Impressive, affordable late night option for Korean eats! I love that each Rice Junky location has its own lane, as the one in Fremont is geared toward the high school students across the street (and features takeout kimbap, sandwiches, etc.) while this spot feels more like a casual after work/late night hang catching up with friends over soju and shareable plates. We ordered the seafood pancake, CC sizzling plate with cheese corn, egg rice, a fish cake stew, and tea. The stew was the best dish of our already entirely solid lineup.
We were driving around looking for a late night snack and decided on Rice Junky. We've been to the Fremont location before, but wanted to try this location. The parking can get crowded but overall, it shouldn't be a problem. A Korean fusion restaurant with a cool ambience with mood lighting, house music, and neon signs. Order via table kiosk. The service is friendly, thoughtful, and very attentive, especially from the owner/manager. Haemul Chun, $16.59: Seafood Pancake (4/5). The pancake was thick and loaded with seafood and green onions. It was served with a soy ponzu sauce. I appreciate that they open late. Come check them out! Support your local business.
If you're looking for a late night food spot with delicious food, drinks, and deals then look no further! They give a free welcome drink with the purchase of any other drink. They also have tons of soju and beer deals. The food was super good! I loved the fried chicken and the skewers. The army stew and tteobokki were okay. The ambiance was fun with colored lighting, lots of funny signs on the wall, and kpop music in the background. Would def come back!
Love that this spot is open late nights! Got the CC chicken pan dish with cheese corn + a side of kimchi rice (slightly bland) - chicken was sweet and the portion size is more than enough to share. Decor inside is cool and service runs around fast to make sure all tables are taken care of (quite literally). Order on your own via the tablet too.
Rice Junky is best known for their delicious crispy chicken. There are lots of parking spots in this plaza. The restaurant itself has plenty of seating. The interior is also nicely decorated. Ordering is via kiosk and staff will bring food to your table. The crispy crunchy chicken comes with different sauces. The lemon pepper one is tangy yet crispy. The BBQ flavor is a soy garlic with a touch of spice. You can also customize the rice options in the bowl for free! The noodle bowl portions are really small in comparison to other restaurants. We've stopped by here a couple of times and the food has always been great! Portions fall in the smaller size, but are extremely filling. Only downside is we've been told by staff before to stop putting in separate/additional orders and to only order one time via kiosk. At the time, we were the only customers in the store so that was an odd request since the kitchen wouldn't have been overly busy. Overall, this is a great place for a quick meal with crispy chicken bowls!

