    Jäeger Schnitzel Plate (Veal)

I really liked that this place offers both German and Mediterranean dishes -- such a unique combination! We ordered takeout, and the staff was friendly. There were both indoor and patio seating options. I also noticed that the digital menu displayed on the screen seemed to have more items than the printed one. Jäeger Schnitzel Plate (Veal): The crispy meat and rich sauce went perfectly together! I loved that the schnitzel was generously covered in sauce because it was so flavorful. On the other hand, the mac and cheese had a simple taste and was a bit dry. They also have cakes, so it's a nice spot whether you just want coffee or a full meal.

If you live in the Bay Area, you know there's no shortage of Biergartens in the Peninsula. That being said Das Bierhauz stands above the rest with their selection, food offerings, and crazy happy hour pricing. It's a little far from San Francisco, but I would make their drive down again for a relaxing afternoon libation Special thanks to server Ag for explaining the options and offering a splash

Solid German food. Schnitzel was perfectly cooked and the eggplant was tasty and fried well, though the salt was a bit inconsistent. It was paired with a delicious mushroom sauce. Excellent Hefeweizen. Apfel strudel was as expected. Great atmosphere in the area on a Saturday night. Service was quick and friendly.

This is a good spot to grab a beer and chill. I've tried food here a couple times. Most recently I ordered the spicy chicken schnitzel. It was crispy and reminded me of katsu. The portion was huge but I found chicken quite plain even with the spicy sauce. The lingonberry gave it a boost with some contrasting sweetness. I thought the spatzel was pretty nice. The menu is huge. I would give the gyro or doner a try whenever my next visit might be.

    Soft Pretzel with sweet mustard

The beer garden has picnic style benches with umbrellas which makes it nice and casual to eat outside with friends and family. There may be the occasional noise from the Caltrain as it is located very close to the station, but it doesn't take away from the experience in my opinion. Ordering drinks and snacks is very convenient as you order through your phone, and the wait staff comes out with your order. The waiter we had was an older man who was very friendly and made a few jokes as small talk as he handed off our food and drinks (turkish tea, pretzel, draft beer/cider). For entrees, you must order inside and you are greeted with a large menu of turkish/german cuisines. While I would come again for the draft beers and beer garden vibe alone, I had to try the pretzel. It appeared to be a pretty authentic bavarian soft pretzel from looks alone, and the texture was soft with a bit of a solid crust. It was not overly salted, and the best part is the pairing with the sweet mustard, which is a bit hard to find in the area. One of the best quality pretzels around.

Never thought I would find rice, chopsticks, and chili oil at a nice European establishment like this. Wonderful service and lovely ambiance.

Large outdoor space on the corner of the street to put down a few liters. I went with the Schnitzel, Pretzel and Lamb Souvlaki. On a nice day, sitting outside on the benched tables underneath umbrellas is wonderful. Happy Hour beer is also a bonus.

Found this great German place while exploring Mountain View. First off, they have a fantastic German beer selection. They also have lots of German food too. They also serve Turkish breakfast. We just got a little snack as we weren't that hungry but thirsty. We of course got some beer. We shared a salad and some delicious creamy hummus with pita bread. I am so gonna come back to this place and tey some German food and try something more beer. Everything was great and it was a beautiful day outside where we enjoyed our lite lunch.

The food, service and ambiance here are fantastic. We chowed down on two veal jaeger schnitzels and they were fantastic. My family is from Germany and they felt right at home. We drank a huge glass of Fruh Kolsch and loved every drop. This made me feel like being in the Alt Stadt for sure. If you're in Mountainview and you want German food, then this is definitely a place to hit. Vielen Dank Bierhauz!

I should've used my instincts when I came in to this crowded unclean restaurant that this was the beginning of a terrible experience. Floors aren't swept, tables covered in food and dishes, people crowding the register. But like most adventurous people who respect the food industry, I get that staff can be backed up or some orders take longer to cook, or maybe there's just a large party dining in. I truly get it. I wanted to give this a chance as it seemed like a diamond in the rough due to the current review status. Boy was I so wrong. I waited for over an hour for a soup, salad and pork Schnitzel (still waiting as I type this review) . Staff did not give us any update, nor did they seem to remember what we ordered, no sense of urgency. What's the point of giving us a receipt number, or table placard with numbers if no one is following it, and there's a handful of people asking for a status update? It wasn't until we asked for a refund IF they haven't started with preparing our order did they actually care. Mind you now it's 30minutes before closing, they are still taking orders and they still haven't served others who are just as upset for not being served. Maybe it was a bad day, but it affected me and family enough to not consider coming back. Good luck to you Esther's Update: after 1hr 45min, They forgot our salad, the soup of the day was sub par Campbells soup, and their pork schnitzel was lackluster.

