I was working in Santa Clara area so decided to try the local fare. So this place is located in a strip mall on the El Camino (next to FedEx). Ample parking. I chose the CC Chicken Dupbop. Their dishes are customizable so I chose it to sit on top of Egg Rice (which also was on top of some shredded cabbage). I chose the spice on the chicken to be lemon pepper (non spicy option) and Angry sauce drizzled on top (which is flavorful and just enough spicy). This was listed as their best selling. Bcuz many photos had the Corn Cheese, i decided to add that on as a side. Did I need the .99cent mac salad add on too? No, I would have been full without either side, But did i enjoy them and glad I tried, yes! It was my first time there so I went for it. I have some Santa Clara favorites and will add to my list of places to go when I'm working over here. Our direct flight to SJC always lands so late that the only places still open are In&Out, Jack in the box and K-bars. Rice Junky to the rescue! This cute eatery (it didn't feel too much like a bar, which was great-you could bring kids) plays vibrant Kpop videos on large TV screens, has funny neon signs on the wall, and serves a solid menu, which you can access on the iPad on your table. The menu is pretty extensive and includes mandoo, Korean ramen (It said instant ramen), popcorn chicken variations, fries, udon, tteokbokki, and other interesting items. As the name suggests, everything is carb-centric. The CC Chicken deserves a paragraph on its own. I don't know what CC really stands for but other ppl say it means crack cocaine chicken because it's addicting. You can order it alone as an appetizer, over rice as a dupbap dish, etc. and you can choose your sauce. We ordered it as an appetizer and then again for dessert. While I think this place is more for the college/young professional crowd, I didn't feel out of place being old enough to be their parent. Absolutely exceptional chicken taste with crunchy breading and marination, delicious mac salad, and I recommend the egg fried or kimchi fried rice. I admit, I am a Rice Junky too..... I love Rice! I had this biz bookmarked on many of my trips out to San Jose but never made it, until this recent trip ( May 2025). I am glad Rice Junky has a closing time of 12 am. The location is perfect, was close by to where we were staying at Milpitas. The decor is fun too, the message posted all around is funny and cheesy, look around while you wait for your food/drinks, you will see what I mean. hehe. Ordering was a little confusing, it took me 20+ minutes to figure it out, You order via touch screen, same exact ones like at Chili's. This is a first to see at a Korean business. I wanted to order a dish I saw on posted on Instagram but I couldn't find it and I couldn't get help. I ended up getting something else. We just got a ramen dish ( can't live without Korean ramen noodles!) and since I am a Rice Junky, we got the side order of Kim Chee fried rice and egg fried rice, and order of the CC chicken with cheese. I wanted flavored Soju which they were out and not a fan of plain soju or beer so we didn't order any drinks. After we got our orders in, the food came out pretty quick. The verdict, loved everything, I wish we could order more to try but we were there close to last call and the food we got sufficed. Yeah honestly it's pretty impressive to have a semi-affordable Korean gastropub in the bay. Late night Korean pubs are actually one of my favorite types of restaurants. Being able to get food like Korean fried chicken, seafood pancake, tofu soup, etc to go with Soju or Beer is honestly pretty godlike. The only problem is the vast majority of these places in the bay are overpriced. No shade, but places like Daebak, Tin and Pig, and Soo Ja are all quite expensive. Rice Junky has you covered. Their CC chicken rice bowl has a generous portion of Korean fried chicken and rice, all for under $15. It's great. Looking back, the parking lot is pretty cancer, so I'd say the venue and ambiance could be better, and the service is pretty average, but overall I'd say Rice Junky is justified!! read more

As not even the next 20 minutes passed, tables opened up and we asked if we could reconfigure and we were told no, even with approval from neighboring tables to make a change. We then proceeded to order food and eat our meals which were fine. Upon closing out and paying the tabs, we realized that auto-gratuity was included, even though we didn't all have a chance to sit together!!! This was a horrible experience on the whole and even amidst decent food, we likely will not return as a result of the huge failure on several fronts for customer experience. If you do go with a bigger party, proceed with caution and be ready for pushback or to be forced into split tables due to the size of the building and them needing to turn tables for a profit. It was a bit of an odd occurance to go. There were a lot of seating, the staff was nice to welcome our party (12 people) but it was a struggle to let them seat us while we were still waiting on a few people to arrive. They also warned us to order our food on one tablet at one time. We thought it was odd, but we realized the food came out incredibly fast. The inside was decorated with Korean pop idols and celebrities. They had large TVs showing kpop dances and neon signs in korean and english pushing for drinking. Definitely a bar/dinner spot and not a lunch spot! Maybe I would come back again at a later time of day. I had gotten to try their CC chicken bowl, CC wrap, and rose tteokboki. I think teh tteokboki was okay, but I felt it was a bit expensive for the amount I got. (Over $20??). The texture of the rice cakes was good and there was a similar amount of rice cake to fish cake. It is a little bit spicy, but the creamt texture was great. The CC wrap and CC bowl had the same components inside, but somehow the CC wrap tasted better. Maybe it was that with the wrap, you taste it all together versus small bites throughout the bowl. The wrap was a normal, flour tortilla and went well together. A lively and cool spot for Korean pub food. I've been here twice and will definitely be back. It's a nice place to bring friends because of their cute K-pop and funny neon sign decor. You order with an iPad at the table, which is quite convenient. There's a large parking lot right outside, although you cannot look into the restaurant from outside. Service is solid. TV screens and music are all K-pop too. read more