Honestly, the flavors are bold and prominent. My partner and I have been here several times, and it's always a good time! SERVICE Quick and efficient. Usually, 2-3 staff members manage the house. ORDERING Each table has a mini kiosk, and it's great! You start scrolling and ordering. Food is brought out as it's prepared. FOOD Gonna list a few of my favorites! - Corn Cheese - CC Chicken Pan Dish - Ddeokbokki - Rose Ddeokbokki - Kim Chi Chun/Pancake The food is flavorful, and the portions are generous. We always share plates. There are many more on the menu I'd like to try, such as the ramen and soups!
We have been to the Rice Junky Katsu in downtown San Jose and we are a big fan of that location, so this time we have decided to come visit the Santa Clara location to try their menu. This place is more like a regular Korean cafe bar rather than the Izakaya style of the DTSJ location. The restaurant interior is cozy and staff are friendly. The taste & quality of their offering is adequate and the price is fair. In the future we probably visit the downtown San Jose more often.
Very vibrant and cute restaurant in Santa Clara. Rice Junky serves rice bowls with Korean fried chicken and other Korean dishes. I love the decor in the restaurant. It feels like I walked into a Korean pub/bar. The vibes are great. This review is mainly for the food. I got the CC chicken bowl and it came with rice and lettuce. The chicken was a bit on the hard side and felt a bit overcooked. The sauce was good though. I think it helped salvage the chicken a bit. Other than that, there's nothing that's too special about the fried chicken rice bowl. It's simple and tastes decent. It gets the job done for lunch. For that, I think I'm going to give it 3.5/5. It's decently and averagely good for the price.
Stopped by on a very random Saturday afternoon for lunch. Walked in and fell in love with the vibes! I definitely would've totally come here if it existed when I was younger and looking for a good time. The food was just okay. Very 3 stars-y, which is why I'm sticking with a 3 star review. The bubolgi ramen was basically shin noodles topped with couple slices of beef and Julienned green onions .. not sure if it's worth the whole $17 And the chicken and rice dish was just fine. It was like katsu chicken, covered in some kind of sauce that you get to choose, on a bed of shredded cabbage and rice. Nothing I'm dying to come back for. Server was nice though! I think he might be the owner?? He was the only one for the entire restaurant.
To be completely fair, I was a few beers deep by the time my friends and I got here so it definitely affected my perception of things. Interior is dimly lit with Kpop playing and Kpop decor all around with some TVs playing music videos. I let my friend order what they recommended. I believe they got the CC Chicken Dupbop with a double order of chicken. It was just the meat and rice over a bed of shredded cabbage. The chicken itself tasted good. It had a tangy sauce that covered it. Overall, I'd rate my experience a 6/10. While the food was good, the double meat portion didn't have that much meat. It was honestly what I would imagine a regular order should be. Also it ended up being over $20, which I thought was overpriced. They have more items on the menu, so I'd be willing to go back and try other items, but I felt that what I ordered was not worth the money
I can vouch for the pork and cc chicken here, it's quite delicious and super flavorful! If you are craving some warm, comfort food, I recommend coming here. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is because the portions are a bit smaller than what I would like can I can probably finish one plate in a couple of minutes, so if you come here with a big group, don't expect big portions like other nearby pochas My absolute favorite was the dope pork on the skillet, it came out sizzling hot and the Mac salad complimented it so well 8/10 CC chicken was crispy even though it was saucy, this was also delicious 8/10 The ddeobokki just tasted like every other dish you find at a Korean restaurant, not super memorable. If I were to come back I would get the dope pork
We doordashed from this place. The food was prepared in a decent amount of time. We got the kimchi friend rice and piggy piggy. The kimchi fried rice was very flavorful and had the perfect amount of spice. The piggy piggy was essentially bossam but with extra crispy pork. The pork was perfectly cooked; however there wasn't much variety in the dish. I did wish they had other sides like garlic and radish to add more flavor.
Cool spot! It is kinda what I expected when I saw "Korean pub". Kpop on the TV, cool lighting, and self-service ordering using an iPad on your table. It is pretty low-key and casual overall. The guy who welcomed me in and served was chill. I got their signature chicken bowl, which was hearty and tasty. It came with egg rice, some salad and a salsa like condiment. Overall, quite good.

My partner and I decided to give this spot a try after seeing it in the neighborhood, in addition to the fact that they have good reviews here on Yelp. They're open late and serve a variety of rice bowls & ramen. The staff are kind, friendly, & happy to help -- but orders are placed through the tablet at your table. There are fun neon lights that set the vibe & k-pop stars all over the walls. We tried the cc chicken & the RJ army style stew; The chicken was breaded & coated in their cc sauce. They give you the option to have an extra sauce on the chicken, or on the side. I chose the chili sauce (on the side, since I prefer to dip) and really enjoyed the bowl with macaroni salad & some fresh greens. The fresh salad was a nice surprise as I finished more of the plate! My partner really enjoyed their stew; the flavor tasted of fermented soybean, with various meats, cabbage, & served with noodles. The noodles looked like they were instant, but still tasted of good quality. They brought out a tabletop stove to keep the soup hot, and showed us how we could turn it off or lower the heat when we were ready. It was a cute & nice little touch that we really enjoyed~ Looking forward to coming back again to try more of the menu! read more

