We happened to stop by West Oak Nash while in Lodi dropping our son off for move-in day at University of Pacific, and what a happy discovery this was! Melissa, the owner, could not have been more welcoming. She shared that she and her husband are UOP grads themselves, which made the visit feel even more special given why we were in town. The food was outstanding. The pork schnitzel sandwich was cooked perfectly: crispy, well-seasoned, and clearly made with care. The deviled eggs were some of the best we've had in a long time, creamy with just the right kick. It's clear this is a place run with real pride, and it means a lot to support a local, family-run spot like this in Lodi, especially one with such genuine UOP roots. Came on a Saturday for lunch visiting a friend. I was enticed by all the colorful looking pictures and because I've never had German or German inspired food before. Now was a good as time as any! As we entered, there was a sign to meet at the bar for seating. The waitress/server came out after a bit of a wait and according to my friend, it's usually a longer wait time around lunch for someone to come out and seat you. I was recommended to try the pork schnitzel by my friend and it did not disappoint. I got my sandwich with a side salad. We also ordered the deviled eggs to share. My friend has never had the deviled eggs before and pleasantly surprised and delighted that the eggs were absolutely delicious. They're very smooth, eggs were cooked perfectly and the touch of bacon was just right. It does come with a small helping of mixed greens topped with pickled onions. The pork schnitzel was crispy & crunchy due to the breaded pork loin, came with pickled onions, slaw and the chipotle aioli sauce. The sauce does have a bit of a kick to it but it wasn't too spicy, well, at least for me. My salad was very good too. It was colorful and had an interestingly tangy dressing on it. It paired well with the sandwich. One was spicy and the salad was tangy but refreshing. My friend also ordered the pork schnitzel with beef tallow fries. I tried some of her fries and they were thin but still crispy. Overall the food at West Oak Nosh was so good and delicious! I ordered pork snitched and nosh burger. The pretzel bun was soft this time. The pork snitched is thin very crispy, no distinctive flavor so I used bbq sauce. With the chipotle spill it comes with. The fries here are puffy crispy very delicious. +$5 for fries or a salad. The service was excellent. Was disappointed to be charged for requesting more horadishsauce because it's not enough in the burger from the second server who came to check on us. For a $18 meal sauce should be complimentary. The POG juice pineapple, mango, guava was good. It's an improvement for sure since the last time I came. Small outside dining. The bar area is pretty. I have gotten take out from here a handful of times and it's just because of my schedule. The location is actually very nice and has a good vibe. I've tried some of their options and the only thing I haven't enjoyed was the schnitzel as it was just too dry for me. The BLT with avocado is my go-to. I like it even better than their signature burger and that's pretty good too. My favorite thing is that they have really fresh crispy chips/fries but sometimes - because I am ordering to go - they get a little soggy by the time I eat them so I definitely recommend dining in, if you have the time. Visited this place last night and had an enjoyable experience. We had the deviled eggs which were tasty. I had the 5 sausage platter so I tried all of the sausages. They were all tasty. My husband got the smash burger which was nicely seasoned. The beer selection was great and they had a decent cocktail selection as well. Service was friendly and helpful. Ambiance is casual. We had a really pleasant experience having lunch in this establishment - a nicely decorated bar/bistro in Lodi .service was great , food was excellent and creative and the prices were beyond reasonable . I finally got to try West Oak Nosh and wow this place is great. inside was nice and roomy with lots of seating. The employees were really friendly and nice. I was able to place a to go order and I got the Pork Schnitzel, Nosh Burger, and the B.A.L.T. Combo. The food was really good. My favorite was the B.A.L.T the sandwich was huge. The bacon was crispy and delicious and the avocado mash was nice and flavorful. The fries were also seasoned well and crispy. The Pork Schnitzel was huge. A little too dry for me. and needed more seasoning. The pickled onions were a kick of flavor and got my attention. wow. The Nosh Burger was really good. The meat was tasty and the greens were fresh. We love West Oak Nosh! Their menu has German roots but they offer a lighter take on things. Their menu is locally sourced and they even make their own sausages. We have tried so many things from their menu, all of which are good. I love their deviled eggs, their schnitzel sandwich, their burger (add a fried egg), and their giant freshly made pretzel... but my go-to is their B.A.L.T. Sandwich! My husband and I like to split it. It comes with a side of their yummy duck fat fries and I always add a side green salad with vinaigrette. It makes for the perfect lunch! They have a great beer selection with locally sourced beers and some great N/A options. I haven't had one of their cocktails but I've seen some beautiful drinks that they make. Tried Nosh for lunch today with friends for the first time in several years. I ask server which sandwich is most popular and she recommended the chicken pesto sandwich. So that's what I ordered. To my surprise there was a very thin dry piece of chicken breast that was barely noticeable in the huge pieces of bread it was between. Sauce and seasoning was good but having the small dry piece of chicken totally ruined it. Server asked if I wanted salad or fries with it but neglected to say it was $5 extra. Salad had lemon vinegar dressing that was very bitter so I didn't even eat it. Not sure I'll even return. read more