It was a sunny day and the weather was beautiful (but slightly hot), luckily we got a table as there were reserved seats around us. For happy hour, we got their happy hour sampler which included, 2 spaetzle cheese balls, a pretzel with sweet mustard, pickled veggies, and a cheese sausage/brat wrapped in pastry dough. We also ordered some jager fries (fries with mushroom gravy/jager sauce, cheese, and green onions). The wrapped sausage was the standout! We also ordered two half liter beers - I love the selection of German beers and local beers. This being a biergarten, of course we went German. Overall, a beautiful way to spend an afternoon! I would definitely try non-happy hour menu items and try to make my way down their beer list.

Teske's Germania is a long-standing place which still carries a certain European charm, lingering in the white tablecloths. It was cold and rainy outside, which made starting with an excellent asparagus soup and a warm pretzel (served with some mysterious but tasty spread) absolutely necessary. For the main courses: my husband chose goulash with red cabbage, and I had a Wiener schnitzel with a wonderful potato salad. And on a day like this, in a place like this, dessert is not optional. The Black Forest cake made its entrance and closed the meal just right. Excellent food. A warm European atmosphere. Great service. And prices quite reasonable.

I have to start my review by saying how sorry I feel for all the people who come here and spend…read moretheir hard-earned money. I apologize on behalf of this place, and please don't judge European cuisine based on the kind of terrible food you get here. Nothing is authentic about preheated food that's supposed to come freshly out of the oven. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they just put some of it in the microwave. We arrived on a Saturday at 5:45 PM and the place was completely empty. The owner's first question was whether we had a reservation. That was the first red flag I should have noticed, but the red flags just kept coming. The food arrived suspiciously fast. We ordered a lot of dishes, so I was actually worried it wouldn't even fit on the table. The first thing I asked for, as a European, was bread. I asked if they could bring out plenty so I wouldn't have to keep asking for more. She brought 4 tiny pieces and said, "If you eat all of it, I'll bring more." Well, that didn't sit well with me. After the first bite, I immediately asked her to take it back because it was terrible. It tasted like minimum one-week-old dry, moldy bread. Then the manager came to the table and interrogated me about why I called the bread terrible. He claimed it was "authentic German bread" right after finding out I was European just minutes before. I even asked them to at least put it in the toaster, hoping that would improve it a little. After that, it felt like they kept harassing us. "Is everything okay?" Even the owner started yelling from the other side of the restaurant asking if everything was good. I'm only posting the pictures to show how much food we ordered -- and there wasn't a single dish that wasn't terrible. This is the type of food that's only enjoyable when it's fresh. Not a single dish tasted like it was cooked that day. Just think about how day-old reheated French fries taste -- terrible. That's exactly how we felt about the entire meal. The weirdest part came when we asked for to-go boxes. They didn't know we only planned to take the food home for my friend's dog. When they came back with the boxes and tried taking the plates away, my friend said, "Oh wait, I want to take that pork skin for my dog." The waitress replied that she could bring a smaller box for it, and I was honestly so close to saying, "Save yourself the trip -- all of this food is for the dog anyway. Just put it with the rest." But I decided not to be as rude and unprofessional as the staff was here. I don't think I even need to mention that we will never come back. I posted this mainly to warn my fellow Europeans not to come here, and to educate those who may not realize that nothing here is fresh. I'm saying all of this as a former restaurant owner in Europe, a former chef, and simply as someone who knows how food is supposed to taste.

I was recommended to try the pork schnitzel by my friend and it did not disappoint. I got my sandwich with a side salad. We also ordered the deviled eggs to share. My friend has never had the deviled eggs before and pleasantly surprised and delighted that the eggs were absolutely delicious. They're very smooth, eggs were cooked perfectly and the touch of bacon was just right. It does come with a small helping of mixed greens topped with pickled onions. The pork schnitzel was crispy & crunchy due to the breaded pork loin, came with pickled onions, slaw and the chipotle aioli sauce. The sauce does have a bit of a kick to it but it wasn't too spicy, well, at least for me. My salad was very good too. It was colorful and had an interestingly tangy dressing on it.