Really disappointing experience, mostly because of the service. We sat there for about 25 minutes with no food and barely any attention from the staff. Eventually we had to flag someone down ourselves just to figure out why nothing had come out. That's when we were told there had been some kind of system issue and our order never went through. What made it worse was that even after they said they would fix it, nobody followed up with us and we had to keep getting someone's attention for updates. I got the Dope Pork Pandish, and they did eventually bring it out, but by then I was already pretty annoyed. The whole situation could have been handled much better with even a little communication or attentiveness. Not a great experience at all. read more
HORRIBLE SERVICE. we ordered through the ipad and waited over 20 minutes with no food and no one checking on us. we finally had to call a waitress over ourselves, and she told us there was a system error and that she would check on our order. she never came back. so we just sat there waiting AGAIN with no update. like how do you tell us you're going to check and then just disappear?? no one even bothered to come back to explain what was going on. we had to keep getting their attention ourselves just to figure out where our food was. genuinely terrible service. read more

Our direct flight to SJC always lands so late that the only places still open are In&Out, Jack in the box and K-bars. Rice Junky to the rescue! This cute eatery (it didn't feel too much like a bar, which was great-you could bring kids) plays vibrant Kpop videos on large TV screens, has funny neon signs on the wall, and serves a solid menu, which you can access on the iPad on your table. The menu is pretty extensive and includes mandoo, Korean ramen (It said instant ramen), popcorn chicken variations, fries, udon, tteokbokki, and other interesting items. As the name suggests, everything is carb-centric. The CC Chicken deserves a paragraph on its own. I don't know what CC really stands for but other ppl say it means crack cocaine chicken because it's addicting. You can order it alone as an appetizer, over rice as a dupbap dish, etc. and you can choose your sauce. We ordered it as an appetizer and then again for dessert. While I think this place is more for the college/young professional crowd, I didn't feel out of place being old enough to be their parent. The husband had enough of the Kpop music and dancing by the end of dinner, but I love KPop . OH AND so many delivery drivers came to pick up orders while we ate, so this place is on one of those DoorDash/delivery services. read more

I've been here twice. First time around, we ordered Westside Chicken pandish, corn cheese & some fiesta ramen. We absolutely loved everything. The ramen was full of flavor and a good portion for one person. The Westside Chicken had a bit of a kick of spiciness to it. It went very well with a side of macaroni salad. We absolutely loved the food so much we decided to go again. The second time, we ordered CC Chicken pandish, Dope pork Pandish & of course, another side of macaroni salad and corn cheese along with egg fried rice. Once again, the food didn't disappoint whatsoever. All the food so far that we've tried hasn't disappointed. The prices are very reasonable & the staff are always very friendly and welcoming. I like that the lights aren't too bright and the music isn't too loud. I 100% recommend this place. Whether it's for a date night or a simple hangout with friends. Love this place. read more

One of the best experiences i've had. First the service is phenomenal, very kind and caring. 10/10 one of the best services. Food is great, lots of options and variety, also very consistent in taste. Yum! This place is truly a gem. I searched Yelp for the term "foodie" while at my office in Santa Clara and landed on Rice Junky. Lucky for me! I ordered one of the bowls and it was fantastic. The staff were very friendly and the cook time was quick. You could tell the place was frequented by regulars. Many folks knew what they wanted without looking at the menu. I'm back in Santa Clara in December....will definitely stop by with my coworkers again! read more
We were there for lunch and there was 6 of us. You do have to write your name down on the clipboard on the table right inside the entrance and go back outside to wait for them to get the table ready. Servers are friendly and approachable. The place is very k pop ish, between the posters on the wall and decorations it was very nice! We have ordered a few dishes. I got the pork ramen mild but still a little spicy for me but it was very yummy and delicious. The pork rice bowl is yum also. Then the beef soup bowl is amazing and the soup was so sweet and so good. Only some rice cake and glass noodles but plenty of veggies and beef. read more

Stopped by for a late-night snack and it did not disappoint! The place has such high-energy vibes. Perfect for a fun night out or a quick bite after dinner. You order from an iPad, which makes it super easy and convenient. The food came out pretty fast, and the staff were all really nice and friendly. The soup was flavorful, and the chicken burrito was delicious! Definitely one of my favorite Korean late-night snack spots. read more

