We freakin love tobannggg! The aunties totally take care of you and their prices are so reasonable. Ambiance is a bit hole in the wall but brings you to korea. I can say their food is so consistent. They will refill your banchans and take good care of you! Thank you Tobanggg!

Love their banchan, honestly a great selection. Very good bang for your buck honestly and great service. They gave us a free steamed egg on the house! Love this place

There are many great Korean restaurants within this plaza, and ToBang is one of them. On a weekday evening, this restaurant was almost completely full. My friend and I were able to get seating immediately, and I love how the menu is organized into different meal sets. We tried their Special-A set and got an additional soup (kimchi jjigae). The meats we tried were pork belly and brisket. Both the brisket and pork belly were sliced thin, and they were delicious when grilled! There was a variety of banchan, along with cheese corn and seafood pancake. The kimchi jjigae was spicy and hearty, completing our meal. We could have eaten less and taken some leftovers as the portion size was generous, but my friend and I ended up eating to our hearts' content.

Been coming to this place for years now, so this review is long overdue. I just went there with my spouse and a friend from out of town so this is my most up to date experience. Every time I come here I'm starving. I order a size down for the group I'm with (ie: if I'm with 3 ppl I order the set for 2) and we all leave stuffed with leftovers. Service is great, fast and attentive. Free bonchon refills make the meal more worthwhile. Cups and utensils are all metal, chopsticks are disposable. Meat is good quality and quantity for the price The sets include fewer items than they did back in the day but it's all good; I am still full when I leave. They have renovated the place with better fume hoods and they've expanded so I feel like the improvements in ambience compensate for the changes. We ordered the 1-2 ppl set, plus kalbi and an extra tofu soup. With tax it was $105. Came out to $35 a person. Very worthwhile I will be back, this place is open on Christmas on New years day fyi! Pics are post prandial, I am not great at grabbing pics beforehand. I will improve!

We came here on a Friday night at around 6:30 and surprisingly did not have to wait at all. We got the two meat option, with bulgogi and brisket and added a beef and tofu soup. The food came out extremely fast and the bulgogi was huge. We opted for the kimchi fried rice, which was okay in my opinion. I do wish they gave larger portions of the side dishes used to wrap the meats like the radish, lettuce and rice paper as we did have to ask for refills a lot but I did appreciate that they came to help cook the meats. The tofu soup was pretty tasty too, though the meat was pretty tough. Overall, I generally prefer AYCE for the price but not a bad option to settle your kbbq craving.

ToBang is a gem I had no expectations for. Picked this place on a whim for lunch and was disappointed to find that it wasn't AYCE. My surprise when it was better than I thought. Banchan here was out of this world! Everything was a slap of umami, from potatoes, radish, fish cakes, japchae, and seaweed. Table set up was magical and I can't talk enough about how good the banchan was. The sets we ordered also came with seafood pancakes and those hit the spot too! When the meat came we got straight to business. You get a few choices but I recommend getting the bulgogi. It comes to you already cooked so you don't have to deal with the wait while the meat cooks which we all know of all too well. Bulgogi was also amazing on a bed of onions on a hot plate. At the end, the also gave us some yakults for our gut health! I couldn't ask for a better lunch. The servers were also the kindest, I felt like family was serving me. Like I finally had my own ajumma. They were so quick with serving water and sides. They really cared about us and whether or not we were enjoying our meal. They were flying through the restaurant and their hardwork is very apparent. God bless you aunties!

Came here several times throughout the years, but giving a review for the most recent visit on the weekend. We had a party of 9 and called ahead to make reservations. When we arrived, our table was all set - place settings, sauces, cups, water. We ordered 2 of the Special-C. Everything tasted so good - the banchan, the meats, the steamed egg, the seafood pancake, the ramen, the kimchi fried rice, the galbi jjim, the tteokbokki. The food kept coming and coming. We had to keep making room on our table to fit everything. They cooked the meats right in front of us on the grill, and they were always so attentive! They kept coming back to refill our banchan without us needing to ask! They also were so generous and gave us an extra steamed egg on the house, and an extra ramen on the house too! Felt like royalty! Loved the hospitality and the special attention they gave us. They even gave us some kimchi fried rice to take home! So sweet!