I was very disappointed in the lunch, starting with the Brussel sprouts that came covered in bacon when I ordered them plain. The vegetarian options are very limited and when you order a vegetable and it still comes with meat it meant half of my lunch I was unable to eat, the salad was at best mediocre. My son ordered the chicken sandwich and an entire 1/4 of the sandwich was just the 2 pieces of bread and no filling and his fries were soggy. Lunch for 2 people was $78! Visiting Lodi we went to Yelp to find a meal. I am always on the look out for German food and was happy to find West Oak Nosh. I noticed a lot of recommendations for the Dev!l eggs. When we received ours it was the first thing I ate. Honestly I have never went to a restaurant and ordered them before because I thought they were just basic food I can make at home.... These were exceptional!! The filling had a little kick I loved and the bacon was perfect for it. Ordered the three plate sausage Polish, Hawaiian and Brautworst. The task was good, but they were just "warm" I was very disappointed on the temperature of them. We took them home and I'll warm them up at home. ( maybe more time in microwave?.... I don't want to think of them in a microwave....but a suggestion) Beet and Orange salad I would definitely order again too. Ingredients were fresh and sweet. This place has great German-bent food. There are excellent sausages, excellent salads, and they happily catered to our dietary needs. The service was a little slow, but to be fair, one of the servers was expecting very soon, so we get it. What really got my attention though were the solidly reasonable prices. With our governor not understanding anything about how the economy works increasing restaurant workers wages, a large Togo's pastrami sandwich has gone from $8 to $15. It's not worth it - I don't eat there anymore. However somehow West Oak Nosh doesn't appear to be passing it on to the consumers. If I could make this 4.5 stars I totally would. read more

I've been here once before and the service was amazing, Today was a different story, my sister in law and I went in for brunch/lunch. Immediately walking in the a server glared and said "sit where ever is open" totally understandable it was busy. We find a table in the back on the right side. It took our server Chloe 5 minutes to touch our table to just drop off menus. It then took 15 minutes for her to come back to grab our food and drink order but when she came to take our orders she was extremely snippy with a major attitude. I understand everyone has off days but they've been open for less than an hour by the time we got there. We got two BALTs and erdbeerminze. The sandwiches were extremely small, bread was heavily over toasted with very little tomato, avocado and an insane amount of lettuce for 14$ plus 5$ for a side of fries that were on the extreme over done side?!?! Coming to 80$ for 2 peopleKinda highway robbery. The other server that showed up that was working the left side of the room was on top of it. Quick Review/Update: Past couple times I've been here the food and drinks have been meh which sucks bc my previous visits were always good. This visit: Nosh Pockets - just okay. Good amount of filling but it was bland. Not sure if it solely relies on the dip but some more salt wouldn't hurt. Beef fat fries - these came out more like chips. Crispy and little to no potato texture inside. Disappointing given I've enjoyed these before. Pomegranate margarita - okay but for the price I've had better at plenty other places. Service - the initial bartender I approached upon entry just looked at me. No quick greeting or word spoken. Had I not been here before I likely would have left but I just went with the notion this lady sucks. The other bartender that came was nice and attentive. I really wanted to enjoy this hidden gem from what I was told however, I wasn't that impressed. Our waitress was super attentive, and very helpful guiding us through the menu selection. We tried the Brussel sprouts and "sausage mini corn dogs" as an appetizer. The Brussels were wonderfully prepared, but the sausage corn dogs were just ok. My husband had the schnitzel sandwich while I had the sausage sampler. My husband ended up taking his sandwich apart, and I took most of the sausage home to be polite. The food here was surprisingly good! I say "surprisingly" because we really are talking pretzels and sausages. We ordered a 3-sausage platter and the bratwurst was one of the best I've ever had! The andouille sausage had a little spicy kick to it. The Bavarian pretzel was so good too! The potatoes were also done very well. On the down side: what kind of German bar/restaurant only has one German beer!? That part was disappointing. The kids mac n cheese was also really soggy and mushy. The pork schnitzel was so thin and chewy. Finally, the service was slow. I had to go to the bar just to find out server to take our order. The bright side, I think the things they do well are done really well and I'm hoping to go back and have a much better experience. But please, put more German beers on tap! read more

We went for lunch, but I'd love to come in the evening for beer & munchies. The restaurant looked like it could accommodate larger groups due to them having several long tables. First of all, love the ambiance. It's very bright with high ceilings, and very hipster, but super chill. We sat ourselves and ordered the 3 sausage trio which came with mustard and a huge side of pickled stuff such as pickles, sauerkraut, jalapenos and onions. I wish I can say I like the dish, but the sausages (all of them) were extremely dry and definitely needed the help of the pickled veggies to help them. I couldn't really distinguish between all the flavors because they were all so dry. I also got the chicken schnitzel that came with a pretzel bun which was also really dry. The chicken was okay but still on the dry side. Luckily, it came with slaw and pickled onions to help it along. The fries that came with it on the other hand was really good! Flat with a fluffy inside and crispy outside. Tasted really good dipped in a side of beer cheese. The best part of the meal was the pineapple cider!