Ordered the Dope Pork Bowl with kimchi fried rice to go. Even after the drive home, the food still held up really well. The pork was tender, flavorful, and had a nice smoky savory taste throughout. The kimchi fried rice added a good balance of spice and tanginess that paired perfectly with the richness of the pork. The homemade BBQ sauce was definitely the highlight for me. It had a sweet and smoky flavor with a little tang that made every bite even better. Portions were generous and filling, especially for the price, and everything was packaged nicely for takeout. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the rice became a little oily toward the bottom of the bowl, but overall it was still a really satisfying meal. Would definitely order again when I'm craving a quick and flavorful rice bowl. read more

If comfort food took a trip to Korea and came back with a suitcase full of flavor, it would look a lot like Rice Junky in Santa Clara! This place is pure fun. Both in the dishes and the vibe. As a result, I had such a great time eating my way through the menu with my brother and friend. We kicked things off with Pork Mandu (5 pcs)--crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside--and the Beef, Shrimp, & Pork Kkochi skewers, which were smoky, tender, and perfectly grilled. The Dirty Cheese Garlic Fries were a glorious cheesy, garlicky mountain, and the Seafood Pancake was golden, crispy, and packed with fresh seafood in every bite. For mains, the Rose Ddeokbokki had the perfect balance of creamy and spicy, the Crunch Pork Bowl lived up to its name with amazing texture, and the Bulgogi Wrap was handheld happiness. Had an amazing time at Rice Junky. Service was quick and the food was fresh. The atmosphere was relaxing and very fitting of the K-pop culture. What we ordered: - Pork mandu - fresh, crunchy and juicy - CC chicken bowl - highly recommend, nice balance of everything a bowl can provide - Kimichi udon - my personal favorite, would highly recommend during the winter. Also comes with a croquette and pickled radish. - Strawberry soju cocktail - it comes with a popsicle!!! Once you're done with your meal, if you head to the restrooms you'll be greeted with complimentary toiletries you can use, like one time use toothbrush, tooth paste, and mouth wash. read more
I've taken most if not all of my loved ones here. I always recommend the CC Chicken Bowl. Absolutely exceptional chicken taste with crunchy breading and marination, delicious mac salad, and I recommend the egg fried or kimchi fried rice. They're always so generous with the chicken, it's awesome. Everyone I've taken here has always come to adore this place. So sad the Fremont location stopped selling these bowls, it was such a gem. The Santa Clara location has eccentric decor (massive korean idol collages) and moody lighting, opens late too. Service can be slow depending on hours to be honest. I love this place so much I'm willing to drive farther to a location that has the CC Chicken bowl, even in wrap form. read more
Nestled in the middle of El Camino Center is Rice Junky: upbeat, hip, and a fun vibe! Definitely has a college vibe or a great place to play hooky from work for their everyday happy hour 11am to 4pm (50 percent off draft beer). Unfortunately, friends and I came here for dinner lol. Service is very quick! I loved my cheese corn ramen, I added Rice cakes and it really hit the spot. My bestie got spicy fiesta ramen, he said he wasn't hungry but he ate it all anyway so it must have been hella good too. He said it was deceptively spicy but not over powering. My other bestie for a bunch of skewers: chicken, beef, pork. The yuzu salad and rice which I tried all of them... Omg amazing! We could easily rack up the bill just eating skewers . The flavors totally chicken what's my favorite it was sweet and perfect. The beef was absolutely tender and divine. This bestie also loved everything. 100/100 will be back! read more
I admit, I am a Rice Junky too..... I love Rice! I had this biz bookmarked on many of my trips out to San Jose but never made it, until this recent trip ( May 2025). I am glad Rice Junky has a closing time of 12 am. The location is perfect, was close by to where we were staying at Milpitas. After we stopped at airport for a pick up, we head straight to Rice Junky. I've never been to Korea so this spot is pretty cool to check out, bar vibe restaurant, for Korean food and K-Pop theme. I'm not a fan of K- pop but have friends and co-workers that do. There's K-pop music playing on screen which I don't really know anything about, it kept me curious while I watched the singers. The decor is fun too, the message posted all around is funny and cheesy, look around while you wait for your food/drinks, you will see what I