We read Yelp reviews so we ordered online to avoid having to wait, and it worked! Our food was ready shortly after we arrived. This location is a pick up location only so there wasn't anywhere to sit. We ended up eating in our car however we were not provided with any utensils. We gave this place two stars because although the food tasted good initially, it was very heavy and greasy. We felt very bloated and felt like the oil that was used was most likely a cheap oil which made the whole meal not as enjoyable. It got to be too much and I didn't even want to finish it. The food was also very average and it didn't seem extraordinary. When we have katsu in Japan, it doesn't feel this way. It feels fresh and the taste is enjoyable until the end. Overall, it is not worth coming back for us.

Located along Evelyn Ave right alongside Central Expressway, parking is limited but availability usually and should open up quite quickly since each parking spot has a 5 minute limit. Pork loin katsu (4/5): good serving size and balance of rice, katsu and salad. The katsu wasn't bad. Crispy exterior but was a bit mushy. Ordering was done online but you can also order there. The wait for the food is about 20-30 minutes. Overall, Amazing Katsu

Came inside and was very skeptical since I've never ordered from a multi-restaurant owned building! Found it very cool. I tried ordering on the Kios but it glitched out so I recommend ordering online instead. Ordered the meat lovers combo & my fav was the chicken instead of the pork! Only downside was that they forgot to add in the curry I ordered for extra $5. The food was definitely very good but one sauce was definitely not enough for all the meat. Food came out in about 15 minutes which wasn't too bad. Came at lunch time and the parking was easy.

Ordered most of the menu. All was pretty good but liked Pork Tenderloin Katsu the best: very tender.

Dark kitchen with solid katsu super close to my house. 4.5 stars due to stellar customer service. Food: 4.5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: n/a Cost to worth it rating: 3 Return worthiness: yes Eve award: best katsu in the area Highlights: - Pork tenderloin: fave of the menu--and we pretty much ordered the entire menu. ;-) Fully breaded chunk of meat that was very tender inside and not greasy. 4.5 stars - Pork loin: tasty strips of standard katsu with a bit of fat on the end for flavor. 4.25 stars - Chicken: tender and pure chicken flavor, but prefer the pork. 4 stars - Shrimp: long meaty shrimp did the trick for the seafood lovers (aka me). 4 stars Chicken - Cheese katsu: a layer of thin pork breading with a vat of cheese inside. I thought it was fun, but others weren't as excited. 3.5 stars Midlights: - Pickup process: my first time at a dark kitchen so was bit confusing. You scan your order info at the tablet and then it says to pickup at the counter. The app said my order was ready but there wasn't anyone at the counter. When I finally got a hold of someone they said it is ready but I still needed to wait. After a while when I heard noises on the other side, I scanned again and a locker opened with my food. Lowlights: - Order wasn't quite right--but I got refunded right away and they were very nice and apologetic about it as the menu recently changed. People make mistakes, but good customer service is so hard to come by these days and greatly appreciated. Enjoyed this nearby katsu takeout spot and would order it again.

My wife and I just devoured our signature combo, and I couldn't wait to share a review. A close friend delivered the meal to us since we recently welcomed our newborn, and it was such a delightful treat! The portions were generous, the sauces were full of flavor, and the Katsus were thick, juicy, and perfectly cooked. The panko coating was light and crispy, just how we love it. I also really appreciated that they thoughtfully cut the box to prevent the Katsu from getting soggy. I'll definitely be ordering more for my birthday this Friday! With so many people traveling to Japan, it's exciting to see new local Japanese spots popping up and raising the bar for quality!

Amazing Katsu is correctly named. The katsu is amazing. Perfectly crispy. Tender meat. I found something in my food that shouldn't have been in there - which is the one knock we had against the place. Don't know if being a "takeout/delivery only" place affects the cooking and preparation. But if the katsu wasn't so tasty, I would probably be angrier at it. Still, the chicken / pork / pork tenderloin katsu + gooey melted cheese katsu were all delicious - and all were consumed in its entirety.

The server cooks the BBQ for you. Initially it felt awkward with the waiter parked at our table giving us practically no privacy. when the table next to us were seated and the waiter bounced back and forth between the two tables, it got slightly better. Had similar experience in Korea but there the waitress would give us space and only stop by for a minute to set things up or to flip the meat. The banchan was great. One good thing with the waiter being there all the time is that getting refill of the banchan was easy. The meat quality was top notch. I would skip the samgyeopsal and try the pork jowl next time. Yes, pretty sure we will be back. The one disappointment was the mul-naengmyon. When in Seoul, one of our best meal was cold naengmyon with BBQ. The soup was so refreshing, it was just amazing. Not here. It was practically dry. Thus the 1 star deduction. Tipping practice was POS thingy that was left on the table, waiter stepped away. Very nice. It is expensive, but I think it is worth a visit or two, particularly for special occassions.

It feels just like a warm hug in a bowl! Their cold noodles, both spicy and non-spicy versions, are refreshing and perfect for cooling down summer heat. We also almost always order the mo deum soo yook for extra protein. It's a combination plate with boiled beef brisket, tail, and tendons. You will have to season them yourself with salt and pepper, but beef is always so soft and tender. I highly recommend ordering this only if you're dining with a group of 3 or more because the portion is huge! After finishing your meal, they'll serve you a yakult, super yummy and great for digestion (super thoughtful of them) They're busy and almost always have a waitlist, especially during peak dinner hours. From my experience, the longest I've waited was about 45 minutes, but normally it's only around 20-30 minutes. There's a boba shop nearby where you can grab a drink while waiting. Overall, I have nothing to complain about with this place. Try it once and you'll understand why everyone loves it!

The decor is a little dated. Service was efficient and met expectations. We ordered Wang Mandoo, LA Galbi, and a Cold Noodle Combo. The Wang Mandoo were described as king size boiled dumplings with beef, pork, and kimchi, and the sizes did not disappoint -- indeed very huge, even larger than the mandoo I've had in Korea. The meat was tender and overall very tasty. The LA Galbi came out as large slices of BBQ short ribs and were tender, juicy, and flavorful. The cold noodle combo came with cold noodles in broth plus bulgogi. You can pick other protein but that's what we chose. The cold noodles were refreshing and the noodles were chewy and bouncy. The portions were fairly large. The bulgogi was probably the most disappointing of all the dishes we had. It was tender beef but lacked some bbq flavor. I appreciated the wide variety of Banchans that were brought out to our table. They also gladly refilled the banchans as needed.