This has always been our go-to KBBQ spot! On this latest visit, I especially appreciated the great customer service, speed of service, and quality of all the dishes! They revamped their menu sets to be more straightforward for first-timers, and I appreciate how they take your order before you sit down to ensure they keep things moving quickly. There is never a very long wait time, again due to how efficient they are with running the restaurant. Some of my favorite staples here are the spicy BBQ chicken (not too spicy for my weak self and packed full of flavor,) bulgogi, seafood pancake, and tofu soup. The portions are on the bigger side in my opinion, so if you're on the fence about getting that extra meat dish, I'd go without it and just order more if you still feel hungry. All in all a solid Bay Area KBBQ institution!

ToBang has been around for a while, and like many people, it's one of our go-to KBBQ spots in the area. It's not AYCE, but the meat quality is always solid. I'll admit, I didn't really understand the hype at first many years ago, but after trying other places nearby, I totally get it now. It's a no-frills, quick-in, quick-out kind of spot. They're super efficient -- there's almost always a line, but they keep things moving without it feeling rushed. You order by set type depending on the number of people, which makes it easy. The seafood pancake is delicious, and for meat, the brisket is our go-to which never disappoints. I love that they often give out little extras like corn cheese or mini tteokbokki alongside the banchan! There's always a wait on weekends, so make sure you go early enough so you don't have to wait too long.

Great food for a good price. My party made a reservation 30 minutes in advance ahead on a Saturday lunch. Parking here is horrible though! Make sure to accommodate for that on a weekend. We ordered the set B which came with 3 meats from a selection. We opted for the beef belly, pork belly and for $9 extra, the galbi, which came cooked already. They refilled our side dishes and often checked up on us. Only concern I wanted to express was one of the servers seemed a little pushy/rushed us when ordering. Other servers were really nice and checked up on us a lot. Otherwise, food was good.

4.5 stars for food 5 stars for service These women working here work SO hard and it doesn't go unnoticed. They're running around making sure the waitlist moves quickly, refilling up our banchans and waters, and constantly checking in on us. The KBBQ is so so tasty, and the service is just impeccable. This is my go-to KBBQ spot. I always get the Special-C and get Bulgogi, Brisket, and Pork Belly, and I always leave feeling so full! Parking can be tough since it's a busy parking lot.

I came here at night, here's my experience: 1. Ambience (4/5): the restaurant was very clean, cozy and had a casual style. There was a lot of seating when I came. I think this place will be a nice place for some big parties. 2. Service (5/5): all of the ladies were very nice and welcoming. My server was the smallest one and also the sweetest. They were very attentive, they checked on my table regularly and refilled my banchan whenever I wanted. Good service! 3. Food (3/5): - Korean pancake (4/5): it was crispy on the outside but soft in the center. The portion was quite big for one and it had a generous filling. The filling included: squid, something was yellow and I supposed it was sea urchin, some green onions,... The taste of the pancake was quite bland, but thanks to that, I could really taste the seafood inside. Don't worry, the sauce on the side goes really well with those pancakes. It was a great appetizer! - Beef tofu soup (3/5): personally, the taste was quite common, there was nothing special. One plus is that the soup was packed with beef, but one downside was they were quite dry and not tender. - Banchan (3/5): there were 7 banchans were served on my table. I wasn't really impressed with the banchan here. But I liked the potato and fish cake. Overall, the staff here were very nice and welcoming to their customers. Next time, I'd love to come back with my friends to try the Korean BBQ here!