mean. hehe. Ordering was a little confusing, it took me 20+ minutes to figure it out, You order via touch screen, same exact ones like at Chili's. This is a first to see at a Korean business. I wanted to order a dish I saw on posted on Instagram but I couldn't find it and I couldn't get help. I ended up getting something else. We just got a ramen dish ( can't live without Korean ramen noodles!) and since I am a Rice Junky, we got the side order of Kim Chee fried rice and egg fried rice, and order of the CC chicken with cheese. I wanted flavored Soju which they were out and not a fan of plain soju or beer so we didn't order any drinks. After we got our orders in, the food came out pretty quick. The verdict, loved everything, I wish we could order more to try but we were there close to last call and the food we got sufficed. We enjoyed the chicken which we picked bbq sauce and mozzarella cheese ( you have a choice) the kim chee fried rice and egg rice was good, but the shin noodles was a little plain, I loved the sausage and toppings that was in the noodle. No complimentary ban chan giving, just a little daikon. I miss the kim chee, mix of ban chan when at a Korean restaruant. Overall, my party of 3 enjoyed our visit and of course I would have this biz on my list of visits when I visit San Jose again. Note, they were pretty busy and they are pretty popular even on Yelp! Went around 4 pm on a Saturday and it wasn't super busy! Was seated quickly and the worker was very kind. At the table, there is a little ordering machine! Inside is clean and decorated with posters. Cute little spot. I got the CC chicken bowl with lemon pepper, egg fried rice, and Mac salad. I thought it was okay, the chicken is really crunchy and felt more breading than meat. I'd give it a 6/10. Flavor was okay, some pieces were more coated than others. Fried rice was basic, I think it could be a bit more flavorful. The Mac salad was good! My cousin got the CC chicken pan dish with sweet and spicy seasoning and corn cheese. This was a lot better! I'd give it a 7.5/10, the corn cheese was super yum and the sweet and spicy chicken was good as well. Showed up with 5 friends at 4pm and no other customers in the restaurant but plenty of takeout orders coming and going. It's definitely more of a bar vibe than a restaurant which I wasn't expecting because of the rice bowls lol Ipads mounted on every table to order drinks/food Food and drinks came out very quickly with staff ready to seat and serve. The food came out as they finished which was nice instead of all at once, great food to have Each plate could be shared by 2 people, food was decent but nothing stood out to us. Was looking for a late night bite and found this Korean pub in Santa Clara. Not much people on a Wednesday night. Decorated with neon signs. Greeted immediately, was seated, and ordered via screen on table. I got the CC chicken pan dish with sweet and spicy sauce. Comes with corn cheese. The chicken was crispy and the sauce was addictingly good. The corn cheese had a nice char but wished the hot plate was a bit hotter to fully melt the corn cheese. The rose Ddeokbokki was super creamy also comes with bacon, fish cake, lettuce, and a slice of cheese. Also wished it was a bit hotter for this dish. Overall, great flavors here. Ordered 3 things to-go because late night munchies and the one item that is a must is the CC Chicken Pandish! Not only the chicken itself was flavorful, dipping it with cheese corn was addicting. I think I want to get an order just for myself instead of sharing next time haha. It was really that good and I highly recommend it. The seafood pancake was also good, but nothing special. I also tried the Crack Kkochies because I wanted to try the different skewers they had. I liked pork one the most while my partner really liked the chicken. The beef was on the drier side. Shrimp was good, but I don't really care for it as a skewer. It was nice to try all the different skewers with cheese corn and sauce, but next time I think I would order individual skewers and dip cheese corn from the pandish. read more
This place feels like it caters to anti-social gen z. I always wanted to try this place but never was in the area and felt a bit old for this type of place. It has a bar scene feel. However today was the day. We went out for a late lunch. You order on the screen. We had the CC Chicken and the beef bulgogi bowl. It was really tasty. We both had the kimchi fried rice. I had the white sauce and my companion had the hot sauce. Both were good accompaniment to everything. It reminded me of a Hawaiian lunch plate with Korean flavors. I can't really rank service because there really wasn't too much going on. They bring the food out and give you the check. Overall, I'd come back.
