This review is specifically for drinks as we had lunch plans and time to kill in Lodi over the weekend. We stopped in on a Sunday after hitting a few places to wine taste and were intrigued by the concept. I would call West Oak Nosh "German Fusion," but as I'm always reminding my followers I'm not an expert of anything other than petting Porch Kitties, it doesn't matter what I call it in my own mind. I would highly recommend ordering from their specialty cocktail menu. Though they have many styles of beer available (the chalkboard showed about 30 beers), I would have preferred more of them being German if that's the feel they're going for. Still, it's always nice to have so many choices, and I spied a few of my favorites on the beer list. I decided to order the Basil Daisy cocktail because it sounded so yummy. Spoiler alert: it was! ;-) This bright pink drink makes me think of spring time, with grapefruit vodka, basil, citrus, and rhubarb notes from the Aperol (which I dig the taste of. Aperol over Campari every time). Sooooo delicious! My bf ordered a Weihenstephan from the tap to sip as we sat at the bar and chatted with the bartender. She was a lovely human and I felt a friendly vibe at Nosh. The roll up doors with large windows were perfect for this past Sunday, which had a gorgeous blue sky for daaaaaays. I love West Oak Nosh. From the moment they opened they've been serving up amazing food and a perfect laid back environment for friends and family to get together and enjoy each other's comp at over delicious food and drink. The picnic tables allow for bigger groups as well as the communal experience that reminds you of a German Bier Garten. Once you try the food you'll be hooked and the owners, employees and chef all contribute to an amazing overall experience. My go to is the schnitzel sandwich and it's hard to order anything else, but trust me, it's worth exploring the menu. Everything is amazing and while it's German Hofbrau Inspired everything is uniquely Nosh. Try their spätzle and you'll know what I mean! I ordered West Oak Nosh through DoorDash while my boyfriend & I were visiting from Southern California for a friend's wedding. I'm debating on moving just for this. Okay, that's dramatic but I will for sure be back. My grandma is from Vienna, and I grew up eating her homemade pork schnitzel. She unfortunately passed in 2020 and I've been searching far and wide to find something that would give me that nostalgia. The schnitzel strips nailed it. So simple, yet so satisfying. My grandma would always use an obscure amount of lemon, and I could tell this place definitely didn't shy away from the acid. I appreciated that extremely tiny detail. The fries were like nothing I've ever had. Those pickled onions are insane. The sausage poppers were a LITTLE difficult to bite through the casing, but completely made up for in flavor. We ordered the Hawaiian. Unfortunately, now I'm extremely bummed I live so far away from any really good German food. Haha. read more

What I wanted was out of stock, so I had a ginormous pretzel, it was alright, but one note, it was a pretzel. The ambiance was industrial and very hipster, but not worth the $. I cannot give this place a 5 stars only because I only had their deviled eggs, which were fantastic! They give you 3 pickled eggs and 3 regular, I liked the pickled ones much better. They have pickled onions as well, it seems to come with almost everything on their menu. So, if you are not a pickled onion fan, be sure to mention that. The place is REALLY loud! I went in to send some emails and grab a bite and it was a little overwhelming. With that said, if you were coming for drinks and to hang with friends this is the perfect atmosphere. The menu sounds good but is an extreme disappointment. I had the three sausage platter (polish sausage, bratwurst and jalapeño chedder). They were completely over cooked, dry and tasted like cardboard. My girlfriend ordered a bacon cheddar burger and received some other burger that was over cooked, dry and cardboardish as well. She ordered warm potato salad and got fries. The burger took up 2/3 of the bun and loomed like it was a Costco frozen patty. Please get it together. This was awful. I've been here twice now and it's a really nice, casual spot. Both times I've gone the food has been prepared fresh and with good flavors. The Cobb salad is filling and delicious. The amount of dressing was perfect for my liking and the chicken was moist. The pork schnitzel sandwich is tasty and I love the pickled onions. Plenty of beer, hard seltzer, sours, and cocktails to choose from. It would be nice if they had some fancier non-alcoholic options. I've been here a handful of times with both some friends and my hubby. First time was last summer before the Lodi Craft Beer Festival at the Lake. Its a great place to fill up on grub before heading out for a day of drinking beer! I love that they have utilized all the space in the main dining room, the last place seemed to have a lot of wasted space in there. I love the community tables, it feels authentic to the "German" menu they have. They have a great variety of food as well as drinks. They really do have something for anyone: wine, beer, cocktails, meat, salads, vegan friendly options, etc etc. I love that I can go here with anyone and know that they will at least find a few things they can eat, including my vegan brothers (they have vegan sausage!). If you're a beer lover, then you won't be disappointed. Same if you're a sausage fan because you can order a variety of sausages. Everything is to great to share, bite sized and finger friendly for the most part. The place is super cute and the services has always been super friendly and attentive. I love going to places where it feels like the employees friendliness is genuine and not just to make a tip (although that's obviously helpful). Just a great place over all, I was happy when it was opened, because Lodi needs a little more variety downtown. It reminds me of a few restaurants I like to frequent in Downtown Sacramento. Cute little spot. Can get pretty busy, but service floats around a lot so you can toss questions or get in orders pretty easily. I did find on occasion that getting drinks from the bar when there's a lot of other people seated can help if they seem swamped by the other The beer selection is good. I like that they keep a few sours around for a good change of pace drink wise. I'd say the other nice thing is that despite it being a little space, you can still hold a conversation pretty well without having to yell over other people around you which helps immensely. I reached out to WON a day prior to see if they were dog friendly as we'd be traveling to Lodi with our golden while visiting wineries in town. Someone got back to me via IG within an hour letting us know we'd be welcome to dine on their patio. The patio isn't huge, but if there is an open table anywhere in, out, etc. you want to grab it! Service was great, but for us the food is where it shined. Definitely get the pork schnitzel, you won't regret it. The perfect amount of slaw and pickled onion. The pretzel bun is soft, yet holds up so well to the slaw and sauce. The Nosh fries are pretty legit, wish they had a tad more beer cheese on them... it didn't stop us from finishing them though. My husband got andouille, bratwurst, & jalapeño cheddar. All the accompaniments really take the sausages to another level. I found this place randomly while on my way to wine tasting. I search YELP for something vegan and a German beer restaurant popped up. What a great spot. The walls open to fresh outdoor seating. The interior is relaxing, comfortable and interesting especially with the old town Lodi wall mural. Many beers, sours etc. to choose from.