Banchan - corn cheese and tteokbokki @rosyeatssj

I like coming here for their special menu sets. We normally come on a weekend night and they take our order at the entrance after we tell them how many people. You need to be ready with your order. If not, I recommend you read the menu outside the window before going in. They do always try to upsell you though. It is a rushed experience though. You may be sitting right next to another party but they have plexiglass divider. We normally get Special B with 3 meats (bulgogi, spicy pork and brisket) but every time we get pressured to get Special C with 4 meats but we decline. The special comes with seafood pancake, assorted banchan including lettuce, daikon and rice paper for wraps. They will refill these banchan. Usually there's corn cheese and sometimes tteokbokki included. You get a choice of Kimchi fried rice or steamed rice. We usually get the kimchi fried rice and add on a steamed rice for extra. We also add on a mixed tofu stew for $8. The brisket is cooked at the table while the bulgogi and spicy pork come cooked on a hot sizzling plate. Not the highest quality, but good bang for your buck and we're always left feeling full with leftovers.

No we do not buy MSG and put it in our food. But some of our soup dishes may have MSG because we do put in beef and seafood base powder in the the soup.

There is no cooking at the table for outdoor dining. We cook the meat inside and bring it out to you. As of last week, we do have indoor dining for groups of four or less. Best to make reservations for indoor and outdoor dining.

The sun shone high, the breezes blew gently, and it was busy with lunch goers that day. I ordered the tri-tip sandwich with a side of coleslaw and got myself a glass of water. Then I went outside to the patio where families and friends ate their lunches while their dogs looked on. The patio was sheltered from the street and provided a quiet place for community to gather over good food and drink. It would be a wonderful spot to enjoy my meal. My name was called, and I went to get my sandwich. The first bite was excellent! Juicy meat slices accented with the robust, savory, light sweet notes of smoked California oak wood. Fresh buns buttered and lightly toasted on the flats. Brought together as a well-done sandwich, every bite was savory meat and spiced rub, sweet barbecue sauce, and light crunch of toasted bread. The coleslaw was finely chopped cabbage tossed in a creamy, mildly sweet dressing, with a dusting of cracked black peppercorn on top. A welcome refreshing side to my tri-tip sandwich, the coleslaw cleansed the palate and balanced out my rich meal. The tri-tip sandwich and coleslaw sure paired up to pack a delicious punch. The location that we went to is located next to Maggiano's Little Italy in Santana Row on Olin Ave. There is a free 2 hour parking structure across of the restaurant where my boyfriend and I parked at. We came during their Lunch Specials (until 4pm) and Happy Hour (from 3-5:30pm) which worked perfectly as we wanted something smaller in portion compared to the dinner portions. We started off with drinks. I got their Pig Ol' Bitties Blonde Ale, and my boyfriend got their Friday Beer & Shot special of This Little Piggy Went to [Mark]et with a 16 oz Dirty Little Pig IPA and a shot of Benchmark whiskey. My fault for having him get a whiskey shot on an empty stomach, though HAHA. He did like how smooth the whiskey was at least! We shared a 2-meat BBQ Lunch Combo Plate, and honestly, we should have gotten 3 meats because of how tender and delicious everything was! We got their Tri Tip and Sliced Brisket with their Garlic Mash and server recommended Sweet Potato Tots. Ahhh, everything was so good! Aside from the tender, flavorful meats, the two sides, especially the garlic mash, were sooooo good. We both loved everything! It was definitely a great choice coming during lunch as we were quite full after ordering one of their happy hour shareables of Chips & Queso (kind of pricey even for happy hour in my opinion for chips and cheese). Honestly wished we got their Chili Cheese Fries or their other fries which were the same price than just chips and dip LOL. But it was a good hold over food with us drinking a bit (at least for me). Shoutout to the only server who was working on a late Friday afternoon as she was doing her best to accommodate everyone + trying to clean up the previous tables. It was kind of sad seeing that the other workers didn't help bus the tables in my opinion. Overall, a great place to watch sports and have some good whiskey as this restaurant is known for their whiskey selections! The lunch BBQ exceeded our expectations, and we would definitely come back for another lunch special meal but probably with 3 meats this time!

It wasn't that busy,,…read moreyet there were no waiters around for long stretches, and the lady working the checkout/ drink fountain was surprisingly rude and an awful attitude Also, tipping in advance through the app doesn't help, good service can be easily forgotten when the staff knows the tip is already locked in. Overall, still a good spot, but the service needs attention.

Best BBQ by far in the Bay!…read more Ribs.. on point Collard Greens.. on point Corn bread.. yumm (but they can be a little bigger) Mac n cheese.. great portion (could be a little more creamier) we also ordered the banana pudding, which is super yummy. We had the seafood gumbo, not too spicy, but spicy enough and it was good with big portions of seafood and sausage with a scoop of rice over it. Ordering was easy we scanned a barcode put in our order and got our food within 10 minutes. Great customer service very clean and while we were eating, we could see that the employees put a lot of care into cleaning the tables and seats. Plenty of parking in back very spacious. They have overhead fans, but no need to turn them on because the restaurant was cool and airy not stuffy or hot. The waiters or servers always checked up on us to make sure that we were OK and if we needed anything else. This restaurant knows what they're doing! Added to one of my fav spots!

I decided to try it in person as it was less than 10 minutes away from my house. Firstly, I immediately wanted to try their skewers. The grilled chicken skin skewer was my top pick as I love peeling the fat off of fried chicken. I'll admit I was a bit disappointed as it wasn't as crunchy as I expected. Pushing that aside, I still enjoyed it. So if you order that, expect less of a crunch and more of softness. Tasty nonetheless. The beef skewer was delicious. It was very tasty and it went very well with the Fried instant noodles. The fried instant noodles were full of flavor and I truly loved it. I highly recommend this combo. The bone narrow personally was super tasty & I loved the bread it came with. It was honestly the best combo of flavors. 10/10 recommend. Food was tasty and filling 10/10. The guy who was in the front was extremely kind and attentive. He made us feel very welcomed and appreciated. I'll definitely be coming back to eat here again.

The rose lamb was especially tender, and the rest of the skewers were solid across the board. Ordering through a QR code was smooth and convenient, too. Overall, it's a great place to grab some beers and enjoy a variety of skewers.

RESERVATION/HOST I made a reservation for 3 at 7:30PM on a Saturday evening. I'm glad I planned ahead because, upon entering, there were about 5 parties waiting to be seated. My party was greeted warmly and was quickly seated after my reservation was confirmed. SERVICE Very prompt and professional service. The BBQ meats were cooked consistently, and every request was accommodated. FOOD Chungdam focuses on delivering high-quality meats for your Korean BBQ experience. The banchan was delicious! I was surprised that three spicy raw baby crabs were served. To be honest, it was my first time trying it despite hearing about the hype. It paired pretty well with rice. The dressing and condiments were perfect. I appreciated that salt was provided since we ordered all non-marinade meats. The fermented bean curd dip was my favorite. The seafood pancake we ordered took a bit longer to arrive, but it was delicious and crispy! The seafood was cut into perfect bite-sized pieces, so you get seafood in every bite. -USDA PRIME 차돌박이 100z - Cha-Dol (Beef Brisket, Thinly Sliced) -USDA PRIME 생갈비 16oz - Seng Galbi (Non marinaded Prime short rib) -Seafood Pancake Overall, the Korean food was delicious, and the customer service was excellent. We were even greeted when leaving. They offer kimchi for takeout in jars, available in 16oz and 32oz sizes. I particularly enjoyed the kimchi and had it refilled during dinner, so I decided to buy a 16oz jar to enjoy at home.

Yangnyeom Galbi : 10/10 just such an incredible cut of meat marinated with the most fragrant sweet soy. It was impressively tender and so easy to eat. Jul Mul Luck : 7/10 the meat was marinated really well, but the meat was definitely chewier than the galbi. Still a solid option. Additional notes on food: I can't believe they provide raw marinated crab as a side dish!! Wow it was incredible and such a nice perk that makes this restaurant stand out. They also provided a pumpkin soup appetizer and two slices of leek pancake. Service: 9/10 There was one server who was really on top of cooking our BBQ, but there was another server who didn't bring us our included complimentary soybean stew with our two orders of meat, even after we asked. I was disappointed.
